to all our eagle friends - thank you for your support and positive thoughts during these times - particularly for ES

when I have done interviews for IWS for Animal Planet, the papers and the film crew - they could not grasp the "community" that has grown amongst the people who wtach and support the nests ....... it is hard to put into words for sure but it truly heartfelt and even though we live many, many miles apart - all over the world - we are a "community"

G'day peeps, been busy and away for what seems too long, especially with the bad news. On the other hand, Deb, you sound very upbeat about ES's situation. Maybe its the door to moving inter-State, didnt you talk about that once? My hopes go out for you two.
I cant watch the MaryO posted... sigh.

LOVELY PRESENTATION MICHELE, love the Earth Day theme.

Well, Open (sale) House today for us was a fizzer, but its school holidays...

Tomorrow is Bob's son's 31st Birthday, so Choc fudge cake on the menu. :Yum: All the boys like Mexican food too, so thats on the menu

Today is my mother's birthday.... I had a florist deliver an orchid... and Rachel is stopping by later so we can call her.

We took Rachel and John out for dinner last night on the Santa Barbara Pier.
I'm trying to visit her as much as possible before she has the baby.
Her due date is May 4th. I'm enjoying her pregnancy, she's ready to have the baby. Rachels still teaching up to her due date, or two more weeks, which ever is first. :) She was exhausted last night because it's parent teacher week and she has been in the classroom from 7 am until 7 pm.

Michele, another beautifully presented post. :><:

If events on the TH nest weren't bad enough Phoebe's latest clutch seems to have been lost when a presumed Cooper's Hawk attacked the nest on the 16th. A fledgeling has been spotted on the webcam that may be a survivor but it's unclear. <:3 :candle: Phoebe is already nestorating a past nest and expected to lay more eggs in the next days. Wish my human emotions would allow me to pick up and keep going like that sometimes. :(

Yesterday while gardening in the rear raised beds I spotted a tiny baby Blue Tit on the ground near the house. I must have scared the little fledgeling from the bush near the nesting box. He was so tiny, smaller than a Hummingbird, so colorful, beautiful, and so vulnerable. I picked him up in cupped hands and placed him in the bush near the box, where he flew to a nearby branch, and then I went inside so the parents could find him. They did shortly and I saw him later with them so I knew he was okay. <3
A snagged pic of a baby Blue Tit. (So Big! Sorry!)

Our dear Daffy Duck, the white female mated to a wild Mallard, has nested at the end of our yard on the edge of the canal. I've observed the direction she's gone after coming here for food and walking down the lane at the canal edge I very carefully sneaked a peek at where I thought her nest was and managed find it and get this pic; one wide angle and a closer cropping. It's well below the street level of our small lane, right on the water's edge and is not in the safest place but seems safe enough from Cats at least. :X: You can see her yellow orange beak in the close up. She looked so dear and vulnerable sitting there in her bright whiteness hiding among the reeds. Prayers for hers and her nestlings' safety. Posted Image

BTW: We asked the neighbor who lives behind us about the memorial plaque Ed found in our garden and learned it was a more recent addition than the passing of the person. It does look much less weathered than what after 25 years you might expect. The man's widow, who lived here until 4 years ago when she died, had it made on a fairly recent anniversary of his passing, possibly in 2007. <3 Our landladies are his daughters.

Almost forgot to add this pic of four Goldfinches on the patio, taken through the front window. They're one of the smallest and most colorful British Birds. So colorful in fact that in Victorian times they were almost wiped out by people catching them almost to extinction for caged pets. :( I recently saw one gathering some of the Sheep's wool I hung out in the garden for nesting material.

Sorry for my manic seeming posts but, while your day is just getting underway mine is at dinner time and I might not get back again before bedtime here.

Deb, omigoodness, my heart is breaking for you and Gary. <:3 Indeed, any company would be extremely fortunate to have someone with Gary's talent, on their staff. My prayers are with both of you as you plan for the future. I wish I had a magic wand that I could wave, and magically set everything right for the two of you. :Hugs:

Kris, your postings never sound manic....they are always so much fun for me to read, and I always love the pix that you post showing the countryside, and your house on the canal. Just keep 'em comin'...... :Hugs: :Hugs:

I had this ginormously long post going, when a cat fight broke out right outside my spare bedroom/office window. There's a kitty in the neighborhood who I think belongs to someone, and roams the neighborhood and taunts the other homebody kittehs.....the jerk!!! Kikiyo was languishing on the brick ledge outside my office window, when this cat tried sneaking up on her, by crawling through our low lying bushes. Fortunately, when I yelled at the cat through the window, the cat took off......but in the meantime, I lost my post. I'm not sure what I did, but <POOF> it was gone.
At least my kittehh's safe....that's all that really matters.

Carole, my gosh those eaglets are growing in leaps and bounds!!! It always amazes me how quickly they grow up!!! ^"^

Topa, Rachel is sooooo beautiful, and your sil is such a handsome fella.....he just towers over her!!! You must be on pins and needles anticipating the birth of your grandbaby....I know I would be too!!!

Ozzie, :bday: A Very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your Mom!!! :bday: I'm so sorry the turn out for your Open House was so disappointing. You go through all that effort to spiff it up, and no one shows up. Drat!!!

Hi Penny, how're you doing?!?! I've been playing catch up on the posts, and have so enjoyed reading the Lily the Bear posts....and of course, all of the beautiful graphics you post each day. I don't know how you find them. It seems whenever I'm in search of neat graphics, I end up catching a .....virus. I swear, I'm snake bit.
