RONALD COLEMAN COMMISSIONS THOMRADIAN STATE-BROADCASTER
Acting President Ronald Coleman today commissioned the DBC as the official state broadcaster of Dyfedia. The news outlet will make use of TBC assets, and has even kept the same logo to the previous broadcaster, accused by many of being a propaganda outlet for the Thomradian government. The Commission will not only operate a broadcasting channel, but publish daily written newspapers.

The announcement was made along with a statement as Coleman, the full text of which is included below.

Quote:

As a acting president, I wish to make as few changes as possible, as I want no significant reforms decided until the voices of the public are heard. However, I believe that an informed public, and access to just and reliable news reporting is critical to the democratic transition we are advocating. The DBC is not a continuation of the TBC, which was exclusively and entirely a propaganda outlet, but will be a fair, open and unrestricted means of communication.

DYFEDIAN CONSTITUTION BEING DRAFTED; COLEMAN PLEDGES ELECTIONS WITHIN A FORTNIGHT
Whilst announcing the formation of the DBC, Ronald Coleman also announced his plans for the future of Dyfedia. He announced that the Dyfedian constitution was being drafted, and was near complete and his intentions for presidential elections in the near future. He had the following to say.
Quote:

In the interest of unity, especially considering we are presently still fighting the former government, we need to establish ourselves a leader. However in the interest of democracy, we need a leader whom is democratically elected, as per the terms we intend to establish as the foundation of our nation. Thus I declare that on Saturday the 18th of October, citizens with territory considered Dyfedia, will vote in democratic elections to elect a leader for at least the duration of this war. This leader would be the executive leader, whom would lead Dyfedia as an interim President. Naturally these elections will be hampered by the fact that the war rages on, but it is crucial we establish an elected leader for the time being.

When we have secured our nation, I intend to hold another round of elections. These will be coupled with a referendum on our constitution. Another president and a legislative government will be elected.

COLEMAN DECLARES DYFEDIA SECURE; INVITES FOREIGN MEDIA AND DEMOCRATIC EXPERTS
The final announcement made today was that Dyfedia had engaged in its first diplomatic communication. This was a dispatch to several democratic nations of the world, extending the hand of friendship and requesting aid in the drafting of the Dyfedian constitution, and the running of elections. The list of nations includes East Moreland, Quinntopia, Tytor, The Dijel, Rokkenjima and Dartfordia. Meche is also on the list, despite at present struggling in a war against the USR. Along with this dispatch, a public message announced that the City of Dyfedia was no considered secure, and that foreign vessels were welcomed into ports to. It is hoped this will encourage foreign media to report on the birth of the nation.

RONALD COLEMAN PUBLISHES DYFEDIAN COAT OF ARMS AND DRAFT CONSTITUTION
Acting President Ronald Coleman today published the Constitution that is expected to be voted on in around a month. The constitution details policies which are sure to be controversial, including 2 years of compulsory military service, and compulsory voting. The document was released for public scrutiny, as well as scrutiny by the delegates which congregate in Dyfedia tomorrow do discuss and publish the final edition of the Constitution. Although polls conducted indicate over 70 per cent of Dyfedians support the constitution, Coleman stressed that the document was only in the early stages of drafting and their may be changes to come. Speaking at a press conference earlier today, this is what he had to say:
Coleman on Dyfedian Draft Constitution

I'm extremely proud of this document - for me it symbolises the struggle of so many Dyfedians as we fight for democracy. We hope this constitution will prove to be a study framework around which we can build a prosperous nation. I must reinforce however, that this is only a first draft - there potentially could be significant changes to come.

The constitution is attached here:
DYFEDIAN CONSTITUTION, FIRST DRAFT

During the same press conference, Coleman displayed the potential Coat of Arms of Dyfedia, which contains the traditional Trident of Ergos, An Oar, traditionally a symbol of strength and versatility, and a Trident, all golden on a field of blue. The slogan is in Dyfedian Gaelic, and translates to 'In Ergos' Mighty Grasp' in English. The choice of Dyfedian Gaelic has sparked interest, as the language, which is rarely spoken, but prominent within isolated pockets of Dyfedia, had been degraded and rarely used under the previous regime, sparking hopes that the new government may revitalize traditional Dyfedian culture.

