New Sparta Times June 19, 2015 Information Technology Industry Will Boom, Says Analysts According to economic analysts, the United Spartan States' IT indusry will increase by 300% in the upcoming year. The industry is currently growing at a constant and steady pace, but analysts believe that Spartan tablets and phones will be proven superior to foreign electronics. Sports Football The New Sparta Sharks have beaten the Ithaca Hoplites, 9001 to 0. This was due to a drinking contest by the Ithaca Hoplites players, leaving them incredibly loopy. Basketball The Cretan Bulls' star player broke his ankle on the hoop in a freak accident during practice. He will be out for the season. The Bulls' coach had no other comment other than "That's [expletive deleted]." Politics Trump begins campaign Ronald Trump gave an amazingly hilarious stand up comedy show yesterday. When complimented on how funny he was, he said: "That was my campaign speech." More rappers Think Wocka was the only rapper running for president? Think again. Kanye East and 1 Chainz have just announced that they are also running for president. |

New Sparta Times July 5, 2015 President Mark Anax has been elected for his fifth term. Many politicans and critics are against this, however, political critic Griffin Inix has this to say; "This is the beauty of our current political system. A good president, like Mark Anax, would stay in office and all of Sparta would benefit. You can see by the extremely good economy and civil rights that President Anax is the one Sparta needs." However, Inix also believes that due to a recent decline in political freedom, this will be President Anax's last term. |

New Sparta Times July 24, 2015 Carl Solon has been sworn in as President after a landslide election in his favor. His campaign to reduce taxes and improve business was extremely popular with the citizens of Sparta. Some of the other candidates included Cretan Senator Matthew Anax, who supported more education funding, and New Spartan Senator Dominic Draco, who advocated stronger law and order and defense budget. Macedonia is expected to have a large number of incoming students, as Macedonia, nicknamed the silicon city, is the technology capital of Sparta, if not Mundus. New Sparta Times September 6, 2015 Underground city under construction The city of Tartarus begins construction, 500 meters underground in New Knossos. Dr. Davros, chief of engineering, talked to the New Sparta Times about some of the problems that will be addressed during construction. "Some people have claimed that an underground city would have problems due to lack of sunlight and nature. However, we are using trees donated from Spartan rainforests, combined with artificial sunlight, will create an 'underground oasis'. We will also have fans embedded high up in the cavern roof to create artificial wind, to allow for air circulation. The trees and plants will be able to help provide a constant supply of oxygen." New Sparta Times September 7, 2015 Hyperloop train is built in Macedonia Macedonia is now sporting Sparta's first public-accessible ATTS(Advanced Tube-based Transport System), a quick, cheap, and fuel-efficient transportation system. It is estimated that if one was built across the United Spartan States, it would be fast enough to take travelers from Ithaca to Corinth in less than 15 minutes. This was a perfectly normal situation. What was different this time was that a day later, a missile was fired at it, and it was recorded to have completely obliterated the satellite. New Sparta Times New International Airports opened Due to the landlocked position of the New Sparta International Airport, two new International Airports have been built to accommodate tourism demands. They are based in Ithaca and New Knossos, to allow easy transportation to popular tourist sites. The first is the Ithacan International Airport, located close to Minoa and Macedonia.  The second is the New Knossos International Airport, located so that travel to New Sparta and Corinth is quick, easy, and convenient.

Several Macedonian companies are expected to built factories there as well. The Senate released an announcement shortly after, explaining their motives and apologizing to Zachachevania for their recent actions. Meanwhile, Solon has come under attack for his actions in the Helgara conflict. "Solon's actions have been reckless. They have put Sparta in danger and severely damaged relations with other nations." Political Columnist Theodrekr Antonopoulos said. However, he also had this to say. "Although Solon has proven he is far from perfect, he has brought Sparta to a height that we have never reached before. Although he has made mistakes, and great mistakes they are, he is still the best option as President that I have seen." Senator Oberon Hayden, leader of the opposition of Solon's handling of the Helgara conflict and main speaker who pushed for the recent Senate announcement, has announced his candidacy for President. "Solon has done much to benefit Sparta." Hayden said. "However, his recent actions have shown that Sparta needs a new President. Our system was designed this way, so that Presidents would benefit Sparta and be replaced by others, for them to do what is best for Sparta. Solon has done his part to push Sparta into a new age. New Sparta Times Professor decimates wall at University of New Sparta Archaeology Professor Phaon Bouras of the University of New Sparta, famous in the academic community for his eccentricity and incredibly detailed reconstructions, accidentally destroyed a frat house at the University of New Sparta earlier today. New Sparta Times Successful Spartan Enlightenment attack in Minoa A recent Spartan Enlightenment bombing has resulted in the destruction of the Danaos building in Minoa. There are no official numbers of causalities yet. Shortly after the bombing, Spartan Enlightenment announced on live TV that they claim responsibility for the attack. New Sparta Times People pay panda a visit After the Toshikawan Panda was announced extinct in Toshikawa, the Corinthian Zoo decided to remind the public of the fact that there has been a male Toshikawan panda, named "Gary" by a few youthful biologists, living in the Corinthian Zoo for several years. New Sparta Times Sparta shot out of second In the Mundus Games, Sparta reigned first for the first eight days on the gold medal table-that is, until it was pushed to second by Ubakasa on day ten, and third by Achkaerin on day eleven. New Sparta Times The Hood finally caught on camera The mysterious vigilante known as "the Hood" was caught on camera after he threw a kidnapper holding a young boy hostage off a roof. The Hood is known for reappearing and disappearing, fighting criminals, Necromancers, and terrorists. Soon after the picture was taken, he jumped off the roof and was unable to be found.

