The Alunda Chronicle - Ruling Party wins Election, but Parliamentary Division Increases

The third elections for the Assembly of Ndambia (Lower House) since Queen Kangela I was crowded, had resulted in a divided parliament. The Ndambian National Party, led by Prime Minister Kilinji Zanga, was the most voted political party, but it failed to secure its majority. The NNP has only achieved the victory in 47 of the 150 electoral districts. Babajide Fedosine's Constitutional Party was the second most voted party, but as consequence of its support in the rural districts, the Conservative Party obtained more seats in the parliament. The Liberal Party and the Federal Party, along with the NNP, can be considered the losers of the elections, as they have declined to 15 and 10 seats respectively, losing more than half since the previous elections. On the other hand, more radical parties such as the Traditionalist Alliance and the left-wing Social Party increased their number in the parliament.

The results are likely to put in a difficult position to Zanga's Government, after 17 years of rule, as the divided parliament would require a more wide government coalition, in comparison to the last four years, where the Ndambian National Party was in power on minority but stable government, often supported by either the Liberal Party and the Federal Party. Today, this won't be enough, and the Conservative Party (32 members) and the Constitutional Party (23 members) will have an important role in the future of the Kingdom.

Although many consider that an alliance with the Conservative Party is unlikely, as consequence for the protectionist economic policy proposed by the Conservatives and the political ambitions of its leader, a member of the nobility from the Northern region of the country. However, a pact with the Constitutional Party could have its complications as well, as the centrist party -although it supports the economic policies of Zanga's Government- demands a deep constitutional reform and important administrative changes. At the same time, Babajide Fedosine -the Constitutional Party's candidate- has expressed that he hasn't a real interest in been part of a coalition government, but he's willing to support a government if some of the main proposals of the party are accepted.

Coalition talks will start next week, and a new Speaker of the Assembly of Ndambia will be elected. Then, the new Speaker will inform Queen Kangela of the negotiations, and then the monarch will appoint a new Prime Minister, and a new cabinet will be formed. Our experts and political analysts believe that Kilinji Zanga, who anounced that this will be his last term, will be appoint as new Prime Minister again, even if there's no agreement between the main parties. A coalition between the National and Liberal parties are likely, which could have the support of both the Constitutional and Federal parties. But it will be difficult to predict the stability of the new government, specially if it fails to pass the changes that minority parties demand. Only time will answer this question.

Alunda Chronicle - Queen Kangela I pregnant, palace says

The Royal House of the Kingdom of Ndambia and Kajikya has announced that the Queen is expecting a baby. Members of the Royal Family are said to be delighted. The Speaker of the Royal House declared that the future of the monarchy has now been secured for another generation.

Prime Minister Ziliji Zanga declared that he was "delighted by the news" and that "a royal baby is something the whole nation will celebrate". Similar comments and declarations were expressed by the rest of parliamentary forces. Only Kayode Bulupe, First Secretary of the left-wing Social Party, expressed a different opinion. He declared that he "personally wished the best outcome to the Queen", but that it was "a personal issue, so he wasn't going to express a political union about it". "Our country has more important affairs to deal with", Bulupe said. A declaration that many consider, at best, unfortunate.

The Metropolitan of Alunda, who officiated in both Queen's weddings, declared: "The whole nation will join in celebrating this wonderful news. We wish the new child the best and a happy existence". Minister of Foreign Affairs Mbede Lendez has confirmed that the first congratulations from abroad has already been receiving. "This proves the increasing influence and consideration that the both Her Majesty and our country are experiencing in recent years".

Although the Basic Law of the Kingdom doesn't establish automatically the line of succession, it is the Ndambian custom that first-born child will be the heir of the throne. The Speaker of the Royal House has denied, however, that the Queen will modify her agenda in the coming weeks.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company - Queen Kangela gives birth to a girl

A statement from the Royal House has confirmed the birth of a baby girl. The baby was delivered at 09:19 at Royal Hospital of Braz, Southern Ndambia.

When the news was announced, a large cheer went up from well-wishers and journalists outside the hospital while a large crowd greeted the announcement outside Aafide Palace, in Alunda. A Royal House spokesman said the name of the baby would be announced in due course. Royal doctor Mr. Saafede described the new arrival as "wonderful, beautiful baby", in a press conference.

Most of politicians of both the Government and the Opposition has officially congratulated the Queen and the Royal family. "It is an important moment in the life of our nation but I suppose, above all, it's a wonderful moment for His Majesty and the Royal Family", the Prime Minister declared. "We hope, though, she will return to work soon", he joked.

National and foreign media had been camped outside the Royal Hospital for days in anticipation of the birth.

Alunda Chronicle - Conspirators Case to be started in the High Court of Alunda

Next week, the case against the military and civil conspirators that organized the coup d'etat against Queen Kangela and the legitimate government will be started in the High Court of Alunda. A total of 37 people will be judged, with charges from high treason to collaboration with unlawful forces. The Prosecutor's Office of the High Court has requested that the High Court uphold death penalty sentences to seven of the accused, included General Ndemange, the leader of the conspiration, and Bosede Awane, first husband of Queen Kangela. The rest of the accused would face jail sentences from 3 to 25 years, if they are declared guilty by the High Court.

The Ndemange coup, as it is known, triggered a four month civil war which caused more that 20,000 casualties, most of them civilians, and the intervention of several foreing countries. A group of military generals, including General Ndemange and General Mdawa, along with a group of political leaders, had organized the coup which was aimed to force Queen Kangela I to abdicate, declaring a Regency until a new Monarch was appointed. The aim of the conspirators had been revoked several reforms approved during the former National-Liberal Government and the adoption of a isolationist foreign policy against foreign influence.

Alunda Chronicle - Anti-Rokkenjima Protests Cause Controversy

Tense moments were witnessed yesterday in Nzonza Square, in front of the Rokkenjima embassy in Alunda, the capital city of the Kingdom of Ndambia. A demonstration had been organized by Socialist Unity, an organization associated with the far-left Ndambian Republican Federal Party. The protesters criticized Rokkenjima and Ardian involvement in the country of Meche, formalized with the recent declaration of war against U.S.R. A few thousands marched with radical slogans, and although there were some tense moments at the end of the demonstration, the march was mostly peaceful and not serious incident happened. The embassy had been widely protected by the Ndambian police force, and seventeen protestors were detained when most of the protesters had already left the place. The speakerperson of the Socialist Unity organization attacked "Rokkenjima Imperialism" in his speech, and demanded the government to recognize officially the recently proclaimed so-called Soviet Meche Government.

The leader of the far-left NRFP, which has currently 4 members of the parliament, was more prudent in his declarations, but he demanded the Ndambian Government to remain neutral in the conflict, and that foreign involvement should be limited to diplomatic efforts, avoiding direct military involvement of any sort. The right-wing Ndambian Union denounced the demonstration as a provocation, demanding the Government the immediate illegalization of the NRFP. The recently formed radical party is an split from the now defunct Social Party of the Kingdom of Ndambia, and it has been recently accussed of receiving funds from USR, an accusation which the First-Secretary of the NRFP rejected as "baseless defamation". Representatives from the Government avoided to make any declaration about the issue. Next week, the Ndambian Parliament is believed to vote a proposal imposing economic and financial sanctions against the U.S.R., including the seizure of assets from representatives and state-owned companies of that country.

All the detained protesters are believed to be released on bail during the next days.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company - First Federal Elections

The eleven federal states of the Kingdom of Ndambia will have their first elections since the approval of the 2014 Constitution. Unlike the Ndambian Assembly, the federal parliament will have a majority system, and they will elect directly a Governor, without required central government approval for first time in Ndambian history. The ruling Constitutional Liberal Party expected to confirm its position with good results in most of the federal states, but recent polls have dispute this outcome. The Ndambian National Party, which ruled between 1991 and 2014, along the recently created center-left United Social Democratic Party has been improved in recent polls. The United Social Democratic Party, led by Milosa Gause, was founded only two months ago, consequence of the merger between the Democratic Party -a political party created from the left-wing current of the today defunct Liberal Party- and the left-wing Social Democratic Party.

Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine, however, declared he is confident of the success of the elections, indepedently of the result, and he has assured that changes in the government aren't likely in the coming months.

Alunda Chronicle - Federal Elections: Bitter Victory for the Government's Parties

The Federal Elections, the first federal election since the approval of the Constitution, and the first regional elections in the history of the Kingdom, resulted in divided and plural federal parliaments, which will result in post-electoral coalitions and agreements between political parties. Only in three of the eleven states a political party obtained a absolute majority. In the state of Igune, where the center-right Ndambian National Party obtained a comfortable majority, and in the states of Alunda and Agusu, where the ruling Constitutional Liberal Party secured a clear majority. Sources from the Constitutional Liberal Party headquarters have showed their confidence that they will be able to have elected at least half of the Governors. But these election could be also understood as a serious warning to the ruling government, as the Constitutional Liberal Party obtained three points less than in the previous national elections, while their allies of the Moderate Party collapsed from a 11% to a 4%, obtaining only five federal representatives. A worse result obtained the regionalist United Kijiko Party, which obtained a poor result in the State of Kajikya. The UKP leader has already announced his resignation as Chairman of the party.

The Federal Elections also seem to mark a new era in Ndambian politics, as the Ndambian National Party, the most powerful party in the last two decades, could be only the third most voted political force, with 25,8% of the vote, being surpassed by the left-wing United Social Democratic Party, which obtained 26,9% of the vote. The Ndambian National Party's leader, Afolabi Jagune, former Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, addressed the elections as a vote against the Government's policies, but paradoxically, his leadership resulted more damaged. His position is complicated, and the next months are likely to be complicated for the experienced and ambitious conservative leader. On the opposite situation is Milosa Gause, the USDP's leader, a position strengthened as the recently founded left-wing party will be key in both several states parliaments and the Federal Assembly. Although the USDP was far from the ruling Constitutional Liberal Party, which obtained 35,4% of the vote, Mrs. Gause hopes to become an alternative of government in the long-term.

Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine declared that, despite the results of the federal elections, there will not be changed in the composition of the Government, which will continue developing and implementing the already announced measures promised by his Government, focused on national and social development, increase of foreign trade and economic growth.

Alunda Chronicle - Church-State Relations at Stake

The controversy of the some of the Government's plan regarding education and religious policy has continued today, when Kayode Mandhai, prominent theologian and member of the Ndambian Panentheist Church's Holy Synod, has declared the draft of the law of the so-called “Freedom of Religion Act”, to be discussed by the parliament during the next weeks as a “unacceptabl attempt to establish radical state secularism in Ndambia”. The controversy already started three weeks ago, after a Speaker of the Church criticised the Education Reform Law recently passed by the Ndambian Assembly, a law which established secular education in public schools, with religious instruction in all public schools forbidden, and insuring secularization of the teaching staff of the Ministry of Education. Mandhai also criticized other legislation recently passed by the Government, as the introduction of civil divorce and marriage, the legalization of work on holy days, and the religious character effaced from the judicial oath. Mandhai appealed to the Queen -as Head of the Ndambian Panentheist Church- to end this secular legislation. He also denounced the gradual secularization started with the removal of Panentheist priests from the administrative committees of hospitals and boards of charity owned or funded by the state.

