BEGINS NEWS READINGS: Peaceful protests have broken out across the state, from Stalingrad, Kremlin, to the depths of Sibria. Men and women, despite being threatened by force to stop, continued to demand that the USR stop the fascist states of the CSTO from attacking their friend and comrade state Themata. Chairman Stalin urged the men and women to return to their homes, but to no avail. Finally, three orphans said that their parents were killed by Chenobereg immigrants, who fled their fascist state to live in freedom and safety of the USR, but were unable to adapt to the civilized world of the Soviet State, and unknown to them, murder is illegal in the USR, unlike Chernobereg, where it is a part of every day life. After the children were calmed down with tales from the mighty Soviet Revolution, reluctantly, Chairman Stalin must consider a war with CSTO, for the right of the people, and the safety of orphans and children worldwide, as well as his Comrades in Themata.  Protesters demanding war for the good of the People! Corruption is ending in the USR, with 13 more leading generals of the Red army charged with crimes against the state and Stalin. With these men, if you could call them men, gone from the world and safely shot, the USR is becoming a safer place. In other news, the last Church of the followers of Earagon in the USR was closed today, due to lack of members. Even though 50 years ago 8% of all religious followers were Earagon, it is not known where these people have gone. It is known that many of them tried to overthrow Chairman Stalin during the terrorist attacks and were promptly shot, but the remainder seemed to have disappeared to a unknown location. Poverty levels continue to drop, as more and more people join the working class. It is expected in 5 short years we will become a Communist paradise where every man is equal, and we have Chairman Stalin to thank every step of the way there. BEGIN NEWS READINGS: Hundreds of thousands of brave men have been conscripted in the armed forces, for what nobody knows. As more and more aircraft and tanks are being produced, the USR arsenal is growing and growing, the majority of supplies is being sent south, towards the rough mountains that inhabit the area south of the USR. With railroads being constructed to ease trading with Reichtopia and surrounding states, perhaps these tanks could be the upgrade Stalin promised the Kaiser's military. Whatever the reason, production across the state has skyrocketed.  T-90 tanks awaiting last minute touch ups before being sent away. Further protests against CSTO imperialism have been staged across the state. Flags of these states have been burned in every major city in USR. Where flags to burn ran out the government handed out choir booklets and the crowds all sang the Anthem of the Might United Soviet Russia. Other News: The Chernoberge Embassy was closed and it's diplomats forced to return home. BEGIN NEWS READINGS: After socking information from the new Free Market alliance, whose main goals include the destruction of all Communist states, the nation demanded blood. Pictures of Lions, the national animal of Great Jonathania, were burn in the streets. After pictures ran out, the government handed out the flags of Albanor and Great Jonathania. A comedian was sent out to calm the crowd. His jokes include: "Hey guys have you heard of Great Jonathania?" "You mean that speck of dust next to Elipdia?" "Have you seen the Free Market Alliance's total military? It costs the government most of their money and is made of 50 year old tanks!" "Have you seen any Great Jonathania tourists? No, because their planes break after take off!" "Did you know that Great Jonathania is a country? Neither did I." The Comedian was met with standing ovation, followed by the singing of the national anthem by all. Such hatred has not been seen before, even towards the CSTO attacking Themata. The Soviet government refuses to comment on the situation, besides calling the alliance a "embarrassing excuse for a alliance that will soon be ended." In Other News the Fourth Five year plan has been completed! Good Job Comrades! The Soviet Navy finishes it's 18th Typhoon class-ballistic submarine! Our nation grows stronger! Movement of troops between Reichtopia and USR continues, with high-speed railroads continuing to be constructed to aid the movement and ease trade. BEGIN NEWS READINGS: Greater Celisia No longer recognizes USR! With the closure of relations between the USR and Greater Celisia, the situations between Warsaw and FMA is deteriorating rapidly. With more and more protests demanding war with FMA, something strange occurred. For once the leader of a CSTO member, Quinntopia, was placed among communist banners surrounding a statue of Stalin. While it was a small photo placed near the back, it still shows the rapid change in attitude towards the USR's enemies, particularly away from the CSTO and towards the FMA, now commonly called the Fascist Military Alliance in Stalingrad. BEGIN NEWS READINGS Our Comrade Stalin released a