OOC: It's about time I created this thread This is Tara McLeod, reporting live! The crews of the so-called "Garbage Fleet" have been rescued at sea in a courageous rescue effort by the crew and captain of the HMS Gypsy Dancer. In spite of a large storm and hostile seas, rescue divers from the HMS Gypsy Dancer were able to pull the hapless sailors from their life boats and get them to the relative safety of the ship. The rescued sailors, in their condition, were unable to state the whereabouts of the fleet but they were adamant about two things. The fleet did not go down and is still afloat, and the more bizarre claim that "The Dutchman" came for them. Officials state that they will continue to press the crews for the state and whereabouts of the fleet once their condition has improved. All vessels are asked to keep a lookout for the "Garbage Fleet", last seen somewhere in the Krimeon Sea. Our two nations have supported each other through war and terrorism and we have, together, almost single handedly secured the Illumic Channel in the name of peace, stability and fair trade. East Morelands departure from the CIS will only affect our relationship in that we both nations will no longer benefit from the economic treaties provided by membership in the CIS. A situation that has now been rectified with the signing of a new treaty between our nations. To commemorate this great event, I have reciprocated the generous gift of Falkenrith Lodge by granting King David and his designated heirs Heatherstone, to be now and forever considered sovereign territory of East Moreland." "General Rhodes, why Heatherstone?" "Heatherstone has been in the Rhodes family, as opposed to the Royal Family of Seaforth for just over a century. The sword is a very central item to the lives and faith of Eat Morelanders and frankly, it is insulting to me and the Red Legions to even suggest that me, or anyone else would be given a Red Legion sword without actually being a Red Legionaire." Archon Officially Welcomes Tytor into the CTO "I am very pleased that the people of Tytor have voted to join us in the Commonwealth Treaty. Their fair mindedness and stoic adherence to justice, fairness and thier leaderships devout duty to its people will be a much welcomed and honoured addition to the CTO and I look forward to working with them in the Commonwealth." |

 RETURN OF THE KING! The Royal Heraldric Society has announced today that the application for recognition of Richard Butler is, after detailed examination, proven to be legitimate. Richard Butler, now going by Richard Cameron, has declared himself King Richard V of Seaforth and is calling for the restoration of the Kingdom of Seaforth. Richard Cameron is the illegitimate half brother of King Cristian II and the son of King William III. His claims have, so far, been met with mixed approval though his supporters are gaining ground. Many Seaforthians appear to wanting to blame Seaforth's turbulent times since the death of King Cristian and his young family, squarely on the shoulders of Archon Joshua and House Rhodes. King Richard V made a brief statement outside the Royal Heraldric Society earlier today. "People of Seaforth. Once again you shall have a King descended from the long and illustrious line of Ulric Cameron. I call for the restoration of the Kingdom of Seaforth and a return to our former glory. I hereby acknowledge the regency of House Rhodes from the time of my late brothers death until my coronation as the true King and sole monarch of Seaforth. I wish to thank General Joshua Rhodes and his late father for their unparalleled service to the Kingdom of Seaforth during its time of troubles. Moreover, I ackknowledge the Grand Council of Clans as my advisory body and confirm the created position of Archon of Seaforth as the right hand of the King and reinvest that honour on General Rhodes. I would hope that he would continue to serve the Kingdom of Seaforth and it's King in that capacity. Thank you. |

AMAZING GRACE! In a stunning upset during the Ostlake Games 2015, naval Leftenant Grace Shepard takes home the gold for team Seaforth. Lt. Shepard is a communications officer currently assigned to CFB Gibraltar and was a cross country runner during her time at tbe Citadel. " I just ran my race. As a serving officer Its very hard to stick to a dedicated training schedule and you have to make the best of it. Luckily, that also means you can train over all sorts of terrain. One week i will be on the treadmill, the next i will get in some beach runs. You just find new ways to push yourself. Archduchess Sophie is a great runner and competitor, I think I just had a little more left in the tank for the last kilo." |

