 2012 Nest Adoption Challenge - April 1 - June 1, 2012 Yes it's that time of year - over the next several days, more information will be available! Mom and Dad Eagles throughout the Channel Islands are doing their job (and mighty well I might add) so now it's time for us to do ours!  Cruzers It is 'freezing' here today 2C/36F and pouring   Siobhan had another anxiety attack  last night before we got a humongous lightning storm. The downpour was unbelievable and the forked and blanket lightning was really lighting up the night sky. My yard critters survived the deluge  but I was unable to use the computer so I've posted the Lily Update at the end of yesterday's chat. It's got lots of  's and news.

Carole I just  those Alcoa 's of the parents tandem feeding the puddle of and can't believe how big the Sequoyah  are now  Doesn't the zoomed out view of the Decorah nest look like a Gramma Moses painting? The RSH at WCV is such a cutie pie

Deb that person has posted videos of the  on her porch before I can't believe that she doesn't worry about her cats...and even more interesting is the highway on the left. There is a lot of noisy truck traffic on it, so maybe the is just waiting for some road kill  Do you think she realizes that eagles DO eat cats?

You must be right Deb because when she told the fox it couldn't 'come' in, it picked up it's ears just like a dog would...it knew that word  She is not doing that or fox any favors and if she is feeding the that is totally against the law

Good morning Yep, still morning where I am From what Dr. Sharpe said last night, I doubt that the eagle would carry off that cat for food. They can't carry more than 5 lbs. and when they would probably eat a cat is when it was already dead. Cool video and I want to move there, also!  But she could get in trouble if she is feeding those wild animals. Wonder if she knows that. Did the egg hatch on TH and the chick not make it?? I just got on here. Nevermind...I see that it didn't make it Poor little thing Really enjoyed the talk with Dr. S last night despite the technical difficulties Liked that he was able to be on cam and speak to us instead of having to type the answers. Chat moves too fast to read otherwise sometimes And having the mods pause chat for questions to be answered is great idea, also. That way no ones ??s get missed.
