Hi all, As Dave is on Leave of Absence until 10 August, I think it's best we establish a procedure for the upcoming CTO election. Secretary-General Elections The current term ends on 11 August, meaning we are required to elect a new Secretary-Genera before that date. The schedule for this will be: Nominations open: 6 August (for 72 hours) Elections open: 9 August (for 48 hours) As Tim Carpenter has only served one term, he is entitled to stand again. Security Council Elections The current term ends 18 August, so the new Secretary-General will be able to run these elections. The schedule for this will be: Nominations open: 11 August (for 96 hours) Elections open: 15 August (for 72 hours) The following nations are disqualified from standing for election: Nueva Ardia, Achkaerin, South Hills, the UNP, Seaforth and Odmony. As Rokkenjima took over the seat after 45 days in the previous term, they are entitled to stand for reelection. |

Normally I would take this opportunity to remind everyone that we have passed an amendment somewhere that synchronizes these two elections to occur at the same time. However considering the map situation at the present moment running the two separately may be preferable especially since the expansion may affect the number of seats available on the SC. |

The election synchronisation did not put the two elections together, they just ensured the terms would both be three months so they happen close together. |

Memories of university... do we just give up on common sense here? Putting them both at three month terms especially with only a weeks difference surely suggests that a more sensible approach of having the elections occur at the same time is logical. But as I've said that's not the point on this occasion, the point is that before the Security Council elections occur we need to have processed the relocation submissions on the map and that really does need to happen this week. |

Eh, I still think it'd be easier to have them separate. But I s'pose that's the SG controller's choice. |