WARRIOR WOMEN Seaforth's women service personnel continue to do well at the Ostlake Games. Army Sgt. Tanya Baker earned a Silver Medal in the Womens Triathlon. After his own competition, we caught up with General Rhodes at the Team Seaforth encampment.  "Good Evening General, thank you for your time." "No problem, sorry for the wait. You and your crew get fed?" "Yes Sir. That brings me to my first question. This looks more like a community cookout and campground than a military camp. What's going on?" "Thanks, the troops worked hard to pull that off. What you see is the brainchild of Command Master Sargeant Tamerlane Church and Master Chief Samuel Dap, two of our senior NCO's here at Ostlake. They came up with the idea that, since East Moreland extended us this invitation, we should return the favour. So, after competition for the day ends, Team Seaforth has been hosting an evening beer and BBQ cook out and will do so throughout the competition." "How is it being recieved?" "Good start so far. Free beer and food may have something to do with it, but we have seen a lot of East Moreland servicemen and women come by, a few of the international teams as well. Word is still getting out though, so I expect we will get busier as the week goes on. The early crowd tends to be a bit older and they often bring their families. I really enjoy being able to talk to my international colleagues in a relaxed, casual setting. One that does not involve an operation or a crisis." "Expect any big names to come by?" "You never know. THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING Richard Cameron, calling himself King Richard V of Seaforth, has gone on the offensive in his bid to become King and ruler of Seaforth. Over the last few weeks, Mr. Cameron has made a whirlwind tour of Seaforth gathering support. Much of his support is coming from expected quarters, namely minor and distant noble families who stand to inherit prestigious titles, titles that have fallen extinct since Joshua Rhodes abolished the monarchy. Surprisingly, he has also garnered support from the average Seaforthian as well. Sociologists from Eventide University have gone on record that this is some type of Stokholm Syndrome. The people remember the time before our suffering and turbulence. A time when King Cristian ruled and we were at peace. House Rhodes is very closely associated with two wars very close to each other and for good reason. They forget that Josiah and Joshua Rhodes saved our nation, they just remember the dead. They forget that King Cristian lost his country, they just remember they were at peace. Now here is Cristian's little brother to lead Seaforth back to peace and away from House Rhodes and war. It's subtle, and that's what Richard is playing on. "I don't know why I wont be recognized by Dartfordia or Rokkenjima or East Moreland or Achkaerin for that matter. I mean for peace's sake, the recognized BORLAND of all places. It's not like they can change the truth. I am the second son of King William, King Cristians brother. That makes me the legitimate heir to the throne. It also calls into question the validity of the rule of Archon Rhodes and his father. No doubt they served Seaforth well, but did they ever look for me? An heir to Cristian? No they did not. Hell, I didn't even know I was King until a little while ago. I don't think I'm a coward either. I spent the Eugenics War doing what a lot of Seaforthians did, helping where we could, passing on what information we could and generally trying very hard not to die. I don't understand the anger either. It's not like I attacked her personally; I just said I was King of Seaforth, which is true. And unlike Archon Rhodes I have no need to refer to members of other noble families in derogatory terms like "The Little Emperor" or whatever the hell he called him." "Seroiusly though, he's not much of a leader off of a battlefield. Evanthe does all the heavy lifting in that department. Even now he off in Ostlake playing soldier and drinking beer instead of responding to Zimalia. I mean damn, the Borlanders got in there right away and started helping. That's what a King of Seaforth needs to do." Mr. Cameron has since filed multiple lawsuits against Joshua Rhodes, the government of Seaforth and several other. The case involving his claim to Kingship has now gone before review before being presented to the Supreme Court. RICHARD V, PART TWO After getting hammered in the international news, Richard V finally has some goid news. The Supreme Court has made a ruling on one of the cases. The Supreme Court has ruled that as the some heir to the Cameron Estate, Richard is entitled to the whole ofbthe estate. Unfortunately, as most ofbthe Cameron posessions were actually owned by the state and not House Cameron itself, this amounts to a country estate in Arc-Royal and 33.7 Million Crowns. A heafty inheritance for sure, but far, far below he expected as the heir to a King. Nevertheless, Richard V has taken up residence there and has been meeting frequently with supporters, mist notably Constantine Brady, Premier of Arc-Royal and leader if the National Socialists, a very far right leaning political party. Premier Brady has officially endorsed Richard V as King of Seaforth. In related news, Archon Rhodes has been quoted as saying. "Coming after the Crown is one thing. I can understand that. But Im the only one that gets to call Alex "The Little Emperor". What an asshole." |

DRUM ON! Team Seaforth has climbed atop the standing with a Gold Medal going to the fantastic preformance if the Seaforth Pipe and Drum Corp. The Corp wowed the crowd with precision marching and an inspired musical selection. A second Gold Medal was won by Navy Corpman and Diver Nancy Berkshire, once again proving that Team Seaforth continues to be carried by its female members. General Rhodes was pleased with the preformances and cintinued to extoll the virtues if its female competitors. In other news, Richard Cameron was recognized as King of Seaforth by the Duchy or Marseilles. Duchess Alys Arsenault has invited the would be King to the Ducal Palace for meeting. Some souces are calling this "The Outlaw Crown Convention" mocking the Association of Crowns held in Rokkenjima. Neither Minarch has been invited to attend to Rokkenjima and both Royals are apparently outcasts among the internation noble community. Oddly, neither monarch had any comment in reagrds to King Kyle of Borland at this time. |

THE PRINCESS AND THE ARCHON In a much anticipated show down between Princess Freya and our own Archon, the crowd at Ostlake held its breath as Joshua Rhodes narrowly defeated the Princess of East Moreland. The Archon graciously accepted the case of whiskey and the 100,000 Crown donation earmarked to the Eugenics War Orphans Fund, a charity dedicated to providing for children whise primary care givers were lost in that conflict. As Princess Freya graciously presented the whiskey to Joshua, the crowd at Team Seaforth cheered. With one hand signaling the crowd to hush, Joshua waited for the crowd to quiet. The whiskey was poured into glasses to all present with the Archon personally handing Princess Freya her own glass. Standing up on a table Archin Rhodes raised his glass. "Dear friends, let us raise our glasses and toast Princess Freya, who pushed me to the limit and accepted defeat with such grace and the pride to call me out for a rematch. To Corpral Thomas Beckmann, who kicked both our arses and to East Moreland who bred such fine soldiers." The crowd cheered loud and drank thier toast, but the Archon wasn't finished. He hushed the crowd again and waitrd for the silence. "Today I won a bet between warriors. My father had a saying. 'Glory or the greater good'. Today the glory is mine, but the greater good goes to Princess Freya and her veterans charity. On behalf of myself, and a nation forever grateful to East Moreland for thier sacrifices on our behalf, I am pleased to present this donation if 250,000 Crowns to the Royal Veterans Biker Club." |

King Richard To Wed In a startling announcement from the Duchy of Marseilles, King Richard V of Seaforth and Duchess Alys Constance Arsenault are set to be married in the coming weeks. The announcement was made prior to the couple's meeting with Secretary General Tim Carpenter of the CTO and was rebroadcast from Marseilles. The pair have evidently hit it off almost immediately when King Richard traveled to the Duchy at Duchess Alys's invitation. There are some reports that it is a marriage of convenience as both monarchs are seeking recognition from the world at large and both are in need of securing an heir to thier respective thrones. In Seaforth, some circles are regarding this as a direct challenge to Archon Joshua Rhodes as he and Evanthe Anselmo are currently involved in a prolonged engagement and the Archon is currently without an heir. Though the monarchy of Seaforth has been abolished, Archon Rhodes is still considered my the majority of Seaforthians to be the rightful and sole ruler of the country and the lack of an heir to form the Rhodes Dynasty is concerning to some. King Richards supporters are applauding his desire to get married and produce an heir, showing his commitment to furthering House Cameron and the prosperity and stability of Seaforth. King Richards strongest support is coming from Premier Constantine Brady of Arc-Royal and his party, a fact that has the less extreme right very concerned at the direction Seaforth would take if King Richard ousted Archon Rhodes. Archon Rhodes Embraces Helus In her first act as Priestess for the Temples of Helus, Jennifer Skye preformed the official sword ceremony inducting Joshua Rhodes into the Cult of Helus. It was a small ceremony preformed at the Temple of Helus in Northfort, East Moreland. Among the witnessess were the Royal Family of East Moreland, with King David himself providing the sword. Many Seaforthians were gratified at the gesture, taking it as solid proof that there is friendship and cooperation between the two nations beyond the CIS. Chunnel Strikes Home! LS-Railways, the leading Dartfordian railway company made history today by completing the Illumic Channel tunnel,now known as "The Chunnel". This underwater rail tunnel links mainland Seaforth, from the Seaforth Peninsula, to the under water city of Rhodesia and it's surface counterpart, Lyonesse. |

