I really think it's remarkable. For our athletes to come from the mild climate of Thomradia and travel all the way to Achkaerin and compete in winter events. It really shows, that whilst these sports don't get much recognition here, skiing on the slopes of the Rhines, and the little known sports contested in the Flintshire steppe can really make a difference on the world stage, and our comrades are doing an excellent job of demonstrating that. Hopefully they can keep it up!

Eulogy

 

My Comrades.

I am before you, in the grimmest of circumstances. I have the somber task, of confirming for the people of Thomradia, the passing of the Chairman of the United Soviet Russia, Dylan Stalin.

Stalin was a great man, and a great friend of mine, as well as a friend, and hero of all Soviets, and Thomradians. His work for the proletariat of his nation was admirable, and enviable.

He oversaw drastic changes for his nation - industrialization, collectivization - which brought about great change, and brought his country from a backward nation, to one at the forefront of international development. A leader in industry, production, and strength. He was a steadfast ally, and a trustworthy companion. He never stood down, and never abandoned allies. He was a fixed point, from which we all measured ourselves.

Here the Supreme Commandant paused for several seconds.

Forgive me, for my heart is buried with Stalin.

Another Pause

But recently, when I found myself at the helm of a young nation, Stalin was the one who aided me. Without Stalin, Thomradia would not be the nation it is today. We all have him to Thank for our prosperity, and our freedom.

I urge the people of the USR, and Thomradia, not to despair. Stalin was a great man, and the world is colder without him, but we must remember his legacy and what he fought for. To leave hysteria, distress and chaos in his memory would be disrespectful to his ideals, and would upset him greatly. Stalin lives on in the memories, and wishes of all those he leaves behind.

Do not cry for Stalin, but move on, and continue to make progress in his name.

Statement

 

This is a drastic, rash measure by Rokkenjima and her allies, and yet another move of heavy-handed diplomacy which only exacerbates the problem. Transvaal has reclaimed its land, and Rokkenjima is holding on for dear life, and attempting to shift the focus to allow Beatrice to continue to strong-arm Illumic nations to conform with her will. Yet again WARSAW is forced to act as the only resistance for southern Aggression. We demand that all parties withdraw their naval assets from Transvaal, and allow trade to resume, and would hate to see this misunderstanding spiral into another devastating conflict.

Thomradian Stance on the USR-Mechean Conflict

 

As close as our friendship with the USR is, our involvement in this military action is defined by the WARSAW Charter. Let me cite article 5:

If a Warsaw state is seen as the aggressor then it is the choice of the Warsaw state as to whether other state's should involve themselves

The USR is certainly the aggressor in this conflict, regardless of their motivations. Thus our involvement is decided by the Peoples' Representative Council, whom have decided that no Thomradian troops, vehicles, ships or any military assets will be involved in Meche.
