I believe there was a thread about this somewhere...but I couldn't find it. I had thought about starting some sport events in Ndambia, both national and international. For now I think I'll start with tennis (because it's a sport we probably know, including myself, and easy to manage), and if it is successful, maybe we could try others. My first idea was creating an international tournament in Ndambia, where Mundus players were invited. But if enough people are interested, maybe we could try some international system, like ATP and WTA in real life, similar to the F1 Mundus here. I wouldn't mind to manage the whole system, if needed. Before the details of the system is established, you can reply in this thread, saying if you're interested to participate in either of the two models proposed. And any other idea or thought you've about it, of course. |

The aforementioned sports thread I have been working on the sports front specifically on a sort of 'calendar' i.e. trying to establish what sporting events we currently have and making various additions- one of them being possibly two or three tennis tournaments (similar to the grand slams of RL) so I'm quite happy to see this thread and would participate. We may also want to start thinking about a second attempt at an IC idea Dijel had a few months ago. |

Well, this what I thought so far. Following Achkaerin's suggestion, I think we could have four big international championship, one per continent. So we'd have:
But if Dave or Gladshack are not interested, we could have just three championship, I suppose. I had several ideas to have a system more or less balanced:
I don't mind to manage the whole system. I thought about having a championship per month (or maybe three weeks). At the end of the year, we could have a ranking through a system of points and, maybe, have a final championships between the best ranking players, like the Masters' Cup. Meanwhile any other suggestions are welcomed, of course. Edited by Ndambia, 20th November 2014 - 10:24 PM.

Just some thoughts on what I've read- I like the idea of trying to get four grand slam style events and I would quite happily have one in Achkaerin- that event would be played on grass. As for surface bonuses that's a good idea since for example any Achkaerin player would be good on the grass since that's the surface that dominates my country, however they wouldn't be so good on the clay. It may also be worth considering play styles. I'll give it a little more thought and we'll see what possibilities mesh together. |

Thomradia is largely gone, but I would be happy to host one in Dyfedia, which would probably be on a synthetic court, but since Ach is hosting if there is no room for a second in Coft Aranye then I'll stay out.

Basic rules so far: Each championship would be played in a different kind of surface. For purposes of simplicity, I've limited them to four: clay, grass, hardcourt, indoor.
Every player would belong to category, related with the kind of surface:
What does that mean? The results would be decided by a random system, but some small variations:
I'll create these models for applications of both players and tournaments. Template for players
Applications for championships:
Example: Spoiler: click to toggle Any nation who will apply at least one player will have automatically their national tennis association as an official member of our fictional Mundus Federation of Tennis Associations [suggestions of a better name are accepted]. If no changes are decided, I'll create a thread on Sunday/Monday in order to start applications. If anyone wants to apply for one of the four permanent championships (one per continent) can be applied here. I thought that the first ones from Albion and Alba Karinya to post here their applications could be granted the continental tournament, if that sounds fair enough. |

Seems fair enough from what I can make out- I'll wait for the application thread before throwing a couple of players per gender and my championship (grand slam) at it- and I'll be calling dibs on Wimbledon as a location.

This all looks fantastic to me! I definitely hope to be involved. Just wondering, if Achkaerin is holding a grand slam is it not possible for Dyfedia to host one? I'd also like to call dibs on the National Tennis Centre in Melbourne for my location.

As Alba Karinya has only two nations, yes, I suppose they could be considered part of Western Coft Aranye and have another one for Eastern Coft Aranye nations. |

Sure, Jeziel. Only that Achkaerin also declared his intention of having his tournament on clay surface, and I thought it would be more balanced if there are a tournament for each kind of surface: grass, clay, hardcourt, indoor. Personally, I don't mind so you and Thom are free to agree which one you will prefer for your own championship. So right now we would have: Ardia - Ndambia: indoor Alba Karinya/Western Coft Aranye - Achkaerin: grass Eastern Coft Aranye - Dyfedia: hardcourt Albion - Allied Separatists: clay I created the thread on the RP subforum: http://w11.zetaboards.com/Independent_Order_NS/topic/10764709/ You can post here your application, so the basic information about your championships could be included in the first message. Do applications go in that thread, or PM? And I was hoping to have Dyfedia on hardcourt but if anyone else wants it I'm happy to change. Also, wasn't Achkaerin's on grass?

You're right. I edited my message. Then the four surfaces are decided, without need of further changes.
