 POWER TRANSITION: HARPS TAKING CHARGE  Within the last few days a lot of political power transitions have taken place. Since the collapse of the Qa'Hirin sect, some Palmieri family members are threatening to remove their support for the Larington family, the direct descendants of our God, Alexandrum. In an attempt to escape the dangerous situation of the home region, the Empress and her Regent have taken leave to the East Moreland Festival of sail. This power vacuum has left the Noble families to elect a temporary ruler, Jefferson Washington Harp. Within the 24 hours Harp has been in charge, it appears he has taken a note from our Empresses book and begun to hold open discussions with the international community. The hotly debated 'Universal Rights' bill is currently on the top of his list as he announced his position on the bill after receiving a newly drafted version of the bill. We were able to catch up with him over a simple coffee break before he took his leave: "Mr. Harp-" "Please, just Jefferson." Harp interrupted. "My apologies. Jefferson, concerning the recent debates over Article 12 of the document, what would your primary concerns be as representative of our nation?" "Well I have publicly announced that these Articles seem more of a breach on a nations decision making. While it may seem like a right to nations that have suffered through oppression regarding marriage, it is not viewed under the same light within our nation. What they call marriage exists after 'Death' and once they reincarnate as eagles. To create a superficial bill in our national legislature that were to make pre-death marriage, in their sense of the word, a right would dismantle our religious and cultural structure entirely. We, sadly, do not recognize marriage as a right, and cannot guarantee this right to the religious minority. If they want to view it as a right, we will respect their beliefs, there is just no law or contract that grants these people benefits in the eyes of our judiciary branch. The main problem I have, as a member of the Harp family, is signing this treaty would destroy our entire electoral process in selecting our leaders. If we sign Article 12, we will be forced to let our Empress marry whomever she wants, breaking the noble families right to elect our leaders. If we cannot choose both a competent Empress and Emperor, we are doomed to lead our nation into destruction." "If marriage, as they define it, doesn't exist, why does the Imperial Royal family practice it?" "Well you see, the marriage they have is nothing more than the bonding of their two leadership roles. Before the rise of Avianism, marriage like practices used to be common place among royal families to secure alliances. After Alexandrum's death, Albert I and a member from the Eliasson family were destined to be married for securing our alliances. Since then the leader of our nation had a noble family member elected to serve as their spouse as a symbol of our alliance. If they could marry anyone they wanted, it would break the alliance and split our nation up once more. We vote someone of their academic skill from the noble families to both create a 'Co-Ruler' to see to events as the Empress is away, as well as to solidify our alliance between the noble houses." "Thank you, that's all we have time for." RELIGIOUS INSTABILITY: FALSE PROPHET?  Since the fall of the Qa'Hirin sect because of the discovery that their Prophet was not the man they once claimed, the religious majority of our nation has begun to question the divinity of Alexandrum and Eagles. Although nothing major has happened as of yet, the Palmieri family has withdrawn several of their votes from the Larington family, while arson takes place on churches throughout the nation. Riot police have been stationed outside all current churches to ensure the safety of worship as well as to discourage any further attempts at damaging the buildings. Some of the population is now unsure whether religion should have any impact on the Imperial family and unrest over the rule of Empress Marianne has begun to grow. With her temporary absence, the situation has cooled and it seems the population has reached a stalemate. Whether this is because of her leave or due to internal reasons is unknown, however Imperial Guard regiments are seen entering the palace for extra security upon her return. |

BOMBING: DOZENS DEAD, MANY MORE INJURED  This morning, at 6:30 A.M., a bomb went off at the 'Children's Hospital for Life Changing Injuries' causing the deaths of 28 children, and the injury of over 200. No one has taken credit for the bombing at this moment. Their intentions are still currently unknown, however Police have locked down the neighborhood to try and detain as many suspects as possible before a perpetrator is found. For those who are unsure, the Children's Hospital is within 5 miles of Pavol City district. It is renowned for its time and patients at helping rehabilitate kids who had lost limbs or suffered other injuries. The bombing at the moment seems to be aggression at mere children, however until we know the true cause, it is only speculation. We go live to our reporter, Jane Kensley: "Hello Kimberly! I am live at the scene of total devastation. We were told to not bring our cameras within the hospital as they set up Medical Tents outside. However we can only assume it is for the safety of the children identities. If you can see behind me, we have flames pouring out of nearby buildings close to the hospital, seemingly set alight by the explosion. Local firefighters are on the scene as well as some military personnel. According to hospital staff, no person was seen entering or leaving the building, leading experts to believe that the bomb was placed at a much earlier date and set on a timer or detonated from one of the nearby buildings. Of course we won't know what actually happened until further inves-" "GET DOWN!" An explosion is heard following the Cameraman turning to capture a second bombing before being disconnected by the broadcasting station.  Ladies and Gentleman, we are just getting reports of a second bombing. The military experts on the field have taken charge and are ordering all civilians to evacuate the area while they search for more bombs. Until then we are informed that all Pavol residents within the city are to remain indoors while a city wide search is warranted. We will be on air to deliver any updates as they arrive. May the eagles guide you... UPDATE: No known organization within the nation has yet stepped up for the bombing, and experts are claiming that the bombs were of military grade, leaving only more questions than answers. ASCENDING THE CROWN: PREPARATIONS  Despite the recent troubles our nation has faced in the form of bombings and religious instability, the coronation event for Empress Marianne is well under preparation. The entire Imperial Palace will be open to citizens from all over the Empire, and any foreign delegates, should they wish to attend the day of the event. On July 17, 2014, the White Feathered Alliance will be hosting the coronation of Empress Marianne the First, protector of the eagles, and holder of the sacred feather. To prepare for such celebrations, the Imperial Palace is currently off limits to nearly everyone as it undergoes renovations to accommodate the crowds that will soon flood the establishment. A parade featuring her majesty is scheduled to start an hour after her coronation as it pays homage to the many historical sights scattered throughout the city. Entire city streets are already being sectioned off as they determine the best possible routes, as well as to secure the area for her majesty's safety. There are a few more events that have yet to be leaked to us here at Alliance News, however with each passing day it seems almost impossible to keep some of these things a secret for any longer. As more of these events are exposed to us here, we will update you with everything we know. Long live Empress Marianne! |