surprise press release today: "Comrades. This famine has been hard on us. The death toll is estimated to be roughly 150,000. However, soon we will have more food then we can eat. The government has recently been buying food directly from CIS farmers, and the shipments should be arriving in days. I am proud to call the CIS friends, and hope there is some way we can assist them. In addition, Rokkenjima has offered us wheat, oil and food in exchange for "reforms". While it pains me to do so, I must do what is best for my country. We graciously accept this gift, and in exchange we promise to re-open all CSTO embassies, and the publishing of Quinntopian and Rokkenjiman books in the USR. We shall also move one million troops away from the mountains between Chernoberg and the USR, as a sign of friendship. More will be done in the future, but this is all I promise so far. I hope that Rokkenjima sees this as enough, and aids our people. In regards to the FMA, I believe that it is every nations duty to stop the spread of the fascists. They are growing day by day, and how long until they come knocking to your country's door? They are growing, centralized in the Western part of our world, and as they spread eastward, either forcing members to join or invading to stop "The Reds", soon the CSTO will fall. Then CIS. Then Warsaw. Until the entire world is one big Fascist family, that drinks the blood of our family and dines on the souls of our fallen Comrades. While I do not promote an invasion, caution is necessary. These next few weeks will be the deciding factor in which alliances crumble and which rise." This speech was met my 40 minutes of applause, until Stalin ordered them to stop, while he appreciate applause it was getting ridiculous, and for the singing of the Anthem of the Might Soviets. |

TROUBLE IN EAST MORELAND The international community has been in outrage after the death of King David III, ruling monarch of East Moreland under suspicious circumstances. The USR government, after much debating, released this statement: "The death of a trusted and wise ruler is tough for any country to handle. The USR too mourned for the death of King David III. We applaud the leadership of Prince James, and his ability to hold together his mourning country. While there are debates about who the leadership lies with, we trust that James will make the right decision and ensure the true ruler will lead East Moreland into the future and into glory." ~Minister Vicrot Klakin The Safraen Situation With USR troops cleansing the crumbing area of former Safraen, the arrival at the capital is a warm sight for many. A NEW NATION IS BORN! The New Flag of Safraen now flies from flagpoles throughout Eastern Safraen Earlier today, the Soviet Government announced the founding of the Socialist State of Safraen. The state claims to be the successor state of former Safraen, and are grateful for USR liberation and protection. This new state has been formerly recognized by the United Soviet Russia, and it's territorial claims to all of the former state of Safraen. However, when the topic of the founding of the Republic of Safraen earlier this week came up, both governments refused to comment. The USR has kindly donated 1,200 T-90 tanks, 2000 soldiers and has started to rebuild infrastructure in Naidenschnell to assist in the rebuilding process. The Headquarters of the new Safraen government is currently locate in Stalingrad, Kremlin, USR, until Safraen is secure and rebuilt enough for the relocation of the government. TRADE TROUBLE Earlier today, sanctions were announced between the Rokkenjima and the USR. Government officials announced this was due to the founding of the successor state of Safraen, the Socialist State of Safraen. Despite the collapse of this state, and the former-state of Safraen's extremely close relations with the USR, and up to now complete lack of involvement in assisting the rebuilding process, Rokkenjima believe they must take control of the situation and do what they view as right, as they always do. The Soviet Government responded with this statement: "Following this unprovoked sanction, we have decided to take drastic measures. We will no longer be accepting aid sent from Rokkenjima, and will stop following the rules set to receive this aid. Any Rokkenjima citizens or diplomats living inside the USR has 48 hours to leave this state or face imprisonment. Embassies with Rokkenjima are now closed and no longer have any authority. All books and newspapers published in or by Rokkenjimans are to be burnt. We will, however, allow Quinntopian books to be published, allow the Quinntopian Embassy to remain open. Just because someone punches you does not mean you punch their friend. Any diplomatic talks with Rokkenjima must be made through Quinntopia. However, do not expect us to go to every meeting. As for the sanctions, it matters little. It is time that the USR trades with it's allies, not it's enemies." Just because you sleep in the woods and see no wolves does not mean there are no wolves watching you."

