In regards to this section I would prefer to see a definition by which the GC would say whether someone had "exhibited activity". Perhaps we could use their average posts per day for example. This is the only issue I have with this act and I fully support the aims of it. I just think it would be better to have some kind of no quibble measuring stick so everyone knows exactly where they stand. |

I'd like to suggest the following changes. Sorry about gutting the bill, but I'll explain my reasoning. To begin with (3) is really redundant, it basically just restates (2). I eliminated (4) because I think "activity" is one of those terms that is too hard to legally define, like obscenity. Any attempt by us to define "active" would only create problems. Furthermore, I think part of TIO's thing is that if you show up you can participate. I agree wholeheartedly with this one week restriction, but I think an activity quota is too much. Finally, I eliminated (5) because I cannot support a bill that would tie the Senate into writing another piece of legislation. I would be very happy to review a Voter's Bill of Rights when it is written, and probably will have no problem with it, but I don't want the Senate forced to write something if we don't know what it is.

May I further Elpidia's amendment to clarify:

Very well written as stands. However, for consistency's sake, I propose the following change:Change underlined. |

I woul perhapse encorage the institution of map-claim based voting rights, rather than the slightly nebulous 'Exhibited Activity' phrase. Maybe we could say they must have an accepted map claim, to avoid any unneccicery strain on Adamsneeka's map updates.

CGJ and Tytor's edit's included. I must reiterate my opposition to any stronger voting restrictions than the 1 week period. It is part of the spirit of the Independent Order that we are open and accessible to all.

Perhaps this should be merged into the (slowly) upcoming constitutional amendment?