MARRY FOR MONEY? Continuing his social reforms, Archon Joshua Rhodes passed into law today, legislation that will see monetary benefits issued to couples that marry and produce children. In an effort to correct the damage done by the Seaforth Catholic Church, laws are already in place that prevent people for marrying within their clans. To increase the genetic diversity citizens that marry someone outside their clan will receive a grant of 10,000 Crowns. If the union produces children, the couple will also receive a 10,000 Crown grant for the first child, 5,000 Crowns for the second and 2500 Crowns for each subsequent child. In acknowledgement of MCUR rights, all marriages and civil unions will receive the "Marriage Grant". Additionally, couples who are in a "Non-heterosexual relationship", sterile, infertile or who for some reason are unable or unwilling to conceive children will receive the "Child Grants" for the adoption of children. A significant number of orphans were created as just one more legacy of the Eugenics War and the Seaforth Catholic Church. Lastly, the current Child Tax Benefit is also set to receive a boost, increasing it to 267 Crowns per month, per child. News of this announcement was met with widespread acclaim, especially from the LGBT Community, who had previously pegged Archon Rhodes as "A traditional, conservative member of the military-industrial complex that would continuously relegate liberal and social advances to the back burner" despite the sexual orientation of his sister, Harper Rhodes. Leader of the Rainbow Alliance n Seaforth, Jermaine Tunstall, commented: "I don't know if I was previously wrong, or Archon Rhodes is reevaluating his position but this is a great day for the LGBT Community and I applaud and support the Archon and hope he continues a fair and benevolent rule with social reforms a top priority." The only notable dissent came from Premier Constantine Brady and his party. The far right Premier commented that "This is a travesty. This isn't a social reform, this is buying support to keep King Richard from taking his rightful place. McKenna Blasts Neuva Ardia, Achkaerin In a colourful rant in the General Assembly, McKenna refered to both Nueva Ardia and Achkaerin as failures as leaders on the world stage, blasting them both for the fact that two members of the CTO security council has had their relations devolve into a state where live fire has been exchanged and lives lost. Archon Rhodes was supportive of the Admirals statement: "I see nothing there I specifically disagree with." "How will this affect our relationship with Achkaerin?" "Well, a true friend is able to tell someone when they messed up or are acting like a fool. Achkaerin did both. If relations cool as a result, well, maybe they weren't such great friends to begin with." "And future relations with Nueva Ardia?" "Time will tell on that I suppose." "Due to the harsh language involved, will you be replacing Admiral McKenna on the Security Council or asking him to tone it down?" "From what I gather, that was toned down. The Blackwatch has historically been tasked with foreign intelligence as well as maintaining military direct action special forces units of various sizes and specialties. In recognition of the changing mission requirements, the military component of The Blackwatch is hereby separated from that organization. WIDESPREAD FLOODING IN CALEDONIA   Dwayne MacInnis, Local Idiot Unseasonably wet weather, a series of rainstorms in addition to rivers and lakes gorged by unusually high spring runoff, has combined to create the most widespread flooding seen in Caledonia Province in over 75 years. The waters broke over the high water marks yesterday morning and show no signs of letting up. So far an estimated 100,000 people have been evacuated from their homes with 5 confirmed dead and another 17 missing. Emergency and engineering crews have been working around the clock to manage the situation. Despite the obvious emergency, some citizens were down at the Bow River using boats, canoes and jets skis. Emergency crews had to be redirected to remove them from the river. Premier Naheed Nenshi was upset about the resources he considers "wasted", aiding people with no apparent sense when those resources could have been better used elsewhere.

Archon Reveals Baby News In a surprise release from Seaforth Castle, made in conjunction with a similar announcement made by Evanthe Anselmo, Archon Joshua Rhodes was quite obviously happy to reveal the pregnancy of his fiance, Evanthe Anselmo. Archon Rhodes would not conform how far along the Princess of Arovium is, but he did conform that, if a boy, the child will be named Josiah after his paternal grandfather. Though the monarchy has been dissolved in Seaforth, the Rhodes child still stands to a significant inheritance. In addition to various assets throughout the nation, he or she will become the sole heir to the Rhodes fortune, the crown jewel of which is Bethesda, the Rhodes family estate that encompasses the entirety of Hetral Island in the Illumic Channel. The news was met with widespread joy throughout Seaforth, particularly from members of Clan Wolf. Harper and Andrew Rhodes were jubilant in their congratulations and reportedly referring to themselves as "Auntie Harper" and "Uncle Andrew". The Grand Council also passed on its congratulations. Confederate Navy Press Release Grand Admiral Hannibal Kane issued a press release from Naval Command detailing the new deployment strategy of the Confederate Navy. "With construction of our ordered Sovereign and Exodus Class submersibles complete, I am pleased to announce a new deployment strategy for our Navy. The surface fleet's deployment will not be changing a whole lot. The new submersibles will however be operating in "Wolf Packs" consisting of one Exodus and two Sovereign class submarines. These "Wolf Packs" will be deployed globally as needed, providing Mundus-wide coverage and will enhance the security and defense of Seaforth as well as exponentially increase our first strike capabilities and generally enhance the pursuit of Seaforthian interests." Women's World Cup The Seaforth Women's National Football team is set to enter into the first ever Women's World Cup. The Golden Pandas are coming off of a very respectable 4th place finish in the last Olympics and riding the string of great performances by Seaforthian women athlete from the Winter Olympics, Summer Olympics and most recently the 2015 Ostlake Military Games. Sales of BBQ Sauce have apparently reached an all-time high. Archon Reforms Gallowglass In an announcement from Archon Joshua Rhodes, the iconic Seaforthian Gallowglass; the heavily armoured, warhammer weilding shocktroopers of old, are being reformed to serve as the Archon's Honour Guard. The Gallowglass, once the mainstay of Seaforthian hero's such as Erik Rhodes and Prince Gabriel Rhodes-Cameron had fallen out of favour with the advent of gunpowder and were eventually retired by the late 1800's. In an effort to bring back Seaforthian history and further distance modern Seaforth from the Hospitallers and the Seaforth Catholic Church, the Gallowglass will serve as an example of a Seaforth tradition untainted by recent events. The Gallowglass is recruited from all branches of the military and police services and will be responsible for the personal protection of the Archon and his family as well as the Grand Council and foreign embassies. While the Honour Guard will indeed be equipped with warhammers for ceremonial and show purposes, the "working" detachments of the Gallowglass will utilize all modern weapons, tactics and equipment pursuant to their mission.