The “Freedom of Religion Act”, drafted under the guidance of Minister of Culture and Religious Affairs Adetokungo Badmine, himself a former clergyman, establishes that “the law is based on three principles: the neutrality of the state, the freedom of religious exercise, and the friendly but independent relation between the state and the church”. Article 3, one of the most controversial ones, states that “no religion shall have a state character. The public authorities shall take into account the religious beliefs of the Ndambian society and shall consequently maintain appropriate cooperation with the Panentheist Church and other established churches”. The law also aims to establish a limit to the funding of religious groups by the states. It would declare that all the Ndambian Panentheist Church's religious buildings should be considered property of the state and local governments, although it also established that their private use will be ceddeed to the Church for a 60-years period, with no expense or cost for their use or maintenance.

Badmine, well-known as a progressive theologian and member of the centrist Moderate Party, has declared that the law should not be understood as a law against or critical with any Church, including the Ndambian Panentheist Church. “I believe the law will increase the church autonomy, not only because the Church will be able now to raise more funds that the modest amounts the state provides so far", the Minister said, "but because this friendly separation between church and state is likely to mark the beginning of a fertile religious activity and spiritual awakening”.

Alunda Chronicle - Division in the Ndambian Panentheist Church increases

The VI Conference of the Faith, the religious conference for laymen and clergymen founded with the support of the late King Temitope II, was closed with a declaration which had the support of a clear majority of the Conference, although it caused controversy between some of the most conservative attendees, many of them leaving the conference between the end of the ceremony. The Conference hasn't an official status as a Panentheist Church's meeting, although traditionally members of the Holy Synod, the Government, and the Sovereign Monarch himself usually attended to the conference. This year, only low profile members of the Church and several Deputy Ministers could be seen at the beginning of the Conference. Queen Kangela I didn't attend, claiming a busy agenda.

The discussions were long and heat, but mostly civilized and calm. The Conference called for a constructive dialogue between the Church and the State, and although many members were critical of some of the recent laws passed by the parliament on moral and religious issues, the position of a "critical support of the religious legislation" had enough supporters in the conference. Some authorities of the Ndambian Panentheist Church, however, have claimed that the Government turned the conference into a propaganda meeting of the secularization legislation, despite the presence of more than 227 clergymen from all the Kingdom.

The final declaration included an appeal to the leadership of the Ndambian Panentheist Church to "recognize peaceful existence in a non confessional state, that the Church should not be involved in politics and that there should be a fair separation of powers market by cooperation for the benefit of the society". The Conference also declared that "this does not imply a type of ideological secularism or radical separation between civil and religious groups" but that "the modernization of the Church, far from a confrontation is truly for a constructive dialogue in the spirit of the values of freedom, equality and brotherhood, which the people of Ndambia is rightly very attached".

Despite recent polls have showed that a majority of Ndambian citizens, including many members of the Ndambian Panentheist Church, support a law which would establish a moderate separation between church and state, Kayode Mandhai has again called for the withdraw of the law, and has proposed to the Holy Synod to call civil disobedience against the law, urging to fight all believers in the name of the Church's rights. Mandhai and other conservative members of the Church have also proposed the excommunication from the Church to Minister Adetokungo Badmine and the deputies who vote for the law, along the organization of an "Special Ecumenical Council" in order to solve the crisis the Church is facing.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company - A Historical Result for Ndambian Racing

A. Senna, from Fabrice Fireball, took a dominant win in the Thomradian Warsaw GP against QAS Racing Wood and Singleton, who completed the podium. The Dartfodian was in control from the start, converting his pole position into a lead at the first corner and controlling the race. Senna's team-mate Burton was fourth. Today certainly a historical day for Formula Mundus, as Senna became the first driver to win two GP races. But it was also a historical day for Ndambian racing, as Idowu Mamteh, who finished 7º, became the first Ndambian pilot to score in a Formula Mundus GP.

Mamteh, from the Ndambian NNB-Alagbeka Racing Team, had a disappointing start of the season, but he was improving his performance in the last GPs. "This result was important", Mamteh declared, "but we can improve...I am confident that will have the chance of having better results in the coming races". The team manager also declared that the team was looking for a positive result after many races, and that this result wasn't product of luck, but an encouraging achievement consequence of hard work. Mamteh was able to maintain the third and fourth positions during many laps, finishing in a comfortable seventh position. "We tried to have the best possible result, but without endangering a good result", the Ndambian driver said.

Quinntopian N. Kuprin finished sixth, and he is leading now the Drivers Championship classification, with a light advantage over Rico Filoni. The other Ndambian driver, Ige Jammara finished in 16º position, therefore repeating his best result in a race, but again behind her team-mate.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company - Minister of Foreign Affairs Discusses Ndambian Foreign Policy

Ayotunde Ologa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met yesterday with foreign correspondents and Ndambian diplomats and members of think tanks, in a special social event in the city of Braz. Minister Ologa gave a short but thoughtful speech about the situation of the world and the past and future role of the Kingdom in them. He also answered some questions to the foreign correspondents and a small groups of students from the College of Braz who were invited by the organizers of the event.

"It is not encouragering the succession of conflicts and wars", the Minister declared, "but I don't think the situation is worsening. If things are done well, there is a chance for peace and stability". Asked if the coexistence of several military alliance was creating more conflicts than avoiding them, the Minister didn't reject openly such view, but he said that he doesn't think that is the only cause. "We always believed that "there was a need for an international forum where problems could discussed calmly and productively, with a constructive but realist diplomacy".

The Minister blamed the recent instability to USR's aggresive foreign policy and Warsaw's imperialism, although he also critized the violation of international borders by other alliances and governments. "We believe in the principles of national sovereignty and territorial integrity", he declared. "That doesn't mean we're for isolation...there are some circumstances when the international community must intervene, in order to avoid humanitarian crisis and deeper and more serious conflicts, but territorial integrity is a basic principle in diplomacy. We believe that the right of self-determination is only legitimate when is according the national sovereignty and the constitutional order of a country, through a legal and negotiated process. Unilateral violation or alteration of the territorial borders of a country can be very dangerous for stability of nations, and it may lead to more serious and dangerous conflicts in the short and long term". The Minister declared that the Kingdom of Ndambia won't recognize any of the governments which recently announced unilateral or unlawful independence, but he also declared that the Ndambian Government is not considering any kind of diplomatic pressure or sanctions in those cases.

Minister Ologa also assured that the Ndambian Government is not considering a shift in foreign policy, including CIS membership. Last week, a controversy started on this issue following the publication of an op-ed by former Prime Minister Kilinji Zanga in "Braz Herald", questioning Ndambian membership in the alliance. "The axis of the CIS moved", the article argued, "so it is time to consider if our membership in the alliance still helps to protect our interests...If that's not the case, it is time for reform or even consider our leaving". Minister Ologa, who was himself Deputy Prime Minister during the last Zanga's Goverment, denied that the Government is even discussing that issue right now, and that it will continue to fulfill its international compromises and obligations.

Alunda Chronicle - Ndambian Government Considers Sanctions against Zachachevania

In a statement regarding the Dyfedia crisis, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayotunde Ologa declared the involvement parties should avoid any potentially dangerous confrontation, asking restraint for both sides. The Minister criticized the last Zachachevanian declaration, which threatened with war if their so-called peacekeeping contingent was blocked or attacked by CSTO forces. "Our position regarding the Dyfedian position hasn't changed", the Minister declared, "but considering that the existence of the legitimate government of Thomradia is debatable, the 'right of assistance' claimed by the Zachachevanian Government is doubtful, and the alocation of foreign troops could only be considered a violation of the country's sovereignty".

The Minister declared that the "escalation of rhetoric by Zachachevanian Chairman is worrisome" and "is endangering the stability of the region". The Ndambian Government will ask "constraint and calm" to the Zachachevanian Government, and in case their aggressive policy continues, diplomacy pressure and even economic sanctions against the neighbor country -along those already imposed toward USR several months ago- would be considered. "It is time for reason and diplomacy, in order to find a reasonable and peaceful solution to the current conflict", he added.

The Ndambian Assembly -Ndambia's Lower House- will discuss tomorrow this issue, between other regarding foreign policy- and decide the definitive answer to this issue.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company - Ige Jammara Achieves Historical Third Place on Ndambian GP

Rokkenjima's D. Miles (Pyretta Blaze Racing) won the first Braz GP, which was announced by the Ndambian authorities as a "great success". Although his results during the season haven't been the expected ones, he could surprise the favourite drivers achieving a relatively easy victory, the first one for his team this year.

Cook (Rytol Team) was second, a position which allows him to the sixth place in the Drivers Championship, but the 90,000 Ndambian fans trembled with the third position achieved by Ige Jammara.

Jammara became the first Ndambian driver to achieve a podium position in a Formula Mundus race, a result which was celebrated as a real victory. "I honestly feel I had the pace today", Jammara saind on the podium. "I was feeling pretty comfortable most of the time, even if it was certainly a hard race...We hope this will be only the beginning". As consequence of her third position today, Jammara will be 18º in the Drivers Championship, along CT Racing's Jin and People's Supreme Gorvachev, and overtaking for first time her team-mate Idowu Mamteh.

Mamteh could only be 14º ahead of favourites like Kuprin and Filoni, who had again a disappointed result.

Alunda Chronicle | Panentheism Gives a Step More Toward Schism

The Ndambian Panentheist Church continues with its deep internal crisis last Friday. The Holy Synod of the Church met in Alunda, following the calling by Kayode Madhai and other two members of the Holy Synod, regarding the proposal of the organization of a Ecumenical Council, which would be the first one in more than a century. The result was surprising, with a reported 6 votes for the organization of an Ecumenical Council, but it failed to obtain the super-majority result required by the internal rules of the Church. However, the unconfirmed information that the Chairman of the Holy Synod -Olumide Tunde- had voted for the organization of an Ecumenical Council. The Speaker of the Church refused to make any statement regarding those rumours.

However, the absence of the required majority has not stopped the conservative group inside the Church which demands a more militant action against the so-called "secularization program" started by the Government. The theologian Kayode Madhai, also a member of the Holy Synod, denounced pressures from both the Government and the Royal House in order to influence the result of the Holy Synod meeting, something he denounced as "unacceptable". Last Friday, three days after the meeting, Madhai and another 300 theologians, priests, and members of the Ndambian Panentheist Church wrote a manifesto against "spiritual surrender". They also called for an early celebration of the "Bishops' Assembly", along revoking progressive bishops which "behavior contradicts the spiritual rules of the Church".

Alunda Chronicle | Terrorist Plot Against Queen Kangela Foiled

Ndambian police and military services have foiled a terrorist plan to assassinate Sovereign Queen Kangela. Leading ultra-conservative militants are thought to be behind the plot.

Seven citizens were detained in the city of Aala, accused of being in charge of the conspiration. The attack was supposed to be carried out in Braz right after the inauguration of the second Braz International Economic Forum, next February. Three of the accused were members of the local branch of the conservative Ndambian Union, which denied any implication.

