![]() BREAKING NEWS A sizable amount of the army of Thomradia, a WARSAW ally of Ireden and our biggest benefactor, has rebelled citing corruption throughout the government. The UKI has been assured by the Supreme Commandant that everything being said by the treacherous rebels is false. Despite more localized tension, due to the racial undertones of the disturbance, a taskforce is ready to be deployed to Thomradia at a moments notice. Following rising tensions between the UKI and our northern neighbour the Transvaal Trade Empire, King Seamus has mobolised the RIA to strategic locations along the Great Desert Rail in Alba. The reserves are being called upon now to participate in monthly training session weekend-intensives as opposed to the usual bi-monthly 1 day refreshers. ![]() Cargo trains on the Great Desert Rail are being utilised to mobolise troops Dubbed hurricane Katrina, a mega storm the likes of which have never been seen is brewing in the Illumic. Over half a dozen nations fall with in the danger zone, specific to Ireden, the deserts of Alba. Damage to industry could be catastrophic, repair crews are being gathered in case of emergency to do with the Great Desert Rail. Whilst the storm will unlikely have much civilian impact, it will most likely run through the industry city Bracksworth. With a population of 4 million, Bracksworthians are advised to relocate to buildings deemed structurally sound by the local government, as allocated on radio. Even more potentially catastrophic, the resulting sandstorms from the hurricane could theoretically whip out into other surrounding cities. Due to Alba's unique climate and geography, citizens are recommended to remain indoors for at least 70 hours after the epicenter passes by Bracksworth. INTERVIEWS Recently the IBC was privileged to receive a brief interview with the ever allusive Joseih Kovavil, Royal Foreign Adviser to the monarchy. Juliet Sanderly, chief interviewer here at IBC, asked Kosvavil a few hot topic questions. Sanderly: Mr Kovavil, thank you for meeting with me. I understand you're pressed for time, so I'll try to make this short. Kovavil: Thankyou Ms Sanderly. It's a pleasure to be here. Sanderly: So, onto business. WARSAW. Why has the government sought (successfully, may I add) admission into WARSAW? Kovavil: Really it comes down to base ideology. As a nation with strong socialist sentiments, it made sense to ally ourselves with some of the most powerful nations in the world. Like us, they have no tolerance for groups that create tension within society, the region of a nation and the entirety of Mundus. Thomradia has taken us under their wing in many aspects. Sanderly: On a whole though, many have argued that our government is very dissimilar from those of WARSAW. How can this work? Kovavil: Well, Ms Sanderly, put succinctly, we're not as different as you might think. Citizens of Ireden receive healthcare, welfare and education unparalleled throughout Mundus, Public Service is the high point of our industry and what makes our economy as impressive as it is. This socialism aside, we're very similar to WARSAW. Our society maintains militaristic ideals, as it should. Honour is one of the three Iredic tenants, and since our history as a collection of small tribes, we've never shied from bloodshed. I suppose that is what makes us so difference from nations of the CSTO. Sanderly: Speaking of the CSTO, what are your opinions? Kovavil: Frankly, the CSTO is somewhat worrisome. They have currently extremely strained relations with other WARSAW states, which carries over somewhat. On the positive, there is hope for a possible alliance, as the CSTO is not fond of our regional oppressor, Transvaal. Sanderly: Well, Transvaal.. Our troops have been mobolising, correct? Kovavil: Yes, at the current point only for our protection. Whilst there they able bodied men can help with disaster relief in Alba, the area expected to be hit by Katrina the worst. Sanderly: But Transvaal itself.. what are the monarchy's official opinions? Kovavil: They mirror those of the public. Transvaalians are little better than uncultured barbarians. Or perhaps a bit worse. At least barbarians don't enslave their own kind. Although our views may seem extreme, there is certainly no love lost between Transvaal and CSTO, as well as CIS. Sanderly: The CIS, a group of nations forming our principle neighbours. The monarchy hasn't really had any major interactions with this group as of now, correct? Kovavil: That is correct indeed, and frankly, that's the way we want it to stay. Keeping powerful neighbours at least cordial with us is imperative when we face such a threat as Transvaal. Sanderly: I believe that's time, thankyou again for joining us tonight, Mr Kovavil. Kovavil: It was a pleasure, really. ![]() Joseih Kovavil being interviewed by Juliet Sanderly HEARSAY The rumour flying around Mundus at the current moment is that King Seamus Baedan is becoming unhinged. The IBC would like to remind all viewers that these rumours are unsubstantiated and have been denied by the Crown Prince. They are, as the Prince put it, 'the product of the overly active imagination of the masses.' King Seamus hasn't been seen in public for the past few weeks, but Crown Prince Finn has confirmed he is fine, and the monarchy would never mislead the Iredic people. ![]() BREAKING NEWS The United Kingdom has condemned the Toshikawan Empire, after threats have been made against both foreign citizens living in Jenka and the international community. Among those living in Jenka are approximately fifty Iredic workers in Celtic Weave. Communications to many of those living in Jenka, including multiple families, having been disrupted. Relatives remaining in Ireden fear for the lives of their loved ones. ![]() The executive team of Celtic Weave in Jenka - May Ergos guide them At the behest of the Great Uniter, the United Kingdom has departed the WARSAW pact. This has come after a long series of breaches of trust and the charter, culminating in the acceptance of the fascist state of Zachacvania without consultation of the WARSAW body. Iredic industry has gone global with already dominant corporations such as the Celtic Drilling Group, Celtic Weave and West Shore Mining expanding into multiple nations including Berrean, East Moreland, Toshikawa, Saint Monterrey, Rokkenjima and others. Alexander Monroe, Royal Treasurer, has been quoted saying 'this can only lead to good things for Ireden.' In light of the recent Toshikawan developments, Mr Monroe has retracted his statement. |