Controversial Football Caller Heading to World Cup An independent sports radio football caller, calling himself "Footy Ed" has made a reputation for colourful and often crude commentary and play calling. Despite this, Footy Ed has a fairly large regional following and was somehow awarded one of the seats reserved for Seaforthian broadcasting. We have put together a small clip of Footy Ed's work. Is this someone that should represent Seaforthian Journalism? Does Footy Ed have a place at the Woemens World Cup? Why did World Cup Venue Officials award him a press slot? Royal Couple Return To Seaforth! In a plot right out of a Hollywood Blockbuster, Richard Cameron and Alys Arsenault, the King and Queen of Seaforth have been liberated from Marseille. The operation was pulled off by Seaforth's elite SOAR, under the command of Bigadier General Thorin Crow. The extraction, from a "hot landing zone", was pulled off by an unidentified special operations unit from South Hills. In addition to the "Royal Couple" Dr. Patrice Manaudou, The Ace of Clubs, was also extracted. Dr. Manaudou is the suspected brians behind the Marseille ICBM program. Halifax Scientist Develops High-tech Fabric That Helps Diagnose Diseases A Seaforthian scientist is behind a remarkable invention that can help to diagnose diseases like tuberculosis. Christa McGee is an analytical chemist at Halifax University. She has been working for years to create a fabric that can detect diseases, like tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV/AIDS. “I’m really interested in healthcare and diagnostics, particularly in diagnosis at the point of care. So if someone comes to you and they are not feeling well, you can tell them within half an hour what’s wrong with them,” says McGee. “Here, it’s not a big deal to do that, but in places like Zimalia, 40 per cent of people don’t return to the clinic for a diagnosis or treatment.” McGee and her students have created a chemical sensor that can be built into fabric. They first make Nanoparticles, which are particles between one and 100 nanometres in size, and then aggregate those particles, ending up with a silver Nanoparticle paste. They then place that paste onto the surface of a fabric chip and it is ready to use. Once that fabric chip interacts with biological fluid, like sweat, saliva, or urine, it is scanned for information. “The laser hits the sample, and some of the light is scattered and most of it is scattered in a way which is not useful, in terms of chemical analysis. But a really small proportion of the light is scattered in a way in which we can get a signature of the molecule,” says McGee. “Just like every person has their own DNA signature, every chemical has their own vibrational signature. From that scattered light, we can then identify what is that chemical on the surface of the fabric chip.” The technology picks up disease biomarkers and the scientists are able to get results in approximately 30 seconds, by using hand held units, the size of a TV remote control, to scan the samples. The size of the units makes them convenient for working in the field. One of the early motivations for this work was to try and better understand how tuberculosis is transmitted. “If you could deploy fabric chips in areas like taxi cabs, school classrooms, and monitor them regularly, you could get a good idea how tuberculosis, for example, is traveling through a population,” says McGee. “We saw that the fabric could be reused after washing it over and over again.” Eventually, the scientists hope to see the technology deployed in exercise headbands, or cloth inserts in infant diapers, to better monitor the state of health. McGee posits that the fabric could be a key component to identifying and monitoring outbreaks such as the disease currently working it's way through Alba Karinya, specifically Zimalia.  Seaforth Government Under Pressure The Archon and the Seaforth Government is under increasing pressure from allies and the CTOMM to turn over Richard Cameron and Alys Arsenault for interrogation. A Government spokesperson who wished to remain anonymous can conformed that several governments have made demands and have threatened "action" and "legal consequences" id Seaforth does not cave in to those demands. The so called Royal Couple have been interviewed by Seaforthian intelligence agents and Colonel Andrew Rhodes had confirmed that the intelligence report has been furnished to the CTOMM and that the couple will be made available to answer questions by the CTOMM. This apparently isn't good enough and the demands persist that the CTOMM take full control of these two. Archon Joshua Rhodes commented briefly: "Despite our cooperation, several organizations and governments think that our efforts are not good enough. We have forwarded all intelligence and hold them available for questioning. When Pytor Brook murdered over 6000 Seaforthian soldiers, those deaths weren't enough to compel Achkaerin to turn over Brook to us to face justice. Why does the CTOMM demand to physically control these two individuals? It's like they don't trust us or something. There are national security considerations involved here and despite that, we are committed to open lines of communications and working with the CTOMM and international community as equal partners." BREAKING NEWS! After a relatively quiet role in the CTOMM, The SOAR has been deployed en mass in all three provinces of the so called "Grand Duchy". Military officials refused to comment citing "Operational Security". This has resulted in a dip in the Archon's popularity. This goes hand in hand with recent trends. Allowing King Richard and Queen Alys to be interrogated by foreign powers has also hurt his popularity and the King, speaking out against his treatment by the Achkaerin and Seaforth governments as well as rallies organized by Premier Constantine Brady have sought to plunge his approval rating to an all-time low of 49%. This comes from King Richards latest attacks regarding the refugee crisis in Marseille. King Richard had this to say: "War, war war. I am not surprised! It's all the Archon knows. He sends brave Seaforthians to die on foreign soil time after time! We are tired! Keep Seaforthian servicemen and women at home where they belong! He spends billions of crowns on the military so his fellow officers and defense contractor cronies can reap the benefits. Meanwhile, rebuilding from his 'Eugenics War' lags. Because of his action many people of Marseille will die, both in combat and during this refugee crisis. Even now he still remains silent as to the refugees. We are a rich and powerful nation and it is our duty as Seaforthians to welcome refugees fleeing a combat zone, but the Archon does nothing! I call upon him now, to remove Seaforthian troops from the CTOMM and open the doors to refugees! I believe Seaforth could easily accept 800,000 refugees over the next five years, but any commitment from the Grand Council and the Archon would be a moral victory!" The crowd at the rally broke into a standing ovation, chanting alternately Richard! Richard! Richard! and No More War! No More War! Archon Rhodes has not responded and sources inside the government indicate that he will not do so in the immediate future. These same sources conform that the refugee situation is 'under review'? One begins to wonder what will happen as the Archon's popularity begins to wane and King Richard's rises what the future holds for Seaforth. The reign of Joshua Rhodes has be plauged by conflict and tragedy. Now that he has unarguably guided us out of the 'Troubles' will the people of Seaforth choose to move on? Will they continue to associate him with the bad times and with the future brightening ahead of us, wish a new leader, a different brand of man, to guide is as ably in peace as Archon Rhodes guided us in war? History is rife with examples of this. Nations have a habit of choosing one type of leader in a time of conflict, a time of stress and a very different leader to manage the peaceful and prosperous times. Is this the fate of Archon Rhodes? SOAR STOPS SORORITY! Demonstrations Ensue! Seaforth's SOAR, under the command of Brigadier Thorin Crow, has successfully stopped MDF and Sorority encircling maneuvers targeting their CTOMM allies. After two weeks of intensive fighting in the rear areas of Achkaerin, East Moreland, South Hills and Nueva Ardian AO's, the MDF is now on the defensive. While there are still significant troops concentrations forward of CTOMM positions, MDF cohesiveness is breaking down. This may partly be due to General Sebastien Cartier declaring his allegience to the newly announced "Aquitane". The combat seen by the SOAR units has increased unrest at home with massive demonstrations in major Seaforthian cities. These demonstations were attended and encouraged by King Richard Cameron and Premier Constantine Brady. King Richard V's Coronation! Preceeding his attendence at an anti-war rally in Arc-Royal, King Richard V was officially crowned by Bishop Mark Bates in a non-denominational christian service. Absent of course were the traditional accouterments of House Cameron, replaced by a simple gold circlet, orb and septre. The King continues to push for control of the government and remains a vocal critic of Archon Joshua Rhodes. With the coronation of King Richard and a recent statement by Archon Rhodes, approval ratings for Archon Rhodes have slipped to 37% while King Richard has overtaken him at 39%. Archon Rhodes Non-commital on Rokkenjiman Regency. Following the arrest of the Emperess and Emperor of Rokkenjima and the announcement of the Regency, Archon Rhodes made a short statement. "The situation in Rokkenjima remains fluid. Viceregent Euphemia remains in Seaforth and we have had no contact with the Regency. Following this statement, I will be meeting with the Viceregent. Following that meeting I will be contacting the Rokkenjiman government as to our standing regarding our exchanged military bases and the stance of the Tripartite Treaty." Many people feel that with the close relationship and family ties, Seaforth will be drug into yet another international conflict. This idea has been seized upon by King Richard Cameron and Premier Brady, both using it to great effect. TENSIONS MOUNT! In a not unexpected move, Archon Rhodes has backed his allies in the Tripartite Treaty and his fiance's family in opposing the "Rokkenjiman Regency". More, the Archon has publicly refused to vacate CFB Gibraltar following demands of the Regent. The result is mounting civil unrest across the nation and demands that the Archon order troops to return home from both CFB Gibraltar and Marseille. The show down between the Archon and King Richard also heats up as approval ratings continue to swing in the King's favour as the Archon's continue to set all-time low's, today coming in at 34% despite impassioned pleasfrom the Archon to stand firm behind allies and friends that provided so much aid to Seaforth during the Eugenics War. In the wake of the protests, the Archon made another announcement, creating the Somerset Autonomous Zone. Somerset, alternately known as Hetral, is the traditional family holdings of House Rhodes and was at one time the Duchy of Somerset. The new autonomous zone is home to not only the Rhodes Estate but the Seaforthian City of Bethesda and CFB Vauxhall. The eastern portion of the island houses the infamous Queen Adriana Military base as well as the cities of Urakawa, Elpidiana and Rokkenjima's Office of Illumic and Tripartite Affairs. Archon Rhodes has named his fiance, Evanthe Anselmo as the inaugural Governor of Somerset. The are some questions as to the timing of the announcement and several "Rhodes Watchers" and military experts have made not of the Archon's love of contingency plans. TM: General Cartier, some people have classified you as a terrorist, indeed you have been incuded in the infamous "Deck of 52". How do you respond to those charges? SC: I am a follower of Materna, nothing more. The Sorority no more speaks me than the SCC spoke for all Catholics. The Deck of 52 was not targeting "terrorists" specifically, but those individuals who Ms. Ayanami felt represented key roles in Marseille. U am somewhat perversely flattered at my inclusion. TM: Nya Aland speaks of attrocities and implies you are responsible. SC: I am a patriot. Neither I nor the troops under my command had any hand in attacks against civilians, specifically bombing of civilian targets and the firing of ICBMs at Nya Aland or Rokkenjima. Did we kill members of the CTOMM? Of course we did, but we prosecuted the war with honour and in a manner compliant with the law under the Uppsala Convention. TM: So as an honorable serving officer, how could you allow your nation to fall under the sway of a blatant terrorist government? SC: Treason is no small thing to contemplate. The old Duke was a good man. Not bright, but good. His daughter, while lacking several key traits was our Duchess and we served. Consequently, it was not clear at first who truly held the government. We were aware if the Sorority, but the view in Marseille was that it was a fringe group of extremists. With reasonable and legal orders from General Olivier and civilian oversight from the Duchess and others, it was possible for the situation to become obfuscated. TM: What were your orders? SC: My orders were to see to and prepare to defend Marseille from invasion, specifically from the CTOMM. TM: Some sources are citing you as the true force behind the MDF. SC: Professionally, thank you. TM: So you are? How so? What were you responsible for? SC: We coukd never hope to defeat the CTOMM. I intentionally placed Sorority units in Orleans, Normandy and the northern border of Marseille... away from Aquitane and in a position where I had hoped they would be rendered ineffective as a military unit. It was also my plan that they would be destroyed as they drew in CTOMM forces. It was our only chance really, to draw then in, encircle and destroy them. Sadly, I underestimated unit cohesiveness amongst CIS and former CIS nations. I should have anticipated the quick and seamless deployment of Dijeli and Seaforthian troops to the rear of the forward nations. They stopped our advance cold and kept CTOMM supply lines open. TM: That sounds like a regret. Any other regrets? SC: Sadly, yes. TM: Such as? SC: There is much I would give to have avoided this conflict. If I had acted sooner, if I had saw La Montange and Olivier for what they were. I had to burn the forest weeks before the monsoon...I needed the time you see. My biggest regret however is my son. He is missing. I fear i will never see him again. I fear he is dead. TM: My sources indicate he was captured alive and turned over to Rion Ayanami at CTOMM Intelligence. Confederate Navy Deploys On Humanitarian Missions Archon Joshua Rhodes issued orders today deploying Seaforthian navy vessels on humanitarian missions. Two task forces have been deployed. The first, from the Illumic Fleet is heading to the northern coast of Ardia while a second task force, deployed from CFB Gibraltar is heading into the Straight of Shaw and the City of Troyes in Orleans to aid refugees fleeing the conflict in Marseille. Archon Rhodes has been blasted in the media by King Richard for his inaction and again for these deployments as they come after a personal plea by King Davis III of East Moreland and the tragic death of Major Alexander Redfern. Archon Rhodes' popularity continues to fall in these attacks as he seems to be unable to make any right calls in this new era of peace in Seaforth. His popularity in the military remains strong as thousands of soldiers volunteer for transfer to the military forces of Somerset, an autonomous zone. Governor Evanthe Anselmo commented that this is a spontaneous act of solidarity with the Archon and the soldiers volunteering are professionals who view that serving with Somerset is the place most likely to advance and sharpen their skills. Detractors have not failed to point out that the vast majority of these volunteers hail from the most storied of Seaforthian units and serve to weaken the main Seaforthian army as a whole. |

