Kris the blue tit video is just too cute <3

I read that the newbie male Osprey has almost drowned a couple of times trying to carry off huge fish after snagging them in the loch :o He still isn't sharing enough with the female either

I know Penny!, he seems impetuous and inexperienced. He's been bitten by big Pike's he's brought to the nest alive! An experienced Raptor seems to bite the head off a Fish so it doesn't thrash around in the nest and do damage. Hopefully he's a fast learner and doesn't drown trying to fulfill his biological imperative. :X: She's also apparently teaching him to share. :P

G'day peeps, ANZAC Day. Posted Image

Clear, beautiful, breezy, I should be sailing!

Carole, very nice graphics for the NAC today.

I too hope they catch the culprits.

Lovely video of the tit Kris. Did you see this NY TImes article?
Ravens have the ability to recognize old friends, a new study reports. And just like humans, they react negatively when seeing a foe.

Good luck for Gary on his interview! :X:

penny sounds like Mr. Osprey needs to be a little less macho :)
ah read on to Kris' info ........ just hope he's a bit more careful in his fishing efforts

wow jill don't know what to think of your post - I try not to click on anything except what I'm specifically looking for - regular sites I visit ...... I ignore those ads and solicitations! I sent to ES to have a look

speaking of which - his interview went very well today - lots of things have dropped onto his plate yesterday and today --- we're hoping for a good/quick outcome so we can move forward ..... I'll let ya know as we know
thanks for the positive thoughts!

well I get home at my normal time but with ES home - he's on top of getting dinner ready, etc. so after we ate, we decided to make quick ride to beach for walk - getting too late for whole 5 miles so we only did 1/2 plus strolled down to the water which was really rolling in due to the storm :)

here's a few photos ....

the sun was starting to sink off in the distance

Lily the Black Bear – UPDATE April 24, 2012

Bears Being Spotted

Posted Image :clk:
Dot - April 24, 2012

Today, we began getting reports from people seeing study bears. 25-year-old Shadow and her 3 yearlings were seen as well as 4-year-old Jo and her yearling Victoria. 2-year-old Sharon was spotted—still with her bright ribbons from last fall. June and her yearlings were also on the move but still deep in the boonies.

Dot looks back - April 24, 2012

Mothers with cubs mostly laid low. Juliet, Jewel, and Dot continued to confine their activities to small areas, but Cookie and her cubs moved 0.64 mile after staying in a small area for the last few days. No mothers with cubs were spotted, as is usual in early spring when the cubs are less mobile. Sue made a long trek to Dot today to give her a new GPS unit after the other one quit prematurely.

A lively spontaneous fundraiser took place on Lily the Black Bear Facebook page on November 21. Although the fundraiser thread was accidentally deleted, we did catch some of the fun posts as it was happening and thank you for it.

Thank you for all you do.

Good Morning. So sad about the Whooper, idiot people! Killing for 'sport' is simply murder, and it breaks my heart. Every creature has the right to live in peace. Thanks for the fabulous NAC posts and graphics, I just love them.
