 KING KYLE GIVES TWO MEN HONOURS   Today King Kyle II of Borland gave chivalric honours to two of his most loyal subjects. First the man who managed to secure High Rock for the Kingdom of Borland, Michael Parish, was named as a Lord. The 35 year old managed to build a survival pod that enabled him to live on High Rock for 3 months before claiming the territory for the Kingdom of Borland. The man's act of great bravery and loyalty to the King was rewarded and hence forth will hold the title Lord Michael Parish of High Rock. It is thought that the King will meet the new Lord in person very soon. Meanwhile Henry Cooper the Governor of SeaTower Autonomous Territory of the Kingdom of Borland received the same honour and shall hence forth be known as Lord Henry Cooper of SeaTower. Lord Cooper recognised King Kyle as the sovereign of SeaTower thus extending the Kingdoms territory and creating what many Borlanders are referring to as the Great Borland Empire. King Kyle spoke about the bravery of Lord Cooper, "In the face of Dartfordia this man has held firm to his beliefs and his rights to govern himself in a way he knows is right, while he may not be a Borlander by blood is he certainly a Borlander by spirit and as such I am proud to be this mans King. Lord Cooper has begun a bright new future for our Kingdom and I dream of the day other of my subjects spread around Mundus." INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION  Within hours of King Kyle announcing the rebirth of the Kingdom of Borland on High Rock the international community began to recognise the new nation. The first to do so was the Republic of Tristantia, with the simple statement of "Tristantia recognizes this rock as the territory of Borland." Tristan Barbett became the first leader on Mundus to recognise the Kingdom of Borland as a legitimate country. Lying just across the Mhorish Sea the Republic is relatively close to the Kingdom of Borland and King Kyle hopes to strengthen relations between the two nations as soon as possible. " I am delighted that the Republic of Tristantia have done the right thing, I look forward to meeting Tristan Barbett in person and extending my thanks for his support. |

FURTHER INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION   Two more nations yesterday recognised the Kingdom of Borland. First the Kingdom of Saint Monterrey said that despite our Kingdoms acquisition of territory being "unique" they recognised Borland as a sovereign nation. This was followed shortly after by the Emperor of Achkaerin recognising the Kingdom of Borland. This now takes the total number of nations recognising the Kingdom of Borland to three following Tristantia's message yesterday. However several other nations have refused to recognise us, first the Empress of Rokkenjima sent a very disrespectful message written with the simple words "No." on it, this was followed by a statement from the Lord High Steward of Rokkenjima in which he refused to recognise the nation or the Kingdoms offer to become a signatory of the Universal Decleration of Human Rights. King Kyle spoke to us saying, "Frankly I'm bemused at this decision, several months ago the nations of the world took time to hammer out this document in the hope that the lives of the World would be improved, we are keen to do our bit and being denied that opportunity. While other , more established, nations of Mundus have either refused to sign it or simply ignored it, we have immediately fronted up to our responsibility to our people. I have signed the document and sent copies with our signature to all nations who have signed so far. As far as I am aware Rokkenjima and Dartfordia do not control the worlds stance on human rights." |

SAINT MONTERREY BACKSTABBERS Less than 24 hours after recognising the Kingdom of Borland as a state the King of St. Monterrey withdrew his recognition. Sources inside St. Monterrey believe that this was after the usurper David of East Moreland put pressure of them to do so. The withdrawl of recognition essentially sent a message that the King of St. Monterrey believed that we Borlanders have no right to exist. As a response to this King Kyle II authorised a limited military operation during which two members of the St.Monterrey armed forces were taken captive. Now that the military operation is over the King has begun negotiations for the soldiers to be returned to their families, a Royal spokesman told us, "This operation was sanctioned to show that the Kingdom of Borland will not ideally sit by while a government tells us we have no right to exist, that Borland citizens are not citizens at all, thats how genocide's start. We therefore needed to show the world we have teeth and will defend ourselves, we believe this action is proportionate to the perceived threat made by the King of St. Monterrey. The two men are being well looked after and we are investigating means to return them to their families, this is a process however that would be much quicker should the King of St. Monterrey actually perceive us as a nation, otherwise carrying out the repatriation process will be much more difficult." BORLAND BECOMES THE TENTH SIGNATURE TO HUMAN RIGHTS TREATY  Yesterday His Majesty Kyle II signed the Universal Human Rights Treaty on behalf of the Kingdom of Borland, making us the tenth nation to sign this document. The signing reaffirms the nations commitment to protect its citizens and ensure their safety around the world. However Dartfordia and Rokkenjima both attempted to stop this signature from happening a move the King found "ironic". The King further went on to say, "For years these Kingdoms have spoke of wanting the world to improve its Human Rights record, especially the USR, yet here we are, the youngest nation in Mundus and they tell us we can't sign. How does their opposition promote human rights? While longer established nations whom Dartfordia and Rokkenjima have close links to, such as Tytor, have refused to sign it they are still given the time of day. It's as though there is a double standard being applied. On the matter of human rights the King also released the following statement. "For too long nations of the world have not taken their responsibilities to their citizens seriously enough. We must challenge the world to do better. I for one will put aside the differences of opinion with Rokkenjima and call upon the United Soviet Russia to recognise its wrong doing against the Earagon religion. While us Borlanders follow the Cult of Helus that does not prevent us from respecting and living alongside those of other faiths, no person should die because of what divine entity they believe in.Until the USR recognise this act the Kingdom of Borland will impose sanctions upon them" Edited by DaveIronside, 27th August 2014 - 07:55 PM.

BORLAND PASSPORT HOLDERS ARRESTED  Yesterday several Kingdom of Borland Passport holders found themselves refused entry into nations they were travelling to. The first group of four citizens had made arrangements to visit SeaTower, the Kingdoms' Province close to Dartfordia. As the only way to get to SeaTower is by transiting through Dartfordia the four people, who are members of the Borland diaspora, had arranged to fly into the Kingdom of Dartfordia before boarding a boat to SeaTower. However their passport was not accepted by officials who claimed that the four citizens did not hold passports that were valid for travel. Officials then attempted to have the four travellers flown to East Moreland, an action they refused to comply with as they felt they would be wrongly arrested upon arrival. The four individuals claim that Dartfordia have an obligation under the Human Rights Treaty to allow them to live anywhere within the state of which they are a citizen. One of the four men contacted us from Dartfordian immigration and told us "The Human Rights Treaty says we all have the right to travel and live anywhere within our state, thats what we are trying to do, we are trying to travel to SeaTower, part of our state as is our Human Right, the Dartfordians know this is the only way to get there so are effectively taking away the rights of Borlanders to enter a territory of our homeland." the man who wished not to be named went on to say, "They are trying to deport us to East Moreland, we are refusing as we believe that we will be persecuted in that nation, we have no connection to that country so we feel deportation would be against our human rights. For a nation that signed the treaty we are being treated appallingly." A similar incident took place as two Borlanders tried to transit across East Moreland to reach High Rock. The man and woman tried to cross the border between Arenoth and East Moreland but where detained and locked up. One of the pairs lawyers contacted us and told us "The pair hold valid passports of a sovereign nation, they have committed no crime and are being held against the terms of the Human Rights Deceleration that East Moreland is a member of. The pair simply wanted to return to their home nation and have been stopped from doing so." It is unknown if other Borland citizens have experienced problems using the newly issued passports. King Kyle Barren called for the release of his citizens and for nations to protect the rights of those legally travelling. "My citizens have committed no crime, they have not done anything other than attempt to reach their home nation. To be stopped and locked up, and then threatened with deportation to a country that has several times in the past vowed to wipe out Borlanders is a gross breach of the very rights these nations agreed to defend. I call upon all those nations who signed the human rights treaty to ensure East Moreland and Dartfordia stand up to their obligations." |