INCREASE IN FOREIGN DEPLOYMENT Following the increase of CSTO and other countries deployments of troops in Eastern Coft Aranye, in an attempt to stabilize the region and provide a counter balance to this surge in foreign troops, the USR has increased the deployment of Soviet Troops to allied states. In addition to a increase in military aircraft towards Safraen, large units of artillery and tanks have seen movement from Dylsgrad into the Reichtopian state of Bavaria. In a new advancement in the soviet foreign office, aircraft and naval submarines have begun to be stationed in Aeternum, primarily in Steelport and Northwood. The government claims that these troop movements are to combat CSTO interest and activity in Coft Aranye, and prove to the world that the USR will not back down in the face of trade embargoes. Long Range Bomber with fighter envoy en route to Aeternum The USR government hopes that these deployments will act as a deterrent to any hostile acts against either the USR or it's allies. It hopes that through diplomacy these disagreements may be settled. IN OTHER NEWS The Revolution of the Soviets nears it's anniversary, with what is expected to be the largest military parade in the world to be set in Stalingrad. |

SOCIALIST STATE CALLS FOR GOVERNMENT The Socialist State Calls for Self-Governance Earlier today, in a joint press release between Safraen and the USR, minister of the socialist state of Safraen released this statement regarding Safraens future governence: "It is said that a man cannot learn the violin simply by buying one. The same is true for leading a country. We cannot become a country simply by declaring our self one. I would like to personally thank the dear Chairman Stalin, for not only coming to our aid in our moment of weakness, but assisting in improving the state of Safraen afterwards. While I can only dream of having a nation as grand as this, I know that this takes time and effort. That is why we cannot use the proud Soviet System of government. I know, this may come as a shock to many. But, we will not use the flawed system of our past state either! Instead, with heavy discussion between the other ministers, i propose a hybrid system. A system combining the heritage and pros of our past, and the perfection and unity of the present. The system i describe to you is a Soviet-Socialist Republic of Safraen. Together, we can make this system work. Through the votes of the people, members of the government may be promoted to the council of the Safraen Soviet. There, they will vote a leader to become Secretary General and leader of the Soviet-Socialist State of Safraen, or SSRS. Many pros of Soviet ways will remain, like nationalization and the absence of taxes. However, it is hoped through the people we will achieve a new era of unity and hope." After a applause, Minster Chevsky stood up and shook hands with our dear comrade Joseph Stalin. While we may view their ways as impure and strange, we hope them the best of luck in their new venture! For weeks our Sunlitian Comrades in Themeta have been protesting against the oppresive regime which has replaced the previous beloved WARSAW government. Two days ago they saw success when the government was overturned and the state became Soviet Themata, and was taken under the USR's wing, providing food and humanitarian support for the nation. Mere hours later Communist Quintopia issued an unacceptable ultimatim - demanding we abandon our Themetan comrades and return them to a miserable life under the CSTO yoke. They then proceeded to blockade the Sea of Kyne, seizing control of international waters and preventing food and humanitarian aid from reaching the nation, whilst threatening to invade, thinking they had isolated Themata from WARSAW. Thankfully the intuition of Comrades Stalin and Thom predicted this CSTO treachery and maintained a sizable garrison in Themata. Combined with the Themetan armed fores, they could combine the altitude experience of Themeta and the Guerilla expertise of the USR troops they will prove more than a match for the Imperalist menace. /======================================\ |BREAKING NEWS: WARSAW AT WAR WITH CSTO| \======================================/ Under 30 minutes ago, reports were confirmed that Caeledian troops had opened fire on WARSAW garrisons in Moonland Province, Themata. Major_Thom had this to say: We all know what this means, for Thomradeopolis and WARSAW, and so it is in the gravest of Circumstances I come before you today. I henceforth announce that Thomradeopolis, along with her WARSAW allies currently exist at a state of war with all CSTO member states. The Cross-Straits Treaty Organisation has also been declared a Terrorist Organisation, and an enemy of the State, and the WARSAW alliance. By initiating this war, the CSTO have proven their inept diplomacy and irrational tedency to resort to violence. Their actions show us that they have given up on diplomacy and negotation and instead rely on force to exercise their will. No sooner than the Themetan people toppled the usurper government, CSTO