Bürgerbericht von Fahrland 9.1.15 Deitrich Hofstader: Guten Abend Bürgerinnen und Bürger, Unsere Wirtschaft hast... Transferring to English Service: Stand By... ...Connected Evening Political Broadcast: Deitrich Hofstader: Good evening citizens, Our economy has entered the fourth year of what is, without doubt, the worst depression we have ever experienced. Unemployment is at an all time high of 14.39% and Per Capita income has dropped far below $1000, using the international currency scale... Ana Beleibt: These are dire times for the Citizenry. The only thing that has prevented large scale starvation were efforts by the Agricultural Administration to increase normal rations. After a recent Agricultural Council vote, food production has been increased, at some expense... Deitrich Hofstader: You have the right Ana. The depression has reduced imports of foreign foodstuff, forcing the Federation to produce more of its own. The increase in produce has been spurred on by the expansion of farming into what had previously been ecological sanctuaries. These drastic moves have long been opposed by the Longevity Party, but as the economy has worsened and the split between hard line environmentalists and the more conservative factions within the party became more predominant, the party has become more divided on the issue. As a result Conservative Longevity party members joined with minority parties on the Agricultural Committee and have, "enacted sweeping emergency reforms" in the words of new chairman Jon Bismark... Ana Beleibt: The state of the economy has taken a severe toll on the Longevity Party, leaving many to speculate if it will result in them losing their plurality party position in the upcoming February elections. They already lost their majority position in the last cycle two years ago, the first majority in our history. The other major parties and many minority parties are waiting to swoop in should our current situation continue... Deitrich Hofstader: As always we will keep the people up to date on all new developments, stay tuned for our cultural programming immediately following a short break. Broadcasting paid for by the Communications Administration; Sofie Krieger: Chairman. Both: Long live the Federation, Long live the State, Long live Fahrland. |

Bürgerbericht von Fahrland 19.1.15 Deitrich Hofstader: Good evening citizens of the Federation! As many of you are well aware, Fahrland has opened diplomatic negotiations with several nations simultaneously. This move, prompted by the continued failure of economic recovery efforts has led many to speculate that the Federation has ended its long isolation from wider Mundus. Earlier this week Longevity Party Assemblyman Jörg Schultz was sent to the Union of Nordic Peoples to meet with their representative and those of several other nations to write treaties that could stimulate an economic recovery. Similarly, Vice-Chancellor Schmied will head a meeting with Füher Blankenburg of the Ostenvolker Reich here in the government quarter to strengthen ties with our western neighbors. Citizen Beleibt? Ana Beleibt: No doubt this will provide ample fodder for the upcoming Feburary 1st election. These moves have led many to question not only the unity of the Longevity party, but also the integrity of Chancellor Kaper von Rundstadt as he backs down from many of his purported "hard line stances" on isolationism and environmental protection. Conservative Longevity Party members teamed up with Industrialists and several minority parties, successfully forcing the Chancellor to negotiate a compromise that sent known pro-isolationist Scchultz to the UNP and the anti-isolationist Vice-Chancellor to meet with Blackenburg. Deitrich Hofstader: So Ana, does this spell the end of the Kaper von Rundstadt's time as Chancellor? Ana Beleibt: It is far too soon to tell, but as the fault lines within the Longevity party split ever wider, it seems more and more likely that will be the case. Deitrich Hofstader: It will be interesting to see if the Longevity party can pull itself together, as they did in 1988, or if they will actually split apart. If I were the Chancellor I would be praying that a new issue doesn't arise to finalize the fracturing. Ana Beleibt: It is rather unlikely seeing as the elections are less than two weeks away, but if it does happen Fahrland Citizen's Report will keep you informed. Deitrich Hofstader: Stay tuned for the 23rd district election debate right after a short break! Broadcasting paid for by the Communications Administration; Sofie Krieger: Chairman. Both: Long live the Federation, Long live the State, Long live Fahrland. Edited by Tiberius, 19th January 2015 - 06:22 PM.

