For those who didn't see, I posted late last night that Cat's husband had left me a voicemail saying that she did not get to come home yesterday. He didn't go into detail, but there must have been some kind of setback. I will try to call him later today and see how she is doing.

Pneumonia can be serious. I've heard of several cases this year. My prayers are with Catm to heal. |

Beautiful series of hatching pics in your NAC post Carole ![]() I also love to see the eggs all in a row...when the Dad's incubate they leave them in a row and when the Mom's do they are all in a cluster. I'm thinking this is because the females have a much larger brood patch than the Dad's do ![]() It's such a shame about the Colorado After such a struggle to hatch and then to have that happen ![]() Is that the nest at Vian? The one at Sooner Lake nest had three eggs, one hatched, second hatched and a couple days later disappeared and the third egg wasn't viable. So there is one eaglet left. TH lost a too and then there was the Richmond nest where the two were attacked and killed by the rogue eagle and the one Cindy and Bear watched where the wind damaged the nests and the disappeared It's harsh in nature

Deb, Panera! You're breakin' my heart! We had one within walking distance in Santa Monica. We finally warmed up to it after it replaced the decades long Polly's Pies that had been there previously. Polly's had the best pies for miles around and it was a sad day when it was gone. I had to start baking my own Pumpkin pies again for Thanksgiving. Carole, great hatching sequence in your wonderful NAC post. Sending prayers and positive thoughts to CatM that she's soon resting and recovering at home. Today is my beloved Kiddle's 48th birthday and I'm even sadder to be so far from her today. I'm also worrying about the dire surgery my brother is undergoing today. There is "no love lost" there but he's my brother and I want it to go well for him. His badly damaged aorta is being reinforced with some kind of a "sleeve". The doctor has only done the procedure 5 times, with four successes, according to him. He told my Uncle his body temp would be "lowered to 50 degrees" and he'd be "shocked back to life" afterward. I found no such procedure in internet searches, and he's known for his exaggerations and untruths so I don't know what to think. I just hope all goes well whatever the case. A little Cruzer Mojo would be much appreciated.

Kris the 'sleeve' procedure sounds like a 'stent' is being inserted in your brother's aorta. if it is, that is quite a common 'minor' operation. My Mom has had that done twice so far because of her diabetes. She's 91 now so doubt that will ever be done again for her ![]() Hope your brother's operation goes well today and to Lori ![]() |