proposed an unacceptable ultimatum, offering WARSAW two choices. To abandon our Themetan comrades to a life under CSTO oppression, or a devastating and bloody war. All this whilst marshalling troops to surround the country, and imposing blockades denying much needed food and humanitarian aid. So did we stand down? Did we fall to our knees before the Imperialst warmongering menace of the CSTO? No! We held our ground and remaind in support of our member. Our strong WARSAW garrison, combined with the Thematan Armed Forces, and their acute knowledge of the terrain and geography, will give us an edge in repelling this Caeledian advance, and with this we think Themeta like to stand. We also swear to the people of WARSAW, that not a yard of Themetan land will be shed that is not coated in ash and soaked in Caeledian blood. CSTO sees this war as an oppurtunity, to flex their military muscle in a manner they see as without consequence. To occupy prexising states as vassals on pretenses of 'liberation' and 'empire building'. For too long have we accepted this. For too long have we allowed the CSTO to return, but mildly whipped, to their backwards countries, licking their wounds and plotting revenge. This war will be different, for this was will be so devastating, that the CSTO will never consider challenging WARSAW supremacy again. But how will we do this. If the CSTO expects us to stand idly by whilst the rape and kill our comrades than they are misguided. We will see the hypocrisy of their claims with our home offensives. A huge combined WARSAW force has marshalled in Western Reichtopia, ready to invade Novincia, isolated by our naval blockade in the same way as Themata. We plan to launch an unprecedented offensive, in which our devastating heavy weaponary and tank warfare lay waste to our enemies in a devastating lighting campaign. We mean to do similarly in Elpedia, using the temporary garrison we have been preparing for month. We will see the reaction of Quintopia and Rokkenjima when they witness the death and destruction their actions have brought upon thier allies. We will give them a taste of their own medicine whilst removing the filth influence of the CSTO from the continent of Coft Aranye. Comrades of Thomradopolis; I promise you this. This will be the war to end all wars. To bring the CSTO to their knees and assert WARSAW as the dominant faction in the world. To permanently ensure CSTO is no longer a threat. FOR THOMRADEOPOLIS!  CAELEDIAN AERIAL CAMPAIGN TARGETS CIVILIAN TARGETS Today Themetan civilians were devastated by Caeledian Aerial attacks. Caeledian fighters conducted airstrikes on townships an urban centres and it is rumoured that civilian casualties number almost 200.  A Caeledian bomb detonates in the middle of a densely populated Sunlitian city. There are rumors ballistic missiles have also been used in bombardment but these are yet to be confirmed. This is yet another move which brings into question the integrity of the CSTO and their lack of concern for collateral damage.  A Themetan family gazes dejectedly at the ruins of their former home Amongst the buildings targeted are schools, hospitals and cilivian buildings where injured civilians were being treated and young children educated. Caedlidia is claiming to have been targeting the WARSAW garrison in these frontier towns - the same garrison which was welcomed by the people and is trying to protect them from the uncivilised brutes attempting to reduce their cities to rubble.  A child searches for survivors amongst the ruins of a destroyed hospital WARSAW TO SHATTER CSTO BLOCKADE WARSAW vessels are currently moving into position for a head on assault of the CSTO blockade. They bring with them overwhelming numbers of ships and aircraft and intend to shatter the blockade and are estimated to easily do so within 24 hours.  WARSAW ships sailing south for Themata With the blockade down we can supply food and humanitarian aid to our Thematan coleagues and help them prepare to defend from the Caelidian invasion. WARSAW GAMES TO PROCEED DESPITE WAR Today it was announced that the inaugural WARSAW games would proceed despite the ongoing hostilities in Novincia, Themata, and the Kyne. The Games are held annually and showcase the pinnacle of athletic ability from across the WARSAW states. More to come in future bulletins. EAST MORELAND GRAND PRIX UNDERWAY The People's supreme racing team kicked of the Grand Prix season today in spectacular fashion today, on a hot and dusty day in Silverhills, East Moreland. Llewyn Jones performed excellently, qualifying in fifth position with his teammate Uri Gorbachev coming in at 15th. Whilst the outbreak is believed to have been contained the government is increasingly concerned of the dangers of the plague, as whilst the plague has no dangerous symptoms the unstaisfiable impulse to dance can create other risks altogether. This is not to mention the potential impact such a plague could have on industry and the economy. The following pamphlet was distributed through mail to as many reachable citizens as possible.

