Two days ago the revolutionary heroes of Vendosia have finally freed the people from the evil and oppressing dictator, that was Samuel Somoza. After several weeks of intense combat in the Mendoza capital region the last remnants of the former army, a tool for violent tyranny, could be overcome at last. The dictator itself has been captured and is detained, awaiting his trial for the crimes he has done to his people. Though some members of the Somoza dynasty managed to escape the grasp of the revolution, Vendosia was declared a nation free of the shackles of the past. To celebrate the liberation of the people the 14th of december was declared a national holiday. The Revolutionary Party of Vendosia will shortly form a new goverment, said a official spokesman.

New Government formed The, now defunct, People's Liberation Alliance has formed a new provisional government for Vendosia. All cabinet positions have been assigned to heroes of the revolution, while the leader of the PLA, Iván Casas, has been appointed president by the quickly assembled People's council. The next elections have been scheduled for the 25th of december 2015. In his inaugural oration the president reassured his fellow man that the new government will swiftly and efficiently tackle the big economic problems of the country.  Hail the Vendosian Liberator Iván Casas!

Fascist Dictator's son spotted in Novincia? While the dictator Somoza, defeated by the people's mighty hand, still awaits his final sentence by the, yet to be elected, Chief Judge, his son Manuel Somoza, was allegedly spotted in Novincia. "Although our sources weren't precise and my agency couldn't fortify these statements until now, we take these reports very seriously. I can assure the vendosian people that, if any of our agents meet him, we will shoot on sight." said a member of the Agency for the Protection of the People (APP).  Manuel Somoza in front of the war criminals of the former army Vendosia's population can only hope, that such a dire threat to the freedom of the people around the world can be eliminated. Alas, he is not the only member of the Somoza-dynasty left alive as there are still three children of the former dictator on the run from justice. The president has promised to do everything in his power to catch these war criminals. |

New foreign policy made public The vendosian minister for foreign affairs, Christian da Rosa, held an official speech today, stating the new orientation in diplomacy. "From now on we won't look down upon other people and other nations because they have instituted other representations, governments or systems." A keystone of this new direction is the Maistre-doctrine. It is named after a french diplomat from the 19th century who famously said "Every nation has the government it deserves." This new ideological relaxation has become necessary, as working together with capitalist nations has become unavoidable. However minister da Rosa has also stated that "This does not mean that we will tolerate oppressive, fascist or any other government that is violating human rights. We are still determined to help any people who are being suppressed by reactionary forces anywhere in the world, even with force where necessary. But we will not argue that any political system that makes it's citizens happy is bad." |

After some hard times after the revolution the minister of industry and agriculture, Walter Moyano, has announced today that the vendosian Rouble and the economy at large have greatly stabilized. "We can even register a historic trade surplus of more than 3.000.000.000 vendosian rouble" said the minister."But this is not only a strong sign for the will and determination of the hard-working vendosian people, but also a sign of gratitude and solidarity that our fellow nations have so kindly shown us. Without the foreign contracts for the vendosian economy, especially those for the arms industry, it might have collapsed entirely." |

Mendoza Harbour Massacre Memorial Day Today is the second annual memorial day for the victims of the Mendoza Harbour Massacre. Two years ago a peaceful demonstration in the harbour of Mendoza was assaulted by a battalion of the presidential guard of the dictator Somoza. The protesters, that had assembled on the famous Mendoza harbour steps, were chased down to the docks where they came under fire from several APC's. The terrified survivors were pushed into the basin by the governmental troops.  The Mendoza harbour steps The demonstration had assembled around nine o'clock on the top of the stairs, where several speeches were held by different political leaders. Only three hours later the crowd had grown to approximately 34000 people. Around four o'clock in the evening the troops began their attack. The speaker at the time, Carlos Alcántera, suffered a bullet wound in the shoulder and was later imprisoned. 5678 people were killed by gunshots, another 3498 wounded. It is estimated that more than 4000 protesters drowned in the harbour on this fatal day. He was accompanied by minister Alcántera who expressed his hatred for the reactionary forces in the world and assured the listeners that Somoza and his family will receive their rightful punishment. Fahrland slaps the face of justice! After Manuel Somoza's presence in the nation of Fahrland was ascertained by the noble APP, the government has sent an plea in order to arrange his extradition. Today the Chancellor of Fahrland has rejected this request. "This is a knockdown blow for all Vendosians who are striving for justice. Chief Judge elected Yesterday the High Council of Justice has finally elected a Chief Judge. Karla Lupida, as is her name, promised to fulfill all the duties and challenges, that will come with the job, with extraordinary thoroughness. Now that the Chief Judge has been elected the trial of Ex-dictator can begin at last. New PRF-division! Commandante Supremo Alvaro Tardáguila has announced today, that the Army will cooperate with the Airforce in order to form a new division, the 1st Paracaidistas. The troops in this new unit will be specialized in air drops, including HALO-jumps and helicopter-to-surface landings. The General staff hopes to achieve a greater mobility through the paratroopers. |