A speaker of the police revealed that another two suspects were detained two weeks ago, in the district of Nwede, in possession of explosives. "The investigation had already started by then", he declared, "but it confirmed the nature of the case". Sources from the police didn't reject that the detainees could have help from abroad, but such possibility doesn't seem likely. It was also revealed, although unconfirmed, that four of the detainees were soldiers or volunteers during the recent military conflict in Ndambia. They had served a short prison sentence or were included in the last general amnesty, though.

"I confirm the information, but make no comment on it", declared Mbede Lendez, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice. Although terrorist activity is not unknown in the Kingdom of Ndambia, it would have been the first terrorist attempt against a crowned member of the Royal family. "There is no reason to believe this case would imply increase of terrorist activity in the country", Minister of Internal Affairs Ayotunde Olagawe declared, "rather the contrary".

The first reaction from the Ndambian Union came from Olamilekan Luvik, the Speaker of the party, who denied any implication in the case and even casted doubt about the nature of the case. "Some of the claims which I could read in the press are so absurd that one is tempted to believe that all this could a big hoax, or something more serious". However, Ayo Madhure, the Ndambian Union's leader, didn't support Luvik's words, after hours of criticism by government representatives and other political parties. "It is clear that our organization, the Ndambian Union, could never support violent acts of any kind, and we trust the police", he declared. He also confirmed that those involved in the plot has already been officially expelled from the party, which would start an internal investigation. He also threatened with legal action against anyone who affirmed that his political party could have been involved in the terrorist plot.

No statement was made from the Royal House, while it was confirmed that the Queen Kangela already returned to the capital city of Alunda from Braz, where she had attended to the final matches of the Braz International Tennis Championship. She is expected to continue with her agenda next Monday.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company | Achkaerin and Quinntopia Players Crowned as Winners in the Braz International Tennis Championship

The Men's Championship final match closed officially the Braz International Tennis Championship. David H'Daen of Achkaerin won in four sets his rival, Tikhon Ivanov of Meche, in three hours and 24 minutes. The victory also means H'Daen will be world number one in the MTFA Ranking ahead of his rival of today.

H'Daen was clearly better than his rival in the first two sets, but he was quashed by the Meche's player in the third one. The next and last set was the most equal of the match, but H'Daen could win, avoiding a fifth match.

On the Women's Championship final, played only a few hours before, Violetta Vasilyeva of Quinntopia avoided that the title would leave the Ardian continent. She won Melody Carwright of Achkaerin in an equal match.

Carwright proved as a consistent and steady player during the whole championship, and many predicted her victory, in an unexpected double win for Achkaerin, but she wasn't able to break the pace of the disciplined Quinntopian player. Carwright is likely to expect a rematch in the Achkaerin Championship, the next MFTA Great Championship to be played, only a few months ahead.

The Chairman of the Ndambian Royal Tennis Association declared the Braz International Tennis Championship as "a great and unprecedented social success", despite the local players had only a secondary role during the championship. Only two players, a man and a woman, were able to reach the quater-finals, when they were defeated. "This only proves the competitiveness and quality of this year", he declared. "I'm convinced our players will give us much joy in the coming tournaments", he declared.

The Braz International Tennis Championship was closed in a pleasing ceremony, which ended with Sovereign Queen Kangela I giving the trophies to the winners.

Alunda Chronicle | New Church's Leadership Starts Moral Crusade

The Ndambian Panentheist Church celebrated a controversial Bishops' Council -the highest assembly in the Church- in the city of Jawa. Despite being the official head of the church, Queen Kangela did not attend to the Council, many believe because the organization of the religious assembly could assure the security of the event, considering the chaotic way the Council was called. It was, therefore, the first time that the Sovereign Monarch -or Regent- didn't attend to at least the inauguration to a Bishops' Council. And this was not, certainly, an ordinary one.

The Bishops' Council was tense and heat, and many voices talked about fraud and rigging, words rather unexpected in a religious event of that kind. The controversy started several weeks before the Council itself, with many local parishes and Panentheist communities recalling their priests and bishops, a practice recognized by the rules of the church, but rarely practiced. The procedure establishes if there are enough complaints about any clergyman by his own community, the Holy Synod must designate a commitee which would investigate those claims. It also establishes that a bishop could not attend a Bishops' Council until the revision of the case was completed. Although such situation was unprecedented (only two bishops were recalled in the last 80 years, according to some sources), liberal theologians denounced that conservative militant groups used such procedure in order to veto liberal and progressive bishops.

Although the Bishops' Council was planned to deal mainly with administrative issues, it also agreed, by a majority vote, in a statement against some of the government's reform on moral and religious issues, calling for a more disciplined and organized answer of the members of the Church against them, although openly rejecting any kind of violence. The statement ended with a call to "unity and spiritual strength". Olumide Tunde, Chairman of the Holy Synod since 1997, confirmed his resignation, and a new Holy Synod was appointed, with a clear conservative majority this time. Ayotunde Ofeney, 76, was appointed as new Chairman of the Holy Synod. It is expected that the new Holy Synod will call for a new Ecumenical Council, although Archbishop Ofeney was not between the religious leaders who have supported this idea recently. The next meeting of the Holy Synod is expected to deal with this issue.

Alunda Chronicle | Ndambian Church Imposes New Tough Line Against Government's Secular Policies

If the Holy Synod of the Ndambian Panentheist Church expelled and excommunicated more than 200 progressive priests and theologians who criticized the election of the new Church's leadership last week, it dangled threat of excommunication over lawmakers who vote against the church's teaching on moral and administrative issues. The legislation would deprive the Church from state funds, and limited their influence in schools, a movement which was described by bishops as "radical secularism".

This would be an unprecedented move from the Church which, although it has experienced few changes on doctrine during the last decades, usually avoided to be involved in national politics. The Head of the Holy Synod, Ayotunde Ofeney, also confirmed that the Ecumenical Council will be called in the next Church's conference.

It's not clear if this changed of policy would strengthen or divide the Church. It had, however, its first political consequence: Adetokungo Badmine, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Religious Affairs who announced his resignation. Badmine was one of the excommunicated members of the Church last week. Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine declared that the Government will not stop its plans, and that a new Minister will be appointed in the coming week.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company | Ndambian Parliament Passes Sanctions on Zachachevania

The Ndambian Assembly passed sanctions legislation against the regime of Zachachevania with 113 votes for, 7 against, while three abtained. Although sanctions against the neighbor country were discussed before, the legislation was imposed as consequence of the recent legislation against the rule of law, human rights, and unlawful confiscation of property by the Zachachevania's state.

The measure would deny visas and freezes assets of key officials of the Zachachevania's Government.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayotunde Ologa has declared that the aim of this legislation is not forcing a regime's change, but a change of their unlawful economic legislation and imperialist foreign policy. "We're confident that more nations will follow this path, until the Zachachevanian's government reconsiders their dangerous and wrong policies", he said.

Alunda Chronicle | Parliament Approves "Active Border Act", on Zachachevanian emigration and refugees

The Ndambian parliament passed a new law, which is expected to be signed by Queen Kangela I next Friday. The law applies to any native or citizen of the Republic of Zachachevania who has been inspected and admitted into the Kingdom of Ndambia after December 31, 2015. The law will essentially imply that anyone who fled Zachachevania and enters the Kingdom of Ndambia would be allowed to pursue residency for six months. If such person is able to find a legal job in such time, he would quality for expedited legal permanent resident status in the Kingdom and, eventually Ndambian citizenship, in the terms established by the law (8 years of semi-permanent residency).

The preamble of the law justifies the necessity of the legislation in order to answer a migration reality, but also on the ground of Labour policy and protection of human rights. The law was passed by 88 for and 47 against. The legislation on non-Zachachevanian citizens will remain without changes.

Braz Herald | Politician from the Ndambian National Party Arrested on Corruption Case

Following an investigation of a recorded tape, which were received by anonymous means, judicial sources claim, a judge from the city of Braz has ordered the arrest of Resim Masade, former Treasurer of the Ndambian National Party, and currently a MP in the State of Jawa. The politician is accused of accepting a bribe from a national financial firm.

However, according to sources confirmed by this newspaper, this affair could be a more serious one. The judicial investigation, according to our sources, could involve several licenses and actions of the last cabinets of former Prime Minister Kilinji Zanga, at least between 2006 and 2012. The investigation would implicate certain suspicious political-economical deals, regarding the procedure of awarding top positions in important state conglomerates and companies to political figures of the Ndambian National Party, or at least to managers with a clear political orientation.

Although our newspaper could not contact former Prime Minister Zanga himself, a Speaker from the family has denied any wrongdoings. Meanwhile, Kayode Alawe, General Secretary of the Ndambian National Party, has distanced the political party from the arrest of Masade. “There are no doubts about cleanliness of our party”, he said. And he denied any illegal agreements or contracts during the NNP's governments. He also warned the current Government about trying to create false charges in order to their own incompetence, and than the NNP wouldn't hesitate to denounce and attack any partisan use of state institutions, specially the judiciary system.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company | Three Arrested on Smuggling and Terrorism Charges

Three Ndambian citizens were arrested by the National Guard in the province of Tizkhde, State of Northern Kajikya. The police detained the suspects, all of them ethnic-Kijiko, when they were travelling in a state road, not far from both the State of Kajikya and the Zachachevanian-Ndambian border. The agents discovered automatic weapons and around 100,000 Rokkenjiman Ducats in cash money, which led to their arrest.

One of the suspects was confirmed as Salebh Joeseb, the brother-in-law of MP Ayo Joeseb, currently a member of the People's Party of Kajikya, a member of the far-left Ndambian Left Movement. Ayo Joeseb denied any implication, and he accused Minister Lendez of organizing “a political plot in order to divert attention from corruption cases”.

Although the three citizens arrested haven't neither criminal records nor membership to any legal or illegal organization, the authorities believe they're likely to have contacts with a network of weapong-trafficking organizations which origin is unknown, the federal prosecutor declared.

Alunda Chronicle | A Scandal Shakes the Kingdom

The so-called “Operation Golden Wire”, the judicial investigation which led to the arrest of Resim Masade, threatens to cause a real earthquake in the political establishment of the country. Apparently, upset over this treatment by his former colleages of the Ndambian National Party, who denied any involvement and accused him of being “a wayward fraudster who stained the name of honorable political movement”, Masade could have begun giving information about the corruption implicating his colleagues and others. Since then, new details and implicated people are being known.

Last Monday, many industrial figures and former politicians, most of them members or associated with the Ndambian National Party were arrested on charges of corruption. Although the investigations started in the city of Braz, they've spread from other towns, being finally the Federal Court of Alunda in charge of the main investigation. This move was denounced by Kayode Alawe, of the Ndambian National Party, as a “clear politicization of the case”. Between the detainees were Kayin Anadabo (former Minister of Regional Development), Enitan Doluwale (former Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism), Abiode Dakhine (former Speaker of the Ndambian Parliament), and Amadi Zanga, the second son of former Prime Minister Kilinji Zanga, between others. Abiodun Udabene, current President of the State of Igune, along other 7 MPs of the parliament from the Ndambian National Party and two independents were formally accused of several charges by the judge, but they weren't called by the court as they've parliamentary immunity.