SPECIAL BULLETIN: ROKKENJIMA LAUNCHES ATTACK ON MAINLAND; THOM AND STALIN VOW RETALIATION Rokkenjima today introduced a chilling new theatre of war, launching ballistic missile bombardments across South Eastern Thomradia. A confirmed 7 missiles out of a fired eleven met their targets across Thomradia and the USR. Whilst the Thomradian home fleet managed to intercept and shoot down 3 missiles, the use of orbital ballistic weapons meant that the missiles spent little time in the air over ocean where Thomradian cruisers were active. Confirmed Targets: Mynnyd Isa Railway Junction Portsmouth Airfield and Military Base Dylsgrad Airfield Rustoch Railroad Junction WARSAW Military base in Bohermia Mynnyd Isa Nuclear Plant Major_Thom in an official statement condemned the actions of Rokkenjimaa, claiming they were acts of 'Rash violence' with 'little concern for civilian casualties and collateral damage'. He vowed to make the enemy pay for their actions and announced that Rokkenjima should 'watch their backs'. Stalin is yet to publicly appear but his office has confirmed that he intends to make an appearance shortly. Questions have been as to why the navy did not alert local authorities about the oncoming missiles strikes, as computer models indicate the missiles would have had to have travelled over their position. ZARARUS AIRLINES FLIGHT 39 DISAPPEARS, GRAVE CONCERNS FOR THOMRADIANS ONBOARD Zararus authorities today confirmed the loss of a Zararus Airlines Passenger aircraft. Zararus Airlines Flight ZA-39 had departed Safraen and was flying over the northern sea when Radar picked up a decline in altitude followed shortly by a loss of Radar contact. It is a matter of great concern for many that such a huge aircraft, despite its cutting edge equipment can simply 'disappear' as with ZA-39. A search area has been declared and emergency services are combing the area, for debris and remains. THOMRADIAN HACKER LAUNCHERS CYBER-ATTACK ON ROKKENJIMA A 28 year old Thomradian university student has today made international headlines, successfully infiltrating Rokkenjima's power grid and jeopardizing their electricity supply for a large portion of the country. The attack is confirmed to have disabled the power supply for two major provinces and also infiltrating many Rokkenjiman government internet services.  The power is out across a large portion of Rokkenjima The hacker was acting independently from the government (which has denied any involvement in the hacking), and has achieved quite an outstanding feat in bypassing several layers of international security. He was tracked by government agencies to eastern Flintshire, and promptly employed by the department of Telecommunications and Information Technology. The hacker, in a publicly released statement, claimed that he was acting to avenge several colleagues, who worked at the Mynnyd Isa Nuclear plant, which was damaged by a Rokkenjima missile strike several days ago. He had this to say: "The Rokkenjimas think they can cower behind their iron shield and rain missiles down upon us? They killed my friends! If I hadn't been late for work, they would have killed me! They needed to be taught a lesson." There has been an overwhelming response of public support for the young hacker, as public resentment towards Rokkenjima continues in the wake of their 'strategic' strikes against the mainland last week. The Thomradian government has assured its people that their cyber-defenses are more than apt to prevent a similar attack in retaliation. |

WARSAW NAVY INFLICTS SIGNIFICANT LOSSES ON CSTO FLEET News has reached Thomradia of the first major meeting between WARSAW and CSTO navies in the Kyne Sea. WARSAW vessels sailed south, past Dauntel and engaged the awaiting CSTO blockade. Despite the more modern CSTO vessels WARSAW numbers prevailed as significant losses were inflicted upon their enemies. Two enemy vessels have been confirmed to have been sunk, with numerous others damaged or immobile.  Thomradians celebrate the victory in Revolutionary Square In other news, Major Thom has announced a major restructure of the Thomradian Navy, with several vessels being phased out in favour of newer classes and models. He also indicated that there were more restructures to come in the airforce and army. He announced the retirement of the Ptoleriat Class Carrier, with 8 new Independence Class carriers replacing the current vessels, and the phasing out of the Revolutionary Class Battleship, with an estimated 14 Revolution II Class cruisers to take their place. Anti-CSTO protests continue Protests against the CSTO have continued, with mass protests in cities across the nation. While initially peaceful, the protests soon turned violent, with Ardian restaurants and foreign shops being stormed, looted and burnt. Eventually police halted the looting, but no arrests have been made.  Throughout the nation racism and hatred towards Arida has risen in the previous months, with popular jokes emerging such as: "How many Rokkenjima's does it take to screw in a light bulb? "Three. Two to steal the light bulb from a weaker country, and one to order a slave to put the bulb in." In response to the ongoing racism, Comrade Chairman Stalin had this to say: "I would like to remind you all that we are all created equally. The USR is proof that we are all equal. Just because someone is from a far away place, and worships a god, and has a different culture, is no reason to hate them. Judge them by their character, not their skin." ANTI-CSTO PROTESTS SPREAD TO THOMRADIA Thomradians together gathered in major cities to demonstrate their maintained hatred of the Cross-Straits Treaty Organisation and the associated nations. The protests are primarily aimed at Rokkenjima, which is at present is experiencing a backlash of negative public sentiment following their missile strikes across WARSAW last week. Protests have remained peaceful for the most part, and police are monitoring the situation to ensure it remains in hand. Public support for the war remains high, and approval soared last week following the Rokkenjiman missile strikes. Protesters have accused Rokkenjima and the CSTO of using 'immoral tactics' and 'targeting civilians'. Protesters have mocked the CSTO as 'Countries Spreading Tyranny and Oppression' as sentiment grows against them.  