ELECTION APPROACHES
Andrew Brosnan, former Commandant under Thomradia, and the first figure of authority to defect, today announced his intention to run for President, in the upcoming interim elections. He announced he would be running on a slightly different platform to Coleman. This is what he had to say.
Brosnan on Ronald Coleman
and Dyfedian Democracy
As much as I appreciate the work Coleman has done in establishing democracy, there are areas where I disagree with him. Notably, I think he has been extremely heavy handed in requesting foreign aid. I am also apprehensive about him inviting the leaders of nations such as Rokkenjima to draft our constitution. Keep in mind, that only a few months ago Rokkenjiman missiles rained down on us. Dyfedia needs to be an isolationist state, free from the influence of nations such as Rokkenjima and alliances such as the CSTO and CIS. I am by no means saying we should be hostile towards them, I simply think that it is unnecessary to introduce them at such an early stage.

These views will come to prominence in the Presidential debate, which Coleman declared will occur tomorrow. It will be televised across Dyfedia, and will feature Coleman, and Brosnan as well as another minor candidate, who is yet to publicly release his name.
DYFEDIAN FORCES ENCIRCLE BUCKLEY
Latest reports indicate that Rebel forces have pushed even further east in their campaign to secure eastern Thomradia. The 'Eastern Theatre' as it is being dubbed, has proven thus far to be the bloodiest campaign, with estimated casualties approaching 100,000. The relatively open terrain has ensured the war has become a bloodbath, in contrast to the more forested and elevated west, which is dominated by geurilla campaigns. Nonetheless, rebels confirmed they had surrounded the city and had it under siege. As the largest city in former Thomradia, it is a crucial city to hold, and Coleman has indicated he would like to see its 14 million population secured, safe and voting in the upcoming elections. The city had been isloated for some time, the rebel front at Mynydd Isa preventing reinforcements entering it seeing rebel forces outnumber loyalist forces approximately 3:1. The city is the largest concentration of government forces which remains in territory claimed by Dyfedia, and Brosnan, acting commander of the Dyfedian Army has warned of mass civilian casualties if rebels are forced to storm the city. He refused to comment on any potential tactics, saying "I am not at a liberty to discuss ongoing campaigns.

RONALD COLEMAN WINS LANDSLIDE ELECTION
Dyfedians went to the polls today to vote in their first presidential elections. Ronald Coleman won in a landslide, reflecting the peoples' respect for Coleman, who has proved his very popular since securing the nation and implementing significant reform. The elections come before the conference on rebuilding Dyfedia, to be held over the coming days, involving leaders from all over Mundus.

Coleman won by a convincing margin, with over 70% of the vote. Andrew Brosnan attracted most of the remaining 30%. Paul Garret received a very small portion of the vote. Coleman and Brosnan earned an overwhelming majority of the vote in their home areas, reflecting their heavy involvement in the respective regions during the recent conflict.

Only around a half of total Dyfedian voters managed to vote. This has been attributed to significant areas not under control. Well over 95% of voters in secure areas went to the polls, reflecting enthusiasm for the return of democracy. Coleman expressed his disappointment that citizens of Buckley were not included in the vote.

The Constitution was not voted on, unlike planned, as the drafting process is ongoing, but Coleman has assured it will be voted on in the upcoming legislative elections.

Coleman has expressed excitement, and said he looks forward to implementing more reform, now he knows he has voter approval.

Rokkenjiman Ducat adopted as transitional currency.
Today the government confirmed that the Rokkenjiman Ducat is to be used in Dyfedia as a transitional currency. Trading until now has been largely in WARSAW Rubles, but Dyfedia has announced its intention to distance itself from the WARSAW Alliance, and also claimed the WARSAW Ruble was unreliable and made them vulnerable to leverage from nations still using the currency, including Thomradia and the USR.

Large batches of printed Rokkenjiman Ducats are being shipped to Thomradia, and will be exchangeable at Government Operated Exchange booths. The WARSAW Ruble will continue to be accepted as legal tender until the 11th of November, in a fortnight.

Ronald Coleman said that an independent Dyfedian Currency had been floated, but was not a priority.

Rokkenjiman Frigates to complement Dyfedian Navy
It was announced today that four Frigates of the Imperial Rokkenjiman Navy had been donated to Dyfedia. Ronald Coleman took the opportunity to formally inaugurate the Free Dyfedian Navy, saying that the donated vessels would form the core of the navy. Although outdated within the Rokkenjiman navy, the vessels are technologically superior to the assorted Thomradian vessels currently in Dyfedian hands.

The four ships, the IRF Intrepid, IRF Monitor, IRF Serendipity, and IRF Pegasus will retain their current names, but will receive the prefix 'FDS' - Free Dyfedian Ship.