Radical Reforms or contra-revolutionary riots? The leader of an influential political think tank, and member of the Social democratic fraction of the People's Socialist Party, Aguila Martinéz, has started a campaign called "New Democracy". He states the goals as following:"We want a total reform of the political system. A new constitution, new ministeries and new administratives. The systems put in place after the revolution might have been very effective for a short time, but we think that we need to adjust our society for long-term sucess." Supporters of the campaign can sign the "New Democracy"-Petition in any offical government office, military base, police station or in any of the movements offices. Criminal Captain captured! The captain of the PRNS Spartakus, that is currently beating about in the coastal waters of Zimalia in an humanitarian mission, was apprehended yesterday by members of his own crew. The governmental officials had given out an arrest warrant for him, when it became obvious that he was involved in illegal arms trade with criminals in Zimalia. As the loyal soldiers aboard the Spartakus accused him of his crimes a fight broke out, in which the captain and several officers, presumabely linked to felony, were wounded. The Spartakus will receive a new commander shortly. The captain of the ship was a member of the old reactionary navy under Dictator Somoza and joined the ranks after the revolution. His misdeeds are a sign to all Vendosians that watchfulness is the only effective weapon against such agitators. |

New Democracy came through! The "New Democracy"-campaign of Aguila Martinéz has received overwhelming support from the population. 56 million people signed the corresponding petition. The government has formed a reform commission together with the social-democratic Fraction and Martinéz in order to conduct the major changes, that will extend to many aspects of vendosian live. "New Democracy" does not only mean an improved political system with more participation from the people, but also new military organisations. Elections on Sunday As the "New Democracy"-reforms change the governmental structure of our dear fatherland so deeply, the current constellations can not be adequately transfered to the new system. Therefore elections have been scheduled for Sunday, the eight of march. President Casas thanked the population for their endured support and ensured that the elections would be free and independent. Terror in Mendoza Three subsequent terror attacks have caused the death of 87 vendosian workers in Mendoza today. Police reported that all of the attacks were bombings, but that all of them took place in relative irrelevant places. Some experts claim that the damage caused to the city's infrastructure was minor, as the capable security forces of Mendoza have prevented the situation from getting worse. The Mendoza Capital Region is in high alert and residents are ordered to listen and obey to any announcements from the Emergency Loudspeaker System. |

Election Results After a long and exciting elections Sunday, the votes have finally been counted. The elections could be finished without any disturbance or further terrorist attacks. The chief of police has thanked the policemen and citizens for their watchfulness and the courage that they have shown for the realization of democracy, as the turnout was very high around 91%. The seats in the National Parliament are now divided as follows: The People's Socialist Party 42% The Social Democratic Party 26% The Party for enviromental Protection 16% The Radical Party 11% The Liberal Party of Vendosia 5% The Party of the german Minority and the Party for National Unity have not made it over the 5% treshold and therefore are not represented in the Parliament. Supreme Representative elected, begin of military reorganisation! Yesterday the National Assembly has elected Aguila Martinéz as the Supreme Representative of our dear nation Vendosia. The great reformer is now responsible for the international representation of our people, the signing of new laws and the general oversight of the political well-being of the nation. Although he does not have any specific powers, he shall be a important person in public life. With the election of the Supreme Representative the second phase of the New Democracy Reforms has begun. Now that the societal changes are complete the military reorganisation will commence. In two weeks the whole vendosian military will be more organized, better equipped and slightly more powerful. (OOC: This is basically the IC explanation for introducing my own vendosian models into the army, that will replace all real-world models. Since not many of the weapons are a perfect counterpart the army may be a little bit stronger. That's why I have decided to announce this two weeks in advance.) |

