ELECTIONS ANNOUNCED For the first time in Russian history, elections have been announced. We at Federation today took it upon ourselves to highlight to the world, and the populous, the current political situation in the Slavic Federation, and what results we expect to come from the coming elections. United Slav: Currently the largest party in the Russian ADF, and the second largest in the Thomradian ADF. This party owe their popularity mainly due to their revolutionary ideas, capitalist promises, reform ideas, and their leader, Kalashnikov, who spearheaded the revolution and dealt the final blow to Soviet Government. They are expected to win a majority in 4 Russian ADF provinces and 1 Thomradian ADF province. Patriots of Rossiya: Currently the second largest party in the Russian ADF, but not popular in the Thomradian ADF. They promote abolishing all state owned industry, property, and healthcare. Viewed as far right, the party has had some allegations of racial profiling, yet this has not been proved by law enforcement. They are fighting against United Slav for a majority in 1 Russian ADF province, yet they are fighting United Slav for the seat. Free Kyrat: A political party which demands independence for Kyrat, an ancient nation which was annexed by the Rus Empire in the 1830s. If elected, they promise greater automony for Kyrat, and other provinces. They currently have devout voters in the west, however due to the small population of Kyrat they are not expected to win any province seats. Soviet Party: The remains of the Soviet regime, this party promises to restore the USR to its former glory. Currently headed by former Soviet premier Brezhnev, this party has nearly no supporters, and is unexpected to get any local seats at all, mostly due to their promise of a fully Communist state. Social Democratic Rossiya: A party calling for compromise, stating that through Social democracy, equality and prosperity can be achieved. They state that if the state controls healthcare and other social services, yet also allows the free market, they a rich and equal society will develop. They are popular in the east, and are expected to gain 1 Russian ADF province seat. Thomradia for Thomradians: This party demands for an independent Thomradia, or a more localised government for Thomradia. This party has limited popularity in Thomradia, yet must fight hard against United Slav for seats. Dyfedian Reunification Party: This party wishes for reinufication between Thomradia and Dyfedia. This party has the majority of followers in the south, in areas where Celts are the majority. However, due to its limited range, it is expected to gain few Durma seats. To all the parties running, we at Federation Today wish you all the success, and can't wait to see the results over the coming days. Good luck to all, and long live the Federation! |

Elections Results Are In! Earlier today, the results from the first election of the Slavic Federation come as follows. The participants were involved in the first democratic process in Russian history, and all are to be congratulated for their success, and for their spirit in entering the elections. The Results are as follows. Durma Seats Results A reminder that there are currently 64 seats available for election in the state Durma. The party United Slav comes to a overwhelming victory in the fist election, with 40 seats of the 64 seats of the Durma. They won in 40 separate district, surely a good sign of national co-operation and ideals. with this, 75% majority, it is expected that the United Slav party will have huge influence in the way this nation is run. The party Patriots of Rossiya gained 6 seats in the Durma. Despite widespread support, the majority of areas they campaigned were also areas of United Slav popularity, yet they managed to pull through with 3 seats, a sound achievement! The party Free Kyrat gained 2 seats in the Durma. Through their devout campaigners in the west, they managed to rile up the native population, of which are predominately Kyrati. However, with this small percentage, it is not expected that there will be major change for Kyrat. Yet the people stay strong knowing they, for the first time in hundreds of years, have a voice in the way they are run. The party Soviet Party managed to gain 2 seats in the state Durma. Despite widespread critisism and hate, the Soviet Party managed to gain a majority in the west, near Almaty, a city predominately rebuilt by the USR. We are glad that there is the words of an experienced party now holding seats in the Durma. The party Social Democratic Rossiya managed to gain 10 seats in the state Durma. Through their policy of moderation, between the right policies of Patriots of Rossiya, and the leftist policies of the Soviet Party, they managed to gain 10 seats in the Durma, and are currently the second largest party in the Federation! The party Thomradia for Thomradians gained 3 