Ozzie - Susan is flying in for the party and DS Gary and his SO (signifigant other) will be there. Youngest DD will be their with her DH and both kids. Charlene and her 2 DD's can't make it unfortunately, work gets in the way. With my family and my sister's, we will be about 30 people. My oldest and best girlfriend who lives in Montreal will also be there with her DH. Should be a lot of fun if Mom calms down, she's been overly anxious this past week and it's been a bit of a problem, but I think she will be okay.

Lily the Black Bear - Update January 9, 2012 Need to reposition Jewel’s camera ![]() Jewel - Jan 9, 2012 Sue said, ‘Jewel’s going to have cubs.” She said it with excitement in her voice. Is it women’s intuition? What we DO know, though, is that we must reposition the Den Cam to really see anything and have the official Den-watch Team able to record decent data. We plan on doing that tomorrow. Jewel has been so active she will likely take our visit in stride. “So, Sue, what makes you think Jewel will have cubs?” “Thank you, Lynn. I thought you'd never ask. Jewel’s overall alertness, restlessness, belly-scratching, and adding bedding all make me think she is preparing to give birth. We saw similar activity from Lily 2 years ago before Hope was born.” Thank you for all you do. —Lynn Rogers and Sue Mansfield, Biologists, Wildlife Research Institute and North American Bear Center |

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water! . She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it so slowly, and then asked, How much do I owe you?" You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness." He said ... "Then I thank you from my heart." As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit. Many years later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case. After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge, and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words ... "Paid in full with one glass of milk" (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly. Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank You, God, that Your love has spread broad through human hearts and hands." There's a saying which goes something like this: Bread cast on the water comes back to you. The good deed you do today may benefit you or someone you love at the least expected time. If you never see the deed again at least you will have made the world a better place - And, after all, isn't that what life is all about? |

Great news on the WC migration, but "one time only exemption" ? What are they going to do next year?????!!!!! Sounds like a great party Carole. I know some people get really stressed out on parties, but not me! Wish I could be there (even if I'm not a family member! )Love the Vitamin F, we all need to take one every day! Rachel walked out before being interviewed for the job. Lots of people lined up and it was full time (she only wants part time), charity collecting on the street. BLAH. I'm glad she didnt get it. Its the kind of job travellers take on, she doesnt need to be involved with that kind of environment. Poor Kid. Rex is going to put her to work on the property for 2 days... and pay her! Something will come up for her.A good Deed! I'll try to remember than next time I see/meet Bob's new Daughter-in-Law.

Kath...I get up at 4:45 am and have to leave by 6:05. I stop at the 7-11 for coffee and then get to work about 6:15/6:20 in order to open at 6:30. I usually have 2 or 3 families who arrive right after that. Occassionally, I have someone there before I unlock the door to allow kids in and have had someone waiting for me at 6:20! We are not supposed to let them drop off before 6:30 without an extra charge (the same as if they came late in the evening to pick up) but it doesn't happen that often...maybe 1 or 2 times a school yr. so I don't charge them. WHOOOOOOPPP WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOP FOR THE CRANES!!!!! FLY, CRANES, FLY!!!! And YAYYYY for Jewel if Sue is right!!!! Another baby to watch!! woooohoooooo! |