BORLAND EMPIRE CONTINUES TO GROW  Brave Borlanders spread around Mundus continue to expand our glorious Empire. Yesterday John Wooton staked our nations claim to beautiful Qhelm Island. The land , very close to Thomradian waters is the former location of a whaling station. Noticing it lying in international waters and unclaimed for many years the now Lord Wooton secured the island along with a group of colonists. The inhabitants of the island have been granted Borland passports entitling them to the protection and safety of the Empire. King Kyle spoke to us, "I am ever impressed with the exploring spirit of my subjects, while other nations squabble amongst themselves for land and resources we are putting those parts of Mundus that other neglect to use, yet even now we are being denied. Had Lord Wooton not claimed this island for our Empire it would have been forgotten, become overgrown and decayed beyond repair. Now it will become a glorious homeland for Borlanders proud to be productive members of Mundus." PASSPORT HOLDERS STILL STRANDED Those travelling Borlanders who were refused entry to Dartfordia remain in travel limbo for a further day. While the Kingdom of Dartfordia deny them their human right to return to Borland's province of SeaTower they are forced to live in squalor of the airport terminal. "It is a disgrace that a supposed civilised Kingdom like Dartfordia is denying people their very basic human rights, something that a member of their royal family tried to get the world to support." said King Kyle. The four travellers contacted us by phone last night telling us, "Its a nightmare they refuse to allow us to travel back to an area of Borland, and instead threaten us with deportation to East Moreland, where we've heard they are arresting anyone travelling on a Borland passport. We're essentially being held hostage." The King called for Dartfordia to allow onward travel to the four asking them to "conform to the very treaty you drew up." Meanwhile there is no update on the travellers arrested in East Moreland. Once again the King called for the world to take action, "These people are being held without committing a crime, they are being held without access to a diplomatic representative and we can not find out what they are being charged with. I ask that the other signature nations of the Human Rights Treaty begin applying pressure to East Moreland to return our citizens." HIGH PRIESTESS APPOINTED  Today the Priestly Council of Borland appointed a High Priestess of Helus. The Council were concerned that High Priestess Joanna was not a fitting representative of the Gods and therefore should be replaced. Having petitioned the Priestly Council of Helus for Joanna to be replaced they took action to ensure the faithful had a fitting role model. After several hours of meeting they voted for Miss Amanda Barnes to be names High Priestess. In her first interview in the post she said "We, the faithful of Helus are concerned that a member of the Royal family was named High Priestess so easily. It is not right that King David used his influence to get his sister this role. Only someone truly devoted to Helus should lead the faithful, and I am honoured that my colleagues have appointed me to this position. I now call on the faithful of Helus to stop following her path and turn back to the true path of Helus." The King was also pleased with the appointment. "High Priestess Amanda has been an active member of the Borland Dispora for most her life, she has tended to soldiers on the battlefield, she has wept with mothers whose children have been murdered and she has done all of this keeping our faith alive. She is an ideal role model for all people who are member of The Cult of Helus. I have spoken with her and she has spoke of her desire to spread the faith across all the Empire and I will do all I can. To this end we will be looking at the construction of Temples in our provinces and I am funding the construction of a Temple of Helus on SeaTower." The new High Priestess confirmed that she will travel there to bless the new Temple in the coming days. |

ACHKAERIN DOUBLE STANDARDS The Emperor of Achkaerin has shown himself to apply Double Standards to the Human Rights Treaty. Yesterday he announced that he believed the Kingdom of Borland had violated the treaty by carrying out a military operation that saw two members of St. Monterrey Armed Forces taken as Prisoners of War. This military action was taken after St. Monterrey announced that the Kingdom of Borland ceases to exist, something that clearly is a threat to a peaceful nation. The King spoke with us saying, "I had the high hopes that the Emperor saw us for what we really are, a micro nation trying to make our way in the world. When a nation like St. Monterrey with its sophisticated military states you no longer exist it is clearly a threat to your small nations existence, unlike Achkaerin we have no sophisticated air force, no large navy, no tank battalions, so we carried out a pre-emptive strike like many nations whose citizens are being threatened would take. We raided St. Monterrey to show our forces can strike them. We have killed no one. We are keen to return the soldiers but as we have no recognition we can not transit these soldiers home, should St. Monterrey once again recognise us as a nation it would make it much simpler to return their soldiers once negotiations have taken place." Meanwhile the King was keen to point out the double standards used by the Emperor. "His closest ally, East Moreland fires missiles into a nation, killing Gods know how many civilians and he says nothing. Rokkenjima call for recognition of a genocide by the USR, we respond , Achkaerin doesn't, where is its threats and concern there. Finally Rokkenjima destroy a nuclear powerplant giving civilians electricty and putting them in harms way and again Achkaerin says nothing, it appears that if you are a small nation with no military to defend yourself the treaty must be followed to the letter, while large nations that they can't push around can do as they wish." |

HIGH PRIESTESS CALLS FOR CLEMENCY  High Priestess Amanda Barnes today called upon the King of East Moreland to use his power to commute the death sentence of James Clusky. She also spoke of her shock at the lack of action by the international community. In a prepared statement she said. "I call upon David Ironside to do the right thing. Helus teaches that all life is sacred and this man has no right to take it away from another person. David knows just as I do, and anyone who follows the Cult of Helus, that the Gods respect someone who in the face of great pressure does the right thing, I know he faces a great wave of pressure from Morelanders but now is the time to earn the Gods respect." she went on to talk of the international reaction. "When the USR or a Warsaw nation carries out executions the world are quick to jump up and yell about it, they place sanctions on the nation and demand they change their ways. Yet here we have a so called King about to execute someone and all these global leaders are silent, no one even says a word. In four days time James Clusky will be dead, his family will be grieving and the leaders of the world know they could have done something to prevent it." The High Priestess went on to speak of the wider issues facing the Borland Diaspora. "Every day our nations government get phone calls from citizens detained going about their lives but not hiding their true nationality any more. For years many have had to hide behind the indignity of using East Moreland ID cards or passports, now they can freely call themselves a Borlander, yet without changing their lives they suddenly become the targets of the Police. Take this gentleman in Tytor, he places a Borland flag on his own private property and is arrested, I suppose though as Tytor has refused to sign the Human Rights Treaty like we have we can not expect them to show any respect for a citizens private property. Meanwhile Naval recovery teams attempting to stop an environmental disaster with the Seaforth Garbage Fleet get detained by Dartfordia because they fly their nations flag. Even when our citizens try and do good they are punished. We are being persecuted on a daily basis." BORLAND DISTANCE UNIVERSITY TO OPEN  The King today announced the opening of Borland's first institute of higher education. The Borland Distance University will be based on High Rock but its lectures and seminars will take place online. "We believe this is the first initiative of its kind in the World. We are very proud that Borlanders spread around the world, and interested non-Borland students, will be able to gain a first class education." The University will be accepting applications from students in the coming weeks and will in its first year have degree courses avaliable in History, Economics, Borland Studies and Literature. The lead professor of the University will be Dr. Francis Howell, he said "This is an incredible oppurtunity for our youngsters to gain an education that is respectful of their culture and their identity. I'm excited to start my lectures and although it will seem strange not having a lecture theatre of students in front of me the fact we can reach out to students around the world is incredible." Dr.Howell was also keen to point out the financial advantages of the University, "Many nations charge their students for an education at University, students quiet often have to move away from parents and pay rent ect, however they will be able to do this course from the comfort of their own bedrooms, it represents a significant amount of money saved. For example Northfort University charges around EM£45 a week for accomodation, over the course of a three year degree thats, over EM£7,000 saved before we even consider fees. At just EM£300 a year our courses will be a bargain and I see them being very popular. I'm just proud our King values education so highly as to subsidise our students to this extent." |