But two days ago, the crisis backfired the Government. Information spread that members of the Liberal Party, which joined a coalition government with the Ndambian National Party from December 2013 to September 2014, could have also supposedly accepting accepted money from the financial network established by Resim Masade and others. The names of Olumide Angue, Minister of Administrative Affairs, and Bosede Olagawe, Minister of Internal Affairs, were mentioned, along Omobolanle Mbande, Queen Kangela's cousin, in similar activities. Although the investigation didn't confirm the truth of such informations, this have caused a deep internal crisis in the Government of Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine. Some members of the opposition demanded even the Prime Minister resignation. An outcome that the Prime Minister rejected, declaring that he will continue his “principle fight against corruption and for transparency”.

Yesterday, it was confirmed that Ministers Olagawe and Angue were forced to resign from their positions in the government. If confirmed their implication by the legal authorities, the Speaker of the Constitutional Liberal Party announced, they will be automatically expelled from the party.

Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine is expected to meet with Queen Kangela in the coming hours. Meanwhile, the far-left Ndambian Left Movement has announced that it will organize a demonstration in the capital city of Alunda against corruption, demanding the Prime Minister to resign and calling for early elections.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company | Queen Kangela Condemns Corruption

In a speech broadcast from the University of Nomakh, Queen Kangela attacked the current situation in the country, affected recently by several cases of corruption across the country. “Corruption is not merely a moral disorder”, she said. “We've [in Ndambian language] a much better, precise word to describe that practice, and that word is 'theft'. Corruption is thieving, it is stealing, it is robbery. It has no place, and it must not be tolerated, in public life".

Posted Image

“Public figures do not deserve to profit or become rich because of their office”, she declared. “They do not deserve special treatment. There must not be favoured treatment for those occupying a position of public responsability". Although the Queen did not mentioned directly her own cousin, who is due to stand trial for money laundering and influence peddling, those words were considered by many as an indirect reference of the case. Omobolanle, 47, and his son are accused of embezzling several millions of Ndambian florins in public funds, being the first Ndambian royal to face trial.

She declared that transparency must be an absolute goal in order to end with corruption and immoral practices. “Corruption must be stamped out”, she said, “and the people should take heart that high-level figures accused of irregular conduct are being held legally accountable”. She also said that the Government must collaborate with the legal authorities in order to assure a fast but fair justice. “Noone, from the first family to the last, must escape from Justice”, she added. “Few subjects arouse such an unanimous opinion, as they harm the whole society. We must not hesitate to cut corruption at its roots”.

“In the last decades, we've done a huge effort in order to build a better country, to modernize our nation, for the well-being of every citizen of our Kingdom”, Queen Kangela argued. “We must build a country where corruption is known to be unacceptable. But as we can see, changing behavior of both individuals and organizations is another, and requires a collective endeavour, will and action of many ordinary people. Such collective agreement and effort is required today, as well as the system to prevent, and the institutions to catch and punish wrongdoers... A renovate effort is needed, and the Government should contribute to that goal, as much as the rest of our society, with courage and new initiatives”.

The Kingdom of Ndambia has seen recently a number of corruption cases brought against various politicians including Kilinji Zanga, former Prime Minister between 1997 and 2014. Since the corruption scandals were made public, Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine's Government, in office since September 2014, has faced serious criticism, despite the resignation of two ministers accused of wrondoings and the dismissal of several officials linked to the Golden Wire case.

Queen Kangela finished her speech saying that she hoped that a fair but successful veredict in such cases would reassure people that those accused of “irregular conduct” were being held to account.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company | Prime Minister Announces Reshuffle of Government

The day started with surprising news. Ayotunde Ologa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced his resignation as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Although the announcement was unexpected, Minister Ologa had experienced recently a big pressure by the oppostion and the media, as the corruption scandals regarding Ndambian National Party's governments, also affected several members of the Liberal Party (including two ministers and other fight MPs) when the centrist party had several ministers in the coalition government and Ologa himself was leader of the party and Deputy Prime Minister.

Ologa, however, denied any wrongdoing by either him or the Liberal Party as such, as he defended the legacy of the political party (which he led from 2001 to 2014, when the Liberal Party merged with the Constitutional Party, forming the Constitutional Liberal Party), and his own political career. He declared, though, that he resigned because he has considered that his political responsability -"of a different nature of ethical or criminal responsabilities", he added, was to avoid "such wrongdoings that, supposedly, happened and are currently being investigated by the justice". Minister Ologa also declared that his resignation was motivated by his wish to not harm the government and the nation in an important situation as the present one.

However, Ayotunde Ologa, 56, declared that he does not consider his resignation as the end of his political career, "at least not necessarily". He confirmed that he will remain in the Ndambian Assembly (where he was been from 1994 to 1997, and from 2001 to the present day) until, at least, the next elections. He asked to all his colleagues to respect and accept his decision. He finished his speech expressing his support to Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine and the Constitutional Liberal Party, and denying he was going to leave the CLP group in the parliament.

It was known that while Minister Ologa was reading his announcement, Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine was meeting with several members of the opposition. On evening, the Speaker of the Constitutional Liberal Party confirmed that the Prime Minister did not plan to resign and that early elections were not being considered. He announced, however, that Prime Minister had decided a reshuffle of the Government, after talks with the Opposition.

He announced that the new Government will be composed by 15 ministers, and the center-left United Social Democratic Party will join the government. The new government will be composed by six members of the Constitutional Liberal Party, six of the United Social Democratic Party, three ministers of the Moderate Party, and an independent. It was confirmed that the independent minister will be Olabode Mekhod, a former judge -well-known for his contribution on the fight against organized crime- who will be in charge of the Ministry of Justice, "with special powers and orders to fight corruption". Milola Gause, the leader of the center-left USPD will be the new Deputy Prime Minister and she will be also the new Minister of Foreign Affairs. The new USPD ministers will held important Ministries such as Finance, Defense, and Labour and Immigration. Although the number of Constitutional Liberal Party's ministers will be reduced by a half, the Speaker of the CLP declared that no new members of the party will enter in the government. He declared, just before reading the complete list of ministers, that they will remain in their position or allocate in different ones.

Regarding the Moderate Party, Mbede Lendez, Tinza Heintze and Monifa Tanufku will be the three members of the party who will remain in the Government. The new government will be the first government in the history of Ndambia with an equal representation, with eight female ministers and eight male ministers (if the Prime Minister is counted), which is considered one of the demands of the USPD's leader.

The new government will took the oath of office tomorrow in the Aafine palace, in a ceremony presided by Queen Kangela, as the law determines.

Alunda Chronicle | New Government Announces Policy Changes, But Instability Increases in Parliament

In a conference this morning, Idowu Koweo, Minister of Trade, Industry, and Tourism, and the new Minister of Finance, Amadi Nigboya, announced some of the new policies of the new coalition government. Nigboya, who was once a member of the Liberal Party and the leader of the short-lived Democratic Party, declared that "no big changes are expected", as the budget was already expected and the economy is growing. However, he said that some minor changes were needed, as the new coalition agreed to modify some of the government's goals and "unexpected events require to correct certain problems".

Koweo declared that some subsidies -those who were approved but not still implemented- to companies will be annulled and withdrawn, specially those to energy companies, as the new government had agreed to support and increase -although in a reasonable and gradual way- the use of cleaner energy. The Government plans to save money from the reduction and reform of some ministries and departments. Those funds will be allocated -besides a slightly increase in the Defense budget- to the recently created Ministry of Healthcare, and to the reformed Ministry of Justice, in order to fight corruption in a more efficient way.

Minister Nigboya declared that the coalition government will consider a fiscal reform, with a moderate increase of taxes, for the new year, but only if the economy keeps growing to the current rate. The coalition government will study the creation of a "Social Wage" for unemployed workers, and promote the dialogue with business organizations and unions. "We're also studying a reform of the labour market, which should be beneficial for all sides", he declared.

However, the coalition government could be close to lost its majority in the Ndambian Assembly, as six members of the Moderate Party has announced that the oppose the inclusion of the center-left United Social Democratic Party in the coalition, along some of the proposals announced. They will join the Centrist Group, formed recently by dissenters MPs from the Constitutional Liberal Party, two former members of the Ndambian National Party, and another expelled member of the Moderate Party. Therefore, if the ruling parties only lose another MPs, they could lose their majority in the parliament.

Alunda Chronicle | Panentheist Dissenters Call For Reconciliation and Religious Unity

A large and important meetings of Panentheist believers who are critical with the current leadership of the Ndambian Panentheist Church gathered this weekend in the city of Nomakh. The event was organized by the Society for Reformed Faith -which was created by a group of progressive and liberal theologians and priests expelled recently by the Ndambian Panentheist Church-, along other twenty-six religious organizations.

The event was described as "friendly and constructive, even if important differences were clear" by most of the participants our newspaper talked with. They could agree, however, in a common manifesto, which called to defend "Panentheist values" without creating "differences and conflict within Ndambia society". They expressed support to the traditional pragmatical preaching of the Church, opposing to recent discussions in the Holy Synod, which recently called to oppose openly divorce and calling for monogamy as something more than a preferential advice. The manifesto also declared that the institutions of the church should be based on an "apolitical and anti-partisan" which acted independently from political institutions, although without calling openly for a real separation between church and state.

The conference called for a Council of Panentheist Communities, to be organized in the coming months, where all Panentheist believers, independently of their position in the current division in the Church, would be invited.

Alunda Chronicle | Scandal Reaches Unexpected Level, As Former Prime Minister Leaves The Country

The legacy of former Prime Minister Kilinji Zanga, who ruled the country from 1997 to 2014, years which were considered -even his own political enemies- of prosterity and development, seems moving in shambles. Last Friday, it came to light the last episode of the corruption case known as "Operation Golden Wire", which investigates the corruption under several governments of the Ndambian National Party. It was revealed, athough that wasn't confirmed officially, that Ayo Ndhele -former Chairman of the Ndambian National Mining Trust- had confessed that the company had paid the Zanga's family certain amount of money in exchange for extending the legal place for capitalization, which was needed in order to finance new explotations. Such claims were denied by an official declaration of the Zanga's family, but the judge issued an order calling the former Prime Minister to appear in the court the coming weeks. No charges were announced, and the judge did not order limitations of movement against Zanga, as he had done with other accused in the same case.

It was certainly shocking news, even for the parliamentary group of the Ndambian National Party itself, but today reports did probably leave the country in a state of astonishment: rumours started to spread that the former Prime Minister could have leave the country this Monday, and therefore, ignoring the judge's petition to appear before the Alunda Court Number Twenty-two. The rumours forced the Minister of Internal Affairs to declare that the Ministry was investigating the truth of such reports, after a procedural petition of the Ministry of Justice.

Currently, it is difficult to say that where lies the truth and what are simple rumours. It seems confirmed that former Prime Minister Kilinji Zanga -along his wife and one of his daughters- is no longer in the Kingdom. It seems also confirmed that he left the country in a private airplane last Sunday nightfall, landing in the capital city of Tytor. According to our sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zanga only remained a few hours in the mentioned country, leaving Tytor in a commercial airplane direction to Dauntel, Federation of Dijel.