Dyfedian Government Commissions Presidential liner
Continuing on with the Maratime theme, it was announced today that a ocean liner had been commissioned as the Dyfedian Presidential Liner. The vessel will act as refuge, transport and accommodation for the President during travel, particualarly overseas. The vessel, which spans around 90 metres, will be built in the shipbuilding yards in the city of Dyfedia, previously largely used only for military manufacturing, with construction expected to begin my December. The government has not announced whether the ship will be named.

Dyfedia pulls off huge upset against Trade Republic of Transvaal
The Dyfedian national Football team has pulled off an incredible 2-1 defeat of Transvaal in Achkaerin. Despite the team only being formed for then world cup, and this game being its first match, the self described 'bunch of misfits' managed to topple Transvaal in a gruelling 90 minute match.

Only one member of the Dyfedian team has previously competed in an international sporting fixture (for Thomradia), and only 10 of the squad of 15 have previously played football at a professional level. Coach Rhys Harris has said it shows that Dyfedia has a great potential future in football, despite it having historically been overshadowed by other codes such as Rugby. Dyfedia entered the tournament with odds of only 66/1, better than only Rokkenjima, yet now there is even talk of potentially reaching the knockout stages of the competition, despite heavyweight and competition favourite Quinntopia being in the same group.

The team plays Dartfordia tomorrow.

Dyfedian 'North Bank' to be designated as 'cultural precinct'
The Department of Culture today announced plans to designate large areas of Northern Dyfedia as the cultural precinct of the city. The area hopes to become a hub for cultural activity, enriching and bringing to prominance Dyfedian culture.

The precinct, part of the Government's plan to increase awareness in interest in Dyfedian culture, will include an Art Gallery, Museum, Performing Arts Theatre (music hall and theatre) and the State Library. The area will be largely developed with these buildings integrated with a large parkland area. It is expected to be popular among both tourists and locals.

Qhelm to become Island Memorial
The Government made further steps regarding it's cultural awareness plan, designating the island of Qhelm, south-west of Dyefedia, a site for a museum and memorial. The island will house a large monument to commemorate those whom lost their lives at the hands of the Thomradian regime, as well as a museum with artifacts and stories about the history of Thomradia and the atrocities it committed along with the WARSAW alliance.

The island of Qhelm, despite it's negligible size, rose to infamy after being claimed by Thomradian political dissident, John Wottoon. The government has assured the public the move was by no means an endorsement of the Borland cause, but simply to recognize the violent massacre of John Wottoon and his supporters. The move comes only days after the East Moreland navy destroyed High Rock in a move similar to that of the Thomradian government, albeit with no suspected casualties.

USR assets spotted in southern Thomradia, USR in lockdown. Military relocates to border
Military Intelligence today reported that USR military assets had been sighted engaging Thomradian government forces in eastern Dyfedia. It is not believed at present that they have engaged with Dyfedian forces, but the act has brought into question the USR-Thomradian alliance. Some believe the USR capitalized on the weakness of Thomradian to pursue expansion, but it is still debated if and why the USR would betray it's stern ally.

A suspicious edition of the Pravda published yesterday announced the beginning of a curfew, which some have taken as a sign of instability in the USR. It comes after waning regulations of the Soviet State Media, which culminated in an extremely critical bulletin published earlier this week, criticizing the warmongering and foreign policy of the alleged communist state.

In a statement published today, the government announced it was monitoring the situation in the USR carefully, and had moved significant military assets towards the east, where it is believed Soviet troops are active. Minister of Defence Andrew Brosnan claimed "The USR is a far greater threat to the security of Dyfedia than Thomradia could ever pose. We are monitoring the situation carefully and hope we can avoid conflict with the USR. Diplomats have reached out to the USR to try and identify the nature of their assets in the region.
Joint Akari Space Mission Announced
Today it was confirmed that Dyfedia and Rokkenjima would partake in a joint Akari Mission to try and salvage the Spetsnaz Space Station. The controversial space station was advertised as a scientific research platform, but was suspected of being military in nature. 3 astronauts, 1 from Dyfedia and two from Rokkenjima will travel aboard an Akari spacecraft in an ambitious attempt to assess and if necessary salvage then space station. It is not yet confirmed as to whether future missions are planned to make further use of the station.

International Arms Deals to be Pursued
It was announced today that the Government is pursuing arms deals with various nations around Mundus. It was confirmed that then government was investigating purchasing aircraft from East Moreland as well as obsolete vessels from South Hills. The details of the deals are yet to be confirmed, but are expected to be detailed within the coming week. They will see a much stronger, patchwork Dyfedian armed forces which is hopefully well equipped to deal with regional threats such as the USR. The deal has been criticized by some as wasting money better spent on developing the country, and by others as weakening Dyfedia with an outdated military.