 SUPPLIES OF NATURAL GAS FOUND NEAR HIGH ROCK Within the Southern Exclusive Economic Zone of High Rock supplies of natural gas may have been found. After a basic survey by an international gas extraction company it is believed a previously untapped source has been discovered, should this prove true then the proceeds could stretch into billions in potential revenue for the Empire. A spokesman for the Borland government said "While the world is commited to greener sources of energy there is still the demand for natural gas, not every nation is able to use solar power or has the space for wind turbines and as such there will be for the next few decades a reliance in some areas of the world for natural gas." The Borland government is expected to start a process of selling licences allowing companies to extract the gas. "This places us in a very strong economic position. The majority of nations who have spoken of our statehood have affirmed that High Rock is clearly our territory, with that comes the EEZ and now the gas contained there." There has been no announcement from the King as to what he plans to do with the revenues although one source close to the King insists, "The King will be keen to see that all his subjects take benefits from this great news, this is not something to simply line the pockets of the royal family but rather to give them the means to help their people. NATIONS SPEAK ABOUT CLUSKY Several other nations have weighed into the debate over the execution of Borland citizen James Clusky. Today Thomradia and Tytor released statements supporting the false Kings stance on the execution. When speaking of the man from Borland the Thomradia dispatch said "There should be no place for such a man in the world." indicating their governments desire to eradicate Borlanders. Meanwhile the government of Tytor said they "applaud East Moreland's decision" to execute the Borlander. This approach from the government of Tytor is to be expected however as they have refused to sign the Universal Human Rights Treaty. The government of Rokkenjima where once again quick to jump to Clusky's defence stating that East Moreland where simply following an "endless cycle of hate" in their murderous treatment of this man. They further responded to the calls for the execution by Tytor and Thomradia by pointing out the hypocrisy of the two nations, while urging East Moreland to resist international pressure from Rokkenjima each nation attempted to apply their own pressure by using language such as "Do not allow Rokkenjima to strong-arm you" and "Tytor hopes that King David will not bend to pressure from other nations" In response to this King Kyle has stated, "In the past we went about things the wrong way, yet whenever we used the impending threat of violence and murder we were labelled terrorists by people such as Tytor, now we try peace and they marginalise us while a false King announces a plan of violent murder on another human being, but this is now what we expect from nations like the USR, Thomradia and Tytor." |

 NATIONS RALLY ROUND BORLAND CAUSE Today an unprovoked attack took place on Lord Wootton and the men holding Qhilian Island. After making unsupported claims of soverignity over the island Thomradia unleashed a merciless barrage of heavy fire on the practically unarmed inhabitants. The attack came without warning after King Kyle had sought to reach a diplomatic solution to the territorial dispute. It is believed that Lord Wootton and his comrades currently are in the custody of Thomradia. In the aftermath of the attack the international community was quick to come to the defence of the Borland Empire. In a statement released shortly after the attack the government of Dartfordia said they were "throughly displeased" with the unprovoked attack. Mr. Turpin the Dartfordian Secretary of State for Foreign and Cross-Straits Affairs went on to say that Dartfordia was "thoroughly committed to a peaceful resolution to the Borlander crisis" The statement finished by saying that Thomradia should have dealt with the islanders "in a more humane and reputable way pursuant to the Mundus Convention on Universal Rights." a document Thomradia refuses to sign while several other nations, including Borland have. CLUSKY MOMENTS FROM DEATH The execution of James Clusky is due to take place tomorrow morning. With the so called leader of East Moreland remaining silent in the face of calls from the international community to spare the mans life. Over the past few days Rokkenjima and several other nations have called for David to use his powers to stop the execution. However it would appear that the leader of East Moreland has no mercy in his heart and plans to kill a defenceless man. In an appeal direct to the leader of East Moreland King Kyle Barren called upon the King to take an oppurtunity to show the world he is not a true tyrant. "I have never seen eye to eye on any issue with David Ironside, I suspect I never may. We do though share one thing in common, we were both raised with the tradition of the Code of Canley ingrained in our hearts. I therefore call on David to use what power the constitution of East Moreland grants him to spare James Clusky's life. The man will be defenceless and no threat to you, surely no honourable man could take a life in those circumstances. I know you have personally executed many Borlanders in the Alps but you know have an opportunity to show the world you are not a complete monster. You can still earn back some of your honour. I urge you to reconsider the death penalty. It would go some minuscule way of absolving your soul with Helus for the murder of my child that everyone knows you must have ordered. " |

HIGH PRIESTESS MURDERED Yesterday High Priestess Amanda Barnes was murdered by East Moreland. While travelling to visit the faithful in the Alps her car was attacked by a car bomb which detonated under the car. The brutal Moreland terrorists executed the High Priestess possibly for fears of her taking support away from their own puppet Priestess Joanna. Amanda Barnes was 40 years old and as a Priestess had no family of her own. She is survived by a sister and brother both of whom have spoken of their saddness. "Amanda was just doing what she felt she was destined to do, tending to the faithful. To be murdered doing Helus' work is scandalous." King Kyle spoke at his sadness of the murder, "This just goes to show the lengths East Moreland will go to. They know their false Priestess preaches a mongrel form of the Cult and as such have silenced the true word of Helus. High Priestess Amanda will be missed. It is the most fitting memorial to her that we continute our quest for freedom from opression and spread the true word of the Gods." It is expected that a new High Priestess will be named in around a weeks time. So far Amanda's body has not been returned for a proper burial. In the conclusion of his statement the King continued. "Yet again the international community will show double standards when it comes to terrorism. They will call our quest to free ourselves from oppression terrorism yet we only strike targets that are a threat to us, meanwhile East Moreland murder babies and now religious leaders with impunity." |

 PUPPET PRIESTESS HIDES SECRET East Moreland's so called High Priestess hides a secret past which if revealed would make her unfit to hold the position she claims to have. After investigative journalists from the IBN investigated Joanna's past it became clear that the secret she hides would cause severe damage to the Cult of Helus, it is for these reasons that IBN will not print the information at this time as it impacts the life of not just Joanna but other people who are innocent of wrong doing. Despite not being the true High Priestess we call upon Joanna to stand down immediately to save face of the Cult of Helus. Should she fail to do so this newspaper will have no other cause of action than to print the information we have uncovered for the greater good of the faithful. King Kyle commented upon the accusation having been shown our evidence, "Normally I would shout this news from the roof tops, it is clear evidence that East Moreland has corrupted the Cult for its own political agenda, however for the good of the Cult and the innocents who are caught up in this scandal I will not break my oath to the IBN journalists." Specuation is bound to be rife until Joanna makes a statement about the matter. Following the death of Amanda Barnes in a recent murder by East Moreland, Joanna stands as the only claimant to the High Priesthood, she is however rejected as a false Priestess by many Cult of Helus followers in Borland, this is because of her closeness to the government and many feel this shows how East Moreland seek to control all who follow the Cult of Helus around Mundus, a strategy described by King Kyle as "backdoor Imperialism" ANNOUNCEMENT OF TRUE HIGH PRIESTESS EXPECTED SOON It is expected that within 24 hours the College of the Cult will have selected a new High Priestess.  KING STILL LYING TO MORELANDERS Despite making a public announcement last night the so called King of East Moreland has not yet revealed the full extent of the cover up. First he claims his sister was raped. Our sources inform us that she was infact in a relationship with a man almost twice her age, and that her father King Sven allowed it to happen. The fact that a man would seek to explain away the existence of a child with a bare faced, and frankly horrific lie is astonishing. He then claims that for the young girls privacy is the reason for not revealing her to the public. We however know that is not the case the young 17 year old "Princess" hides a hidden past. The girl, real name Sophie, has grown up in a series of children's homes thanks to her troubled past. She has had numerous run in's with the Police, including being arrested for vandalism. This young criminal now is the newest member of the Ironside family. So far the King has hidden this away from the public, not out of a desire to protect a young girl but out of a desire to protect his families so called reputation. COPYCAT MORELANDERS In an announcement yesterday East Moreland revealed that they have acquired through a lease an area of land in Transvaal. This marks a major overseas acquisition for East Moreland, creating for the King an Empire. The motivation for this clearly being the jealousy of the Borland Empire. King Kyle said "It is clear that we have tried to acquire territory around Mundus through peaceful means, High Rock and SeaTower were both acquired without a single shot being fired because of the people living there. Now East Moreland forces itself upon the local people without their permission." BORLAND ANNOUNCE HONEYBADGER FEAST DAY King Kyle Barren today announced the first of Borland's official feast days. On the 28th September Borlanders around the Empire will celebrate the Feast of the HoneyBadger. A day to pray for the removal of the horrific beasts from the rightful homeland of all Borlanders. The King plans to hold a giant feast at his home which will see a HoneyBadger roasted and served to his guests. It is also expected that parties will take place in the Borland diaspora around Mundus. |

