Is anyone else interested in what could have been and sometimes things that will probably never have happened but if it had what would history and the world ended up like. This is a place where you can share your own Alternate history idea's and/or interesting bits of media related to the topic such as the world war series by Harry Turtledove. A book series I really enjoy and if you havent heard about it, it follows multiple perspectives from different backgrounds and parts of the world during world war 2 and onward after an alien race known only as the race invades earth. If you havent heard of it I highly recommend you give it a shot.

In addition to what SvartHjerte said, I would highly recommend all of Harry Turtledove's books. He has a rather lengthy series on what would have played out had the Confederacy won the American Civil War, which spans up through both World Wars. I really enjoyed reading those as well as his World War Series (and others).

If you're interested in alternate history, you may also be interested in counterfactual history, a sort of sub-discipline of historiography championed by Niall Ferguson, the intelligent but rather controversial British historian. Basically it argues that by assigning importance to a given historical event, you are simultaneously making a claim about what would have happened or not happened in its absence, and so it's useful to examine those claims in order to understand the importance of a given event.

I recently have seen the first episode of The man in the high castle produced by Amazon, which is of course based on the book of the same name. I found it quite interesting, although I normally dislike alternate histories with these really, big nations that span across the globe. Normally I find them very unlikely. But it had enough things to keep me interested and has some fascinating details. Of course I can't say if the book is represented correctly.

Cant say im overly fond of harry turtledove. I do enjoy alternate history, but fir tge most part I stick to historical fiction. Of which Bernard Cornwell is the undisputed master. Specifically i just finished The Empty Throne, the latest book in The Saxon Stories, the eighth I think.