This is where information becomes more confusing. Local reporters first had informed that Zanga was probably using the island as a bridge to somewhere else. However, anonymous sources affirmed that Zanga would have been in one of the main and most exclusive hotels of the island. The last reports (which were not confirmed by the lawyers of the Zanga's family, but they weren't officially denied either) talk about Kilinji Zanga asking for political assylum in the mentioned country, claiming that his prosecution was "a shock trial organized by certain figures, specially Prime Minister Fedosine and Minister Lendez, to force the Queen to call a 'national coalition goverment' which would announce the Kingdom leaving the Confederation of Independent States", and a "attempt to destroy the Ndambian National Party, in order to save the government from recent decrease of its popularity".

The Speaker of the Government declared that the government won't answer "neither rumours nor absurd claims".

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company | Ndambian Olympic Team Received by Queen Kangela

The Ndambian Olympic Team, which barely came back from the East Moreland Olympic Games, were received by Queen Kangela in the Aafine Palace, Alunda. Almost all the sportpeople who participated in the Games attended, many of them with their own families, with only seven absences.

Although the Ndambian Team ended in a discreet 21th place, the last Olympic Games were considered the most successful result for the Kingdom of Ndambia in an international event, specially considering that it doubled the number of medals from the former Games, obtaining a total of 26, with five gold medals, seven silver medals, and fourteen bronze medals. The Ndambian Team showed a considerably improvement in fields such as Athletics (obtaining eight medals), Swimming (four medals), and Weighlifting. However, the Ndambian Olympic Team had a more disappointed result in some disciplines which been successful in the past, such as boxing, martial arts, rowing or diving, and specially team sports, with the exceptions of Volleyball, Rugby, and Muggle Quidditch (the latter being an unexpected surprise, considering the lack of a professional league in the country). The swimmer Babatunde Obalobo, the only Ndambia athlete who had obtained a medal in the previous Olympic Games, and runner Monifa Eqobe (who obtained medals in 100m and 200m, and therefore becoming the only Ndambia sportwomen who obtained two medals in the same Olympic Games), proved to be two of the most acclaimed sportpeople of the Ndambian Team, along Ige Akhade, the winner of the Women's Marathon.

The act started in the Obide Garden, where the press were received and the Queen praised the Ndambian sportpeople. "They can be considered a good example, even one of the best of our country, for every citizen of our Kingdom", Kangela declared. "Their success gave us strength in our personal and social shortcomings, while their effort and faith show us the way to follow". After the act, the Olympic Team were invited to a private lunch in the palace. On afternoon, an official ceremony started, where several prizes were granted.

Alunda Chronicle | Queen Kangela Dissolves Government, Calls For Early Elections

After the ruling Constitutional Liberal Party suffered three new desertions from former members in the Ndambian Assembly, the Lower House of the Kingdom's Parliament, and last Thursday the Government lost a Vote of No Confidence by 76-74, the Queen announced today that, after meeting with the Prime Minister, she was calling for early elections.

She justified such decision in the "unexpected and anormal situation" the current Lower House is experiencing with so many "rebel MPs" and the resulting lack of legitimacy in many citizens eyes. She, however, did not disapprove openly the current Government, and she declared that it is not "her wish to interfere in the formation of a new government" but to allow the people and the citizens "to decide a better scenario".

Although, according the constitution, a vote of no confidence does not imply, automatically, the dissolution of the parliament, it gives the power to the Monarch to either propose or appoint a new Minister or dissolve the parliament, calling for early elections.

The Speaker of the Government reported that the new elections could be held as early as March, only seven months after the last parliamentary elections. Meanwhile, the current cabinet will be still in their positions.

The last poll gave a majority to the political parties which form the current coalition government -the Constitutional Liberal Party, the Moderate Party, and the United Social Democratic Party-, but it is unclear if they will keep it the day of the elections, considering the growing trend of the conservative National People's Party and the far-left Ndambian Left Movement.

The last polls also show a continuous decline for the Ndambian National Party, which ruled the country from 1997 and 2014, consequence of the recent scandals of corruption affecting the party, which exacerbated after former Prime Minister Kilinji Zanga was reported fleeing the country.

Alunda Chronicle | Ndambian Government Strongly Condemns Actions of Zachachevania's Regime

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Milola Gause today issued the following statement:

Quote:

"The Kingdom of Ndambia strongly condemns last Zachachevanian actions and accusations against our nation.

The Zachariev Rosocor's regime is a grave threat to the security and stability of the region and beyond. With their last statement, the regime has once again shown total disregard for the freedom and will of its people, which are deprived from their basic freedoms and human rights.

We urge the Zachachevania's Government to cease this repressive behaviour and stop such slanderous and absurd accusations, which only aim is to distract their citizens from the abusive actions of the regime. It is deplorable that the Zachachevania's regime continues its provocations and accusations against other free and peaceful countries while the basic needs of the Zachachevanian people go unment.

The Kingdom of Ndambia stands with the international community in condemning this reprehensible act. We urge all governments and people of conscience to exert maximum pressure on the Zachachevania's regime to immediately cease such abuses and any form of repression that violates the rights of Zachachevanian citizens to live their lives without fear".

The statement was issued the same day that electoral campaign officially ended, as million of Ndambian citizens are called to vote next Sunday in the parliamentary elections. The statement was supported by most political parties both from the government coalition and the opposition, but some voices criticized the moment chosen.

"It is unfortunate to see a political party using a ministry in order to spread political messages, independently of the truth of such statements", Ayo Bosede, the leader of the National People's Party, declared. Bosede noted the fact that Minister Gause, who is also the candidate of the center-left United Social Democratic Party, has been campaigned for a more principle foreign policy, in support for human rights and democracy abroad.

More critical was the candidate of the far-left Ndambian Left Movement, which accused the government to try to influence the outcome of the elections with such statement beyond the limits of the law. The far-left coalition is well-known for its criticism of Ndambian membership in the CIS, and it had expressed recently their support to ending sanctions against the Zachachevania's regime, claiming that they damage the Ndambian economy and that there wasn't further necessity once that the last conflict between Zachachevania and other foreign governments had ended. Candidates from the far-left coalition, however, have avoided to express their opinion on the last actions of the neighbor regime.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company | Elections Results on Hung Parliament, Government Coalition Loses Majority

The opposition conservative Ndambian People's Party won the most votes in the Ndambian parliamentary elections, beating the centrist ruling party Constitutional Liberal Party in a close fight that centered on corruption and cultural policy, specially regarding the conflict between the government and the new leadership of the Ndambian Panentheist Church regarding the role of religion in education and liberal legislation contrary to religious values. The leadership of the Ndambian Panentheist Church openly supported the conservative party in the electoral campaign.

Bosede Ayo's National People's Party gained 28.9% of the votes, an unprecedented result for a political party founded only a few months ago. The Social Conservative Party and the Ndambian Union, two of the political forces which merged into the National People's Party, had obtained merely a combined 8.9% of the votes in the last general elections in 2014. Meanwhile, the Constitutional Liberal Party, led by Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine, got 26.7% of votes -down from 38.1% in the last elections- and four MPs less than their conservative rivals.

The other members of the current ruling government coalition, the centrist Moderate Party and the center-left United Social Democratic Party, obtained a more than disappointing results, and therefore coalition government lost the majority of the Ndambian Congress, the Lower House of the Parliament. However, the Constitutional Liberal Party and the United Social Democratic Party will conserve a clear majority in the Federal Assembly, the 42-members Upper House.

The United Social Democratic Party obtained 10.4% of the votes and 16 MPs, a similar vote than a year ago, but increasing their representatives in four. However, the results were disappointing compared to the 26.1% of the votes obtained by the USDP in the 2015 local elections, before the USDP joined the government. In less than two months, the USDP had declined from the second to the fourth political party of the country.

For the other political party in the coalition government, the Moderate Party, the results disastrous, obtaining only 2.2% of the votes, and therefore failing to enter in the parliament. Mbede Lendez, the leader of the Moderate Party and former diplomat and Minister of Foreign Affairs, which had already declared that this was expected to be his last term as MP, is expected to resign as Minister of Federal Development. The future of the centrist party is uncertain.

The far-left Ndambian Left Movement was the third most voted political force, getting 16.5% of the votes, up from 3.7%. The leftist coalition, formed by the Ndambian Republican Party and other left-wing political parties, obtained 27 representatives, a record for an openly anti-monarchist force. The Ndambian Left Movement campaigned for a nationalization and protectionist economic program, along a neutrality policy on foreign affairs, advocating openly for a withdrawal of the Kingdom of Ndambia from the CIS. However, the result were disappointing at some extent compared to recent polls. The recent actions and threats by the Zachachevania's regime were likely to have a negative impact on the coalition electoral results, as the far-left coalition has been a proponent of the normalization of relations with the northern communist state.

Meanwhile, the Ndambian National Party obtained the worst result in its history, with 4.8% of the votes and only five representatives. The center-right political party even obtained a worse result than the regional Kijiko Democratic Party, which obtained eight representatives. The Ndambian National Party, which ruled the Kingdom of Ndambia between 1997 and 2014, has recently been affected by several scandals of corruption, which include the flight from the country of former Prime Minister Kilinji Zanga. Only a few minutes after the confirmation of the official results, Afolabi Jagune, the leader of the Ndambian National Party, announced his resignation as President of the NNP and his retirement from politics. Jagune was previously Deputy Minister and Minister of Defense, and he had a brief tenure as Prime Minister during the Second Ndambian Civil War (2014).

Considering the results, it is not clear if Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine could hold his position, after losing the majority in the Lower House. However, other alternatives are unclear. A coalition between the Constitutional Liberal Party and the Ndambian People's Party seems unlikely, considering the deep political differences between both parties, and the far-left Ndambian Left Movement seems an even more unlikely coalition partner by either of the two main political parties. If Queen Kangela fails to mediate an agreement between the main political parties, another early elections seems difficult to avoid, which could increase the risk of an unstable political situation.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed that Queen Kangela will meet tomorrow with representatives of all the elected political parties, in order to discuss the current political situation and the recent political crisis regarding the Zachachevania's regime.

Breaking News: Kingdom Mobilizes Military, 'High Alert' Declared over Zachachevania Threats

General Mbandi Gazanh, Ndambian Armed Forces Chief of Staff, has confirmed that the Kingdom has started mobilizing military forces in the northern states in response to the last threats by the Zachachevania's regime, which claimed an unprecedented and massive mobilization nearby the Zachachevania-Ndambia border.

Ndambian forces have been deployed in the northern states of Jawa, Banoga, and Northern Kajikya. The area around the Western Forest, nearby the northwestern Zachachevanian-Ndambian border in the state of Kajikya, were also reportedly being patrolled by planes.

Although officials believe these last threats are another bluff by the Zachachevania's regime, in order to avoid further pressure against the last abuses on human rights by the communist regime, the Ndambian authorities, in cooperation with our allies, are taking seriously this situation. "We move with firmness but caution", General Gazanh declared, "as any miscalculation could lead to all-out war". Gazanh assured that the mobilization is a "purely defensive measure", but armed forces should be prepared for retaliation against the Zachachevania Army, in case the territory of the Kingdom of Ndambia is attacked. The Chief of Staff confirmed he is in permanent communication with the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Defense, and the Monarch and our allies as well.

A military advisor, reportedly speaking to Braz Herald on condition of anonymity, has declared that the chances of a real military conflict are unlikely, as the Zachachevania's regime is well aware that any real military confrontation would lead to the "unstoppable collapse of the regime". However, many analysts have warned about the recent unpredictable behavior of Zachariev Rosocor, the Zachachevania's supreme leader. Unconfirmed reports talk about a decline on health of the communist leader, and that he could be suffering from an early stage of dementia.

