don't have time to type so.... here's the overview as I posted in Chil :)

Hello Everyone

I am alive and well .....

Just been CRAZY crazy at home and work......
I thought I had the work "routine" sorted out but not quite yet ....

It's busy but good busy and still learning (and here I thought my brain was full)

And today we have to run into the City to pick up some things for our troop's upcoming trip to Camden (eek) but we're going to the Aquarium and then spend the night on the USS NJ

I have a new great niece this week - it's a part of my family that I don't know well (looooooong story) but we are now keeping in touch and I wish Megan and her new daughter Emma all the best (she's a cutie indeed) and that now makes my brother a new grandpa LOL

My mother has been moved to a care facility - to the alzheimers area and so far she's doing good (way better than anyone had anticipated) I spoke to her on the phone Sunday and she was pretty good at that moment. My brother and I are hoping this is her last move - each change is very hard for her to adjust to I should be going there in late May/June so I'll get to see her new "home" then but I am hearing great updates so

Like I said a lot this week - and ES has a cold
We've had some wonderful weather but of course being at work I can only enjoy it from afar (and I have)

Anyway off we go - I'll check back (our dear friend is celebrating #60 and his 2 sons are having a surprise party tonight hehehehehe)

hugs to all
be well
hope everyone is super good
I owe lots of birthdays, etc. - I know .....

Penny, about little Owlet #5 this was one of the comments posted on the Starr Ranch site that is probably the more accurate:

"#5 got tired of being home alone and climbed out 2 nights ago There are differing opinions if #5 was sighted again. Mom brought food just after 5 fledged. Later she was screaming loudly for a bit. You will have to decide for yourself if the rasper is #5, but there have been 4 owlets since that night and Mom has made drops to those kids on the branches."

She was the smallest, most adorable and vulnerable, and still very downy. I have not seen her since she left the nest and don't feel optimistic that she made it back. :( Pitifully heartbreaking. <:3

I've also had some pretty disturbing news in the past couple of days about the health of Lori's Dad, and about my irreconcilably estranged brother's as well. Trying to digest it and determine how, or if, to react to my brother's condition, and hurting for Lori having to deal with her Dad's situation. :(

Wish I had more cheerful things to say but there's just "No Joy in Mudville" this week. :'(

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, Kris. It seems as though those around you are having a lot of health issues. I am sorry for Lori and her father, as well as the ongoing issues with Ed. Also for your brother - it is difficult when you are estranged from a family member. I'm hoping that spring will bring some joy to your life. :Hugs:

Linda, thank you for your much appreciated comments. :Hugs: It is hard, especially when being so far away, to have to deal with the blows that life can throw. At least Spring is bursting out joyously everywhere here and as I write the Blackbirds are singing a chorus of Nightsongs that fill the air. <3

Seems like I don't get much time to do anything these days besides work and sleep. I have been so tired lately, probably due to the weather changing all the time and my allergies being in full bloom! UGH! My ears are still plugged up but the dr. thinks the eustation tubes are swollen as are my nasal passages so I am being diligent about using my allergy meds. So we shall see.
Also, when I got weighed the dr. told me I had lost 10 lbs!! Wooohooooo! I quit drinking sodas and am TRYING to eat better with less desserts and snacks as I want to keep it up. 10 lbs doesn't sound like much especially when as heavy as I am but I think about it like losing 2 5 lb. bags of sugar and it helps me to realize it really is a lot!

Carole...I have tried to get on at least once or twice to see the nest updates and pics and loving everyone of them! I can't believe how big all the chicklets are getting! :) Hope you are still enjoying Fla.

Deb......congrats on the new niece :) I know what you mean about busy-ness! Have a great time on the USS NJ! Sounds like a great experience! Is this with the scouts?

Penny....I love reading your posts with all your little graphics you use :) Adds so much!

Kris... :Hugs: :Hugs: :Hugs: So hard when family members are not doing well and we can't be there to help. LIfe is so hard sometimes when it throws us those curveballs. *sigh* I will be praying for your family and for you.

Haven't had a chance to really read this past weeks posts but will try to catch up.

Well, last but not least, it is OFFICIAL!! As of June 6, 2012, I will be RETIRED!!!! Jim and I went to the CalPERS (California Public Employees Retirement System) office to have a one on one meeting with one of their agents and I turned in my application. Whew! Glad all that is over! Now I just have to turn in my application to get in on the retirement incentive that our district is offering. I am soooooo excited! >O< >O< >O< Upon leaving the office I told Jim all I wanted to do was SHOUT!! rofl I will really miss the kids I am sure but I can always go visit :) What I won't miss is dealing with all the bureaucratic BS, the problem parents, the problem children (I had to suspend a 2nd grader the other day because he got angry, wouldn't stay in timeout..everytime I turned around he would go off and play, and then called me a big fat jerkhead :8O: ), doing a lesson calendar every month, worrying at the beginning of every new school year about whether or not I will be moved or hrs. cut, etc, getting up at the BUTTCRACK OF DAWN 5 days a week, and I am sure there will be other things I can't think of right now that I won't miss... rofl But there are many many more things that I will miss :(

Sorry this was so long, just a lot going on and a lot I have missed here :) But just think, after June 6th I can be here more often, watch the nests more, etc. :)^ :)^

Karen - No post is too long when there is so much good news and exciting things happening. I am thrilled that you will be retiring after all the years you have dedicated to teaching. Your official retirement day is June 6th which is D-Day, so we will have to now call it DEAR KAREN DAY rofl , a new beginning to lots of good things. More time to enjoy our eagles and all the new babies which will be arriving soon ^"^ ^"^
