Good Morning from Avery Land. This Avery photo was taken last night. She is looking much more relaxed. Because they wanted to be surprised they didn't know if they were having a girl or boy, so they didn't buy baby clothes. I went to Baby's R Us last night and got a few girlie things. I'm going to SB with dinner and the clothes tonight. I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot more time in Santa Barbara. ![]() ![]()

PeepsTopa I never get tired of seeing that of Limuw and Julie is a perfect spokeswoman for the Chumash people I hadn't seen her explanation of the creation before and it is so interesting as are all the legends of the Native peoples of the America's. Thanks for bringing her back ![]() You are just going to have the best time spoiling your newest family member. Avery is going to be on the 'best dressed' list for sure

Oh, my gosh, Topa, girl clothes!!!!!!!!! I missed that so much with two boys. All the things you chose look so cute and pretty. I liked the kitty toy with the 'A' on it that was posing beside Avery in one of your pictures the other day. Did somebody make it? Enjoy your family time today and keep on posting those photos. I love seeing them. Great job on your NAC presentation. It was so informative. Julie is a treasure. I remember her poem when we lost dear Limuw. We did have a huge rainstorm last night. I knew we had to stay calm so that the dogs would not become hyper every time there is lightning and thunder. They were jumpy, though. I took flashlights, a phone, a crank radio and some other things and put them in our fruit cellar. It is large because it is under our big front porch. We took the patio umbrella down but it was really scary (for me, not Robert) being out there. What a black, black sky. Jeanne, your MOMA description brought back my memories of seeing Van Gogh's works in Paris. There is also an irises one in Ottawa that I have seen. I thought the same thing when I stood and looked at his art, that the brush strokes seem to have a life of their own, almost as if they were moving. He is one of my favourite artists. What a tortured soul he was, though. Penny, we saw the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, too. Our experience seems so much like how you described yours. We rushed right through the museum as soon as it opened and went through the gallery of humungous paintings as you described. We got to the Mona Lisa before anybody else and got a couple of half-decent pictures before everybody got there. Next we followed the map and saw the Winged Victory before anyone else was on the stairs. I'll never forget those experiences. Of course after that we spent 4 hours that day looking at everything and another 4 hours later that week. It was art overload but I loved it. My absolute favourite memory, though, is when we went to the Musee d'Orsay when it opened. Again we zoomed to the gallery that I wanted to see first. It was the Impressionists' gallery. I stood there and just cried. I had just overwhelming joy at finally being able to see paintings I had loved since high school. So Jeanne, thank you!!! I think the photo of you with Van Gogh's art is absolutely perfect.

One of the grocery stores has huge flower baskets on sale for $7.97, starting today. We went early. I intended to buy 4 but they were so full and gorgeous that I bought 10. I'm going to take them out of the white plastic hanging baskets and put them in my own baskets and pots. It's too early to put them outside but I'm ready! Usually I buy all the little plants and put them in my baskets myself. These were so pretty that it just wasn't worth doing it myself. |

Cheryl your descriptions of seeing the works of art at the Louvre were just like a trip down memory lane for me. We were not as smart as you about being there first thing and we didn't get to the Musee d'Orsay which was really unfortunate. The worst of all is that DH had his computer crash and we lost all the pics that he hadn't transfered to an external drive We did receive word this week that a lawsuit we've been involved in for over 2 years is finally at an end so we can take another trip to Europe and see what we missed the last time

Prayers and Cruzer Mojo needed for the Minnesota Bound eaglet who is "stuck" in the nest. Help is on the way to rescue it *Eaglet Update* We have been in contact with our eagle experts at the National Eagle Center and the Raptor Center. Together we are all monitoring this situation and working to figure out the best way to help the trapped eaglet. Please be patient and know that we are doing all that we can at this time. * Trapped Eaglet Update* - we are working with the USFWS, the Raptor Center and the Eagle Center to help the trapped eaglet. Before anything can be done, the USFWS must issue a permit. Once we receive this, we will move forward with the best solution as indicated by the experts. Stay tuned for further updates. OK I just got off the phone with the State people in MN, he told me that they have the permit and as soon as they get the tree climber in position they will be head out to the nest to rescue the eaglet. The state people has been watching the site on their computer is being up to date on what is going on and passing that onto the people that need to know. He told me that it will 3 to four more hours but help is on it way. ![]() Live cam link... http://www.mnbound.com/live-eagle-cam/ |