Alunda Chronicle | Zachachevania Designated as a Sponsor of Terrorism, While Armed Forces Are Fully Mobilized

A resolution of the Ndambian Congress approved the designation of the Zachachevania's regime as a "State Sponsor of Terrorism", becoming the first state to receive such status. That will freeze any remaining diplomatic relation, and more and harsh sanctions will be imposed, following new legislation in the Federal Chamber. Sanctions are likely to be include Zachachevania's allies as well.

Doing business with Zachachevanian state-owned companies, or with formal ties with the communist regime, could result in a criminal offense, and Ndambian citizens and organizations will not be allowed to have formal relation with the Zachachevania's regime. If proven, it could lead such charges as collaboration with criminal activity or even treason.

The resolution was approved by 42 of the 44 members of the Upper House. Only two members of the far-left Ndambian Left Movement voted against. Kayode Bulupe, General Secretary of the Ndambian Republican Party, the main political party of the far-left coalition, instead demanded the Ndambian Government to "try a diplomatic and peaceful end to the current crisis".

Meanwhile, General Mbandi Gazanh, Chief of Staff of the Ndambian Armed Forces, announced full mobilization of the Armed Forces, including the Royal Guard. "We must be, and we're, prepared for any scenario. But the situation is clearly under control and calm should prevail". Queen Kangela is believed to address the nation during the coming days, in a special message.

Alunda Chronicle | Queen Kangela Denounces Zachachevanian Imperialism and Demands Unity

In a speech which was broadcast from the Aafine Palace in Alunda, Queen Kangela I denounced the invasion of Nueva Ardia by the communist regime of Zachachevania. We reproduce the most important paragraphs of the speech.

Quote:

“We, Ndambians", she said, "know well the horrors of war, the destruction and death that it always brings. Barely a year ago we experienced the last military conflict which threatened our institutions, peace, and prosperity. Our thoughts and wishes are always with those peoples and citizens who had suffered and are still suffering the horrors of war. We are convinced that the friendly and peaceful people of Seaforth, which recently suffered war at a higher scale, will be able to start a period of peace, prosperity and understanding. On the other hand, we have seen with concern the recent events in Nueva Ardia”.

“I understand the fear of war which may afflict our country and the whole continent. As we love life, freedom, and peace, we dislike war. But we should not, and will not, be dominated by that fear. We must be prepare to defend our freedom, our prosperity, and our constitutional order, despite all short-comings. Yes, we dislike war. But as we seek peace, we must be prepared for war”.

“As the conflict in Nueva Ardia has shown, we are not facing an ordinary threat. The Rosocor's regime has proved to be a totalitarian and rogue state which promotes terrorism and war beyond its own borders. A regime which only policy is constantly threatening sovereign nations and promoting war conflict. We are not interested in any kind of military conflict, but we must prepared to face such threats. And I'm glad that most of the parliamentary groups, along as the our civil society as a whole, are quite aware of that situation”.

“But first than all, despite the challenge we certainly face, it must be said that we are certain that the future and success is on our side. We will maintain and improve, with the help of our friends and our allies, the capacity to deter Zachachevania's aggression at any level at which it might occur. Therefore, I announce that, if the Nueva Ardian Government requested so, the Kingdom of Ndambia is willing to send humanitarian aid to the recently invaded country. If needed, we would be willing to send defensive military aid, and we ask our allies to do the same”.

“But this will not be achieved only through military means. It is required that the international community stands firm and shows clearly that Zachachevanian imperialism will not be tolerated, and their promotion of terror and war must be stopped. It is needed to say: either you stop your current path of confrontation and terror, or you will face a permanent isolation from the international community. Therefore, the Kingdom of Ndambia will not recognize the so-called 'People's Republic of Andean', and we ask the interionational community to do the same".

“Finally, it must be said that this is not a conflict between the nation and peoples of Ardia. We know very well that the people of Zachachevania is a friendly and peaceful people who is willing the cooperation and peace between the rest of Ardian nations. We know well because we have received thousands of Zachachevanian citizens who came to our country in recent years, escaping the reign of terror established in that country. We know well that the Zachachevania's regime is not a strong one. It is a weak and scared one, which is even afraid of its own citizens, and that is the only reason why the Zachachevanian Government constantly threaten with terror and war. Such regime has not chance of winning, and it will not last, until they change their current imperialist policies. And I must end saying that the recent sad invasion of Nueva Ardia must lead us to start and improve the cooperation between the Ardian nations, not the contrary, in order to build a prosperous and peaceful continent".

The speech was praised by most of the parliamentary groups and political parties of the Kingdom. Only the Speaker of the People's Party of Kajikya openly criticized the speech for "being a clear violation of the neutral role assigned to the Monarch", he said.

Alunda Chronicle | Ruling Coalition Strengthens Ties, Not Without Division

The Democratic Coalition, recently formed by the ruling parties United Social Democratic Party and the Constitutional Liberal Party, along minor civil society organizations, held this week its first congress. The 722 delegates agreed in an united political manifesto and electoral program, which aims to continue the reforms started by the government, improve transparency and independence of the judiciary system, a more investment in education and science, along a more active foreign policy. The Congress elected a 11-members Federal Committee, formed by six members from the Constitutional Liberal Party and five members from the USDP. Babajide Fedosine, current Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Ndambia, was confirmed as candidate in the next elections, by the vote of 99.02% of the delegated. However, Fedosine will not have any active position in the coalition as such. Bosede Solagoke, former Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs, was elected as Speaker of the Democratic Coalition, while Milola Gause will be in charge of the internal organization of the coalition.

Although the formal coalition was thought to increase the changes of getting more seats in the parliament, it has on the contrary increases the opposition to a longer cooperation inside both parties. Three years ago, the Socialist Democratic Group, a radical left-wing current inside the USDP and led by former MP Ayo Dawale, announced that they were not going to be part of the new coalition, leaving the party. The opposition in the congress was led by, on the contrary, a small group of members of the Constitutional Liberal Party, who opposed much of the social program included in the political manifesto. They were defeated, though, and it is not clear if they will try to form their own political organization before the next elections.

Nevertheless, the congress was finished without major incidents, and Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine closed it with a final speech which summarized the legislation and successes of his government, along the future ones.

  • Dissapointing start for Ndambian teams in the Mundus Champions League. Only Braz Rovers achieve a draw away against Carolina City.

Alunda Chronicle | Democratic Coalition Fails to Convince Voters in Parliamentary Elections

The elections for the Ndambian Congress, the third in a year, could have placed Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine and his government in a complicated situation. The elections, which registered a turnout of 51.3%, the lowest turnout in 16 years, gave the Democratic Coalition (formed by Constitutional Liberal Party and the United Social Democratic Party, only members of the current coalition government) only 29,9% of the vote and 47 seats in the Congress. The most voted party was the National People's Party, led by Olumide Imdoesep, which obtained 36,7% and 68 seats. The 49-years old conservative leader called Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine's government "a failed experiment which time is over".

Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine declared that the results "were clearly bad", and in case a new government comes to power he will step down as leader of the Constitutional Liberal Party. His chances of staying in power are rare, as he would need the support of the far-left Ndambian Left Movement, which was third, obtaining 13,6% and 20 seats. Although the far-left coalition obtained landslide victories in the states of Nzamza, Banoga and Jawa, it had poor results in Alunda and the central states, and therefore slightly losing support and seven seats in the Lower House. Their radical platform -which opposes both CIS membership and the monarchy- make them a not very suitable and likely ally for any of the two main political parties.

Alliance for Ndambia, an electoral coalition formed by the center-right Ndambian National Party and former members of the Moderate Party, was fourth. Their results were modest -only two more seats than the Ndambian National Party obtained three months ago-, but the center-right coalition is likely to be key in the coming negatiations, despite the corruption scandals the formerly powerful political party was involved recently. The Kijiko Democratic Party, based on the Kajikya states, obtained 6,2% and 6 seats, their best results to the date, which give them hopes for the next state elections, to be hold in early 2018.

The Freedom Party became the surprise of the night, obtaining 3,1% and therefore becoming the sixth political force in the parliament, despite most polls give them between 1,5%-2,8%. The Freedom Party was created recently by Olamilekan Ofoede, who left recently the Constitutional Liberal Party along a small group who opposed more formal ties with the center-left United Social Democratic Party. Ofoede was Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism from late 2013 and early 2015. The Freedom Party was specially successful in the urban districts of Nzamza, Mebede and Igune. Ofoede has promised that their two elected members will focus in economic growth and national development, instead of "issues which divide the Ndambian population". He also assured that they'll willing to talk and discuss with "any possible candidate for Prime Minister", words that many have understood as a hint that he wouldn't oppose -an even may support- Imdoesep as new Prime Minister.

Imdoesep, who was leader of the Social Conservative Party before becoming the Chairman of the recently created National People's Party, hopes to achieve the support of the two centrist parties. The National People's Party, which initially opposed CIS membership and separation of the Church and State, has been moderated its discourse in the last months in order to appeal more voters. Imdoesep has promised to fight corruption but "without the judiciary for populist purposes", and an fiscal-conservative economic policy aimed to create more jobs and growth for the country. The party has, however, promised to defend traditional and family values, revoking much of the social legislation approved during Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine's governments.

Representatives are expected to meet with Queen Kangela in the coming week, following negotiations between the parliamentary groups.

Alunda Chronicle | Queen Kangela announces the end of a century of State-Church union

In her first speech since the last parliamentary elections, Queen Kangela appeared on Ndambian television announcing a revision of "state and church relations" in the Kingdom of Ndambia. In the last year, religious life have suffered big changes, with the Panentheist Church splitting in practice following the creation of the Reformed Panentheist Church, formed by priests expelled by the more conservative leadership of the official Ndambian Panentheist Church, and, following the election of Ayotunde Ofeney as Chairman of the Holy Synod, an increase of the Church involvement in national politics, as far as the Church representatives supporting openly the national-conservative National People's Party in the last elections. Those decisions, motivated by the passing of more secular legislation by last governments, proved controversial and leave to a decrease of the support of the Church, falling the identification with the Ndambian Panentheist Church down to a 51% in latest polls, a historical low.

In her speech, the Queen announced that she has asked the Holy Synod to call a Ecumenical Council, where the Panentheist leadership should realize the new religious reality of the country, and her own role should be revised accordingly. Although the monarch did not expressed openly, there can not be doubt from her words: she is expected to step down as official Head of Ndambian Panentheist Church, even if such role is largely ceremonial. She declared that her decision "was not a personal [one] but an institutional decision, in accordance to the new reality of the country, and in accordance to reign for every citizen of the Kingdom, independently of their personal beliefs or ethnic background". Therefore, such decision will, unequivocally, lead to the full separation of church and state for first time since the proclamation of the modern Ndambian monarchy.