SEAFORTH LANDS AT TROYES Early this morning, Seaforth began military and humanitarian operations in the Bay of Orleans and Troyes. Naval forces have set up a security screen (read blockade) at the north end of the Bay of Orleans as well as strict "no-fly zone" over the bay, Troyes and parts of western Orleans. This security screen is fully cooperating with the CTOMM and was dispatched to deal with the refugee crisis as a result of conflict in the region. Subsequent to these actions, the Seaforth Army entered the City of Troyes to secure the city, establish order and to deal with and control the mass exodus of people from Marseille and the region in general. Food, water, sanitation and medical aid is being provided to the people and legitimate refugees are being screened for transfer to nations accepting refugees in this difficult time. Criminals, terrorists and the like are being detained and questioned prior to being turned over to CTOMM Authorities. Orleans's military andpolice forces were decimated during the invasion and occupation of Troyes and the Seaforth Army, Seaforth Militray Police and Seaforth Police Service have stepped in to assume those duties while native organizations are being rebuilt. CIVIL UNREST IN SEAFORTH While Seaforth steps in to aid in the refugee crisis, civil unrest escalates at home. Opposing factions have begun clashing with each other and with police services in the country. Right wing factions are upset with the Archon that Seaforth will be accepting many thousands of refugees during the current crisis. While they support aid for the refugees, bringing them to Seaforth is apparently a step too far. The far right is also blasting the Archon for allowing Rokkenjima to "dump" all of their refugees on Somerset Island, known in Rokkenjima as Rishi Island, rather than accept the refugees into their native country. They are suggesting that all refugees accepted by Seaforth be transported to Gibraltar. These sentiments are usually quickly followed by the idea that all Seaforthian criminals serving more that 2 years be transported to Gibraltar to serve their time there. When the left subsequently points out that there is no prison there, they respond with "build one". Left wing factions counter with the accusations that the government is using fascist tactics in Troyes, while the government is not doing near enough in regards to the number of refugees they intend to allow into the country. Mass demonstrations continue and as yet, three small scale riots have been put down by police. Contributing to this is the discovery that the Seaforth government is substantially subsidizing RST Inc. and the Ishtar 2 program. The Ishtar 2, to be renamed upon completion to Athena 2, is Seaforth's and RST's contribution to the Achkaerinese Space Agencies mission to Ishtar. Rhodesian Space Technologies Wins Bid For Athena 2  Seaforth to make substantial contribution to Ishtar mission. Originally bid as the Ishtar 2 and renamed Athena 2 upon winning the bid, this RST Inc. project is the lander component to the Achkaerinese mission to Ishtar. Contructed in an "egg shape" and using advanced technologies pioneered at the City of Rhodesia RST and their proposed lander is ideally suited to the missions parameters. This marks one of the largest leaps forward in the small but dedicated Seaforth Space Program, indeed, with advances in these technologies as a result of the underwater city, Seaforth has begun to carve out a name for itself as an ancillary space contractor, providing valuable fuel, components and modules to more robust and better funded space programs such as the ASA and ISEA. |