His intention is to build a system of ATTS across Sparta to allow for faster, easier, and cleaner public transportation systems. In an exclusive interview, President Solon discussing the WAF and what it brings to Sparta.  The President has ditched his purple tie in favor of a more casual outfit "The West Ardian Forum has brought unity to our side of the continent." President Solon said during the interview. Many leaders in East Ardia constantly involve themselves in international conflict often to increase their countries' control over international affairs and power. The East has been constantly involved in conflict, whether it's Jinin's madness, Toshindai's civil war, Rokkenjima's foreign policy, or the Enlightenment. Yet, the West is far more stable, and through the Forum, we will be able to resolve international conflicts without the shedding of blood." Pokemon Go is a freemium location-based mobile game developed by Niantic for iOS and Android devices, containing some but not all aspects of an augmented reality game. Making use of GPS and the camera of compatible devices, the game allows players to capture, battle, and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon, who appear on device screens as though in the real world. The game is free-to-play, although it supports in-app purchases of additional gameplay items. |

 Military due for an upgrade The Senate has voted to pass the Nationalist Party bill to drastically increase military spending. Military budget is estimated to be increased to roughly 4.5% of the GDP.[1]. President Solon supported the bill, stating that it would help protect Sparta from the chaos around the world. Biggest collaboration in Sparta Three of Sparta's top rappers, G-eazy, Eminem, and Logic, have announced that they are collaborating on a new album and starting a tour around New Sparta, starting in December.    Although hip-hop is largely dominated by Andean rappers like Guerrero and Andre, Spartan rappers have created their own niche. Eminem has collaborated with Guerrero on previous tracks. |

New Sparta Times Uranium Fever Following much controversial debate in the Senate, Nationalist Party members have abolished the 50 year old bill banning production of nuclear weapons in Sparta in an extremely close vote. Surprisingly, prominent Libertarian Senator Oberon Hayden supported the Nationalist Party's efforts. "We all are aware of the attentions of the Senators who have previously passed the bill. However, we live in an increasingly dangerous world, and the state must have the means to protect its people." In other news, the Socialist Worker's Union has taken advantage of recent public support to reform the public healthcare system. New Sparta Times Nationalists gaining traction Following recent Senate elections, the Nationalists have become the Senate majority by a narrow margin, with the remaining Senate split between the Libertarians and Liberals, with the Socialists and Conservatives occupying a small remaining fraction of seats. The Nationalist Party has been known to cooperate with President Solon and two major party members include Vice President Daedalos and Commander in Chief Bryan Alcamenes. The recent Nationalist victory was due to a highly successful "Sparta First" populist campaign, with many Senators speaking on a platform of supporting liberty and democracy around Mundus. This may conflict with President Solon's staunch non-interventionist foreign policy.

New Sparta Times An interview with the most powerful man in Sparta Noah Hylas is the unofficial majority Nationalist leader, and was very influential in the recent comeback of nationalism and the "Sparta first" movement.  Q: Mr. Hylas, how are you today? H: Pretty good, myself. Q: Let's start off with what everyone wants to know: What does it feel like being the most powerful man in Sparta? H: (laughs) I'm far from the most powerful man in Sparta. I simply have advocated for nationalist policies, seeing as they work well and is what Sparta and Mundus needs. Many Senators have rallied behind me, and the voters have decided that they want Senators that will get things done. Q: What policies do the Nationalists plan on advocating in the Senate? H: Well, there's many things we'd like to do. Our welfare and healthcare system are abysmal compared to the rest of Mundus, so we'd need to work on that. We're also going to work on strengthening our international presence, similar to what President Solon did back in 2015, although this time we will work on supporting democracies throughout Mundus that agree with Spartan ideals of freedom and responsibility. Q: What do you have to say to the critics of the Nationalists, who claim you are theocrats and racists? H: We do not support any sort of religious or racial policies whatsoever. We simply want to put Sparta first, and these accusations are baseless attacks designed to ruin our public image. Q: Let's go back to healthcare reform. What are you going to do and how are you going to do it? H: At this point our plans are still under construction. We're currently working out the kinks and we will publicly present it once we are done. Q: How specifically are you going to support "Liberty and Democracy" in Mundus? "Their foreign policy is idiotic and foolish." Solon said. "These warmongerers will do nothing but jeopardize the peace proccess and damage Sparta's reputation with the international community.
