Our Pond Critters my not be as exotic as Carole's exquisite ones but we've been having our share of "Ducks out of Water" experiences lately. Ed's created somewhat of a "mini monster" by feeding the Ducks from the canal adjacent our yard. Now since nesting time is near they've taken to coming up onto our yard and patio and eating the Bird seed in the feeders whan hungry. The local Blackbirds are highly distressed by this, as they consider our patio their domain, and today I caught a few blurry pics through the front window of the action. Notice the streaking Blackbird in the first pic. Since installing Cat Barriers on access paths to the patio we've seen a dramatic decrease in Cat traffic but the Ducks just fly over them and help themselves to the Bird food if they get hungry and we're not here. These are a few blurry pics, some through our front window, of the two cute two Duck couples that we feed. One is a "mixed marriage" of a typical Mallard and a White Duck, the other a more common pairing. Most of these are through our front window and don't aspire to be "great photos". An agitated Blackbird streaking through the scene in the foreground with Ducks raiding his feeding tray. ![]() The "mixed marriage" pair at one of the Cat barriers to the patio. ![]() Same pair leaving after having their fill. ![]() The other pair sitting in our garden on the foggy morning yesterday. |

Kris I always like to see your garden and its visitors ![]() The foggy morning is gorgeous and the daffodils are blooming What do the cat barriers look like? I thought cats just climb or jump over anything in their way. ![]() And speaking of cats, that 'Happy Trails' card you posted last night was too cute Ozzie. It could have been Tigsy

OCEAN DEFENDER - Hawaii Galapagos Marine Iguana ![]() Topa when I saw your I laughed because look what I have on my bathroom wall...... ![]() I also have his friend and a cactus all of which were made by an artist in Flagstaff.AZ. I bought them at an art gallery in Old Town Scottsdale in 1994. They both have hugely long tails ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry, these are bad 's but you get the idea The top one is 22" long by 9" wide, the spotted one is 18" long by 10" wide and the cactus is 10" high by 14" wide. They are all 3 dimensional although it doesn't look like it in these pics. |