Troyes Secured In a few short days, the Seaforth military has successfully secured Troyes and the Bay of Orleans with minimal resistance. With the city secure, humanitarian aid has begun to pour into the city with a sizable refugee camp on the outskirts, main efforts have been directed at food, water and sanitation. A secondary effort has seen military doctors reopen Troyes General Hospital as well as a field hospital at the refugee camp. King Richard's Cavaliers With the establishment of Somerset and what some view as Archon Joshua Rhodes's private army, King Richard was not to be outdone. Citing both Somerset and the King's prerogative to maintain a personal guard, a recruiting drive is underway. After documents were obtained by SNN, the King's representatives have now released them publicly and detail a military recruiting drive. Among the documents are plans for several regiments; The King's Cavaliers, 1st Royal Guard, 2nd Royal Guard, 3rd Royal Guard and the Cameron Highlanders. All told, these forces amount to 50,000 troops of infantry and light armour and vehicles that will ostensibly be under the direct command of the King and not subject to oversight by the High Command or the Grand Council. Finances for these forces appear to come from the King's own resources and from the Province of Arc-Royal, suggesting it has the support and backing of Premier Brady. While the establishment of these forces is alarming and possibly illegal, there is grave concern from some quarters that some of the funds were originally obtained from Duchess Alys Arsenault and previously unknown accounts of the Duchy of Marseille. Also concerning is the fact that as of this report, the majority of recruits seem to be coming from Arc-Royal and refugees from Marseille and northern Ardia. The Justice Department is investigating, but unable to employ any legal roadblocks at this time. |