seats in the state Durma. By appealing to the Thomradian feel for nationalism, they directly challenged the United Slav ideals of a unified Slavic nation, and managed to seal 3 seats. The party Plaid Dyfedia gained 1 seat in the state Durma. By appealing to minorities in southern Thomradia, while small in population they united to show that Dyfedia does have a presence in the Slavic Federation, and gained a single seat. State-Wide Governance The United Slav party now has elected 5 provincial governors. Well over half the governors in the Federation, the party has shown again its popularity and power in the federation. The party Patriots of Rossiya has elected 1 provincial governor, owing again to their nationalistic views. The Social Democratic Rossiya party has elected 1 Provincial governor, showing us that, in moderation of both left and right, anything is possible. Thomradia for Thomradians gained 1 Provincial Governor, showing us that Thomradia will continue to have a voice in state matters. Republic Results The Russian A.D.F has elected an United Slav official to become prime minister of the Russian A.D.F. and, in turn with Slavic constitutional laws, the President of the Slavic Federation, head of state. We wish our continuing President Vladimir Kalashnikov the best of luck for the future of our proud nation. In addition, United Slav has gained the Prime Minister-ship of the Thomradian A.D.F., showing us that the party now possesses extreme influence in the Slavic Federation's governance, and in turn, the Slavic Federation itself. We would like to wish all competitors and officials best wishes and congratulations on the passed election. We can only hope what the turnout has done for our great nation, and what those elected can do for the Slavic Federation! |

Terror Attacks Stun World Earlier Today, dozens of terrorist attacks were conducted across Mundus, from the Empire of Rokkenjima to East Moreland. While nobody has formally claimed to be behind the attacks, the Federation Government has issued Martial Law in Kyrati and Perm, two remote but densely populated areas of the Federation. As many are aware, Kyrati is the home of the Kryatian people, an ancient civilization who lived high in the mountain terrain. For many years they reigned peacefully in bliss and isolation, before being conquered by the Rus Empire sometime in the 11th Century. Following the rise of the United Soviet Russia, they were largely ignored, much to the delight of the inhabitants. However, they now claim that election results were forged, and that they should have received many more Durma Seats. While these claims have little evidence, the government is regarding these threats as serious. ![]() Perm is know for its links to the Soviet Revolution, as it was a hideout for the Soviet revolutionaries, hidden away from the eyes of the Tsar. However, even after the revolution, its people continue to support the Red Revolutionaries, and the areas around Perm received both of the Soviet Party Durma Seats. The Soviet party leaders have publicly shown their hatred towards the Southern Powers, and due to the attacks on these countries, combined with the Soviet parties immense wealth, foreign links and power, the Slavic Government is conducting investigations into possible links. ![]() The Slavic Government wishes to remind everyone that the threat of terror attacks against the Federation Government is small. However, as a grand nation such as our own, we must remember to be cautious. Please remain in your homes as much as possible, and leave your televisions and radios on, in case of broadcast. Durma to Debate Terrorist Association Bill The Durma is set to vote tomorrow over the "Terrorist Association Bill. The bill states, in layman's terms, that those who have been identified as a threat to the security of the state and the people, to be subjected to different laws then the everyday citizen. Some special rules for those identified include warrant-less searching of property and person, house arrest, custody for extended periods of time, and imprisonment. However, the article also includes an "Association" Article, claiming that "All persons who regularly meet with said individual who is believed to be a threat, will also be subject to these laws". This has caused quite the stir in the Durma, with many claiming the bill to be against basic human rights, while others claim the unspecified nature of the law may lead to abuse by the government. In addition, many fear that it may be used against the Kyra people, who despite the majority of whom are friendly, have been plagued by separatist movements. However, with the United Slav party holding a majority, it is expected for the bill to pass without any major opposition. Slavic Space Station? Earlier this week, the Slavic Space program, Roscosmos, has announced the possibility of launching a permanent space station. The proposed station