Since it was announced, the Queen's speech has led to a complex and heat discussion in the country, as there is no clear antecedents how the current situation should be managed. However, there is enough consensus regarding the need of parliamentary approval by both houses of the parliament, as the Upper House is controlled by the centrist and center-left majority of the current coalition government, which are believed to support openly the decision of the Queen, while in the Lower House the government may need the support of minor parties, but its unlikely that the parliament will vote against. Many members of the National People's Party, the current political party in the new parliament, have expressed their concern and opposition to such decision, although Olumide Imdoesep -the leader of the conservative party- have declared that they should act hastily in such an important decision, following a meeting with the Queen.

More strident voices were heard from clergymen and representatives of the Ndambian Panentheist Church, some of them even calling for the excommunication of Queen Kangela, an act which wouldn't have certainly a predecent in Ndambian history. However, the leadership of the Church, although expressing their disagreement with such decision, they declared their respect toward the Monarch. "We regret such decision", said Kayode Adu, the Speaker of the Holy Synod, "but we accept it and we will try to find the best solution for the Panentheist community and the Kingdom as a whole".

A speaker from the Royal House declared that the announcement is not expected to be in conflict with the personal religious affiliation of Queen Kangela, which is expected to not be altered, and that the it is not the will of the Queen to suggest any kind of "state confiscation of any properties or goods belonging to any religious institution", but a merely administrative act regarding the person and institutional role of the Monarch". In her speech, the Queen ended declared that she "acknowledge the important and lasting consequences of her decision".

Alunda Chronicle | Babajide Fedosine resigns as Ndambian Prime Minister

Babajide Fedosine, the founder and leader of the Constitutional Liberal Party, has resigned as Prime Minister after barely a year in power. Fedosine officially announced his resignation after a meeting with Queen Kangela in the Aafine Palace, with Olumide Imdoesep, the leader of the National People's Party set to succeed him.

Fedosine declared that being Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Ndambia was "a privilege" and wished his successor "good luck in behalf of the Ndambian people". He is expected to step down as leader of the Constitutional Liberal Party. Previously, he was General Secretary of the Constitutional Party, from 2009 to 2014. In his last official statement as Prime Minister, Fedosine mentioned some of the successful reforms in his short tenure, while declaring that he hoped that the new government will be able to continue with a path of "social progress and economic growth" while "bringing the country together toward a better future".

His announcement came as the National People's Party and the Freedom Party agreed to form a coalition government, with the support of the Alliance for Ndambia. Olumide Imdoesep is expected to be officially appointed Prime Minister by the Queen in the coming days. The new government will start their term not without controversy, as the three political parties voted in the parliament a legislative act which allowed criminal charges for several corruption-related crimes to be replaced by adminstrative charges instead, under harsher economic compensations.

Fedosine declared he had taken the decision to resign by his own, after concluding the current coalition government had not changes to continue with its reforms having losing their majority in the lower house. After losing a vote of no confidence, he said that it was better giving a chance to a more stable government.

Enitan Oberike, Speaker of the Constitutional Liberal Party, is expected to act as the party leader until a new leader is elected. Meanwhile, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Milola Gause will be in charge, as First Secretary of the Democratic Coalition, to organize the Second Federal Congress of the coalition, expected on late 2015.

Braz Herald | Prime Minister Olumide Imdoesep promises a new path for the country

In his inaugural speech, just a few hours after taking the oath of office in the Aafine Palace before the Queen, Prime Minister Olumide Imdoesep addressed the Ndambian Congress on the main policies and aims of the new government. Imdoesep, the 8th Prime Minister since the restoration of the constitutional government in 1979, and the third since the approval of the current Constitution, gave a predictable speech but which can be considered as conciliatory, far from the heat rhetoric he is known for.

"There are times when a nation may seem as frozen during two decades, and when deep changes shuffle the country in a few months". Imdoesep said. "We've experienced rather the second scenario in the last two years. My government hopes to offer the country stability and order, which our Kingdom needs. We will not be afraid of changes, but we do not propose changes for the sake of them. Our nation needs to move forward, but at our own path. There is no need to look with disdain and contempt our traditions, which our government will look to protect, but without compromising development and freedom...Development can not be blind. We have found ourselves rich in goods, with a stronger economy, but ragged in spirit. To a crisis of the spirit, we need an answer of the spirit. And we will find that on the Ndambian society, not outside. Without ignoring the kind of world we live on, we need to look within ourselves".

Imdoesep hinted that his government may be more pragmatist than expected in religious and moral issues, but he promised to reject all legislation which threaten to "divide our society without a reason", a reference, many believe, to former Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine's secular laws. Imdoesep, however, did not mentioned the Panentheist schism and the coming Ecumenical Council of the Panentheist Church, which could mean that the government may not try to be involved in this issue. However, he had previously declared that the government will repeal the same-sex union law, which was approved by the former parliament but which was not going to enter in effect until June 19th.

Imdoesep promised to pursue the goals of full employment, better housing and education, improvement of infrastructures and enhancing the quality of life, but he assured the government will do it in a balanced and sustainable way. He announced that many of the social programs of the former government will be cut, although no citizen would find himself deprived of welfare programs already delivered or granted. He declared that the government aimed to a fiscal-conservative agenda, and he promised tax cuts for the new year. He declared that his government expects to reduce foreign debt in the next four years, "but without compromising growth and development". He also promised an increase in defense and military spending, and a harsher immigration policy.

Prime Minister Imdoesep, who was critical of CIS membership in the past, said that his government will fulfill already signed agreement and treaties but it will take more seriously Ndambian national interests, while criticizing the foreign policy of the previous administration as "erratic". "It is time to think carefully about our position in the world, in order to answer effectively to the threats and challenges we are facing today". He hinted that the government's foreign policy will be focused in trade and security, and he declared that he will not tolerate foreign interference into Ndambian affairs by any international political organization.

Imdoesep announced that he do not plan to join the Mundus Development Bank and the Commonwealth Treaty Organization during his term, as former Primer Minister Babajide Fedosine had promised during the last electoral campaign. "There is no point to waste taxpayers money on moralizing but uncertain projects, or to renounce even more to our national sovereignty". Imdoesep also showed his opposition to the creation of a "International Court of Universal Rights", despite being the Kingdom of Ndambia one of the signatories nations of the Mundus Convention of Human Rights. "Even if well-intended", he declared, "such organization may end being used by more influential nations and alliances in order to impose their agenda to smaller nations, and it could have the habit of rubber stamping abuse of power on subjective issues...Our foreign policy is aimed toward the principles of cooperation, but we are not willing to compromise neither Ndambian interests nor our national sovereignty".

The new Prime Minister ended his speech offering dialogue to the opposition and declaring he hoped that a constructive spirit would prevail. The new government, which ministers will take the oath of office next week, will be a coalition government between the National People's Party and the center-right Freedom Party. The latter, which entered in the parliament for first time, is expected to have four ministers in the next parliament, although which ones remains unclear. The coalition government, being a minority government, is expected to rely in the Alliance for Ndambia, led by Resim Guney, former Minister of Economic Affairs between 2011 and 2014.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company | Murder of top Ndambian sportman shocks the nation

Ndambian football, and sport in general, was overhelmed by the biggest tragedy in a decade, following the murder of Ndambian player Sawo Isowe. Isowe was killed last week in Badho suburb, Alunda, after a verbal dispute with two fans at 2 a.m. The event was surrounded by confussion, and at first the police believed that Isowe's death could be caused by an attempt of robbery, or even a private setting of scores regarding organized crime. However, following the detention of one of the suspects, the case cleared quickly, and police suspected the second suspect, a well-known football fan with a long criminal record. Paramedics tried to revive Isowe, but it was too late and he passed away before arriving to the nearby hospital. A second person was wounded by gunfire, but fortunately, this person -who has not been identified, is recovering and his life is not in danger.

Born in 1982, Sawo "Ńlá" Isowe was probably one of the charismatic Ndambian players of the last decade. An international player whose football career was played entirely in the Ndambian Premier League, most of those years in the seven-times NPL champions Alunda United, the club where he grew up and where he had been playing during the last six seasons, probably the most successful of his career. He was noted for his physical strength and ability in the air -despite being only 1.79 metres tall- and his ability to retain possession of the ball. Although his goalscoring record was relatively low during his first years as professional, he showed being also capable of providing assists to his team-mates, with an average pass success rate of 69.9 percent, owing to his vision and creativity on the ball. He played 13 seasons in Alunda United (being the team captain since 2012-2013), with a record of 159 goals in 293. He also played in Matuidi Tigers and Curban United, and he became the only player to win three Royal Cups in a row, from 2008 to 2010. In total, he won four Ndambian Premier League titles and six Royal Cups. He was also the second top scored of the Ndambian national team, being other of his highlights of his career the second IFFA championship, when he scored 4 of the 7 goals of the national team, despite a disappointing result by the Ndambian team.

However, the current was being quite disappointed by both Isowe and his team. This year Alunda United, which dominated the previous four years, found themselves closer to the relegation position to the top teams, and it suffered a early elimination in the Royal Cup. But probably the most disappointing result was in the Mundus Champion League. Alunda United was the only Ndambian team which came to the last match of the group stage with options to qualify, but they faded away early, after the Ndambian team losing against Chupacabras FC from Nueva Ardia by 2-1. Although Isowe scored his only team's goal, he had missed several chances when the result was still 0-0. The players of Alunda United, which changed of coach twice this year, were facing a higher criticism from media and fans, facing the team a second season without a title. But the situation only worsened after they lost by 1-5 against Sobitsa City, a humble team which was trying to avoid relegation, being probably of the worse performances of Isowe's team (who however only played the last minutes of the match).

Isowe's teammates declared his murder as "tragic and devastating, impossible to believe", and the Royal Federation of Football suspended the national league for two weeks, as a sign of mourning. Many analyists this event could have sad consequences for Ndambian sport, but also the Kingdom's image abroad. The last Ndambian government had used to promote the view of Ndambian as one "of the most safest countries of Ardia", as the rate of homicides had fell about 88.7% in the last eight years. That is probably the main reason why the recently appointed new Minister of Internal Affairs declared Isowe's death as a "sad and shocking but sill isolated incident".

Alunda Chronicle | Protests against social cuts turn violent in Alunda

A month of nationwide protests against the decision of Alunda's government to cut social welfare.

On Tuesday, police fired tear gas in running battles with stone-throwing youths in Alunda, where a 48-hour general strike were being held against a parliamentary vote on tough anti-welfare measures. Thousands of protesters had gathered outside parliament in the capital city where public transport ground to a halt.

Minister of Finance Ayo Omonbega has said the government's plans area aimed to cut state debt and double the growth rate in the next 3 years, and therefore the government will not change its mind about a policy which is aimed to increased the welfare of Ndambian society.

On Westerday, thousands of peaceful demonstrators gathered again in the center protesting outside the Ndambian parliament, demanding the government to halt Omonbega's proposals, which include a freeze of social security funds and the abolition of welfare for unemployed. The protests were led by the far-left Workers Party, whose leader K. Bulupe described the government's reforms as a "declared war against the Ndambian people".

More than 3,000 police officers were deployed in the city centre to monitor what started off as a peaceful rally, but rapidly deteriorated into running skirmirshes on the fringes of the main demonstration. Hundreds of protesters -of unknown affiliation, their faces covered by scarves or gas-masks- started throwing stones, debris and bottles in the square at police who retaliated with tear gas and stun grenades. As many as 20 police officers and 100 demonstrators were injured in the scuffles, police said, while a number of demonstrators were treated for breathing difficulties.

