Female #4 just came back but Pa still on his nest ![]() 'Here is yesterday's late afternoon events with Dad Norfolk, #4, the intruding eagle, and some closeups of the two on the nest. It lasted a long time, and is all on there, including the closeups of #4 on a nearby branch at the end. What a day for all of them.' ![]() for video by Dancelady (12:50)

Kris about #4's flattened head look I think she will appear more presentable when her feathers whiten more. I'm still rooting for #3 too though

There was a very sweet story in our local paper yesterday about a calf that was rescued from some mud, out in the middle of nowhere in New Mexico. I tried to cut and paste the story here, but it lost much of its formatting. If you would like to read it, go here http://www.abqjournal.com/main/2012/04/09/upfront/one-lucky-calf.html and use my user name lm8218817 and my password lmorton. In December a couple of guys where riding their ATVs literally miles and miles from everywhere when they came across this calf and the probable mother cow stuck in the mud. The mother had died and the calf was almost dead. Vultures were circling above. They rescued it from the mud, one of them carried it back to civilization on his ATV, and they called the county to come help them with it. The calf was nursed back to health and is now a pet. One of the guys videoed most of the rescue on his cell phone, and the video is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaLNleeBc5c&feature=youtu.be More video here, and you can see the beautiful baby as he is now. http://web.mac.com/samuelstudios/505_Cam/Ferdinand_Calf_Rescue.html There really are some kind people out there who do things they don't have to! |

This is a terrible video of a group of cormorant birds feeding off shore. I've been walking Zoey on the beach lately. Something new for me because Zoey LOVES to run free.

G'day peeps! My HumpDay Wednesday, another very autumn day, chilly and chance of rain. Some heavy clouds out there. And its a Race Sail day (have my wet weather gear!). Tigsy didnt want to go out this morning, so I left him curled up on the sofa. Leo of course was scampering around the gardens at 6.30am Working from the office today.Carole, love the graphics today, nicely put together. Love seeing all the different nests portrayed. Kris, do you have a phone to call your Uncle? I use a cheapo international phone card that allows calls to the USA at .03 a minute! How is Lori? for Lady! What a nice SAVE story Linda. Not sure about having a cow for pet though! Fred has a great Easter hat! Cathy, I really like Rachel's boyfriend. Rob is in his last year of University too, Honors year, very bright. Also has a part time job as a Presenter (on Economics! ) to highschools and other forums, so he is very well spoken. Here is a picture of them, Spring Formal (so Oct 2011, like I said, I'm the last to know!)![]() |