 KING WELCOMES CAPTIVE PAIR The two former St. Monterrey soldiers captured in the pre-emptive military operation that followed the nations veiled threat to Borland have decieded to claim asylum in Borland. In a recent TV piece the pair were presented with Borland passports and urged their families to come and join them in their adoptive home. One of the men Lt. Hayes spoke of his decision coming after feeling "abandoned" by his homeland. Comparing King Kyle's attempts to save the life of James Clusky to the lack of effort made by King Darnforth in securing their release. He went on to speak of his former Kings knowledge of loyalty by saying he was a "King who seems unable to even comprehend the word". Meanwhile Sgt. Abramov said "I can't believe I ever fought for such a man." when speaking of Darnforth. He then urged his family to come to Borland, a plea that King Kyle supported offering them citizenship so they could be with their loved one. The move comes after King Kyle had offered to meet with St. Monterrey representatives to discuss their repatriation but the two soldiers began to get frustrated at their native home dragging its heels. |

St. MONTERREY COMMIT MAJOR HUMAN RIGHTS BREACHES The Kingdom of St. Monterrey have recently shown themselves to be completley opposed to granting even the most basic human rights. Following the granting of citizenship to Lt.Hayes and Sgt.Abramov the government of St. Monterrey choose to punish their families. In a statement published in St. Monterrey's Weazel News King Darnforth stated he had taken away the families "passports and have put them under 24/7 surveillance to ensure that they will not leave Saint Monterrey and go to Borland in order to be reunited with their fathers and husbands." Effectively King Darnforth is telling a decent family that they are destined to forever be separated. Upon hearing this King Kyle said, "how can a man be so evil, by taking this action he is punishing children for what he believes is a crime their fathers have committed, no sane country in the world would do that." The family now face the prospect of having their every move monitored and clearly this will have serious consequences for the families standard of living. In addition the King of St. Monterrey also has denied the men the chance of ever receiving a fair trial. He first in his statement said he wanted the pair to return "so they can stand trial in our courts of law" however he then went on to already pronounce their guilt by saying they would "get the appropriate punishment for their betrayal that they deserve". King Kyle responded to this, "How can this man honestly expect the pair to even consider returning to St. Monterrey, their King has already announced to the Kingdom they are guilty and that all that is left is to sentence them, how can the pair be given a fair trial. A fair trial has to be one of the most basic human rights and Darnforth has shown a complete lack of regard for their human rights." King Kyle went on to say "As a nation that has signed the Human Rights Treaty, Borland is of course astounded that a nation that considers itself to be civilised can so blatantly ignore the most simple of human rights. First they deny a family the right to be together, next they restrict the movements of a group of people that they even admit have committed no crime, they restrict their right to freedom of movement by placing them under surveillance and then finally give two men no chance of a fair trial. I am astounded that the world has not spoken out against such horrific treatment. I suspect the East Moreland propaganda machine will spring into action and instead of the St. Monterrey government being criticised or punished we will no doubt be accused of some horrendous act by giving two men a fresh start in life." St. MONTERREY RECOGNISE THE GOVERNMENT OF BORLAND In the latest statement by King Darnforth his kingdom has once again flip flopped on their stance to the Borland government. First they recognised the Kingdom of Borland before just hours later withdrawing their support. Now they have again recognised our government. "I am delighted they have seen sense" said King Kyle. In his statement following the news of Lt.Hayes and Sgt.Abramov accepting Borland citizenship the King of St. Monterrey said "We demand that both Mr. Abramov and Mr. Haynes will be extradicted" before saying that his government"expect to get a response from them (Borland Government) as soon as possible." King Kyle released a statement on the matter, "For us to extradite the two men we would first need to be convinced that their is a case to answer. As far as I know their is no law on any person being a dual national, therefore his claims of treason are a little hard for me to take. Furthermore before any extradiction could take place I would need to be convinced that the pair would receive a fair trial, however the Kings own words have pronounced the pair guilty, of as I said something I do not see can be considered a crime, being a dual national." We will give the St. Monterrey a formal response in the coming days however unless they can satisfy these issues I can't see how we can extradite them."  PREPARATIONS FOR HONEYBADGER FEAST UNDERWAY As September 28th draws closer preparations in Borland have begun for the first ever Honey-badger feast day. The feast marks the first of an intended series of cultural events that are to be created to mark the uniqueness of the Borland culture. "While CETO seem to reject our culture we are keen to embrace it" said a Cultural Ministry spokeswoman. The King created Honey-badger day to mark the occasion when our homeland's natural environment was unbalanced by the introduction of this foreign species. The King has already started gathering together Honey-badgers to be roasted during a great feast that he intends to hold to mark the day. The day will also be celebrated in East Moreland however their festival praises the disruption these creatures have imposed upon their non natural habitat. "It is actually a good example of the Borland / East Moreland issue." the King added, "We are he true people of the land and yet another species has arrived and enjoys the protection not given to others. Borlanders are the rightful citizens of Northfort yet we are kicked out of our homeland while this aggressive, uncaring and non native group is allowed to thrive, the international community even support them to our demise. This is why we must feast on these creatures to show the East Morelanders that they can not break our resolve to be a free people." KING KEEN TO RENEW WEDDING VOWS The King has spoken publically of his desire to renew his wedding vows to Queen Beatrice on High Rock. The couple have been married for eight years and have had one child, a son, who was murdered by East Moreland in cold blood when aged just 8 months old. The King spoke of his wish to pubically reaffirm his love and devotion to his Queen. "She has always stood by my side and shared my hardships and struggle. I can't imagine being with anyone else, my only regret is that we had to marry in a tiny little Alpine Temple rather than publicly in a grand ceremony." The King continued to explain his ambition. "Now I can recommit myself to Beatrice, if she'll still have me, on Borland soil like a King should do." he jested. Queen Beatrice spoke of her hopes for the visit. "High Rock is a place I long to visit, it marked the beginning of the Borland Empire, I can't wait to once again tell everyone how much I love Kyle there." The Queen however spoke about the problems they faced. "As the international community oppress Borlanders it makes it difficult to travel there, we are being denied our human rights to say we love each other in our homeland." KING SPEAKS OUT AGAINST LRA After a recent attempt on the life of Empress Beatrice of Rokkenjima the King was keen to point out his opinions. "I know in the past we have been accused of doing similar things, however I would urge the LRA to reconsider their approach. For years we embraced violence and achieved little, since attempting peace we have seen slow progress, but progress non the less. I would urge the leadership of the LRA to consider other approaches than violence and learn from the lessons we have. I send my wishes for a speedy recovery to the security agent who bravely intervened to save the Empresses life, such devotion to duty is an honourable thing indeed." While Rokkenjima have acknowledged our homeland as a "Terrorist Organisation" the King has been attempting to build bridges by supporting human rights initiatives, something the Empress of Rokkenjima is famed for. "We understand Empress Beatrice may be hesitant to trust us, and that trust must be earned. CIS "ALLEGED WAR CRIMES"  In statements given by various leaders of the CIS nations accusations of war crimes has taken place in Soviet Safraen. While nations claim to have gone their to support the liberation of those in the Soviet zone it appears that Verovian forces have been murdering innocent people. This comes after the Ackhaerin military stated that the mission was a response to the recent re-emergence of the Kaiju virus and to prevent a second round of soviet atrocities. King Kyle stated, "It is hard to believe that the CIS have betrayed Achkaerin so badly. They had a noble vision for their involvement in the nation and now Verovia have damaged their reputation." Verover where only recently re-admitted into the CIS after the invitation of East Moreland was accepted. The Morelander allies have now been accused of executing Prisoners of War. King Kyle commented on the situation. "This clearly show the utter incompetence of the Moreland government, they allow a fascists nation into their midst completely tricking the rest of the CIS and now this happens. What have the Morelanders done to stop this? Nothing, the King releases a weak statement and that is all." The Emperor of Verover quickly released a statement blaming the incidents on rogue elements. "Clearly the Emperor has no control over his armed forces, much like King David who has for many years allowed his men to kill innocent people wishing only to be free. RUGBY STAR CLAIMS BORLAND PASSPORT  Northfort Harlequins rugby player Carl Dixon yesterday claimed his Borland passport. In an exclusive interview with the IBN the 26 year old scrum half said, "All my life I've hidden my allegiance for the sake of my sport, well I've had enough, I want to be who I truly am. I'm tired of playing alongside Morelanders and hearing them bad mouth my true homeland." Carl Dixon has played in the East Moreland Premier League for 6 years and has won two Premiership titles, he narrowly missed making his international debut in the CIS cup. "While it would have been nice to play at the very top level in international competition I don't think I could have done it, in a way I'm glad the head coach picked Danny Cares ahead of me as it would have been strange saying no but my heart wouldn't have been in it." The players future is now uncertain as he has 12 months left on his Harlequins contract and it is not known how the club will react to the players admission of being a loyal Borlander. King Kyle spoke of his excitement of Dixon being officially recognised as a Borlander. "I've known for many years that Carl is one of us, I've been delighted to see him rise in the rugby world and I'm glad I never saw him wear the Red of East Moreland, it shows that his loyalty is beyond question as he had many opportunities to further his rugby career but his homeland means much more to him" Carl Dixon spoke of his long term ambition, "I hope that perhaps a move out of East Moreland will be possible, maybe somewhere like Dijel or Ossario, those teams style of play impressed me in the CIS competition and I've heard good things about their leagues. BORLAND TO PROPOSE TERRITORY SHARING  King Kyle Barren today announced a plan to end hostilities with East Moreland in exchange for a territory sharing deal. "We have shown that we are commited to a path of peace, we have stopped our offensives, we have signed the Human Rights Treaties and we have begun an attempt establish embassies and promote a dialogue with the world." The King said in an announcement which included the request to open an embassy in Banaria. "Banaria is a regional neighbour and as such it makes sense that we try and build diplomatic links with them. We know East Moreland will have done the same after meeting to discuss the Alba Karinya treaty and it would be unrealistic to think King David had not been filling their minds with poison against us." It is hoped that the issue of an embassy will be settled by the weekend. Meanwhile the King unveiled a map which he hopes the world will consider supporting. "The map I have drawn up splits East Moreland fairly, in fact I would say more in favour of the Morelanders. We require only 1/8th of the territory yet around half the population are Borlanders by our determination. This homeland would make our Empire complete and put to bed once and for all the question of where Borlanders belong. 1500 years ago Northfort was the capital of Borland and we wish only to go back there." No word has yet come from the government of East Moreland however it is expected that they will refuse to even consider the proposal. "I have not ruled out asking the Banarian's to facilitate talks perhaps, however we must first see what this meeting holds. I just pray that the Morelanders haven't run their usual smear campaign against us." KING KYLE POINTS OUT HYPOCRISY As the international community lends its support to Dyfedia the King was keen to point out the international communities hypocrisy. "There is little difference between ourselves and Dyfedia. Both nations have been repressed for as long as anyone can remember. Both nations have used violence in the past and both nations now see diplomacy as the key to their futures. While the international community have flocked to embrace Dyfedia we are still labelled terrorists. I find it hard to see any difference except we have struggled for over 1000 years against the tyrant we face while Dyfedia have been under the hammer for less time." The King however was keen to point out he had no issue with Dyfedia. "Who can blame them? I admire what they have achieved and I wish them all the best. However it makes me wonder, if we had been under the yoke of Warsaw would the international community have seen us the same way. The world is obsessed with seeing Warsaw as the only force of evil in this world yet they ignore the horrific subjugation that East Moreland have inflicted on Borlanders, I guess we don't count as we aren't fighting Communist tyranny." "DARTFORDIA PICKS AND CHOOSES" SAYS KING KYLE  After the nation of Transvaal controvertially announced the imprisonment of 50 Rokkenjiman nationals the Kingdom of Dartfordia, refered to by many as the "7th Province" unsurprisingly came out in support of their allies. Prime Minister Saxon of Dartfordia then refered to Transvaal breaching Article 7 of the Human Rights treaty in an attempt to defend the Rokkenjiman's. When questioned about the situation King Kyle said, "I find it rather ironic that Dartfordia where very quick to arrest and lock up people travelling on Borlander passports, yet now find another nation locking someone from "Mummy Province" up to actually be a breach of human rights. That didn't seem to bother them when they've arrested people from our nation." The King however did go on and support the sentiments of Mr.Saxon's statement. "Clearly these people will not receive a fair trial, all statements have all but announced their guilt, I fear these people will receive nothing but a show trial." The situation is thought by many to be connected to the situation in the Illumic which has been sparked after an incident over Whaling between protesters and Toshikawan government. This has left a protesters ship immobile and needing support from Rokkenjima. "Had the Dartfordian's not taken our naval vessels we would have been able to lend support ourselves. As a nation native to the Illumic this is a responsibility we take seriously and are disappointed they have prevented us from carrying out a vital duty." said King Kyle. Following this Toshikawa demanded the arrest of the protesters and their ally Transvaal moved to intercept. "I believe the protesters clearly have a case to answer but there are ways and means. First get the people to safety and the deport them." The King said offering his view of the situation. In a related matter East Moreland passed a law limiting the trade in whale meat. "Once again these people are trying to impose their own rules and culture on another nation. I suspect the fact that this is a matter the Queen feels is important has swayed her husband, if I was a Moreland, praise the Gods I'm not, then I'd be worried that their King is weak and his wife is really running the nation." said King Kyle. |

