Go to google and click on the logo, and you will see the current results. Or just take this link: https://www.google.com/search?num=40&safe=active&q=Election+results&oi=ddle&ct=us-elections-2014-5687179812536320&hl=en&biw=1366&bih=728&dpr=1 As of now, the Republicans have a slight lead in the Senate, a major lead in the House, and a moderate lead in state governors. The two Kansas senators appear to be independents. |

We kind of got lucky this election. I mean, when district borders were drawn at the last census for house elections, the way the lines were drawn seemed to favor the Republicans. The Democrats held Senate since the last 2 years of Bush Jr's Presidency, but this year the races became a lot closer, giving the Republicans the lead in this race. I'm surprised. The Democrats usually have an infallible strategy: http://thefederalistpapers.integratedmarket.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/D-Slaves-600-CI.jpg Edited by Great Jonathania, 5th November 2014 - 02:01 AM.

I'm pretty sure the lines are drawn to specifically favour the Republicans (and the Democrats, too). Most notably ato prevent the rise of any pesky third parties |

Of course Republicans have the usual strategy of blaming the poor and disenfranchised for all the ills which befall the United States, preferring to cut social spending to maintain an insane military budget while also making Social Security insolvent by continually "borrowing" from it. Republicans have been screwing the American people over since the days of Reagan's 'trickle-down' economics, yet people don't seem to make the connection yet. When our schools are being boarded up because of funding cuts and our children continue to rank lower when compared to foreign students perhaps the message will get through. Of course education isn't the only area which is gutted to fund the Republican's military-first values. Health care and services which actually help everyday ordinary Americans are also a favourite target. At least we got rid of Corbett, though. Go Pennsylvania!

This is a highly liberal region. For that reason, I avoid talking politics here at all costs. You guys gang up on poor lonely semi-conservatives like me.

Thanks, but no thanks. I'm sure it's great, but I voted already and I don't have any desire to get sucked into partisanship again until 2016. (In other words: I'm a dud... and I don't pay any attention to political ads.) Edited by Tytor, 5th November 2014 - 03:01 AM.

Well im from British Columbia Canada were our Liberals are actually conservatives the Conservatives are actually Liberal no one really knows what the New Democratic Parties stance really is. The only Party that speaks relative reason is the Green Party who never get elected because its perceived as a wasted vote and they dont have big business supporting them like the other parties so there relative awareness is unfortunately minimal.

It'll certainly be interesting (or frustrating) to see how our government works now. Or doesn't work, which wouldn't really be a change either way.

Republicans don't dislike immigrants. Just people who immigrated without going through the legal processes.