Protestsors gathering in Dyfedia Citizens, despite reassurance by their government, are still fearful of further strikes and drills have been occurring to ensure the nation is ready to respond to further strikes. Missile defence fleets have been moved west from near Magilani and are in position to intercept future strikes. SPORTING EVENTS READY TO GET UNDERWAY Excitement is building for the three major sporting events in which Thomradia is heavily involved. The inaugural WARSAW Games and WARSAW Supreme League get underway shortly and this year Thomradia is a host nation for the 2014 Mundus Cup. Thomradians are looking forward to both events and there is pressure on Thomradian representatives to perform at this high level. THE USR VICTORIOUS IN WINTER OLYMPICS Once again, our athletes have shown us how strong Warsaw is when compared to overseas countries. This winter Olympics is no different as our athletes have shown us. The Might of the USR and other Warsaw states is felt, as Warsaw brings back the gold. It is only day two and already the USR has walked away with 16 Gold Medals and two silver. In second place comes Thomradia with two gold medals and three silver, and third comes Ireden with two silver and five bronze. Leasing Program Begins! Earlier today, the United Soviet Russia and the Trade Republic of Transval have come to an agreement to lease the island of Brook Field, and some of the nearby mainland. The island of Brook Field is the largest island in Trnasvaal, and is being rented for 10.2 billion Soviet Rubles a year. This agreement is seen as a great success for both nations, and will hopefully bring closer relations between the states in the future. The Island and surrounding mainland is expected to be transformed into a regional USR military base, for troop exercises, refueling for aircraft and ships, and an area to provide security for the surrounding countryside. The USR government have announced that they will in coming months begin the construction of a bridge to connect the mainland to the island, combined with the establishment of a military base and power facility. Chairman Stalin is at peace Moments ago, our dear chairman, Stalin, founder of the Union of Soviet Socialists of the United Soviet Russia, passed away in his sleep. Doctors say his ill health and old age contributed to his death, though many were in tears. When asked why the government had kept this secret from the people, they had this to say: "The Chairman did not want his people to be saddened by his health. The Chairman did not want his people to feel bad while he was in pain. He wanted them to remain happy while he alone bore the sickness. He was selfless that way."  Citizens cry as Stalin's coffin passes by When asked about who would succeed Stalin, the government claimed that this was not the time to talk of such things. The new Chairman would be inaugurated soon, but now they all must mourn with the nation. New Chairman Announced  Moments ago, the new Chairman of the Union of Soviet Socialists of the United Soviet Russia, was announced. The Chairman is Boris Brezhnev. The well known head of the USR secret service, the CSS, Brezhnev has always been seen as a friend to Stalin and friend of the people. His call to leadership, while unexpected, is none the less happy news, for a strong leader has been brought to power. He had this to say to the nation: "People of the United Soviet Russia. I am your new chairman. And I prepare to act. I am not like a foreigner, who sits around all day and plays in the garden with his minsters. I am a man of action. And action, is what i will do for our nation. For far too long we have been the laughing stock of the world. Yet we, the Slavic people, are the true leaders of man. We work the hardest and create the best things. No better example then when we invaded Novincia with ease. We, you see, are the chosen race. It is our duty to ensure the safety of our people and race, not to mention our culture and land. Stalin saw this in a way, but his brilliance did not see the full picture. Many of you recall the Earagon imprisonment. The rounding up of terrorists to ensure the state remains secure and safe for all people. However, I believe we have been too soft. Right now, 80% of the Earagon population is still alive and lives in relative ease, in work camps in northern Sibria, suckling off the government teat. Meanwhile, good, honest, hard working Slavics work in the fields, and in the factories, to pay for their living conditions, and to pay to ship materials for them to work in factories. I say we should end this, and I will take it to the supreme soviet to vote for this. We should Iron out all the crumples before we can say our shirt it clean. We must keep our state pure, or lest it fall into Anarchy like many countries in Ardia. We must remain strong. We must create a strong economy. No longer must we trade with foreign states. Media Restrictions Lowered! Earlier Today, our recently inaugurated Chairman announced reforms to the