25c Daily July 4, 2015  Today's latest gossip and entertainment news from the Duquense Hills. AMAGeddon: 50,000 signatures call for CEO Ellie Kao's resignation. San Fierro based firm Reddit, Inc, is facing a firestorm of criticism after a employee of the site was fired suddenly without informing the sites "moderators" - volunteers who moderate individual sections of the site. The employee was (reportedly) fired for refusing to give up her integrity on commercializing the part of the site she managed, AMA's, or 'Ask Me Anythings', of which many world celebrities and key figures have participated in, such as (now former) president Hunter, the Emperor and Empress of Rokkenjima and Dartfordia, Movie stars Byrce Ling, Steven Spallbirg and others. The employee, identified as Victoria McKeen, was the key figure in organizing these AMA's and brought the figures with the moderators of these subreddits. The dismissal of her, these moderators protest, has left them in absolute disarray without any way of getting these AMA's done. This has left, at first, to the privatizing (Only moderators and select users may see the contents) to the /r/IAmA board, the main AmA board, followed rapidly by /r/Pics, /r/Art, /r/books, and others, with over 400 'Subreddits', sections of the site, being closed off in protest. The main targets of these protests has been the sacking of new Reddit CEO, Ellie Kao, who has been dubbed by users as 'Chairman Kao', the reddit community doing what it does best in portraying this image, with hundreds of satire images and even a song emerging to "hail" the Chairman of the Peoples' Democratic Republic of Reddit, as it has been dubbed. These accusations all follow after Kao banned several "hateful" subreddits last month, though some pointing out the hypocrisy in this move as several subreddits, many argue are being more offensive than the ones banned, are left up, with a trend skewing towards femimist groups being left open while other groups (such as /r/fatpeoplehate) being closed down, with many using this as a example of Kao's "corrupted judgement" on the matter. Some subjects of previous AMA's even spoke to her defense, such as the Emperor of Rokkenjima, using the username /u/Literally_Fucks_With_Royalty: “I’m incredibly surprised by Reddit’s decision. Victoria was wonderful during our AMA – she was able to type faster than we could speak. But I’m getting the feeling this isn’t the first bad decision made by the company. It appears they have lost respect for the people who work so hard to deliver a safe community.” The plot thickened further today when a confirmed former Reddit employee stated in a self-made AMA he was sacked by "Chairman" Kao after his Leukemia relapsed and he was unable to return to work, being forced to stay in Pittsburgh for treatment when Kao had implemented a forced policy of all employees relocating to Reddit's San Fierro offices. A petition on change.sh has so far reached 50,000 signatures calling for Kao to step down, with as many as 10,000 calling for her to be replaced with Mckeen, who is now being dubbed "Queen Victoria". Jurassic World rocks box office Jurassic World bashed the box office this week with a additional $7 million haul this weekend, adding its total domestic gross to $528.9 Million. HuluHoop TV and Netflix rush to sign 'Top Gear' trio for a new show The rush to sign (now former) Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond, formally hosts of the hit Dartfordian show "Top Gear" for a vehicle related online show. Netflix seemed to offer the best deal to the trio, with guarenteed multiple-seasons and a 'sizeable' budget, but HuluHoop's TV offer has not been made public yet. Music | TV | Movies | Celebs | Other 'Bertstrips' causing controversy as they gain publication (18+)   Two daily syndications of 'Bertstrips' syndicated into the Duquesne Hills Daily Paper A run of the new online comic 'Bertstrips' has made it into a local Duquesne Hills newspaper. The comic focuses on rebranding older Sesame Street childrens cartoons into adult humor themed, usually offensive, one-panel comic strips. The show, while still on the air, is maintained and broadcasted by the Public Broadcasting Association, meaning as it is government funded it's in the public domain - anyone can use and modify any of the material for their own benefit, thus leading to Bertstrips - some call it amazingly humoruous as a take on most of our