BANARIA BEGINS TALKS WITH KINGDOM  Lord Joshua Lowe, Duke of Northfort has recently travelled to Banaria to begin talks about opening the nations first embassy. Following requests to apply for an embassy King Kyle put forward an application and since then the two nations have been in talks over the issue. It is believed that Banaria also are interested in signing some agreements to promote peace and harmony between the two nations. King Kyle said, "I hope this can be the first of many embassies representing our people around the world. I'm happy our neighbours to the West saw fit to take this opportunity, perhaps now other nations will also start to recognise our right to representation."  OIL SPILL COULD BE THREAT TO HIGH ROCK After a oil tanker ran aground in the Matilda Canals a large scale oil slick has begun to spread into the Mhorish Sea. While the oil has yet to reach the Borland EEZ of High Rock it is expected that a slight impact will be felt on fish and sea life stocks. Governments from several nations are attempting to contain the slick but so far having limited success. THE WHORE, "THE KING" & THE 7th PROVINCE  In a bizarre meeting, only thought possible in a big screen movie, the so called "King of East Moreland" , a prostitute and a low ranking delegation from Rokkenjima's 7th Province, Dartforida, have meet to discuss the ownership of High Rock. According to recently received paperwork the rock was deemed to be the legal property of a Gloria Macclesfield, a whore from Dartfordia, in some underhand deal she has tricked the East Moreland and Dartfordian government into givng her millions of pounds for what is not hers. "The situation is laughable" King Kyle stated, "an uneducated sex worker has pulled the wools over the eyes of two groups of people claiming to run nations." The East Moreland Ministry of Justice have issued a demand for Lord Parrish of High Rock and his comrade Sir Jack Hardy to vacate the rock within 48 hours. "As we do not recognise the right of East Moreland to issue such court documents we clearly are not going to comply, its no more valid than a man selling the street light outside his home. High Rock is sovereign Borland territory and will remain as such." It is thought that East Moreland Naval forces are moving to the area and Lord Parrish is preparing to defend his home. The treaty that was signed in front of the international media also caused a stir because of the identity of the Dartfordian delegation. While the East Moreland contingent was made up of "King" David, the inexperienced Tim Carpenter and the murderer Harry Samuelson, three leading government members, Dartfordia saw only fit to send a group of minor underlings, possibly because their Rokkenjiman overlords knew this was an illegitimate treaty. |

TREATY SIGNED WITH BANARIA Lord Joshua Lowe, the rightful Duke of Northfort today signed a treaty with Banaria establishing diplomatic relations with our neighbours and securing peaceful futures for both nations. Having signed the treaty hours earlier Lord Lowe said, "It has taken great bravery by the Banarian's to be the first nation to sign a treaty with us, they clearly recognise the great strides towards diplomatic solutions our nation has taken and we are grateful for the opportunity that has presented itself." The treaty puts in place means by which both nations will discuss issues, co-operate in terms of territorial integrity and various other matters. King Kyle also spoke to the press. "I am delighted the government of President Benedict Archambault has agreed to this treaty. It is important for us to have good relationships with our neighbours and seeing a member of their governments signature next to the Duke of Northfort's is a great step for us. I hope this is the first of many such treaties we can have with other nations. I believe this could also be the first step in us establishing much greater relationships with the people of Banaria." |