War and Terrorism: World in Conflict From Terrorism to a proposed war, it seems recent events have caused the final straw to fall and break the camels back. With the coup and establishment of The Soviet State of Themata, it appears the global community has had enough with the WARSAW pact. With most evidence pointing towards Stalin and the U.S.R for the coup in Themata, international cooperation and actions against the U.S.R and its WARSAW pact has all but increased within the past few hours. With all these factors now coming into play, could the world be on the verge of war? The answer right now, is sadly yes. Multiple nations have begun to actively mobilize their forces with their guns pointed directly at the WARSAW pact. Officials from within the White Feathered Alliance, including that of Jefferson Harp, have gone on records declaring support for those of the CSTO who are preparing for war. Calling the actions "Justified" and "In protection of the Thematan people". While there is no official word on whether the White Feathered Alliance will intervene or not, we can only assume that recent events from within our nation will limit our cooperation abroad.  In other news, the organization that orchestrated the attack on the Children's Hospital has now been identified. The culprits, calling themselves "The Eagle's Talon" have released a public statement to our news channel:
Although we have no cause to believe these individuals are great in numbers, military action will surely be required to put them to an end. With Marianne still out of the nation, and no hope of her regent making any direct order, the response falls on Harp, the man who bares the very name of the family that was threatened. It appears, however, that this does not surprise the Harp family as they have been under constant harassment from alleged members of the group. They have pledged to protect all of their establishments to their greatest extents, and are currently seeking Noble family approval to activate a military response to the new threat. With this new threat, can the White Feathered Alliance be assured that it will not meet its fate at the hands of a few terrorists? Can we be sure that Empress Marianne and her regent are fit for their job if they have yet to even handle the situations afoot? These are answers left to the viewers themselves, however one thing is certain: A lot more blood will be spilled in the coming days if action is not taken soon. |

WAR AND ROSES? With the world getting closer and closer to war, it seems the White Feathered Alliance has no choice but to enter into the fray. While Jefferson Harp claims the action is for the protection of their own coastal waters, it seems only inevitable that we will get in a fight abroad if tensions get any higher. Word has already come in about the CV-Empress Marianne leaving port to join with the First Fleet consisting of 2 Albertson Class Destroyers, 10 Zambrano Class cruisers, and finally 5 Eliasson Class cruisers. With the world coming closer to the brink of war, only one question remains for the people of the White Feathered Alliance: "How much are we willing to sacrifice for those in other nations?"  The Empress Marianne leaving dock with an escort In other news, it appears the Coronation event will kick off without any delays from the global conflict. People from all over the White Feathered Alliance have visited Pavol on this fair day, to not only witness the coronation of the nations leader but to partake in the history of our fair nation. While this has raised some security concerns based on the formation of the new terrorist group, the Harp family has assured all civilians that they, and some other families, have taken the time and effort to prepare for any terrorist attack. This has temporarily assuaged the threat of terrorist attacks during the event. UPDATE: Contrary to our original thoughts, it appears the coronation might in fact, be delayed due to a vote taken by the Noble families this evening. With Marianne back in the nation, regent Fredrick has assumed power once more and has decided that the Coronation should be with held due to global and national instability. While he promises the event to occur within the following week, he cannot allow such an event to take be shadowed by war. This news was met poorly by Jefferson Harp, who once again pointed out his distaste to both regent Fredrick and the lack of any protest from Marianne herself. CORONATION EVENT TO CONTINUE AS PLANNED!  Within the past few weeks, Jefferson Harp has exploded in outrage at Regent Fredrick's decision to hold off the Coronation in light of global conflict. He has made a plentiful of statements regarding his "Lack of care for the Eaglerian people" and the "Abuse of power and marginalizing culture for personal pursuits" even going as far to claim that he has done nothing beneficial for the nation since he took charge. While Fredrick is currently regent for Empress Marianne, Jefferson has no few words for her, as his opinion is one of controversy among the noble families.
While his words may be harsh, they do indeed come with some honesty. She has indeed failed to act upon many of these decisions and questions of her ability to rule are becoming ever more present in the population. Harp, on the other hand, has become a political figurehead for our nation, in both actions and deeds. His staunch stance on the Human rights conference along with his temporary rule over our nation has already skyrocketed him above an 80% approval rate, compared to that of Marianne with a mere 50%. With this in mind, we may be looking at a very empty palace this coronation, as well as increased security now that the Empress is no longer favored by the people she has sworn to protect and rule over. |
