Good Day Peeps. My Big Sur Experience. I posted the new bridge work that is being built on Big Sur. I had no idea it was such a big project. We were stopped for about 15 minutes while the heli brought in wire mesh to cover the rock. There is a short slideshow of the Big Sur drive. Click for heli work. ![]() ![]() Click for short slideshow of the Big Sur drive.

Topa - All your photos are just beautiful, Big Sur is awesome. I've never been to Pebble Beach area but would love to play golf there, unfortunately it's $400.00 + per round so that won't happen.Deb - Have a great weekend with your scouts. Penny - NBG has turned into "As the Nest Turns" soap opera. Poor Dad, so many girlfriends but none who want to give him a family yet.

Aww, it is just so sad what is going on at NBG. Poor Dad, after the tragedy of last year he seemed to have bonded with his new mate and in the middle of the arrival of the first egg it was interrupted by an aggressive rogue female. He looks like he's been hopefully watching for her return. Reminds me of what happened at NCTC last year. Since #3 hasn't been seen since yesterday morning I worry about her fate. These aggressive intruders seem to be Hell bent on their agendas. I know it's just survival but as an anthropomorphological human it's so hard to witness. BTW: I dislike the name "Dirty Tail", it seems disrespectful somehow. Makes her seem like some kind of low life or trollop. Maybe "Dark Tail" would have been more respectful. Naturegal. I'll post the photos of Pebble Beach tomorrow. I thought I'd separate the slideshows by location over a few days because I took so many photos. My DH overheard a man on the putting green say it was the most expensive green fees he's ever paid. There is also Spanish Hills golf course on the 17 mile drive. Maybe it's not so pricey. Here's a peek inside the "Lodge" and I believe the other is the 18th hole from the lounge. I took these for you. ![]()

Kris do you remember when that huge female aka 'Big Beak' arrived in the NBG nest...I think it was 2008? I thought I had a of her but can't find it in my Norfolk album Anyway Ma abandoned the eggs and wasn't seen again for around a week. In the meantime Pa was with the new female, same as he did with #2 this year who was also very aggressive towards him. I think he did it in self defense and to keep his nest. Anyway, Lady Legacy did come back and they had another clutch. I'm keeping my DT comes back because they really seemed to have bonded. I agree with the DT name but in a few months she'll molt to all white and that won't be used anymore

I missed the close-ups of the feather damage on his back from the fight the other day when I was posting the 's earlier ![]() He'll be back...he's bringing in some new grasses for the nest today. I guess he'll get around to the heavy reconstruction of the right side when those intruders leave the area for good. Oh here he is again....being very watchful.... ![]() and having a rest for the first time in the nest today ![]()