Bürgerbericht von Fahrland 26.1.15 Ana Beleibt: Gooooooood Evening Citizens! How lucky we are that not just one, but TWO great events are unfolding for us right here, right now. In East Moreland Fahrland's best compete against those from other nations in the Second Independent Order Games! And at home it is once again our bi-annual Election Season! Dietrich Hoffstader: The IO games opened up in Seaforth just this Friday, so far it has been a spectacular event. In the three days that have past so far, Fahrland has won 2 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals! Although the games began on a rather disappointing note when Fahrland failed to even place in cycling, an area of national prowess, our teams' incredible work on the racket courts are proving a force to be reckoned with. Ana Beleibt: Although we're not supposed to cover sports, I'd just like to say that it has been a marvel watching Margret Karloff and Mandy Bar play in the Women's Tennis Tournament. It'd be interesting to see those two go head to head in the Games just like they always do here in Fahrland. ![]() Margret (L) and Mandy (R) at the Fahrland Tennis Championship 2014 Dietrich Hoffstader: It remains a strong possibility as they both head into their division pre-championship matches. Though I wouldn't put your hopes too high Ana. There is some stiff competition in these games. Ana Beleibt: I can dream though, can't I? Dietrich Hoffstader: There isn't a government law on it yet, so I suppose you can. Speaking of government, election season is in full swing as candidates and supporters from across the country campaign as if their lives depended on it. Hopefully, we won't have a repeat of two years ago when the front runner from Südkönnlan had to withdraw after she got a severe case of frostbite while doing a particularly lengthy speech. Ana Beleibt: It's very possible, seeing as Citizen Jana has recovered from her frostbite and is running again this year. Nothing seems to deter her from her pursuit of a Bürgerschaffen seat, even losing four seasons in a row. Dietrich Hoffstader: It's made even more likely as she is running on an Industrialist Party platform this year, her greatest rival is a member of the Longevity Party who have been taking a sharp dip in the polls ever since the depression started. It would be nothing short of a miracle if they manage to retain their plurality, which of course would mean that Kaper von Rundstadt won't be Chancellor any longer. It's very strange to think that might happen; he's been Chancellor ever since I finished my time in the military! Ana Beleibt: I think every citizen knows that feeling. Speaking of the Chancellery, Leslie Voltno, who many have suggested as a possible candidate, has gone back home to participate in a regional debate against challengers to her seat. The debate will be broadcast live, right after a short intermission. Dietrich Hoffstader: Keep warm Fahrland. Broadcasting paid for by the Communications Administration; Sofie Krieger: Chairman. Both: Long live the Federation, Long live the State, Long live Fahrland! |

Bürgerbericht von Fahrland 1.2.15 Ana Beleibt: Good day, and welcome to the Pre-Election Day political broadcast! As per usual, this broadcast has been given tier three priority: those of you not currently involved in the operation of heavy machinery are highly encouraged to cease work and tune in. Dietrich Hoffstader: Tomorrow is election day as I'm certain all of you know. This campaign season is shaping up to be a momentous one. The latest poll results are in and from these it would appear that the Longevity Party has continued to lose ground. Environmentalist elements within the party have begun actively talking of splitting off and reforming the Environmental Party; meanwhile, many moderate incumbents have renounced the Longevity party and taken up new political stances as independents. Those who remain in office will no doubt be courted by parties such as the Industrialists, who have been making large gains in the polls. Ana Beleibt: Before we begin a discussion on the Industrialists and the possible implications of a Longevity fall from power, why don't we bring up those poll numbers. (Polls are shown onscreen)
Ana Beleibt: As you can see the Longevity party is trailing behind the Industrialists in every State save West-Fahrland, their primary vote getting region. It should also be noted that this poll doesn't take into account the Green members of the Longevity party, who may end up splitting off from the main group. (As they continue talking a banner at the bottom shows poll results for individual districts) Dietrich Hoffstader: Another point of interest is Südkönnlan. Earlier we had spoken about how Citizen Jana was running again for the Bürgerschaffen and how she was the favored candidate. Well, these recent polls show that the Nationalist Party is sweeping the entire State. It is extremely probable that both of Südkönnlan's Bürgerschaffen seats will go to them. Ana Beleibt: It was thought that her supporters would continue to vote for her even after she switched to an Industrialist Party platform, but it seems the fervently Nationalist citizens of Südkönnlan had other ideas. You will also see the growing popularity of the CLP, as they've continued to broaden their appeal over the last few election cycles. The fall of the Longevity Party seems to have been a boon for all of the other parties. It was suspected that their collapse would give a leg up to the other parties, this poll confirms it. Dietrich Hoffstader: It should be obvious to anyone looking at these numbers that the Industrialists have the lead in most States. Ana, what would a Industrialist victory mean in this election? Ana Beleibt: Well, it would mean a couple of things. It would certainly mean broader participation on the world stage, as we've already seen has been demonstrated in recent months. No doubt, the Industrialists will also continue their efforts to build