will be a key stepping stone in the Slavic desire to further explore the moon, which is considered a priority for Roscosmos. The station would be designed to test the possibility of plant growth in space, the effects of the human body after long periods in space and in addition act as a potential space hub, which would assist other Slavic missions to the moon and beyond. However, the spokesperson for Roscosmos, Koptev, wishes to stress that everything is in the planning stage. "This is one option. We have many available routes for us to pursue, and hope to over the next few weeks to formulate a plan for future Slavic space missions for the next 15 years, up to 2030." The Rus' people did have a space station, Spetsnaz, however during the civil war missions to the station have ceased, and the station is currently unmanned high above the atmosphere. |

President to Consider Patriarchal Bill Earlier this week, a rather controversial bill, the Patriarchal Authority bill, passed the Durma and is awaiting signage from our President Vladimir Kalashnikov. The bill, in essence, takes away a female's ability to participate in governance, from voting in elections to running for office. Already, mass protests have occurred throughout the nation, from Perm to Muscovy, attempting to sway the president to vote against the bill. The President is faced with a tough decision. Vetoing the bill would gander widespread support from the public, and the international community, but would face pressure from his own government and party. Allowing the bill to pass would outrage the now vote less female gender, in addition to the international community. The bill, however, continues to allow women in the armed services. "Women have fought in our armed forces for decades. They are as strong and as cunning. However, a female governor is a completely different situation." Whatever happens, we stand by our President Vladimir, as he leads us and the Federation to new heights! Separatists in the South? In southern Thomradia, a small town was ravaged by what could only be described by a militia. Armed men, wielding Ak-47s and machetes stormed the village, killing all they could find and taking what they could carry. Frac, a 16 year old teen, was the only survivor, hiding under his mother's home. "They came into the town, firing in the air, stormed the school.. demanded everyone to go to the town square or else the children would be hurt. Everyone did this, but i was scared, so i hid. Then all i see is gunshots. They killed them all. All of them yelling in a strange language." The Federation government has not confirmed or denied this report, and has sealed the region, claiming to be reviewing other witnesses and evidence before making an official statement. |

Protest Throughout Nation Earlier today, the President signed and approved of the Terrorist Association Bill and the Patriarchal Authority Bill. This has sparked mass protest throughout the nation, as both women and minorities feel as if their rights as citizens have been taken away. Local Businesswoman Alisa Valeriya had this to say: "I cannot believe this is happening. Our rights, the core of the beautiful democracy that we live in, have been taken away. I am a lawyer. I work as hard as any man, if not harder. Yet, if I wanted to participate, in any way, in the way we are governed, if I have a suggestion or idea which can assist our great nation, I am told I cannot because I am not a man." The response from minorities, in particular the Kyrai minorities, has been considerably different in tone "This is a disgrace! This is a stain on our people's history, and a grave dishonor on our people's ancestors. By following our religion, that our people have followed for centuries, long before Rus occupation, I am targeted as a terrorist! As a killer! As something that hides in the shadows and kills the innocent! That is not me. I would not be surprised if others are more angered then me. Do not expect our outrage to go without violence." When asked about what violence there would be against the government, he refused to comment. Kyrai is a moderately sized city in North-West Rus, with a population of 600,000. Following Soviet collapse, the people residing there have become more vocal for calls for autonomy and independence, citing religious, historical and cultural differences. The Slavic government, however, has been largely ignoring these Separatist claims. The government gave this response. "Kyrai is Slavic. It is as Slavic as Muscovy or Novgorod. We will not allow true Slavic territory to leave the great Slavic state. We will never back down in the face of threats of violence. We will stand tall and fight, if they wish to fight." Bombing of Muscovian Apartments Late last night throughout Muscovy, bombs were set off underneath housing complexes and in public spaces. Please note that this is all we may gather in these chaotic situations, so mistakes may follow. President Kalashnikov has issued a state of Emergency in Muscovy. At 8:00pm, a moderately sized bomb, crafted from what is believed to be a mix of plastic explosive and petrol, weighing roughly 300kg, was detonated in the Muscov Mall. Currently 15 people have been pronounced dead, and a further 7 are missing. At the Muscovian barracks, at 10:00pm, a car bomb was set of outside the ceremonial guard barracks of the Slavic mint. The building briefly caught fire before collapsing. The building was housing Russian soldiers and their families. 