Soviet Media department. For the first time in Soviet History, non-USR media has permission to be published in the USR. While the amount of countries which can sell papers here is restricted to Warsaw States and certain allies, we non the less welcome the reforms and wish our new competition the best of luck. In addition, computers, manufactured in Thomradia, have been announced to be sold to Soviet citizens in the coming months. Coup in Meche? After a apparent fair election, recent documents have come to light by friendly Soviet administrators working in Meche claiming that the recent elections were a forgery, and a unjust party had come to power! In an attempt to fix the problem, the old government asked for there to be a recount, but their cries for freedom went unheard by the fascist government. However, hope prevailed in Meche, and the government has fallen, albeit with the rest of the country. Now, with rouge military units paroling the lands, the United Soviet Russia has taken it upon itself to bring Meche lands under safe Soviet control. Earlier yesterday, Soviet Troops from both Safraen and the USR entered Meche, expecting a fight, but received open arms from both the people and the former government. Now, with sinificant inroads into Ich'tik and Ust'erik, not a single bullet has been fired! Soviet Commanders assure us of no Soviet Casualties, and we wish them the best of luck! Hurricane developed in Krimeon Sea Earlier today a hurricane developed in the Krimeon Sea. This super-storm is on an north-west trajectory, and apparently will make landfall sometime in the next few days. While this poses a threat to shipping, many are worried about the threat to people living in both the coastline and inland in much of East Coft Aranye, as they have in the past proven their ability to move inland, causing millions of dollars in damages. |

Apartment Block Bombed! Earlier today, at 6:32 EST a large explosion went off in a apartment complex in east Stalingrad. The explosion was heard throughout the suburb, and residents from nearby buildings emerged from their nearby homes to find the apartment block had collapsed on itself. Current figures are unknown, but so far 15 bodies have been found, many children, and a further 32 are missing. Current culprits are unknown, but the NKVD has released information pointing towards Mechen extremists attempting to prevent the reconstruction of the true Mechen government.  The government released this press announcement: "Our hearts go out to every man, woman and child affected by this attack. We remain focused to our cause, and will bear any blow to ensure the freedom of the Mechen people. We will always attempt to bring stability to the region, and these Mechen animals will surely be brought to justice." So far those responsible have not been found, though the government has not ruled out the bombing involving a suicide vest. Verover Hate Crimes Continue Continuing on in the past days, public executions of all direct Verovian citizens has continued, with lists expanding to 2nd generation Verovians. In all major town squares around the country, stations have been erected to provide space for these stations. Word that Verovians had been executions Prisoners of War that were captured in the few CIS victories spread across the USR, and the government has confirmed that they have indeed been killing Prisoners of war. In addition, apparently to coincide with their barbaric pagan religion, they must wear a body part from their victims around their throats, and the government is encouraging citizens to check all Verovian people for toes tied in necklaces around their necks, and for stolen food allocations stamps. However, above all, please contact the local authorities, as Verover people have been known to bite, lie and attack anyone who their perceive as a threat. Reznov trial cancelled After weeks of investigation, the trial of St Reznov, last name withheld, a noted Soviet general, taking part in both the Novincian offensive and the liberation of Safraen. Accused of war crimes by the international community, the United Soviet Russia, as a token of good will, decided to investigate the matter, with investigators from around the world, mostly from Rokkenjima and Dartfordia. However, after these investigators proved incompetent, new investigators were hired, from withing the USR. Foreign Investment from the West Earlier this week, two respectable nations, Toshikawa and Transvaal, announced their desire to invest in the United Soviet Russia's economy, namely the Arms industry. In addition, they also donated large sums of money to assist in the reconstruction of infrastructure and to assist in the war effort. Despite past bans on foreign investment in the United Soviet Russia, the Politburo has welcomed the investment, claiming that when our closest allies want to help, then why should we prevent them from helping? The arms industry of the United Soviet Russia is the largest in the world, with 20% of the entire industry located in it's borders, including 25% of guns, 53% of bullets, 56% of tanks and other large vehicles, and 33% of trucks and other light transport. The investment, which is being used to build two factories in Northern Warsaw, in Marxvanovich. The Toshikawan factory is expected to produce Armored Personal Carriers, while the Transvaal factory is expected to produce tanks, in particular the K-2 Panther, a Transvaal main battle tank. The majority of goods produced from these factories will be shipped back to their government's homeland, though many will remain in the USR, and either sold overseas or used in the Soviet Army. VICTORY HAS BEEN ACHIEVED