COUP IN EAST MORELAND Moments ago the Chief of "Royal" Household Alex Redfern, known by many to be a former Red Legion murderer, has announced that "King" David of East Moreland is to be removed due to ill health. Since the announcement there has been no word of the the King, nor has he been seen in public making his daily trip to the whore of a wife. BRAVE BORLAND STAND ON EDGE OF GLORY  Despite being ranked as outsiders the Kingdom of Borland's Football team have made the semi-finals of the IFFA World Cup. After defeating the fake nation of East Moreland twice they topped the group and then swept aside Thomradia. The team now face host nation Achkaerin in the semi final. Team captain Giles Barnes said "We never expected to get a point, so to do so well in our group was a fairy tale, it was an honour to play in the Quarter Finals but now getting so close I hope that we can pull off one of sports biggest miracles." The team has only two professional players, both of whom play in the Union of Nordic People's 2nd tier. The hero of the Borland team has been young striker Jeff Nolan who has netted an impressive five goals so far. King Kyle Barren has been watching every game and said "I'm extremely proud of what these boys have achieved, its clearly placing us on the international stage and they have been exceptional ambassadors for our people. Every game they've faced bias crowds with very little support of their own, they've faced the enmity of their fellow sports people and had every coach slagging them off. I'd love to see them upset the odds and bring home the trophy. The team would face either Seaforth or Dartfordia in the final should they defeat the hosts. |

KING TAKES 2nd WIFE  Following being granted permission by High Priestess Mary Sutton. Miss Rebekah Parrish, now Queen Rebekah Barren is a Lieutenant in the Borland Army and it is believed that it is during operations in the Alps the pair meet. The pair married in a small private ceremony in the Alpine shrine of Marissa in Borthwick which was presided over by the High Priestess. The ceremony was attended by members of the Parrish family, the Kings closest advisor and his first wife Queen Emma Barren. The King and Queen Emma, both aged 35, are childless following the murder of their first child Prince George by the East Moreland government. Following the ceremony His Majesty the King said, "Some may find this a strange turn of events, however I have the blessings of both my beautiful Queen Emma and the true Priesthood, who we fall in love with is determined by the Goddess Marissa and I am blessed to have been given the love of two beautiful women."  GOVERNMENT IN EXILE ESTABLISHED Prior to his wedding King Kyle passed a decree establishing the Borland Rights Council. This organisation will effectively be a government in exile. In a statement made on his way to the shrine in Borthwick the King stated. "After the illegal seizure of our territory of High Rock it is necessary for us to establish a fully functioning government in exile". This will be the purpose of the BRC, they will be given four broad missions. 1. The establishment of a permanent Borland homeland. 2. To campaign to ensure all Borland Folk recieve their rights as laid down by the MCUR which we signed. 3. To physically protect the property and honour of all Borland Folk 4. To one day see a Borland King in Northfort Palac In addition the BRC will look to establish connections with other nations and organisations. It is expected a formal cabinet will be announced in the coming days with the Kings new Father in Law Lord Parrish being named as Prime Minister. In closing his statement the King said "We once had nations recognising our right to High Rock, yet when East Moreland illegally evict us from that territory those nations said nothing, we must build back these relationships and ensure a future for all Borland Folk." |

KING ANNOUNCES AID FOR "TRUE GOVERNMENT OF SEAFORTH"  King Kyle of Borland and the Borland Folk today announced that he would be aiding the Seaforth Church, or as he called it "Part of the True Government of Seaforth" in resisting the pressure being illegally applied by many nations. Speaking from a location within the Borland Alps the King said, "We may have a different faith than the people of Seaforth, but to my knowledge the Church has always been a force for good and we share many ideals. It is ridiculous that people have brought into the East Moreland backed lies of this Eugenics Programme being a real thing, and even more laughable that the world has swallowed the false evidence that the Lassa Fever is a church manufactured virus." As a show of support the King has encouraged Borlanders to make their way to Seaforth and voulenteer to help the legitamate government. "It is the duty of all Borlanders to take up arms against oppression, Seaforth faces a situation where once again the CIS, Rokkenjima and the Dartfordians are throwing their double standards around in order to gain their own agenda." In the past several dozen Borlanders have served in the Seaforth Foreign Legion and it is expected in the coming days that several thousand loyal Borlanders will make their way to Seaforth to heed the call, in particular sensing an Imperialistic move by East Moreland from their wannabe colony in Illumic East. SEAFORTH HONOURS KING KYLE BARREN  Following the King of Borland and the Borland Folk encouraging the citizens of Borland to aid the true government of Seaforth the title of Earl of Grey and Baron Simcoe have been conferred upon him. The title grants the King a portion of land in the Seaforthian province of Northumbria, in return the King has raised a regiment of light infantry amongst the Borland exiles who have recently flocked to the Kings new territory. The Grey and Simcoe Foresters are a light infantry regiment that will draw on the skills the Borland military have gained fighting for freedom in the Alps. The new Seaforthian noble said, "I'm extremely proud to be granted this title. Seaforth are a nation with a proud military heritage and a nation we have always respected, even if we haven't always been on the same side. Sadly it appeared the Rhodes family were taken in by the Ironside families lies , however it is clear the Triumvirate are a more astute government and clearly recognise the way our struggle has been misrepresented. For us this is just another step on the road to our nations liberation from the Ironsides." The King is expected to visit his new territory in the coming days along with Queen Emma and Queen Rebekah. The pregnant Queen Rebekah spoke of her pride in the new regiment, "The Borland military have always been fine soldiers and to finally see them in a proper uniform rather than the irregular gear we use back home is a very proud moment. WORLD IGNORE CRISIS. BORLAND RESPONDS  As news reaches the world of the health crisis that is sweeping through Zimalia the world is strangely silent. In an unprecidented move members of the Kingdom of Borland's Royal Medical Corps have headed across the boarder and began treating the mysterious epidemic. Amongst those medically trained members of the armed forces who have volunteered for the mission is our very own King, Kyle Barren. Upon hearing news of the medical crisis the Corps began their drive North and arrived this morning to scenes of burning bodies, death in the streets and refugees struggling for food and water. Teams immediy began to distribute water and dispose of the dead. Captain Francesca Culverhouse of the Medical Corps said "In all of my years of service I've not seen anything like this, how a people's own government can't attempt to respond to such a crisis is a travesty, the fact all these big nations in the world are just sat doing nothing shows that when it's the poor they don't care." The team of Borlanders are establishing a medical centre designed to treat people who appear to be dying of some kind of rapidly spreading infection. Captain Culverhouse said, "We're taking all possible pre-cautions for the time being ensuring that we don't spread this any further. We'll spend the first few days disposing of the dead as respectfully as we can and then move onto treating and investigating" The outbreak has seen no action taken by any other nation and in the words of King Kyle, "It once again shows the selfishness of the world, Zimalia is one of the poorest on Mundus, it has very little and its trade is minimal, so what do we see, we see this so called big nations ignoring it, the outbreak hasn't even appeared in one EMTV, Northfort News, DBC, RBC or People's Eye. This people are sat in the CTO HQ somewhere dealing with matters which only plump their own pillows. Where is the Security Council resolution to come to the aid of Zimalia? There is none so it's left to us and the true champions of the Code of Canley to take action when others won't." |

"BUILDING A BETTER WORLD" - KING KYLE  Construction is almost complete on the first church in Borland Town. The aid workers sent by His Majesty King Kyle have been helping return life to normal in the small township and ensuring that a place of worship is provided to the devout members of the community. Everyone has been lending a hand including the King himself. It is expected to be ready for this Sunday for worship. The King said, "Religion is an important part of my life and clearly the lives of the people of Zimalia. They may worship a different God than I do but it is not my place to judge them. I would be thrilled if this had been a Temple, however I know that isn't likely at the moment, although we have been sharing our faith with the locals who seemed intrigued, especially the young children and we've had one or two people convert and we've been happy to help them. The true High Priestess is going to attend the opening of this church in a few days time and we'll be proud to join them in their first act of worship, it will truly show the co-operation between the Kingdom of Borland and Zimalia." Meanwhile the township held it's first football match with the King XI narrowly losing to Zimalia F.C 2-3. In the next few days Zimalia United will play the King's XI as part of the Borland Town Trophy. King Kyle spoke about this iniciative. "The people here love football, personally I don't get it but when abroad and all that, we put the tournament on to take people's minds off the situation, three teams and sadly my team didn't do to well." the King played centre back for the King XI and was yellow carded in the 86th minute conceding the free kick that made it 2-3. |

