So sorry to hear about Robert's Mom Cheryl. These are the most difficult times for families. Big :Hugs: for all of you.

Too bad about Michael losing his job. Although it must seem devastating at the time often it can be the beginning of something so much better. I hope he is successful whatever he decides to do.

Kris - I took these photos for you when I was playing golf yesterday. These ravens are so clever, they raided someone's golfcart for food while they were playing golf, rofl I watched in awe.

Aww, Carole, thanks for thinking of me with the Ravens. Love the pics. :Hugs: They are one of the most intelligent Birds and you know how I love those corvids.

It has just made my day, week, and maybe even month, that Lady returned! :**: :><:

Penny, #4 does look a bit "puffy" in that pic. :P Maybe she's expecting afterall. :X:

Poor Ed's been feeling so unwell and in so much pain that he's been in bed most of the afternoon. :'( He just got up at 6pm. His condition is so variable, unpredictable, and unforgiving. :( And very worrying. :( With Lori's distressing health problem, her Dad's, and my brother's dire condition (differences aside), it all has been keeping me a bit quiet too. :( Having Lady return, and the new :^: :^: at WE and TH is very heartening. <3

We're having a bit of a "petrol" crisis here at the moment with a strike by fuel drivers threatened. I haven't seen Gas Lines since the 70s :8O: but we've even have them here in our little nearby village this week. We did a bit of "Panic Buying" ourselves today and were the last car let into the station before the "Closed" sign and tape barrier and went up because they were out of gas. I've since read that the drivers won't strike until after Easter but it's front page news on the BBC website. If I figured correctly, gas is almost the equivalent of $10 a gallon. It's sold by the liter here which is about 1.45 per liter at the moment (in pounds). At 3.79 liters per gallon and considering the exchange rate, that adds up to just under $10 per gallon, I think. :8O:

What excitement on Loch of Lowes! This is the latest update, hot off the presses:
:P

"What a day at the Loch of the Lowes Osprey nest! I have personally never known so much happen in a single day with the birds, and all the excitement, media interest and extra visitors has been quite a wonderful whirlwind!

To recap: our resident female arrived at 8.31 this morning, and was joined on the nest around 12noon by an unringed male. Add to this a third Osprey also seen flying around the nest and it has sometimes been hard to keep up with all the action.

Since my last post, there have been two fish deliveries by the new male to our female on the nest, and several sticks too- classic instinctive courtship behaviour. I lost count of mating attempts at about 16, and sometimes his technique left a little to be desired, but there certainly have been some successful ones.

The fact that our newly arrived female osprey has accepted advances from this new (presumably) young male is in itself somewhat unusual: most often the birds will wait for their established partners to arrive and only accept advances from other birds if their usual mate is very late, or does not turn up at all. That said, these “extra marital” matings are probably more common than we like to think and are proof of the strength of the hormonally controlled breeding instinct.

However, if her usual mate, know as Green 7Y does turn up soon, he is likely to chase off the younger bird and reclaim the nest and his mate. This can lead to problems if there are already eggs laid etc as in such cases, the second male can sometimes destroy eggs which he hasn’t ‘fathered’- such as in the famous Loch Garten case a few years back.

There is no way of knowing just if and when Green 7Y might turn up, so we don’t know how this will all turn out: only that watching it all unfold will be very exciting!

P.S. make that three fish- thats some pike he just brought in alive and it gave him a bite!"

G'day peeps, my Saturday, lovely autumn day today, daylight savings clock adjustments tonight. Friday Twilight Sail Races finished last night on a fizzer, the wind died the last 30min of the race and we didnt make the finish line. The sunset however was magnificent, so worth being on the water.

Thank you ladies for the updates on WC and BEs, I so enjoy reading about them, and your osprey too Kris. I am sending you hugs for your trials and heartaches with health issues. :Hugs:

Petrol (gas) cost here in Oz is about the same @$1.50 per litre but with our exchange rate with the US dollar, we are in front still.

What does your son Matthew do Cheryl (maybe Australia has a job for him!)

Exciting day for you Cathy, and looking forward to more photos later (much later) of the day, no doubt you will be exhausted.

I have Open House again today from 2:15 for 30 minutes, hopefully someone will walk through the door and BUY my place
:X:

Whether you are an engineer or not, you have to be amazed at these designs and the concepts behind this technology.

You gotta see this furniture for limited space.

Impressive technology-

Screencap Deejay

She is laying on the nest right now. I don't think Pa cares who gives him an egg and with the window of breeding season starting to close there, at this point neither do I, or about 50,000 other cam watchers rofl

What else could possibly happen