New "Duty to Serve"-bill passed Following a proposal of the new Minister of Outer Defense General Marquez, that was supported by General Koldor, the Minister of Inner Defense and the President, the National Parliament and the National Council have passed a new bill today that extends the Duty to Serve our fatherland. New recruits have to serve four years in the PRF, respectively six years in a police force or a fire department. Alternatively it is possible to serve eight years in the TRU. |

National build up! The National Cabinet has announced today that the PRF will receive a massive upgrade in the weeks and months to come. It is planned to achieve a final strength of two to three million standing soldiers, with another two being in reserves or the National Guard. These plans for the future were revealed by the president in front of the capitol building around 12 o clock. He said, besides other things: The military has always been of great importance for our nation, for without the necessary means of protection there is nothing that has the right to call itself a nation. We have achieved great things since la revolución; we have removed the shackles of the past and freed the workers from the exploitation of the capitalist classes, without losing our economic strength. Indeed we have even managed to improve our collective economic situation and made our island one of the few economic powerhouses of the world, while new minimum wages and adjusted quotas make sure that this new wealth benefits every member of our society. But our improvements in other areas are not proceeding proportionally. We are a nation of 117 million citizens, yet we have less than a million soldiers to protect the collective. This is unacceptable and I and my government are promising you to change that. The new Duty to Serve bill and New Democracy have cleared the way for a reincarnation of the armed forces. Venceremos! The People's Eye will shortly issue a detailed plan, when the individual divisions will be drafted. All affected citizens will receive a letter from the Ministry of Outer Defense, describing their duties in the following draft. Those who do not appear at time, will be called with the loudspeaker system three times. Anyone who avoids his duties after this warning will be apprehended by the National Police Force and handed over to the PRF. |

Our Panzers - Our Pride! From the fires of the People's Revolutionary Weapon Production Plant comes a new generation of tanks. The two Middle Battle Tanks and the Heavy Battle Tank "Bear" received a series of incremental upgrades, making them even more capable of defending vendosian soil. Below you can see the changes in detail on the example of the Wolf MBT-1.  First the changes specifically for the Wolf: The 120mm main cannon was changed into a less bulky version, allowing for more ammunition storage space in the main turret, while keeping the same caliber. Additionally a 15mm remotely operated machinegun, previously only present on the Lynx was installed on the main turret, aswell as a Armored Shield for the rear machinegunner. Then there are the more general changes that all upgraded tanks share. The rear received additional protection through Slat Armor and the vulnerable sides were plastered with reactive armor tiles. All tanks have been equipped with Smoke aswell as Chaff grenades, that should obscure vision, aswell as heat and radio signatures of the vehicles enough to escape tricky situations out on the battlefield. The Secondary Turrets on all tank models have also been exchanged for the new model. It has lost the ability to swap it's main weapon and is now restricted to the 20mm gun, but to compensate the turret now comes with an MG97, significantly improving the fighting capabilites against light targets and infantry. The turret also received a own hatch to allow for the escape of the gunner in case of emergency. The last change is the Infantry Support System or ISS. It consists of first aid and supply boxes, aswell as intercoms for communication between infantry and the crew of the tank. These are mounted in small cabinets on the left front and the rear of the vehicles. Further details on the new models may be found in the new issue of the People's Encyclopedia of Vendosia under the "Military Equipment made in Vendosia" section. The process of fitting the older tank models with these changes should take approximately two to three weeks, while tanks that are newly build will already leave the factory with them. Lacuna-Maneuver has begun Vendosian Hind's of the DFF waiting for deployment in the hinterland The maneuver that simulates a invasion of Lacuna Island has officially begun. To this point only light aircraft skyrmishes have been reported, but the fights are surely going to intensify, especially when the main invasion force, comprised of South Hills and Vendosian troops makes it's attack. It seems like the two sides are still engaged in patting each other down, but the main vendosian relief force is already on it's way to the island. All three vendosian armies are accompanied by competent reporters of The People's Eye, so stay tuned for the freshest reports right from the "combat zone". |