childhoods, others are calling it offensive and distasteful. Rucker Thompson, editor-in-chief of the paper noted that "It's simply freedom of speech gone wild, which is what we love about it. All the offensive material and inapropriate jokes lead for good adult humor." Jessica Skully, local PTA chairwoman noted that "The closer this kind of "humor", if it even could be called humor, gets to our children, the more profound the effect it will be. The newspaper must take this out of syndication and perhaps re-issue it in a 'adults only' newspaper." South Hills is notorious for its freedom of the press clauses - a spokeswoman for the Federal Communications Authority noted that as long as a disclaimer of "for readers eighteen and older" was attached, the strips would be law-compliant. The Duquesne Hills Paper has not responded to requests to remove the strip from normal sunday circulation. |

Music | TV | Movies | Celebs | Other Twitter strips 'Verified' from Rokkenjiman Government accounts *RETCONNED* A unidentified Twitter administrator (TWTR, Matthews Stock Exchange) has stripped the 'Verified' tags from various official Rokkenjiman Governmental twitter accounts, including, but not limited to the following: @RokGov - Rokkenjiman Governmental Main Twitter Account @PyrenaCastle - Pyrena Castle Twitter Account @Ecskana - Ecskana Province Twitter Account @AustranaGov - Austrana Province Twitter Account @EstvuaProv - Estvua Province Twitter Account @KavaniaGovt - Kavania Province Twitter account. @IRN - Imperial Rokkenjiman Navy twitter account These are merely the major identified accounts - So far it seems over 50 Rokkenjiman governmental related accounts have been stripped of 'verified' status. Most curiously, however, it seems the only accounts targeted are currently (Believed) to be under the control of the new contested Rokkenjiman Regent's government. The personal accounts of the Empress and Emperor, (@EmpressBeatrice and @Prince_of_Alex respectively) both seem to have been left untouched. Twitter has not commented at this time. UPDATE 9:29PM MATTHEWS TIME: Twitter confirmed that the actions pertaining to the removal of Rokkenjiman twitter accounts official status was done by a disgruntled Administrator without direction. The admin is being reprimanded and the accounts reset. The San Fierro based company urged caution before jumping to conclusions on the legitimacy of the new government.   Music | TV | Movies | Celebs | Other 90's Kids Rejoice: 90's cartoon channel confirmed  Satellite provider DASHing today confirmed that a new dedicated channel for re-runs of old 90's shows, notably cartoons, had been confirmed. The programming will be available worldwide and will feature many of the old shows that marked the 90's and late 80's. A direct starting lineup has not been confirmed but Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Animaniacs, Dexter's Laboratory, Tiny Toons, Freakazoid, Rugrats and Johnny Bravo have all been directly confirmed. Twitter and Facbook are both abuzz already with the announcement - With most of "90's kids" who would be the primary audience of such a network having small children of their own it is estimated that, regardless of reruns and possibly a reboot or two, the channel will gain rapid viewership to match mainstream childrens programming during peak hours. The channels name was confirmed by Time Immemorial TV to be "RadTV", a play on words with "Radical". A launch date is expected to be announced in the coming days. Music | TV | Movies | Celebs| Other  A very 'greendale' start to marketing campaign for Community movie - Mascot arrested for public indecency DUQUESNE HILLS - Duquesne Police confirmed that a Jebidiah Kermen, a employee of FAWX entertainment, was arrested for public indecency; The crime, allegedly 'showing himself innapropriately' to tourists in a mascot outfit. Jebidiah confirmed thathe had been payed by FAWX to run around in the suit 'causing hype' for the new Community movie that is in the works, fulfilling the prophecy outlined in season 2 of 'six seasons and a movie'. The show is based around eight misfit students of various backgrounds and ages becoming friends over time at a misfit diploma mill community college in Jackson, 'Greendale Community College', the mascot being the "Greendale Human Being" FAWX did not state if Kermen was specifically instructed to get himself arrested, however a corporate official did pay his bail.