64 people have been pronounced dead, 16 of them children, and 133 people are injured and required medical care. Another car bomb was found several streets away outside a children's hospital, but was reported by civilians and was defused. Later that night, at midnight, 12:00am, what is believed to be anywhere from 300-400kg of explosive was set off from the ground floor of a Muscovian apartment in south-east Muscovy, on Guryanova street. The building immediately collapsed, and with searching continuing, so far 94 people have been announced dead, and a further 249 injured. 19 people still remain missing. ![]() The time is believed to have been selected due to the late hour, and the majority of people would be at home. Asleep. Allowing the bombs to kill as many innocent as possible. Nobody has come forward as responsible for the blast. Our hearts go out to the victims. May god guide us and the prophet show us the light. |

Kyrai Freedom Fighters Claim Responsibility Earlier today, amid much speculation and investigation by both the police and the media, the terror organisation known as the Kyrai separatists have claimed responsibility for the terror attacks in Muscovy a fortnight ago. They have released a video with the following message. ![]() "The Slavic people have, for far too long, oppressed us. They have oppressed our people, our religion, and our history. Who remembers the Rus conquest of Kyrai? Who remembers the Kyrai warriors, with their blades of steel? Nobody remembers us, or our people. We have been slaughtered for generations by those who ruled from Muscovy. During the Rus Empire we were invaded. During the USR our people were shot at and our culture called "counter-revolutionary". Now, as the Slavic Federation outlawed our rights, what did the world have to say? Nothing. They were all talking about women's rights. Not ours. As we sit here, being called terrorists, we decided that we would do as the Slavic Federation says. We will be terrorists. We shall free Kyrai from Slavic rule. We shall establish our mighty Kyrai empire, that will stretch all over Aranye and Coft. We call to nations of the world, who will help us overthrow the Slavic government, and who will help us in our slaughter of the Slavs? Those who are just will do justice. As we shall." Kyrai is a north-westerly region of the Russian ADF, surrounded by large mountains. Relatively isolated, it's history, demographics and culture all differs significantly from the rest of the Federation, but relations were assumed to be friendly with the rest of the Federation, due to a mutual want of development and prosperity throughout the Federation. The Slavic Government has so far not officially responded. |

Death to the South After two months of total blackout, our glorious President has finally allowed his messages of strength and unity to be broadcasted throughout the world! He decided he would begin this reach out to the world with a message of warning and caution. ![]() President Vladimir Kalashnikov "Nations of the World, I issue a warning to all. I issue a warning to those nations who want self rule and self determination. The nations who want to be free, and want to be run in the traditions of their culture and their nation. I am talking, naturally, about the imperialistic and aggressive nations of the South. Those nations who claim to want to help all nations, and all peoples. Yet they place pressure on my nation, on me, on my people, for the traditions and laws of our nation. Why do they do this? To push insecurities on the people of their nations. To make their people afriad. So they will continue to flock to their "democratic" elections, believing they are free, when in reality all is decided by a monarch. We try to protest peacefully. We try to inform them of our traditions and culture. Yet, she does not give up. She herself wants to see our nation suffer. They constantly force us to consider military action when in reality all we want is peace. They force us to look evil, when in reality we act in good hearts. They threaten us with destruction. The Slavic Federation laughs at these threats. I laugh at this. If they want to see our nation destroyed, our people suffer, our culture tarnished, our land salted and our children die, then i can only wish the same for them. Death to the hypocrites. Death to the South!" |