PRINCIPALITY OF NORTHERN BORLAND ESTABLISHED  Today is was confirmed that the President of Zimalia Binyamin Lewes has granted the Borlanders control over the town in which they have been working as aid workers. The town will now be renamed the Principality of Northern Borland with King Kyle Barren established as the first Prince. The newly named Prince of Northern Borland said, "This is a proud day for our tiny settlement, we now have many rights which permit us some authority over many aspects of our daily life. We will now seek to ensure the township and its surrounding lands get developed and become a stable and prosperous place to live, this will be a long process but we are confident that the Principality will flourish." The Principality will be entitled to establish its own system of government and policies such as trade, environment, health and foreign relations. It is expected that the government will be confirmed in the coming days. REBUILDING PROJECT TO TAKE PLACE  The Principality of Northern Borland has today unveiled plans for Borland City 2017, a project to turn the ramshackle township into a modern settlement. The project will provide housing for a total of around 150,000 people and will feature many homes made out of container boxes. The first of the new homes will be available in just two months time and will first of all go to the elderly and then to families with children under the age of 10. The first containers arrived later in the day and were already beginning the process of turning them into homes. The Principality is a semi-autonamous region of Zimalia and has many powers of it's own with the exception being it's ability to set its own tax rates. It is likely that part of the project will look to capitalise on this to help establish the Principality as a commercial hub in order to allow the Prince of Northern Borland, Kyle Barren, to further improve the situation of those living there. The area came under Borland control following an outbreak of a disease which spread through Zimalia infecting hundreds of thousands. The initial medical project has helped save hundreds of lives and the area known as Borland City had become a safe haven for many. |

"At present we are going through a transition, in addition to seeking international recognition for the Principality of Northern Borland we will continue efforts to reclaim our rightful homeland based around Northfort. What has amazed me however is that for so long we followed a path of violence and now we have shown our commitment to peace we are still shunned by the international community, it seems we're damned if we do and damned if we don't. Lets look carefully at our forces, since my wife was murdered under the pretence of a lawful execution by the Morelanders not one act of aggression has been carried out. I would think the world would understand our desire to avenge the murder of our Queen yet we have focused our anguish into helping others. While an outbreak on an unknown virus sweeps through Zimalia only one nation has made any attempt to help, and that is us. We have proven ourselves to be a committed member of the international community, we have shown that our forces are being used for good, to do the work of Helus in protecting those who can not protect themselves. As I talk with you today I'm on my way to attend the opening of a government building that is to be the centre piece of a new city, a city that will rise out of the ashes of human suffering. This city was all but wiped out by the deadly virus. Now as Zimalia still suffers we are turning what was a mud and clay town into a modern city, some 150,000 people will be housed, children will be schooled, businesses opened and future forged. We are doing all this on a shoestring, only Zachachevania came forward to support us and our efforts and for that I thank them on behalf of all the people here. We see the Mundus Development Bank sat on tens of billions of dollars and they have not so much as offered a single dollar to help the people of Zimalia during this crisis. While Borlanders world wide donate all they possibly can these fat cats sit on vast reserves of wealth seeking only opportunities to make themselves richer. The Commonwealth Treaty Organisation sit there judging busying themselves to invade foreign lands to bring stability, or should I say maintain their stability, you see change is not in their interests, damn the people who live somewhere and want to make a change in their lives. It's the same for us here in Northern Borland, not a single nation is willing to change the status quo by backing us because of fear for what the old boys club will say. It is my intention to take our nation building to the next step, in the coming days I will once again add my name to the Uppsala Convention, MCUR, FSC and several other documents, we will seek membership of the Alba Karinya Organisation and approach the Commonwealth Treaty Organisation for recognition as a sovereign nation. The King showed his support for the Rokkenjiman initiative by issuing an arrest warrant for Matilda Ironside from the Principality of Northern Borland and has called on all nations to observe international custom by arresting her should she visit them before holding an extradition hearing. "I am confident that if the nations who claim they are committed to preserving wildlife live up to their promises we can bring this animal torturer to justice." The Rokkenjiman decree was also signed into law today in the Principality of Northern Borland.  FIRST STAGE OF BORLAND CITY 2017 FINISHED The first stage of Borland City 2017 project has finished on schedule. The city to be made almost entirely of old shipping containers is expected to be home to 150,000 people when completed. The initial stage of the project has provided home for 2,500 people in a series of containers which have been converted into family homes, each completed with access to sewage, electricity and running water. The first homes have been allocated to those considered to be most in need and over 8,500 registered for them. The remaining 6,000 people will now be placed on a waiting list for the next batch of homes to be finished. The city is built a few km away from the township which was used as a Borland aid station during the outbreak of the virus which ravaged Zimalia. |

58 DEAD IN EAST MORELAND AIR STRIKE  Yesterday morning two East Moreland Dragonheart aircraft dropped four bombs on the capital of the Principality of Northern Borland killing 58. The attack on Borland Town came just as the township had unveiled its latest container based home which marked the 50,000th citizen housed. During the attack bombs landed in two residential areas and on a medical facility which acted as a store area for the clinics medical supplies. In the aftermath Borland citizens attempted to treat the injured however as the medical store had been destroyed the medics where unable to do much for those injured until aid came from neighbouring Zimalia two hours later. It was later confirmed that 47 civilians were killed, including 12 children, as well as 11 members of the Principality Defence Force. King Kyle Barren was not in Borland Town when the attack came but was quick to send his condolences, "Today 58 people have been murdered in an unprovoked attack. These people had begun to build themselves a new life in a town we were extremely proud of, people had put in hundreds of hours of hard work to better their lives and today those lives were snatched away from them. Children enjoying the prospect of attending school for the first time were murdered while they played. This is a savage act that the international community must not let go unpunished. This comes the week that we tried to show good faith and announced an intention to disarm, a move designed to try and bring peace and stability to Mundus and Alba Karinya, while we talk about ending violence and bringing about a new dawn of peace the East Morelanders have murdered us."  An eye witness Cassandra Dawson was taking pictures for the International Borland News when the attack happened and managed to capture the aircraft as they passed overhead. "There was such a loud noise from the far end of the village that I missed the first pass, it was horrible, I felt my ears literally burst with the pressure of them. Next I saw a dot streak towards us and drop a bomb on the medical store. It literally knocked me off my feet. I just had time to take the one image before the screams around me snapped my attention to what was important." A Ministry of Defence spokesman, Andrew Southern, said "The image clearly shows an East Moreland Dragonheart aircraft at the end of its bombing run. I don't know what else we need to do to convince the international community that we have been the target of an unprovoked attack by a much technologically advanced nation." Shortly after Minister Southern visited the scene to help with rescue efforts. As operations ended for the evening he was photographed holding bomb fragments taken from the crater at the medical store. Speaking again to the media he said, "We will be sifting through these ruins in the coming days to find our dead brothers and sisters and document every last scrap of this travesty."  |

The self proclaimed "Queen of East Moreland" was today attacked by a commercial drone adapted to carry explosives. Local media and "officials" have alleged that the people of Borland are responsible. With the King busy in the Principality hosting disarmament observations, it was left to Queen Beatrix Barren to speak on behalf of the nation.