"The government has declared war against poor people and to this we will answer back with war", a protester declared. The unions are angry that the government's programme will impose taxes on those earning the minimum wage, while it reduced taxes to those earning above $100,000. Polls suggest that between 50% and 60% of Ndambian voters oppose the government's plan.

But things turned really ugly yesterday, after the sixth day of protests in from the parliament in a row. After two hours of clashes between violent protesters and the police, gunshots were heard in a street nearby the parliament square. Seven people, two of them policemen, were confirmed dead, five of them from gunshot wounds. In following clashes, more than 200 people were arrested, and at least nine people permanently lost their vision. The real number of injured citizens is still unknown.

A Speaker of the Ndambian police denied that the police started the shooting. "It is established that four of those deaths from gunshot were caused by hunting cartridges, which the [Ndambian] police has never used". However, two unverified amateur videos of policemen shooting with their guns at unidentified targets inflamed the media and online websites. The opposition has demanded a parliamentary commission, with representation of all political parties in the parliament, to be formed. Several left-wing groups and civil organizations have called for a demonstration next weekend demanding the government to step down and calling for early elections. A Speaker of the Government has declared that such demand is "unacceptable" and has blamed far-left and violent anti-monarchist groups for the violence and deaths of the last days.

Meanwhile, two of the main unions have called for a one-week general strike in all the country if the Minister of Internal Affairs does not resign immediately, and the government to postpone more anti-welfare legislation until the issue is properly clarified ans answered by the legislative and judicial system.

Alunda Chronicle | Prime Minister demands "unity and strength" against those who want to destroy the nation

Many believed that Prime Minister Olumide Imdoesep found himself in a impossible situation after Queen Kangela, in a TV speech last Saturday, denounced violence and demanded "restraint to both the government and protesters", and asked for reasonable negotiations which would "take into account both the majority of the democratic parliament and the concern of an important minority of the citizens". But after two days of heated parliamentary sessions, Imdoesep's position seemed to be reinforced, despite the criticism of the opposition.

The government called for an urgent session of the parliament, where Minister of Internal Affairs Abimbola Ofansi denounced the opposition was putting the country at the verge of a violent revolution, and that the police had evidences that the riots in Alunda and other cities were being promoted by local members of the far-left Workers Alliance. A dialectical quarrel followed between Minister Ofansi and Milola Gause, First Secretary of the centrist Democratic Coalition. A long speech of Prime Minister Olumide Imdoesep followed, denouncing the Democratic Coalition was playing with fire, shielding their political ambition under violent rioters, trying to regain in the streets what they had lost in democratic elections. Imdoesep finally proposed a vote of confidence, declaring he would resign as Prime Minister and call for early elections not only if the vote of confidence was defeated, but if the laws proposed by Minister Ofansi weren't approved and a national unity government formed afterwards. Imdoesep finished his speech declaring that a clear line between "patriots and opportunists" must be draught.

Imdoesep's government survived the vote of confidence by 73-67, with abstention of the center-right Alliance for Ndambia and Kijiko minority deputies. A hour later, a law giving more powers to the federal government to fight violent protests had the support of three of the seven Alliance for Ndambia MPs. At the end of the day, Minister Ofansi announced that the brother and sons of two far-left MPs had been detained by the police the same day, as evidences of involvement of the opposition in the violent riots. Kayode Bulupe, leader of the Workers Alliance, denounced them as "unlawful detentions and political persecution".

Yesterday, the parliament approved a group of anti-protests law, with the support of the National People's Party-Freedom Party government and three independent MPs, defectors from Alliance for Ndambia. The opposition as denounced that such laws restrict freedom of speech and freedom and assembly, and named by some as "draconian decrees". Milola Gause criticized the laws for their undemocratic and anti-liberal nature and their ability to "significantly curb the right to protests, free speech and assembly". She promised to appeal the law to the Supreme Court and to pledge the Queen to not signing the laws. The latter was described by some National People's Party MPs as "calling for a constitutional coup d'etat against the legitimate government of the Kingdom of Ndambia.

The most controversial laws passed have provisions such as: criminalizing "extremist activity", defined in "broad and vague terms" according many legal experts, with up to five years in jail for a repeat offence; giving the parliament the power to granting amnesty from prosecution to the security forces; giving the federal government the power to dismiss directly the head of the state forces, without the approval of the state members; creating a penalty for blocking access to residential buildings of up to three years in jail; gathering and disseminating false information about the security forces would carry a penalty of up to 1 year of jail; up to 30 days in jail for unauthorized installation of tents, stages and sound equipment; provisions for legal government internet censorship in cases of "generalized violence in the street"; giving the government the power to ban demonstrations in the area surrounding the parliament and other official buildings; giving the parliament the power of retiring parliamentary immunity to individual MPs by a simple majority. One of the laws also recriminalized the burning of the national flags, which had however the support of 4 MPs of the opposition.

Opposition leader Milola Gause warned the passed laws will further inflame the protest movement, while the far-left Workers Alliance called for a big gathering in Alunda next Friday. Ayo Joeseb, a Workers Alliance MP, also denounced the laws a first step of "turning the Imdoesep's government into a dictatorship". Ariwa Governor Enitan Obemede declared the laws unconstitutional and they would not be enforced in the state.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Olumide Imdoesep announced a cabinet reshuffle which would include 4 independent ministers.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company | Northern Kajikya: Policemen killed in terrorist attack

11 Ndambian policemen were killed, 7 wounded, in simultaneous attack in Northern Kajikya. Two terrorists were killed, three arrested, in a failed terrorist attack to a police station in the State of Kajikya

The attack was claimed by a group named "Kijiko Liberation Army". In an online statement, the terrorist group proclaimed their aim was achieving the liberation of the Kijiko peoples by any means necessary, and their attacks were a "legitimate response" to the killing of 20 people by police forces in the recent protests and the seizure of power by the federal government of state competences, specially in law and order.

Terrorists used two tons of explosives to attack a police station in Nadhek, Northern Kajikya, while in the other terror attacks they used machine guns and military guns. Military experts claim that those weapons are unlikely registered in the Kingdom of Ndambia.

The Ndambian government have declared that the security forces are behind the perpetrators of the attacks, and the terrorists will pay for their crimes.

The United Kijiko Party, a nationalist party of the Kajikya regions, which is expected to win next state elections in the State of Kajikya, have condemned the attacks as most of the opposition did.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company | Opposition MPs deprived of parliamentary immunity

Ndambian Congress (lower house of the parliament) has stripped six MPs of their parliamentary immunity.

All of them are members of the far-left Workers Alliance. The radical coalition was under the criticism of the government and conservative media, after six local members of the coalition were detained in the State of Northern Kajikya, accused of criminal conspiracy and complicity regarding the recent terrorist attacks which resulted in the murder of 11 policemen. Although the far-left coalition has officially lamented the deadly attacks and condemned violence in general, the parliamentary resolution which deprived the six MPs of parliamentary immunity was motivated by the fact that nine MPs of the coalition -most of them members of the People's Party of Kajikya- rejected to sign a joint declaration which condemned the terrorist attacks as a plot to destroying Ndambia's constitutional order.

Those MPs claimed that it was absurd to agree with such declaration when the criminal inquiry had just started, and insufficient information was known about the attacks so far. The Minister of Justice declared that such attitude could be considered "unacceptable apology of criminal activity", and confirmed that the Ndambian General Prosecutor had officially communicated him that his office considered that there were grounds for a criminal investigation against them.

The Ndambian parliament also gave consent to the initiation of criminal proceedings against four of the six MPs, although rejected the same for the other two MPs which were deprived of immunity. Any criminal investigation, however, will be frozen in courts until the Supreme Court decides on the constitutionality of the so-called "draconian laws" passed by the parliament -one of them which authorizes the deprivation of parliamentary immunity.

Some believe, although no member of the government has confirmed such information, that this could be a first step toward the outlawing of the far-left coalition -or at least freezing the activities of some of its members, specially the People's Party of Kajikya-, if the courts conclude that any of their MPs is guilty of "extremist charges". The Workers Alliance has rejected to expel from their parliamentary group those MPs deprived of parliamentary immunity, and it will continue doing so even if a criminal case is officially opened against them.

"We can't trust state authorities anymore", Kayode Bulupe, leader of the far-left coalition, declared. "Under [Prime Minister Olumide] Imdoesep's rule, who is trying to build an authoritarian state, they will be under suspect. And this is simply unacceptable". The Workers Alliance has called for another demonstration against the ruling government, demanding Imdoesep to resign as Prime Minister. Imdoesep has even rejected to comment on such claim.

"If the opposition wants to depose a democratically elected government in the streets, we can also play that game", the Speaker of the National People's Party. "We can call for a demonstration in support of the government's policies and calling for the restoration of security and order, and we will gather five times more people. The opposition knows such is the truth".

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company | Queen Kangela dissolves the parliament and calls for early elections

In a unexpected decision, Sovereign Queen Kangela I has announced today the dissolution of the parliament and calling for early elections, only a year after the election of Prime Minister Olumide Imdoesep. In her speech, the Queen justified her decision in the government's inability and passivity to deal with violence and peaceful protests, suppression of parliamentary rights and eroding the separation of powers.

Although the 2014 Constitution gives the Monarch the power to appoint the Prime Minister and dissolving the lower house of the parliament (article 17.2), the language of the constitution is unclear about if it allows the Monarch to dissolve a government which has a clear support of a majority of the parliament, and a final interpretation hasn't still been given by the Supreme Court.

Some legal experts claim that the constitutional text gives such power to the monarch, even if it "is not supposed to be exercised often". Other experts assure that the article was included as "a recognition of the importance of the Crown, but giving it a concrete capacity in the functioning of both the government and the parliament". Many simply recognize that the wording is ambiguous, the result of trying to reconcile contradictory constitutional proposals when the draft was being discussed.

Although the Queen already dissolved the parliament a year ago, before the end of the first term of Prime Minister Babajide Fedosine, many consider that the case isn't comparable at all, as Fedosine had lost a vote of confidence, and dissolving the parliament was the constitutional procedure. Now, on the contrary, the government retained parliamentary support, even if as a minority government. The parliament, however, will not be officially dissolved until next Friday 10. Until them, the parliament could continue passing laws and, at least in theory, even proposing the appointment of a Prime Minister in functions, in case Imdoesep decides to resign.

Royal Ndambian Broadcasting Company | Queen Kangela appoints Kayode Ladomire as Prime Minister

In a message early this morning, Queen Kangela officially dismissed Olumide Imdoesep and appointed Kayode Ladomire as new Prime Minister after consultations, she claimed, with representatives of the opposition, following a constitutional crisis which has already lasted a week. The Supreme Court is expected to announce a final statement in the coming hours.

Kayode Ladomire, 52, is an experienced diplomat with no known political affiliation, and a former Ndambian Ambassador in the CIS. He is expected to be Prime Minister under a provisional government until the already announced early elections are held.

Ladomire is expected to meet this evening with members of the opposition and probably to lead negotiations with representatives of the Imdoesep's government, in case the latter were to happen.

Several Governors and representatives from the opposition have already expressed their support to the election of Ladomire as Prime Minister.
