After today's mail and some generous donations, we have reached $3525, so 3 nests have been adopted and 3 of the chicks will be named by supporters.

How can you help the eagles?
How can you be a part of the 2012 Nest Adoption Challenge?

Put a Personal Message Below One of Our Live Cameras

You can help IWS continue to bring you the live eagle cams by becoming a nest cam sponsor. For a tax-deductible donation of $25/day you can select the date and camera you would like to sponsor. Your name/business name and message will be placed on the camera web page on the date of your choice. You can also sponsor a nest for 7 days for $125. Dates do not need to be consecutive, you do not have to sponsor the same nest every day, and your message can change daily. Give a sponsorship as a gift or to recognize that special date or occasion. It's a great way to show your support!

There is even a calendar link so that you can easily view what cameras are open for sponsorship on what days :)

Click on the above nest image for more information

And thank you for your support

WCV BALD EAGLE UPDATES.......

April 4 update

Bald Eagle #11-0230 continues to live with Accomack County Bald Eagle #11-2393; both birds have moved to various flight pens throughout the winter depending on what pens are needed for other recovering patients. Currently they are both being housed in A2. Placement options are still being considered.

April 11 update

Bald Eagle #11-0230 will be placed as an education bird at Skymasters Wildlife Foundation, in conjunction with John Hutchings Museum of Natural History, in Lehi, Utah. Permitting paperwork often takes several months to finalize, so the Wildlife Center staff anticipate that the eagle will remain at the Center for a few more months.

In the meantime, the eagle is being housed in A2. The veterinary team continues to check the eagle’s feet and feathers every two weeks. The eagle has a set of protective “bumpers” on its carpi [wrists] to prevent any bumps and bruises when it is caught up for these checks.

Jeanne, what a fabulous NAC post! :)^ And such a wonderful spotlight on the inherent spirit of the smallest of Eaglets to succeed and survive against the seeming odds like precious WE #3!

Ozzie, what a gorgeous couple Rachel and Rob make. <3 To answer your suggestion to call my Uncle: if he were not one of the most critical, sanctimonious, disparaging of anything he doesn't approve of members of "Mitt Romney's faith", I would call him, but I don't need to expose myself to that. (No offense intended to the moderate and less dogmatic of its members) An email about the possibly terminal condition of my brother, who by overwhelmingly justifiable choice I have no contact with, is about all the "arms length" contact I want to have with him. The fact he hasn't even let me know if my scurrilous brother survived the surgery or not, after my email inquiries, speaks of his sensitivity. :( He's my Father's brother and one of my only surviving family members, and I've kept a distant contact with him out of some sort of guilty obligation.

On the bright side it's been a glorious day of Sun, clouds, intermittent showers, and changing light on the glowing Spring green hills today. :D

This was our afternoon view of the sky that brought Suns splashed showery Spring weather through the day.

US Army in France, 1944 to 45.
The is about ten minutes long, but it is some great WWII color film.
Those French Citizens really show their gratitude for The US Army's Presents!
