Just curious what exactly is considered the world superpowers. I've personally compiled a list just out of my own observation, commens and stuff welcomed, as well as suggestions and corrections: 1. Rokkenjima 2. United Soviet Russia 3. Quinntopia 4. Thomradia 5. East Moreland 6. Dartfordia 7. Dejil 8. Tytor Really this is not by any statistics or anything rather assumptions.Edited by Gadshack, 26th September 2014 - 01:43 AM.

I think the list is interesting. If I'm honest, I wouldn't say the USR and Thomradia rank so high...at least on a 'list' like this. I would probably group nations into categories, rather than have a list: Superpowers: Rokkenjima...Bueller? Great Powers: Quinntopia, Dartfordia, East Moreland, USR, Seaforth Influencing powers: Tytor, Achkaerin, Thomradia, South Hills, UNP Of course there are others, and the above groups aren't in 'order' (e.g. Dartfordia isn't being ranked higher than East Moreland), but to me this is how I would assess Mundus' powers. |

I think the USR is powerful enough to be seen as a superpower. It has a direct hand in the politics of nations across Mundus, much like the Soviet Union IRL. Here's sort of a comparison to real-life roles filled by the nations and organizations of Mundus: CSTO = NATO Warsaw Alliance = Warsaw Pact (shocking!) CIS = Non-Aligned Movement (more or less) CETO = UNESCO Rokkenjima = United States USR = Soviet Union Quinntopia = ...? (no real parallel) Dartfordia = United Kingdom Thomradia = Romania UNP = Sweden |

They did, however the CIS has evolved quiet a bit, Verover also left the CIS and only recently got back in so much of what the CIS has become was done while Verover wasn't here (OOC - As Ivan went AWOL....I think he's on a LOA at the moment too)

A superpower is a state with a dominant position in international relations and is characterized by its unparalleled ability to exert influence or project power on a global scale. This is done through the means of both military and economic strength, as well as diplomatic and soft power influence. So no, Verover is not a superpower. |

If we're to consider all the spheres which are involved in power and its projection (militarily, diplomatically and economically) I'd categorize things as such: Superpowers: Rokkenjima Considering military, diplomatic and economic power and influence (which are three keys to projecting power abroad) I feel that Rokkenjima acts generally as a sole superpower. Alliances such as the CIS and Warsaw each are capable of equaling the power projection abilities of Rokkenjima when acting as a whole, however. Great Powers: Quinntopia, Dartfordia, Tytor, Novincia, East Moreland, Achkaerin, The Dijel, Verover, Seaforth, USR, Thomradia, Aeternum, South Hills These powers should be considered regional powers as well, so keep that in mind if you note their absence in the Regional Powers list below. Regional Powers (Excluding those listed above): Powers which can assert great power regionally, and perhaps beyond their regional areas in a more limited fashion than those above, and some more than others in the later case. Ardia: Caelidia, Ndambia Albion: UNP Cotf Arayne: Magilan, Central Ossarian Republic Emerging Powers: Toshikawa If I've missed anyone don't take it personally, I'm simply going off my recent RP memory. ^^ Edited by Beatrice, 1st October 2014 - 03:03 AM.

*cries in a corner* I agree with Beatrice's list, although I'd say that the USR exists in a state of limbo if you will between the levels of superpower and greatpower. I'd also consider myself at least an emerging power... |

The USR being what it is makes it have more influence then what it would otherwise threat. The fact that it is a massive dictatorship with a huge army and has been very aggressive makes it more of a superpower than otherwise even if it is technically less powerful.

While the USR may have the military hammer, after the global conflict (with Warsaw being on the losing end) and the present conflict (which looks to be leading up to a collapse, and eventual revolution in the USR) that tool is dulled. Combined with more limited diplomatic and economic tools and that position leads to my classification as a 'great power' (due to USR's military and their position as, perhaps, the principle Warsaw power), which I covered in my explanation. ![]() As for Ireden I wasn't quite sure where to place your nation, though it would likely be emerging with the potential to reach regional depending on the path your nation takes. |

The best way to tell where you would be is if you suddenly disappeared from the map, hiw big would the vacuum be diplomatically, ecomomically and militarily. If seaforth went buh bye, there would be upheaval in the illumic and coft aranye for sure. Throw in trade deals and military bases ect, it woukd affect south hills, marseille, rokken, unp, nya land, the CIS, ect. Would dartfordia be affected? Tytor? Unlikely. So i would place seafirth as a great power. Rokken going miasing would create a large power vacuum mundus wide, hence suprrpower. If only your neighbours would be affected, you would be a regional power.
