If elected, I will take a stand against the great evils in our world and rightly denounce every wrong committed by WARSAW. I will join hands with the likes of Rokkenjima and Caelida to make this world a better place by joining the Cross Straits Treaty Organization. I will spare no effort to protect our rights as humans beings and our liberties as free people from any who would dare attempt to deprive us of them. I make these these promises to all of you, and I vow by the gods of the Erich and the blood of my ancestors to see them fulfilled.

Declaration of War
Against the United Soviet Russia

The First Empire, in recent history, has only declared war or recognized hostilities thrice in recent times, once in regards to the Thematan Regime and twice towards the United Soviet Russia. Whilst the First Empire has always endeavoured to solve its disputes through diplomacy our adversary has declared that diplomacy shall solve nothing, that our words shall not be heard. Rokkenjima has tried to meet this adversary many times in the middle only to be cast off, even then we attempted to pursue a diplomatic solution to the crisis at hand. In light of the previous failures of these efforts, and the unreasonable and insane nature of our adversary, we shall not make the same mistake again.

Yet again the peace of Mundus has been disrupted by the United Soviet Russia, and yet again they have aimed their guns at those less capable of defending themselves, and those who have only committed the crime of exercising their democratic voice. The First Empire proclaims that this cycle of Soviet aggression must be brought to an end, that the final line in the sand has been crossed. When a nation holds elections and returns a government that is not agreeable to your foreign policies it is not your position to send your armies to install a puppet government. The age of imperialism has long been dead, and Rokkenjima will not be an accomplice to this new era of imperialism by being a bystander.

We've all seen the crimes the Soviet Government has committed not only against its own people, but also against those of Safraen and Themata twice. Thus the First Empire proclaims enough is enough. No longer can the world be ruled by the fear of Soviet retaliation for exercising their free voice, nor can any democracy worry that their free exercise will result in a Soviet invasion. The time for apathy has long passed, and the time for action has heralded its arrival.

In recognition of the expiration of the Imperial Rokkenjiman Ultimatum, a history of Soviet crimes against humanity and in further recognition of Soviet desires to suppress the democratic voice of the sovereign nations in their immediate vicinity, the First Empire of Rokkenjima hereby formally declares that a state of war exists between the First Empire and the United Soviet Russia. In the past the world was content to allow the Soviets impunity as they oppressed not only their own citizens, but also the citizens of their neighbours near and afar. Thus today the First Empire stands against the expansion of a Soviet empire of aggression and proclaims the end of apathy, and also that Mechean self-determination is worth defending. As Premier Hartnell stated not one further Soviet Safraen, not one further Soviet Themata!

One of our highest values as a culture is liberty, hence the "Free," and our diverse heritage from the six Premechean States that united to create Meche gives our country nobility and strength, so hence the "Federation." We are still a republic of course, but these aforementioned factors are more crucial to our national identity than the mere fact that Meche is not ruled by a monarch."
