Heaven and Mirthby Parks Reece Good morning! We have lots of snow here which looks really pretty. The temperature is -9 C. The dogs are having a blast walking in the snow. Their walks haven't been as long, though. Even with their coats on it is cold for them. I enjoyed reading your accounts of your holiday celebrations and meals. Linda, homemade peach pie, yum. I'm glad that your mom and brother were able to celebrate with you. Maya was adorable in her Hanukkah outfit, looking over her shoulder at the camera. I like the way the beams of light radiated from the candles, Carole. That must have been so special to have your grandchildren gathered there with you and Alan. Penny, your menorah collection is beautiful. Everyone's table settings and food looked like they were right out of a magazine. We finished up the leftovers last night. Ian came over to have some. We sent a plate home for Allison, who was finishing up a nursing shift by 7 pm. We got some cards, bows, and Christmas crackers and more outdoor lights all at 70% off yesterday. We didn't go out on Boxing Day. I'm trying to get the box of those items organized for next year. Thanks for the colourful photo of our WE beauties, Carole. |

Cheryl - Indeed it was a special evening with the family. 7 out of 8 grandkids were there as Jason lives in Montreal and was working. DD Susan was also missed but she is enjoying the beautiful sunshine in Florida. Your Heaven & Mirth graphic is very pretty

LATEST UPDATE ON NX December 28 update The veterinary team caught up NX this morning to remove her body wrap — diagnostic intern Katie reports that NX continues to remain very feisty. Dr. Miranda removed the body wrap and was pleased with the extension of NX’s injured wing. She left “bumpers” [protective bandages] on NX’s carpi [wrists] to protect the injured area on the right carpus and to prevent any injuries to the left carpus, now that NX is free to flap that wing. Dr. Miranda would like to keep NX inside until the next set of radiographs next week — but if NX becomes too jumpy and active indoors, the veterinary team will move her to a small outdoor enclosure. |

I can barely believe this news story. Cheetah, the Chimpanzee of the 1930s Tarzan films has just died! The famous chimp was 80 years old! We should all be so fortunate.

Me either Kris I think they mentioned that in the wild the chimps usually only live for around 30 years.I found this interesting Raven/Wolf graphic today .... ![]() The artist believes that the connection between wolves and ravens in the wild is deep and abiding. These two have been together a long time