Earlier today, at the Furik'tik peace summit, a deal was announced between the Federation of Meche and the United Soviet Russia. In exchange for the peaceful withdraw of Soviet troops from Mechean soil, the Federation of Meche signed a treaty forbidding their membership of the CSTO, long time enemy of the USR and threat to global security. The Government has hailed the short, but bloody, conflict as a success not only to the Soviets, but global security as a whole, with Rokkenjiman imperialists shamefully leaving the conflict, their armies in tatters, their hands bloody, with the rightful Mechean government taking power shortly after the conflict was won by the United Soviet Russia  With the conflict over, troops are returning to their homes, and many are relieved to see their families. As a reward for a quick and successful military campaign, all families of soldiers are to receive double bread rations for the next month, issued at any Local Distribution of Food and Edible Material Centers. However, despite the success of the war, our Chairman Brezhnev said that hardship would not be over. He announced that soon, to combat large scale sanctions against the USR, radical economic change would soon sweep over the country, through economic stimulation by the government. New Economic Development Plan Earlier today, our dear Chairman Brezhnev announced a new economic plan for the United Soviet Russia, called Perestroika, or reconstruction. The chairman announced it during his weekly broadcast to the people of the nation. "The USR has long been a cornerstone of industry and wealth. We are the 2nd Largest economy on Coft Aranye, and the 6th largest in the world. What we do will impact everyone on earth, from the lumberjack in Tenerland to the lawyer in Dartfordia. Thus, to increase the wealth of the world, and our nation, I am announcing an economic reform to help our nation grow to further heights! It is no secret that our nation has been going through... economic problems. Slowing GDP rise. Sanctions. Many other things. However, I feel as if the time for suffering is over. This new policy not reforms the nation's economy, but also reforms the political and social attitude and laws of the nation. Starting this week, and being completed over the next few months, limited Privatization of the nation's resources and shops will occur, to stimulate growth. These businesses will be heavily monitored, taxed, and planned, though they will be privately owned. In addition, foreign news papers will be sold throughout the nation, to give transparity to the world and to the USR. Also, our own media will be given more freedom in the way they act and report, allowing them a more free media transmission, further increasing the way our people see and know of the world. I hope that through these reforms, our nation may finally turn a new chapter in the world stage, and emerge as a modern power for all the world to see." |

 Critical Economic Failure due to shortsighted Government Policies The United Soviet Russia has recently entered a recession, unknown to most. Why is that, many of you ask? We work all day and yet our economy shrinks? Why is that? It is due to the shortsightedness of the Soviet Government and the critical economic and foreign problems they have created. Yet, many of the nation does not know this. The United Soviet Russia has one of the largest economies on the planet. We produce everything, from oil, to cars, to bullets. Yet, despite these gains, the government and the people are seeing less and less money. Why? Due to government policies. Let us start by looking at the economic policies of the Soviets. The Transvaalian GDP is slightly less then ours. We are the 3rd largest economy on Mundus by international trade output and value, with then being the 4th. Yet their people have significantly higher GDPs then the Soviets, their government have much more money at their disposal, and their country, on a whole, is richer then ours. We merely get the scraps of their wealth, when they want a new gun, or anti air weapon. Face it Soviets. We are the blacksmith, and they are the rich noblemen. Why do they have this wealth? The Free market system. Rokkenjima, Ireden, Transvaal, East Moreland. All powerful economies like us. Yet, we are the poor ones. Why? lack of commitment. Why would a miner go into a mine and work his ass off, when one that does little work gets payed exactly the same? Why would a doctor try to save his patients, when a horrible doctor who treats the common cold gets payed the same? This is the center of our economic problems. But it is not the only major problem. The second problem is our foreign policy. While our economy may be faltering, it is still producing much of Mundus' goods. However, what we do produce goes to waste. Why? Because of the hostile attitude that nations share towards our nation. Now it is not because they are evil, or stupid, as the government would have you believe. Nay, it is because our government is hostile. It is aggressive. It wants only what it itself wants, and cares little for the well being of other nations. Because of this, we are sanctioned by half the world. The Fruits of the USR are being taken by nobody, and we cannot use our limited wealth to gain more wealth. People of the United Soviet Russia, i say, stop the madness! I call for all worried citizens, troubled workers, and angered servicemen. Come to the Grand Krepost Square, in Stalingrad, in the next three days! We shall show the government we want change! We want reform! The freedom of the press and the freedom of expression was only the start! Together we can reform the USR into a superpower! |