Winning The Peace And The Rise Of Zachachevania An Editorial by Professor Bill Wallace Center For Strategic Studies Eventide University Sources inside the Ardian Diplomatic Convention (ADC) indicate that a peace treaty is unofficially agreed to and all that remains is to hammer out final details such as administering and observing nation and similar non critical points. Based on my observations and a perusal of a rough draft of the treaty, the big winner appears to be Zachachevania. How you ask? Simple perseverance and the skills of Jinin Tzi Fetu, President of Zachachevania. What started as an overture by the Zachachevania government, was followed quickly by irrational demands and an almost immediate impasse. Difficult negotiations ensued, with both side removing demands until virtually all reparations were removed. Additionally, while Zachachevanian troops are being pulled out of the NAR, a referendum is to be held in which the NAR may become independent, continue as a part of Nueva Ardia or possibly join Zachachevania! Now if you remember, Zachachevania invaded thier neighbour, Nueva Ardia some time back. Ostensibly to support revolutionaries in what is now refered to as the Neo Andean Republic (NAR). Now what's interesting is not so much what happened inside the ADC, but what happened outside of those rooms. So how is it that Zachachevania can invade it's neighbour, escalate conflicts, annoy half of Mundus and still be in a position to potentially increase it's holdings of land? Three words. Jinin Tzu Fetu. Now lets look at why Zachachevania is the big winner. 1) Under the Rosocor Regime, Zachachevania invaded Nueva Ardia and in an intense conflict succeeded in capturing a lot of territory, now called the Neo Ardian Republic. By issuing the overture for peace, President Fetu was able to turn a peace treaty into a political negotiation. Though it was inevitable that Zachachevania would be unable to hold onto the captured territory through the NAR and the rebels, President Fetu created the opportunity where Zachachevania would be able to influence the internal politics of the nation it had invaded, by insisting on a referendum where joining Zachachevania was an option. 2) Discord among allies. With Serenity Azurewind choosing a successful negotiation for peace over every other concern, such as justice, honour, global security, as well as the interests of the wronged party (Nueva Ardia), she has effectively alienated her ally of Rokkenjima and sown discord among several other nations. A policy of appeasement to hostile nations such as Zachachevania, will encourage nations with leaders of a similar nature to the Rosocor Regime to take similar actions. 3) Damage to Rokkenjiman reputation. With Fetu's delay tactics forcing the ultimatum from the Ardian Entente, President Fetu almost immediately dropped all resistance and immediately agreed to the current draft. This will appear to show Zachachevania as a peaceful nations while Rokkenjima will be foreced to wear the mantle of warmonger and threatener for a time. All in all a brilliant move. 4) Favorable geography: Somehow Predident Fetu was also able to establish that the DMZ would be on the NAR/NA border rather than the Zachachevania/NAR border, signifying to the world that the NAR may be considered part of Zachachevania. This is just plain wrong. As Zachachevania was the aggressor, the positioning of a DMZ on the OTHER side of Zachachevania's gains is tantamount to suicide. While NA forces must face and potentially cross over a DMZ to arrive in the NAR, Zachachevania does not face that same obstacle. 5) Fruit of the poison tree. It has also been suggested that several nations act as admin and observers for this so called treat. These are among some of the most prominent nations on Mundus and they will be irrevocably be tainted with this fiasco. East Moreland, UNP, Sverige and the Shadowblade Cliffs have all been mentioned as either "Administators" or observers to the referendum. What is the end result here? Zachachevania invades Nueva Ardia and they face almost no consequences. At the worst, they invade, take territory and are able to extricate themselves from the issue via peaceful negotiation and referendum with little or no reparations. If the referendum goes their way, they gain control of the NAR with no further conflict and under the law backed by Achkaerin and the nations that agree to back the referendum process (Servige, EM, Shadowbane Cliffs, UNP). Fetu's tactics of delay and discord, forcing the Ardian Entente into issuing an ultimatum worked extremely well in his favour and I can't help but wonder if his tactics, so very different from the likes of Rosocor and Stalin didn't catch Achkaerin and Rokkenjima by surprise. During the ADC, Serenity was overwhelmed by the superior skill and experience of President Fetu, causing her to misplay several key junctures and allowing in several conditions decidedly favourable to Zachachevania. Though she has displayed competence in several areas of international diplomacy, in this case she was schooled like, well, like a 17 year old girl. Tragically, it seems that once again, Nueva Ardia is handed the dirty end of the stick. What should have been a hard, unified stance among allies and nations that believe in justice, failed in the body of the ADC. Quite simply, the NAR should have been returned to Nueva Ardia, by force if needed, and the Zachchevania troops returned home. Then, and only then, could a purely internal Nuevian Ardian referendum answered the question of the rebels in the Neo Ardian Republic. A foreign nation should never be allowed to invade another with no consequences, certainly not be allowed into a position to influence what should be a purely internal matter. One wonders if previous strained relations between Achkaerin and Nueva Ardia caused Princess Serenity to sell out the troubled nation or whether the skill and experience of Fetu was simply too much for the Achkaerinese teenager to handle. What is known for sure is that Zachachevania, under the leadership of President Fetu has catapulted itself from the relative onscurity of the Rosocor Regime into a regional power that Mundus as a whole should definitely pay attention to. Navy Confirms Special Weapons The Confederate Navy confirmed today that Sovereign and Exodus Class submarines have been deployed with two advanced weapons not identified on previous released concerning the submarines. The first weapon system has now been identified as Raytheons CHAMPION missile. This cruise missile does not contain a traditional warhead, but a Counter-electronics High Power Microwave Advanced Missile Project. This missile, using powerful directed EMP is able to engage specific targets causing fatal and permanent damage to phones, engines, computers, generators and other electronics. The missile is to knock out ships, tanks, buildings and aircraft. A single missile, in field testing, has been able to target, engage and neutralize, up to 15 targets. It is theorized that the missile will be able to overcome all known defense and targeting systems including Valiant Shield and ICON. The missiles are slotted to be deployed to fixed defences, mobile cruise missile launchers and aircraft. The other reveal is the use of advanced drones by the named classes. These drones are in effect, Advanced underwater UAV' s. Deployed ahead of the submarines and controlled from special suites onboard, these drones carry several advanced sensor and sonar systems. In addition to these packages, the drones are also armed with 4 Orca torpedoes and 12 Kestrel missiles. These drones increase the tactical and strategic power of the submarines exponentially and will allow Seaforthians submarines to engage and destroy targets without revealing their position. Exodus Class submarines are able to deploy no operate four drones simultaneously, while the Sovereign Class can deploy two. |

