Carole - I wish I could have seen it in person. But so glad my daughter sent me the photos. I am so pleased he had the courage to stand up there and do his part How special to see the eagle fly right over you! Topa - Zoe is so cute and what lovely views you have, and to spot the pretty bird. Love the graphic where the horss ran free! I've been so busy jus catching up on some. Jill - Love your snow view too. I don't like the cold but I could have stood just a little more snow I think it makes the air fresher. Penny - Hope Siobham is okay from the fright with the fireworks. the Arapahoe tribe is "troubling" KLJinOZ - How nice to have such a wonderful party.. I hope Tigsy will be okay! |

Sunnyland, That is really nice of the church to teach cultural diversity. The photo of the Rabbi in front of the Western Wall is very authentic. Your GS is adorable.

Carole - Topa - i'm so glad my GS had the special opportunity . Before I moved to Windtryst I lived for 19 years in an apartment in a Jewish lady's home. We had many very interesting talks. I loved her chicken soup and I surprised her once when I actually made her a Jewish Apple cake Topa - What a terrific eagle shot you captured KLJinOZ - Glad Tigsey is doing better. sounds like a good place for animals. Well, I guess I better call it a night!

Lily the Black Bear – UPDATE March 19, 2012 Field Day ![]() Juliet's female cubs - March 19, 2012 There is much to tell about the field day today, but we are too worn out to do it justice tonight. In short, Juliet has a male and two female cubs. The male is now strong enough to clamber over logs and awkwardly follow Juliet. The den has more water, which means they will not return to it even if the weather becomes more seasonal (i.e. cold and snowy). The 2 females didn’t look that mobile and certainly can’t climb trees. ![]() Juliet's flooded den - March 19, 2012 Jo and yearling Victoria left their den a little after 7 PM last night according to the trail cam there. Somehow, they managed to steal it and bring it into the den to provide the information on when they left. Ever wonder what the inside of a culvert looks like? Well, we have pictures… lots of pictures. Lynn bravely crawled in to retrieve the trail cam. ![]() Trail cam records Lynn in culvert - March 19, 2012 Ursula and her 2 yearling males Oso and Urso are roughly 200-300 yards from their den. June and her male and female yearlings Aspen and Aster are still in the vicinity of their den, according to their radio-signals, but are outside the den as shown by the active type of radio signal. Their den was in a lowland and is probably wet. We took pictures and video that we can include over the next few days. At Jewel's den today, the cubs were left alone for at least 2.5 hours. They quietly entertained themselves and then slept. Video is posted on YouTube. Thank you for all you do. —Lynn Rogers and Sue Mansfield, Biologists, Wildlife Research Institute and North American Bear Center |