Naval Arms Deal with South Hills Ratified
Today a deal was confirmed, which would see 9 Greenock Class Frigates purchased from South Hills, for a total of 3 billion South Hills Dollars. Despite being a relatively old vessel, the vessels have been retrofitted to make them capable of matching the vessels of most major navies. It is hoped the move will strengthen Dyfedia's navy dramatically and allow it to secure it's regional position. The government has emphasised this move is a purchase, not an inheritance and the vessels are by no means obsolete.

Achkaein win nail-biting world cup final
Achkaerin today emerged victorious an a tense grand final, bringing to a close what has been an exciting and fiercely contested world cup. In a largely defensive match, Achkaerin was able to claim the world cup, on home soil, winning by a single goal. The entire first half was scoreless, with the breakthrough goal being scored by Achkaein captain Robert Kinnay, in the 62nd minute, and the hosts were able to defend their lead for the remaining third of the match. Dartfordia is said to be very disappointed with their performance.

Robert Kinnay of Achkaerin scores the decisive goal, in the 62nd minute

Despite Dyfedia entering a largely inexperienced team, and not progressing past the group stage, the world cup was followed by a lot of eager Dyfedians, keen to pursue interest in the sport. A largely amatuer team, with only one player having international experience, Dyfedia managed to defeat Transvaal 2-1, as well as pull off one-all draws with football heavyweights and defending champions Quinntopia twice, finishing third in Group D, which is claimed to bode well for the future of football in Dyfedia.

Rokkenjima-Transvaal Deal to see return of Illumic Stability?
Rokkenjima and her Tripartite allies have reached a landmark agreement with Transvaal, which defines terms for the continued presence of Rokkenjima's warships in the Illmuic Channel. The terms, which reportedly satisfy both nations should see a decrease in tension in the region, which has historically been a very unstable region. The following temrs were reached.

Dyfedian Rowers end disappointing week at IO games
Dyfedia's rowers are yet to earn a medal at the IO Games, continuing a downward trend that has seen Dyfedia's medal tally stagnate since earlier in the week. Despite topping the medal table on day 2, poor performances in weightlifting, shooting, gymnastics. Particularly disappointing is the performance thus far of Dyfedian rowers. Despite the tradtitional prestige attribued to the sport, not a single medal has been earned, despite rigorous training and high expectations. Furthermore, in only two events did Dyfedia's rowers finish in the top 6.

Gareth Halfpenny will also contest third place in the bronze medal match tomorrow, however the women's tennis players have under performed, none progressing past the round of 16. Much is riding on these few remaining chances, and it is hoped that they can salvage Dyfedia's sporting reputation.

Government Responds to Worldwide 'Day of Terror'
A statement was today released by president Ronald Coleman responding to the devastating wave of terrorist attacks that have recently occurred all around Mundus, in East Moreland, Dartfordia, Rokkenjima, Seaforth and Achkaerin. Noting the multinational targets of the attacks, Coleman reminded people that Dyfedia was not safe, and reminded people to be vigilant and alert.

Quote:

To begin with, I'd like to offer my sincere condolences for all victims of these senseless acts of violence, as well as offer support to all the nations currently reeling from this heinous acts of cowardice. Dyfedia stands by you in this difficult time, and offers any support it can provide to nations affected. Dyfedia stands by all affected nations in defiance against these heartless terrorists. Violent terrorism is not justified by any cause, nationalism or religion, and Dyfedia shall not succumb to terror threats. We hope to work alongside affected nations to play a part in ensuring regional security in the wake of these devastating occurrences. As our own region grows increasingly stable, it is important to remember that the rest of the world does not necessarily share in our good fortune. I refer to of course the Illumic, where a church backed military junta continues to control seaforth, and where a naval blockade against Transvaal is entering it's fifth month. I refer to Northern Ardia, where the rouge state Zachachevania continues to angrily and arrogantly threaten his neighbours, claiming stewardship of the defunt WARSAW alliance.

Mundus is going increasingly stable, and Dyfedia has an obligation to help aid stability, and reciprocate the aid so generously given to use during our difficult past. That being said, I must emphasized Dyfedia is by no means safe from the actions of radicals such as these. I urge everyone to remain vigilant, alert, and to report any suspicious actions to authority. Together we can ensure the security of our nation.

Again, my heart goes out in solidarity to the friends, families, colleagues and countrymen of the victims of these atrocities, and I pray that Ergos may guide us to bringing the perpetrators to justice

The Dyfedian national terror alert has been raised to 'High'[1], giving authorities emergency powers should a situation arise. Shows of support for the nations impacted have occurred nationwide, and then attacks have been widely condemned.
