Rush Limbaugh, who uttered a terrible personal diatribe on air against Sandra Fluke, a 30 year old feminist and activist enrolled at Georgetown University Law Center, has issued a 'sort of' apology to her. ![]() She isn't buying it because it was issued after significant pressure from his sponsors who have begun to pull their support from his radio show. So far he has lost quite a few of them, but I'm sure he can survive if it gets cancelled because he earns $400 million a year!!! ![]() Fluke didn't take a stand directly on whether advertisers should abandon Limbaugh, but she said that "Americans have a long tradition of supporting companies that share the values that they have." He should put some of that money where his mouth is and donate it to the tornado victims ![]() Fluke interview on The View this morning (7:19) |

![]() A PLEASANT GOOD EVENING TO YOU! Topa - How great to go to Carmel and Monterey! Heard they were lovely places! A former landlady of mine told me Carmel was a nice place for artists! I used to hike quite a bit but I'm a NO SNAKES girl!!!!! Jackie Lawson is so talented! Cheryl - Yea for the whoopers! Penny - Hope the red tail has a great life.. So sad when an eagle can't be free! Deb - Glad you and ES had a successful caching! Good luck with the scout camping! Carole - It must be time consuming to check out all the eagles! I have all I can do to keep up with ours! KLJinOZ - So sad to hear of the floods! weather so crazy and the tornados here! This is such a busy time for me! Between now and May. I don't do well when I get too stressed (too old for that) These two months with my art show, 18 pieces and changing pieces to give a different look. Two receptions with that. Participating in two group shows for ARTS. One of "barn quilts" and one open subjects. My grand son, Jonathan's senior recital in classical guitar. A wedding shower and a wedding of my oldest grandson, Charles (who is head graphic designer for Relevant Magazine in Orlando, Fla. and actually going shopping with my daughter for a dress. (I really don't want her to know what size I am And the sad thing, I just found out mydear, dear nephew, Barry (he and his wife are so kind to me.) has been diagnosed with prostrate cancer. Prayers they will get it all and that it hasn't spread. They say there is a good recovery rate if it's gotten in time. So prayers for a miracle! Signing out . Up early tomorrow for car service and then Dr. appointment to check my knees. Thankfully NO PROBLEM. My dear surgeon kiddingly tells me "He owns me now" for the occasional checkup to see how the plastic and metal is working |

![]() MAKE THE CONNECTION. "And suddenly, I looked at the bull. He had this innocence ...that all animals have in their eyes, and he looked at me with this pleading. It was like a cry for justice, deep down inside of me. I describe it as being like a prayer - because if one confesses, it is hoped, that one is forgiven. " This photo shows the collapse of Torrero Alvaro Munera, as he realized in the middle of his last fight... the injustice to the animal. From that day forward he became an opponent of bullfights. Lily the Black Bear – UPDATE March 5, 2012 Unfettered Play and Bonding ![]() Lily and Faith play - March 5, 2012 It’s a joy to see Lily and Faith play like they do. The two have played together more in the den than we saw all last year. We believe the mother-daughter bond has grown immensely as Lily and Faith snuggled, nursed, and played. ![]() Jewel and cubs - March 5, 2012 We wondered how common play was in dens. We wondered if Hope’s play last year was unusual. Then we saw Lucky and Ted play last winter as they had played the summer before. We also see the lack of play between Lucky and Honey who had a wary and untrusting relationship last summer. Finally, we saw the increasing play between Lily and Faith and believe it is a sign of a strengthening mother-daughter bond. Who says animals don’t have feelings. Jewel and cub - March 5, 2012 Jewel’s cubs, Herbie and Fern, are growing by leaps and bounds. We got a good look at them today when Jewel was ‘making’ her bed. She gently pushed them out of the way—and towards the camera! They staggered around for a bit then headed back toward Jewel. We noticed today that Jewel was attempting to pick up the cubs by pinching their fur between her incisors. She succeeded for a few seconds before the cub slipped from her grasp. We will see more and more of this behavior in the days to come. 's Lynx track - March 5, 2012.........................Lynx tracks - March 5, 2012 Last night, a neighbor called to say he had just seen a lynx—a rare sighting! Today, the lynx tracks along the road were obscured by vehicle tracks, but we found one fairly clear lynx track where it had first come down a steep bank onto the road. We also found a nice trail of tracks where it had left the road and continued west. A video of yesterday’s highlights in Jewel’s den is posted on YouTube. Congratulations to Dana Coleman's students who have been given a legislative hearing date of March 12th for their proposal to have the black bear declared the Minnesota State Mammal! Thank you for all you do. —Lynn Rogers and Sue Mansfield, Biologists, Wildlife Research Institute and North American Bear Center |
