Today is the one year anniversary of the day Lady Legacy at Norfolk was killed ![]() ![]() Mom's Spirit Watching over her Eaglets (2:46) ![]() Image of her statue at the Eagle Tribute Plaza in Norfolk Botanical Garden by Carol Senechal This poem was also featured in the 2012 'Garden of Eagles' calendar - on the Farewell page. OUR LADY OF THE GARDEN April 26, 2011 The Great Spirit whispered to her, Your time here is done my child I will take you to your spirit home You have been freed of the bonds to Mother Earth And you will be lifted up on the wings of the Creator You have honored this world with your many children You shall live on in them as long as the rivers flow Your spirit, your courage, your wisdom, your legacy Has been given to them so they may soar on the winds And awaken the spirits in the mortals below Your destiny was written with your first breath of life Your journey is now over; it is time to come home. - Evelyn Pignataro Lots of memories, videos and 's being re-posted over there today.

WCV Update on NX April 26 update NX was caught-up this morning and brought into the hospital so that the DGIF eagle biologist and staff could fit her with her GPS transmitter. First, NX’s feet were wrapped with vet wrap — to keep everyone safe during the process! The fitting went well, and NX was returned to A1 with her Bald Eagle “roommate”.

WooooHooooo DEB!!! I'm thrilled to hear the news of Gary getting a job with his old boss....and being in demand for the job in LI. I swear, the universe has shifted, and today seems to be a day of wonderful gifts. I am so happy for the two of you. Cheryl, AMAZING NAC post.....I absolutely love your graphics, and I love the back story of the Anacapa Oak Canyon pair. Your post just knocked my socks off.

Carole, wonderful news of the two chicklets at White Rock nest in B.C. They look so precious and tiny little fuzz balls. Penny, those cookies are hysterical!!! You are on a roll!!! Speaking of fuzz balls, those Red Tail Hawk chicklets are adorable too.

Koala now on endangered list The national icon is dwindling because of the combined pressures of development in its habitat, drought, climate change and from the disease chlamydia. Hi everybody. Likely everyone has gone to bed now. Sorry I didn't get on here until now. Thank you so much for the comments about the Anacapa presentation. When I was working on it for the Meet the Adult Pairs thread Robert said it would be a good one for the fundraiser, too. That's actually how the MTAP thread got started. I featured many of the main nests during our 2007 NAC. Then I think it was Cumbrian who asked me to make them into a permanent thread. I'll have a few more new pairs to work on once the NAC is over. OK, has anybody else seen this post by Peter over in the NAC thread? "I'll be away on Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa for the next 2 weeks, so this will be the last update until I return. As of this morning we have raised $11,077. Thanks again for your hard work and to those that have contributed so far."