Seaforth Deploys To Lakhzovian Border. With tensions mounting, ethnic Utman peoples are swarming to the Lakhzovian/Seaforth border. The military has deployed to reinforce border security personnel and crossings and have taken over patrolling of the border for illegal aliens. Recognizing the humanitarian concern, camps have been set up inside the border to temporarily house Utman people who pass an initial security screen and are seeking refugee status in Seaforth. There has been no word from Lakhzov regarding allegations of ethnic cleansing and genocide made by the Utman refugees, but officials in Seaforth are investigating and it is likely, should the allegations prove true, that the government will present this evidence to the CTO Security Council and possible ask for a mission finding. This will make the third military/humanitarian mission Seaforth is involved in. Currently forces are deployed to northen Ardia to support humanitarian missions resulting from the Mavrosian invasion. Seaforth forces are also blockading the Bay of Orleans and have secured the City of Troyes in Orleans. This is the first "domestic" crisis since the Eugenics war. While the people of Seaforth are generally supportive of these missions, sentiment is starting to leans toward "how much is enough?" Archon Rhodes's popolarity has dramatically fallen with the deployment of Seaforthian troops, but has stabilized at 22%. Ratings show no further sign of slipping, even with the announcement of operations on the Lakhzovian/Seaforth border. |

King Richard Dead! Late last night, a heavy truck, reported stolen, ran a red light and smashed into a car in which King Richard V of Seaforth was a passenger. Both King Richard and his driver are confirmed dead at the scene. The driver of the truck appeared unhurt and fled the scene on foot. Eventide Police are searching for the suspect. With the death of King Richard, the main line House Cameron is now officially extinct. The Cameron line now only continues from the descendants of Prince Gabriel Rhodes-Cameron the son of Duke Erik Rhodes and Princess Tara Cameron, embodied by Joshua, Harper and Raiden Rhodes. Speculation has already begun as to the fate and status of Alys, Queen of Seaforth. There has been no comment from the Grand Council or the Archon. |

Rhodes Resigns! McKenna New Archon! In a shocking announcement, Joshua Rhodes has resigned as Archon of Seaforth. In his place, Grand Admiral James McKenna has been elected by the Grand Council as the new Archon. Though a military man, the Archon has a well deserved reputation as stabilizing factor in any operations zone he has been deployed to. Initial reports indicate that he enjoys widespread support among the population of Seaforth. With the news of his resignation, Joshua Rhodes reverts to his permanent rank of General. General Rhodes will take over as the military commander of Somerset, while his wife continues as Governor. Supporters of Archon Rhodes appear to be satisfied with this arrangement in that it actually frees General Rhodes and his forces to act as an independent agent in Mundus. In a statement by Archon McKenna, he comfirmed that General Rhodes will continue to advise the government as requested. In a second announcement from Somerset, The Somerset Military Academy will be offering "Advanced Warfighting and Strategy", "Combined Arms Tactics" and "Advanced Combined Arms Tactics" all taught by General Rhodes and open to international students with a combat arms MOS. |

Royal Submarine? In a time when various heads of state all seem to be commissioning and building Royal Yacht's, Imperial Yacht's, Dictatorial Yacht's and what have you, the fact that maritime superpower Seaforth didn't have one was, to say the least, odd. Well the reason for that is now apparent. Early this morning, after 5 years of research, development and construction, Seaspan Inc. unveiled the "Archon's Yacht". At the cutting edge of Seaforthian naval technology and inspired by the luxury of the Rokkenjiman Imperial Yachts this submersible offers not only the luxury of the Imperial Court, but an added measure of safety, security and secrecy to it's passengers.