General Marquez assassinated! The Minister of Outer Defense and war hero General Marquez has died in Mendoza today. After he had lunch in the "La fijora"-restaurant in the historic district his limousine was rammed by a military vehicle, killing his bodyguards and heavily injuring him. The perpetrator or the perpetrators proceeded by shooting the General with an automatic weapon. Because 13 of the fired 15 shots hit police suspects the incident to be a professional and planned assassination. A burned out Camion was found in the area, which is assumed to be the used vehicle. The president has personally assigned the National Police Force to the investigation and ordered five days of national mourning, after which a new minister will be named. The Council of Marshals has decided that Field-Marshal Ulani will assume supreme command for the interim time. |

Two shot dead by famous unionist The widely known unionist Amanda Valenciano is wanted by the police for double murder, after two bodies, one male one female, were found in her flat in north Mendoza. Neighbours called the police after they heard gunfire. At the moment it seems like the female body was her presumed lover, while the male is still not identified. He carried no ID or other means of identification. The police presumes that the deed was done out of morbid jealousy and that Amanda suprised the two victims while they were having sex in Valenciano's flat. The NPF have appealed to the public for their assistance in finding Valenciano. She is presumabely armed and dangerous, citizens are advised to avoid contact and immediately call the police when she is spotted. The first Infantry Division has erected control posts around Mendoza to prevent the escape of this dangerous criminal and apologises for the inconvenience. |

Order is restored! After days of dangerous uncertainty order has been restored by General Koldor and the loyalist forces. Most of the traitors have been chased out of the country, but the new government under President Koldor wants to remind all citizens: "Be Vigilant! The worms of betrayal are still between us. They seek to destroy everything we love and care for. They want to kill our children and rape our loved ones. We will not allow this! Report any suspicious behaviour to your nearest APP-agent, policemen or member of the armed forces." The noble National Front of Socialists has been elected by the people of Vendosia and the President has announced that the approval for the party was so high, that further political parties are no longer necessary. "Parties only represent the disruption of a nation, Vendosia stands united. We will fight our enemies together, without having to hear the lies of foreign fiends." Franz Miller, the new Minister of Inner Defense said. To prevent the poisoning of vendosian minds through the trickiness of the enemies of the people, both domestic and abroad, President Koldor has installed a new Ministry of Information, Propaganda and Agitation, that will publish safe and true material for the populace, aswell as ensure that harmful media gets destroyed. |

Military recruitment newly organized The planned mobilization of several divisions of the army on the 15th of May did not occur as planned, since the main registration office in Mendoza was burned down in the attempted coup of Ex-President Casas. Therefore the Ministry of Outer Defense has decided to revisit the old plans in general. Minister Ulani said that:"We will not only evaluate the plans of the former government, but also the recruitment at large. Perhaps we will need to change the mobilisation plans, maybe we will even cancel some of the recruitments." Rumors in the army speculate over the nature of the Ministry's evaluation. Many say that it is planned to introduce new tank models from the third generation in the newly mobilised divisions. |

Rokkenjima disagrees with the people of Nueva Ardia The nation of Rokkenjima continues to dispute the righteousness of the Nueva Ardian government under the sublime Prince-Regent Abran Penultimo. Despite the referendum in the nation allied with Vendosia seeing a approval rate for the Principality of 68% the Rokkenjiman government and it's so-called "Empress" do not want to recognize the nation's government as it's people's legal representation. The hypocrisy of these functionaries showed it's ugly face when their government openly called the election results for the Security Council representative of their region, which saw Nueva Ardia and South Hills winning, a "wasted opportunity". In the same comment given by the nation's Premier he complains how "a nation which was involved with every step of the formation of the Commonwealth Treaty Organisation and its predecessor, one which has been committed consistently to international peace, stability, and equality and one which has lent its strength to the weakest among us we have instead elected a nation recently emerging from domestic turmoil which has real questions about its legitimacy and a nation which has shown inconsistent interest in bettering the international community." It seems like Rokkenjima only acknowledges election results that favor the country's corrupt industrials and nobles. The vendosian Minister of Outer Defense had the following to say about Rokkenjima's paddy: "This whole affair is increasingly troubling to us. It would be quite amusing to see little children have a rage attack at every little thing that doesn't go according to their will, but sadly these children control one of the largest militaries in the world. The international community has to ask itself if the exposed, nearly power monopolistic, status of Rokkenjima can be allowed to continue existing in it's current form, since it's government seems to be uncapable of not intervening in other nation's sovereignty. The peoples of Mundus can not be completely free under these circumstances, no matter what southern propaganda dictates." |

