Thanks for the links regarding squirrel repellant Kris I didn't see it until after I bought some Chem Free Critter Ridder though. it repels, dogs, cats, raccoons, skunks and groundhogs and smells strongly of black pepper which is one of the ingredients. I hope it works on keeping the neighbors cats away from the area they use under my front windows. We went to a few big nurseries today and picked up some other chemical free repellants for common spider mites, aphids and white fly as well to treat plants we are buying. One lady who was waiting to pay for her plants told me she boils 3 complete heads of garlic in a gallon of water and uses that liquid for spraying on plants and the soil to get rid of any bugs. I found out that yesterday while we were downtown at the fashion event that there was an unbelieveable hail storm here which left the ground white with hail stones. Now I understand why almost everything is so damaged. I could totally kick myself for planting so many before that storm and not putting all the rest of the plants into the garage Next time I'll listen to my gut feeling

We took a walk in nearby Westwoods yesterday and caught the end of the Bluebells blooming and the new neon green foliage of the deciduous trees. No color manipulation at all, it really was that glowing green.![]() Kris this is the most ethereal of the forest trees and their carpet of blubells. It's simply stunning

![]() we had a looooong drive back - traffic was just crazy all the way back ![]() and at Conowingo we got stuck in a dam re-surfact project - oh no.... but in the end - well worth the wait we actually saw 5 eagles flying around the bridge on 95 but camera was in back of car - darn .... but at the dam - we saw lots of fishing - they were just opening the gates to release water when we got there - phooey - but that soon "kicked up" fish and the eagles were right on it! click above to see a few photos of today .... the sky was clouding over so we lost the best background but we still saw eagles ![]() off to bed - see ya tomorrow! |

Lily the Black Bear – UPDATE May 20, 2012 A Non-Update ![]() Can you find the 'sundog' in this sunset? - May 20, 2012 The bears keep us running—changing batteries, checking for family break-up, or looking for accompanying males. Tonight the ‘bear crew’ of Planet Earth Live has us running off for a relaxing time with all those who have worked so hard on the series. So, no formal update tonight. A video of Jewel and family on May 17 is posted on YouTube. Thank you for all you do! —Lynn Rogers and Sue Mansfield, Biologists, Wildlife Research Institute and North American Bear Center[ |