DISARMAMENT COMPLETED  Today King Kyle Barren personally oversaw the destruction of the Borland Armies offensive weapons. Witnessed by representatives of Nya Aland, Dameran and Sparta the King destroyed several surface to air missiles, improvised drones, rocket launchers and various other weapons. The decision to disarm had been made prior to the unprovoked attack by East Moreland however the King spoke about his need to follow through with his promise. "As Borlanders we believe it its vital we keep our word. I promised the nations of Mundus that we would put the offensive weapons at her disposal beyond use, by going back on that promise it would give the nations of Mundus a stick to beat us with, as clearly they would be swayed by Morelander propaganda, beside I want my people to know I'm a man of my word." The disarmament means that the Borland Army is now equipped only with weaponry and equipment to defend the Principality, as a result King Kyle Barren hopes that other nations will give a level of trust to the Principality. "We have no way of harming others, what do nations now have to fear talking with us. We've on several occasions attempted to join the international community and we will now continue to do so in the hope of one day having our homeland join major organisations and bring prosperity to the people of Northern Borland." In the minutes after the destruction of the weapons videos showing the process and the large explosion were posted to YouTube to show the world that the weapons had indeed been destroyed. KING URGES COUSIN TO RETURN TO PRINCIPALITY  His Majesty King Kyle Barren today made an emotional plea to his cousin Sarah Wallis-Campbell to stop her terror attacks and return home to the Principality. Speaking shortly after the disarmament process the King said, "Sarah is not in her right mind, the East Moreland air strike on our homeland left her younger sister, my cousin Rebecca, without the use of her legs, how can a sister be expected to act rationally. She has always been a passionate supporter of our cause however at this time her actions are doing more harm than good. This whole "King's Blood" organisation is not one I support, our people's concentration should be on the rebuilding of the Principality, not on causing more bloodshed. She does however have a good point that East Moreland should be made to account for their actions, something the international community have ignored, meanwhile people call for my arrest or worse, and for what, building several thousand people a new life out of the ashes of a horrible disease. If Sarah can hear this message I urge her to return to the Principality immediately, your sister misses you and I wish only to help you." The King was visibly upset by the situation. CTO TALKS ON BORLAND Talks held in the Commonwealth Treaty Organisation have focused on the recognition of the Principality. Following a resolution brought forth by President Lewes of Zimalia the CTO Security Council have suggested that the nation be admitted on a "trial" basis. This was a move welcomed by King Kyle. "I appreciate that our war for our right to exist has gone on long enough, we have now carved out for ourselves a home and are quiet literally struggling everyday to make the Principality work, we've managed to in just a short space of time create a school, but more are needed, a hospital, which was destroyed by East Moreland's military, and we have begun giving people homes. We don't even have 24 hour electricity yet. This has been a remarkable achievement for something that is being labelled a terrorist organisation. We've also destroyed EVERY offensive weapon we have witnessed by members of the international community, I don't recall any other nation doing that before." The talks seemed to be going in the favour of the Principality until Rokkenjima intervened by creating a second resolution calling for the removal of the King as leader of the nation as well as allowing "neutral" nations to draft the nations rules regarding government. The King said, "The resolution is frankly ridiculous and merely an attempt to extend Rokkenjima's influence into Alba Karinya further. The resolution labels me and the people fighting for our freedom "war criminals", I have done nothing that other nations haven't in war. I seek to remove the leader of our enemy, Nya Aland tried to do that in Marseille and were invited to be part of the CTO Mission in Marseille. I attack the infrastructure of East Moreland in order to cripple their war machine, meanwhile Rokkenjiman forces, with Empress Beatrice as commander in chief, blew up a nuclear power plant in Thomradia. According to the Uppsala Convention 8.1 which states "All possible care should be taken to ensure no civilian casualties." this is a breach of that, yet I am not witnessing any nation bringing a resolution calling for the Empress to face charges as a war criminal. If this resolution is permitted it smacks of their being one rule for the imperalists and one for everyone else." Many locals in the Principality are however concerned, Ugo Ehigou said, "What we are seeing here is our little nation being bullied, we are being asked to give up the very people who fought for our right to exist, the people who have given so many of us a new start in life. We allowed the international community here a few weeks ago for the disarmament, we have Nya Aland here carrying out support work, our Principality has nothing to hide from the outside world, we are no threat yet nations who wage war for just profit like Zachachevania are ignored, the Englightenment are ignored while they are their allies bomb aid efforts in Reach. However I believe we are the easy targets." It is hoped that the first draft resolution granting temporary probationary status will be the one selected by CTO.  BARREN SPEAKS ON KIDNAPPING His Majesty King Kyle Barren has spoken of the recent comments made by Emperor Alex Anselmo over the kidnapping of Princess Adriana.
Meanwhile the King has published information about Harold Neil, a man who is believed to be on the run with Princess Adriana as hostage.

PRINCIPALITY FILES APPLICATION It was announced late last night that the Principality of Northern Borland has filed an application to join the Commonwealth Treaty Organisation. The application was announced by Queen Beatrix Barren from outside her private residence in the Principality to much celebration. Speaking to the crowd the Queen made the following announcement.
Many have wondered why the King himself has not commented on the application, in fact since it being placed he has been unseen in the Principality, giving many reason to believe he may be attempting to get other nations to back the application.   KING NAMES 22nd of MAY EVE OF DESPAIR King Kyle Barren of Borland has made the decision that the 22nd of May shall become a national day of mourning for Borlanders known as the Eve of Despair. The date marks the evening before the Battle of Greenflowers in the 8th Century which saw an end of the Borland Kingdom. During the battle the rightful King of the area, King Niall Barren, was betrayed by part of his army and murdered, it was only because he had sent his wife and son away that the Barren line, the rightful rulers of the area today refered to as "East Moreland". King Kyle spoke from his headquarters about the new day of mourning and the general state of the world.

 KING ANNOUNCES SECRET HEIR King Kyle Barren of Borland and the Borland Folk today announced that he fathered a son two years ago. The announcement comes as the King spoke with selected media outlets, explaining first the reason for secrecy. "Several years ago I had a child ripped away from me after David ordered him murdered at the age of six months. I could not risk that with my new born son." The King married for the third time six months after the murder of his second wife, Queen Rebekah Barren at the hands of the Morelanders. His third wife is a distant cousin Alice Wallis-Campbell, the youngest child of renegade King's Blood leader Mary, the now 24 year old gave birth to her first child with the King in secret, however the King did confirm that he was upset that "My heir was not born on Borland soil, we feared attacks and so it happened overseas, I deeply regret not being there." The King also confirmed that the name of the new Prince is William and that he and mother are doing well. He then took the oppurtunity to distance himself from the kidnap of Queen Mary, saying "We do not attack Cultists unless they stand against us and with the Morelanders, we have no quarrel with the Mercians." |

 KINGDOM ACCEPTS NEW TERRITORY Late last night the mayor of the town of Stoneton announced that he was handing over control of the town to King Kyle Barren, and as such joining the Kingdom of Borland. His Majesty King Kyle personally accepted the keys to the town and watched with delight as townsfolk and Borlanders raised the Dragon Banner over the ceremonial centre of the town, an old post office which has stood for several hundred years. The townsfolk came out to meet their new King and welcome him to his new territory. His Majesty spoke with the gathered media stating, "I am so proud to accept this honour. I swear here now to my new friends that I shall be a fair and just King and that through hard work, dedication and our faith we shall build Stoneton into the envy of the world. Over the next few days I plan to meet with the people of Stoneton and personally welcome them into the family that is my Kingdom. While their old so called monarch saw them as his subjects, I see them as my children, who I must protect and nurture so they reach greatness, they will find in me someone who is active in bettering their lives." The former Mayor, Alfred Thompson, has been named as acting Prime Minister until elections are held in three days time following which the people will have selected their Head of Government. The King spoke of his excitement, "The people here will, for the first time, be able to say they have selected their leading politician, we may be a monarchy but I work with my elected representatives to make sure the voice of my people is heard, and acted upon." One of the King's first decrees was to cancel the upcoming feast scheduled for the 23rd of May, a day refered to as the Festival of Greenflowers, which marks the cowardly slaughter of the Borlanders by those loyal to the treasonous Ironsides. Instead the town will celebrate on the 20th Prime Minister Day, a day on which they elect their first Prime Minister. King Kyle also announced he intended to invite Crown Princess Adrianna to the feast saying, "The future Queen of Rokkenjima is being influenced to spend time in East Moreland, no doubt they will attempt to fill her mind with propaganda against us. We have already seen she has a care for our people and our cause and I wish her to be our first guest of honour." |
