The new female at NBG sure gave everybody a run for their money last night She spent time in the nest bowl and vocalized a few times, did a lot of preening and even some nestorations at 12:45 EST but then just went to and eventually went to the back 'love' branch for the remainder of the night Early this morning more so we are still ![]() Screencap by Deejay According to Congowings: "Eagles in this area lay eggs between January and March - so if no egg by the latter part of March I guess we can assume not this year." |

Savta Topa Cathy...I watched part of that Blues special at the White House as it was on last night, also. It was pretty good but I don't really care for Mick Jagger who was on the show. All he does pretty much is jump around making weird faces all over the stage and he can't sing anymore. Most of his lyrics are just repeating the same words over and over, also. Not my kind of music. I couldn't watch the whole show, tho, as it wasn't on until 9 and really need to be in bed by 9 so I only watched the 1st 30 mins. I did see BB King, tho, and he was great still at his age! And the guitar playing I saw/heard was fantastic and absolutely unreal!! Its a definite must watch show! Might record it so I can watch it at a more reasonable hr for me.

![]() I'm long in bed before you all are and miss commenting on some posts. (Wow, didn't realize this pic was so big before saving it to my PB album. )Penny, I totally agree Angelina was just stupid for flaunting her leg the way she did. As for her tattoos I read that they're all the GPS coordinates (longitude and latitude) for the birthplaces of all her children. The most recent one was the location of Brad's birth. Unfortunately, being here I missed the Oscar telecast and only got the highlights through the BBC. Our internet provider caps our usage on our current plan or charges us more so watching online would probably put us over the limit. Carol, congratulations on the extension of your art show! I'm also keeping that you can get some humanity on your ability to have Bird feeders and flowers.I looked up the state of Ravens in the UK and learned there are only about 12,900 breeding pairs in the entire UK, and most not anywhere where we are, so our sighting was really an exception. They were in a conifer wood on the top of a hill ridge far from built up areas. Their populations are growing after centuries of being demonized and exterminated for unfounded reasons, like so many Birds here have been, especially the Raptors like Golden Eagles, Osprey, Kites and Goshwks. I found the Raven info on the RSPB website's page on Ravens. The site has a fantastic Bird Guide that has audio links on every individual Bird's page to recordings of their calls. Here's the main Bird Guide link. Karen, I'm with you on Mick Jagger. Never really liked him and think he should have just shut up and sat down a long time ago. I do have a trivial factoid I could share about him though. My DDs Dad's manager once, way back when, dropped Acid with Mick and watched the Sun come up at Stonehenge. We witnessed a bit of scandalous avian behavior a bit earlier. Our local Duck pair were at the steps to the canal off our patio wanting to be fed, so Ed went out with his bag of whole grain bread to feed them. During that a second female came up and the male responded by attacking and [forcing himself on her] (Re: the "R" word in case children are watching. ) Her mate soon flew in and was attacked by the aggressing Mallard. His mate stood by watching the whole episode but was exhibiting territorial boundary behavior when the other Mallard arrived. Birds higher on the avian hierarchy seem to have more "scruples" than others, like mating for life. It's a shocking fact that sometimes male Ducks will inadvertently drown the females they're "giving their attentions" to. Edited by circlescribe, Feb 28 2012, 11:32 AM.

Kris...last night Mick looked as if he had drank a case of Red Bull and taken speed! He was all over the stage! I was tired just watching him! Interesting facts about ducks! How terrible tho that they could drown their mates! Pretty Happy Tues. pic, Kris! Reminds me of the Painted Desert