Rokkenjima supports the facists! It might have been obvious for the citizens following world politics, but the Rokkenjimans seem to have supported the attempted coup of President Casas from the very beginning. The Rokkenjiman Broadcasting Corporation, a tool for the propaganda of southern capitalists and the "Empress", reported today that it's government would recognize the so-called "government in exile", that the putschists have set up in Dartfordia, an ally of Rokkenjima. Despite the fact that president Casas was the only member of the old Cabinet with some democratic legitimation, the surviving traitors have now named the former Minister of Economy, Walter Moyano, President. The quick recognization of this government together with the fact that the position of the elected President Koldor wasn't even considered clearly shows the connections between the putschists and the foreign großcapital. A spokesperson of the Ministry of Inner Defense said: "Our investigations went into this direction for a long time, but now that Rokkenjima showed it's face so clearly it becomes more and more clear that there has been support for the coup of President Casas. The Empire always had ambitions to be just that, an Empire. In their eyes a democratic government on some island in the north is just a pawn sacrifice to strengthen their grip on the world. The pace at which the Empress throws lifes away to fortify her nation's position of power is highly troubling, not only from a strategic but also a ethnical standpoint." New plans for recruitment After the Ministry of Outer Defense has evaluated the situation it drafted a new plan for the recruitment and expansion process of the Military, recently renamed Protectora. The existing divisions will receive new armored vehicles from the third generation of vendosian tanks and it will be attempted to sell the older models on the world market. Furthermore the creation of 5 new Stormtrooper-Divisions, 5 new Tank-Divisions, 2 Heavily Armored Divisions and 10 Infantry-Divisions was announced. While the Infantry-Divisions should be ready for combat on the 10 of June, since preparations for new Infantry units have already been made before the fire in the main registration office, the rest will presumably ready around the 20 of June. Besides this expansion the Armada has made public that it will commence construction of new ships sometime next month. The Thunderstorm didn't comment on the acquisition of new aircraft, but stated that the airforce is underequipped anyway, so that further purchases, maybe from Nueva Ardia, are not inprobable. |

Just two things of which you must beware: Don't drink the water and don't breathe the air. Pollution, Pollution they've got smog and sewage and mud, turn on the tap and get hot and cold running crud. See the halibuts and the sturgeons being wiped out by detergents. Fish gotta swim and birds got to fly, but they don't last long if the try. Pollution, Pollution you can use the latest tooth paste and then rinse your mouth with industrial waste. Just go out for a breath of air and you'll be ready for medicare. The city streets are really quite a thrill, if the hoods don't get you the monoxide will. Pollution, Pollution, use a gas mask and a veil then you can breathe, as long as you don't inhale. Lots of things there that you can drink, but stay away from the kitchen sink. Throw out your breakfast garbage and I've got a hunch that the folks downstream will drink it for lunch. So go to Rokkenjima, see the crazy people there. Like lambs to the slaugther they're drinking the water and breathing the air. Rokkenjiman Diplomacy If someone makes a move of which we don't approve, who is it that always intervenes? CTO and IDS they have their place I guess. But first: Send the marines! What do we do? Communication is Conflict, WLan is War The Parliament has agreed upon a new law today, that takes effect immediately. The act allows the Ministry of Information, Agitation and Propaganda to carefully control and censor all foreign media sources publishing or broadcasting in Vendosia. The monitoring of the Internet is also included in the law. One member of the Parliament had the following to say, concerning the act: "This day is one of celebration for all Vendosians. No longer will foreign enemies be able to poison the minds of our children. No longer will we have to listen to Rokkenjiman hybris, or putschistic aggression. Today marks the end of the mental oppression by the south, and the birth of a new kind of Vendosian: Free, proud and strong. Adelante!" Jens Voigt, the minister of Information, Agitation and Propaganda announced that he will instruct his subordinates to be extraodinarily careful about censorship. "Only because we have the right to obstruct foreign broadcasting, doesn't mean that we will touch the freedom of information. I pledge that only information that is a direct threat to national security will be censored. My Ministry will work very closely with the President to ensure that this new piece of law is used cautiously, but to it's full extent." |

