Blackwater nest. That is just too sad. That's a big palmetto bug. I'm sure it's hiding from your pond critters. ![]() BBL

This is hysterical! Apparently, this was a story on CBS Sunday morning about The Villages in FL (a community of retired folks.) The beginning made me laugh and I thought these folks had too much time on their hands...by the end of the video, I was trying to decide on what type of golf cart I wanted to buy. http://www.youtube.com/v/Qrpq5A-KAoA |

That was hysterical. We drive past the highway leading to The Villages on our way south, it's quite a large community. I do see some custom golfcarts at our club but nothing like the video.

Blackwater eaglets...sooooooo sad! RIP little ones! LOVE the Hawaii rainbow pic! Thanks for sharing that, Cheryl! We, also, saw a rainbow in Hawaii when we were in Lahaina on Maui. Poor Decorah eagle looks a bit tired Wow! So many nests with 3 egglets this season! Hope they all make it! Palmetto bug?? Looks like a giant cockroach! #81 great captures! Ok, I am tired of being sick I was in bed all wknd other than short respites on the computer. First it was the BP meds and then on Fri. when I was no longer feeling dizzy and nauseous from them, I came down with a bad head cold! For the last 2 days I have had the worst sore throat from all the darn drainage that I thought I might have strep but its not that cause no fever or anything else associated with that. I have had strep enough times to know what I would feel like if it was that and the only thing is the sore throat so I know its not strep. Last night my left ear started hurting and I could not sleep! ARGH! I must have finally fallen asleep just before 3 am because Jim got up then and I did not hear him at all. I woke up and looked at the clock at 5:05 and realized I was 20 mins late getting up! I hate that cause then I have to rush. Got to work on time but not as early as I like to be. Yes, I came to work because now my site leader is sick with a fever and thinks she might have strep. Just waiting for the results of her test. Already shorthanded at work so we can't both be gone. I feel better today but still stuffed up and coughing. One of the "perks" of working with kids everyday ![]() I watched the Oscars last night. Was glad it was on early so I could watch to the end. It went very well. Only one group of winners had the music played to wrap up the thank yous. I think that was a first. I am glad Meryl Streep won tho I have not seen her movie yet. I did not care for many of the dresses last night, tho! And what the heck is with Angelina Jolie and that slit in her dress?? That is so tacky what she did throwing her leg out that way. And she is soooooooo skinny that I don't think she looks beautiful anymore. Too many sharp edges and bones sticking out. |

Since the only nominated film we have seen is 'The Help' and DH isn't too keen on going to see 'The Artist' or 'Hugo', we've decided to go see 'A Separation' after reading the following: The Movie: A Separation Movie Trailer (2:02) "I had never heard about this marvelous Iranian film until it opened in my town this past Friday. We saw it on Saturday night with 2 other couples & all of us were mesmerized. Hands-down, this is a "must-see" film. Powerful, disturbing, painful to watch--with the kind of real-life conundrums that can happen to any family. Caring for an elderly parent with Alzheimer's, wanting to make a better life for oneself & one's children, being out-of-work, keeping a marriage together when you're bombarded with unresolvable impossible challenges. And then throw in the strict Iranian legal system and a black and white religious code--well, you can only imagine. Don't miss this film if it's available where you live. And if it's not, put it in your Netfilx queue now. Full disclosure: It's in Farsi with English subtitles--but, you'll soon not even notice." "Step lightly into "A Separation" if you are caring for an elderly parent, going through a divorce or wrangling for custody of your child. These painful themes are explored in writer-director Asghar Farhadi's finely crafted drama that has already collected shelf-loads of major film awards (including last night's Best Foreign Language Oscar). It teems with conflicts involving class, generations, responsibility, mental health and good old-fashioned lying. In the end, it's all about morality. When you're pushed against the wall to the brittle end of your emotions, how do you react? 'A Separation' ends with a whimper, not a bang, but that is essential to Farhadi's realism. How often do life's most challenging situations end neat and clean?" Clint O'Connor, Plain Dealer Film Critic All we have to do now is wait for it to show up at a movie theater here

Copied from the Montreal Gazette today..... Angelina Jolie, so emaciated her head looked too big for her body, flashed her leg on her slit Atelier Versace, deliberately, repeatedly and annoyingly. |

Sorry you are sick, Karen.I can relate to the part about getting all the germs from the children. School staff gets exposed to every germ that is going around the neighbourhood. I got strep numerous times and it's awful. I hope you don't have it but I think you might. I know how hard it can be to teach when you are so sick.

- really enjoyed the Oscars, except for Angelina - she just looked plain ridiculous flashing her leg like that, who cares, flash it for Brad, maybe, but not everybody else, sheesh. Funny about her head being too big, I was thinking the same thing. Way to go, Christopher Plummer! I enjoyed the way he talked to his Oscar. Michelle Williams looked so beautiful and classy. I also liked Rooney Mara's (sp?) quirky look. George Clooney, be still my beating heart. - distressing events at the Blackwater nest RIP little chicklets