new infrastructure and jump-start the economy through vast increases in deficit spending; they are going to concentrate on creating jobs by initiating large government projects. But, it could also signal an increase in military spending, as the Nationalists become a larger force in the Bürgerschaffen. Deitrich Hoffstader: There's more to it than just a larger Nationalist presence in the government, though. Sensing the change in the political direction of Fahrland, Richter Gelb has been meeting with several senior Industrialists, including Tiberius Schmied, to try and align their political platforms closer to each other. It is speculated that they have been working on the possibility of electing Schmied to the Chancellory and Gelb as his Vice-Chancellor. Ana Beleibt: That would be quite the policy shift. We shouldn't discount Kaper von Rundstadt though. He still holds wide appeal with many members of the Bürgerschaffen, including within the Industrialist and Nationalist parties. Similarly, Leslie Voltno has managed to rally the support of the Minor parties and many independents around her bid. Dietrich Hoffstader: Before we sign off, I'd like to congratulate the Fahrland IO Games Team on their resounding success today, earning four medals: three of them Gold. Ana Beleibt: Don't forget to show your support for your candidates in the elections tomorrow! Broadcasting paid for by the Communications Administration; Sofie Krieger: Chairman. Both: Long live the Federation, Long live the State, Long live Fahrland! |

Bürgerbericht von Fahrland 1.2.15 Election Day Results ![]() Dietrich Hoffstader: The votes are in! They have been counted, recounted, scrutinized, and the winners have been elected. This chart shows the current make up of the new Bürgerschaffen. Some of your hard work has paid off, some of it hasn't, either way the people have spoken and democracy reigns supreme. Ana Beleibt: This is a momentous election season, the Longevity party have lost their plurality in the Bürgerschaffen! What will this mean for Chancellor Kaper von Rundstadt? Will he manage to pull together enough supporters from across party lines? Will Assemblyman Schmied make a deal with Richter Gelb? And what of Leslie Voltno? She still remains popular among minor parties and independents. Dietrich: *laughs* I know you're excited Ana, we all are, but this is still the news. The Bürgerschaffen won't meet until later this week. Their first task is to elect a Chancellor and Vice Chancellor from among their body to head the Committee on Foreign Relations and the powerful Resolutions Committee. After that, without a doubt, the Industrialists and Nationalists will start throwing their new political weight around. Ana Beleibt: These are exciting times for Fahrland! Dietrich Hoffstader: These are interesting times for Fahrland. Ana Beleibt: Fahrland is finally going to take our place on the world stage! The Depression is going to end! Dietrich Hoffstader: I think we should take a short break. We're going to cut to a live broadcast from the Nationalist Party Convention. Remember, the Communications Administration is committed to neutral, objective, broadcasting. Stay tuned! We'll be... right back... Bürgerbericht von Fahrland 9.2.15 The Race for the Chancellery Dietrich Hoffstader: Welcome citizens, we have a very special announcement to make tonight. After nearly five days of speeches, votes, additionally speeches, revotes, and politicking the Bürgerschaffen has come to a decision on Fahrland's new Chancelor and Vice-Chancellor. Ana Beleibt: Indeed, these results were rather unexpected by anyone going in, and it will certainly be one ofr the record books. In a display of solidarity between the Nationalists and Industrialists Richter Gelb has backed out of his bid for the Vice-Chancellery with Tiberius Schmied and been replaced by Leslie Voltno. Pulling together votes from the CLP, Nationalists, Industrialists, and many Independents the most recent vote finally surpassed the 50% mark needed to elect a Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor. Dietrich Hoffstader: Many of you have already surmised the results, but we will report them as well. Citizens of Fahrland, your new Chancellor is Tiberius Schmied! Your new Vice-Chancellor is Leslie Voltno! No doubt they will lead Fahrland into a new era. Ana Beleibt: Ex-Chancellor and current... Assemblyman Frederick Kaper von Rundstadt... that is very strange to say, has said in a public statement that he is "disappointed" that he has lost the vote, but that he "will continue to serve the 16th district and as head of the Longevity Party" to his "utmost ability." Dietrich Hoffstader: It is very strange. He had been Chancellor for twenty-two years. An extraordinarily long stretch, a record that I'm not sure anyone will even approach in my lifetime. He has since taken a position as Chair of the Agricultural Committee. Which brings me to the list of new Committee Chairs. Can we bring those up?
Dietrich Hoffstader: This list has differed very little overall from last election season, but there are some developments to be aware of. Notably, Sasha Ord, an Independent, will continue to Chair the Law and Order Committee, and we have a new Communications Chair: Vice Chancellor Leslie Voltno. Ana Beleibt: Chancellor Schmied will give a speech where he outlines his new direction for Fahrland later this month. He is expected to adopt a more active role for Fahrland on the world stage, increase spending on government projects, increase military funding, and loosen several more rigid laws at the behest of Vice-Chancellor Voltno. Dietrich Hoffstader: I would like to congratulate the new Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, and Committee Chairs on their elections one last time before signing off. Congratulations! Broadcasting paid for by the Communications Administration; Leslie Voltno: Chairwoman. Both: Long live the Federation, Long live the State, Long live Fahrland! |