The vendosian will remains unbroken Today, on the 20th of June, the next big step in rearming our great fatherland has been completed. Hundreds of tanks have left the factories and are now ready to fight the enemies of the people. Hundreds of Thousands of vendosian warriors have been recruited, trained and were equipped with the finest equipment that the world has to offer. To celebrate this bright day for Vendosia the Feldsturm organized the biggest military parade that ever took place on our island. Uncountable numbers of soldiers and civilians came to the Capitol Plaza, there the now demolished government building used to stand, and watched the event, there 20 divisions showed of their vehicles and weapons. In other news the Sea- and Air-Marshals have announced that their branches of service are both working on new developments. While the Armada seems to be planning new vessels to be deployed over the next months, the Thunderstorm seems to be undecided if it should procure new aircraft abroad, or construct some in Vendosia. If they would choose the latter, these would be the first aircraft developed in-country. |

Dark clouds over Vendosian Economy? The Ministry of Economy, Energy and Infrastructure recently published it's quarterly expectations for the vendosian economy. According to the report the future might be more problematic than thought, as the embargos of Terror from the south begin to have an effect on the economy of our fatherland. Minister Miguel Indurain had the following to say:"I don't think our economy was directly dependent on our relations with these treacherous snakes at any point of time. However the strong economical situation of their governing classes proved to be a good market for our cigars and rum, which basically are luxury goods. Since these markets are closed to us now I have explored opportunities to change some of our agricultural production to other crops with my colleague from the Ministry of Health, Food and Agriculture." On the bright side the mining sector, aswell as steel production and the armament sector remain potent, although private gun sales have decreased. |

Merger of major weapon producers Following major economic troubles the People's Revolutionary Weapons Production Plant has purchased all Assets of Alegro y Moyano. The company, which was the market leader in gun production for the private market, did declare it's bankruptcy last week, after the economic problems and stricter gun control legislation lead to a severe decrease in sales. The current administrator of the PRWPP has announced that he will seek to maintain most of the employees, as the main reason for the takeover was the interest in the know-how and technology of the company. The workers of Alegro y Moyano have little to be happy about anyway, as Mr. Moyano commited suicide two days ago. The public obsequies for all workers, friends and business partners of Mr. Moyano will be held on Wednesday the 12th. |

Budget cuts in government To aleviate the effects the current crisis has on our beloved government the President and his Cabinet have decided to cut down costs. This will be achieved by a two-step plan. The first step is the decommissioning of 5 Divisions to save the soldier's pay and the maintenance cost of weapons, vehicles and facilities. Secondly the mining and farming sectors will be privatized. The Field-Marshal, Union of Veterans, the Red Miners and the Farming Cooperatives have strongly opposed the course of the government, but the spokesperson of the Cabinet has assured the Eye that these are the only possible steps that could be undertaken in the current situation. |

The Red Miners are back! Following the planned privatization of the state's biggest mining facilities the biggest union for the workers of the sector, the Red Miners, have announced their will to strike. The current leader of the movement, Carlos Godoy, had the following to say: "We disagree with the privatizations, because we know what will happen. Comrades will get sacked, the bosses will try to destroy the unions and our work. Wages will be lowered. We will not let that happen. Today, we stand united against the enemies of the people!" Godoy was later arrested for Treason, yet some small groups of Miners still continue their senseless attempts at stopping the big plan of our dear president. |

Rumors of Solidarity are false (obviously) After the show made by the traitor Godoy rumors arouse in several parts of the country. These rumors claim that some factory workers are striking to show their solidarity with the few remnants of the Red Miners that are still continuing their silly upheaval. Minister Miller confirmed that these rumors were false and that everyone who spreads messages "that are endangering the moral, physical or psychological integrity of the state or one of it's institutions must be classified as a traitor of the people and therefore he must be prosecuted. Not even our great nation can survive if we allow such elements to exist." |

Traitors executed Twentyseven traitors were executed yesterday in the central plaza of Blando. The most famous of them ought to be unionist Godoy, who dared to critisise the government's plans for privatization. The Red Miners protested against the executions, further strengthening the evidence for their treacherous ways. The Ministry of Inner Defense announced it's plans to take steps against the prevailing disobedience of the union. |
