Not at all. I think it accentuates Gads calves very nicely and the colour makes Gads eyes pop! Overall, I would describe Gadshack in that dress as "Willowy".

Sounds fun to me. The key with debates, in my opinion anyway, is making sure the topic is something that'll actually generate some friction. In personal politics, NSers tend to lean left/libertarian on average (I'm no exception), although obviously exceptions do exist. That means that if we were to have a debate on, say, gay marriage, the death penalty or legalizing weed or some such topic, we'd either get a complete circlejerk, or worse, one poor dissenter would be fending off a much larger team against him. Some debaters can handle that fine and thrive on it, sure, but I tend to think the best debates come from issues that split the opinion of the group taking part.

I'm not dismissing any of those topics above, but personally I have found they're pretty tired matters of debate on internet forums. We should seek topics that spark and divide. Your mileage may vary. From a British perspective, I've always found the pro/anti-monarchist debate to be a good one. More globally, the ethics of nuclear weapons (scrap them/keep them) tends to be fun. If I think of more topics I'll air them.

Well back in University we had six assessed debates in a module I did- the death penalty, rights of 'extremist' political parties to be heard on media discussion program's (any Brits think Nick Griffin on Question Time), we had the torture in terrorist situations, there was a sports one that I can't remember as well.

think that would be a good set up, have different modules/genre's and whatever topic comes up, comes up then it can switched up every once and a while.

so how about:
- Political
- Cultural
- Social
- Sports
- Media
- Funny

Well to give a helping hand I actually dug out the debating schedule from my university days, these are the topics we did six of which were assessed:

1) 'This House believes that the death penalty should be reintroduced in the UK for those convicted of murder and/or serious sexual assaults on children.’

2) 'This House believes that the representatives of political parties with extremist views/policies should not be allowed to participate in media discussion programmes.’

3) 'This House believes that anyone with artificial body parts or an abnormal genetic condition that could possibly confer an unfair advantage should not be allowed to participate in mainstream sporting competitions. '

4) 'This House believes that the use of torture by a State or any agency acting on its behalf is justified in certain circumstances.’

5) ‘This house believes that it is right that anyone found to be engaging in illegal file sharing activities should be denied access to the internet for a period of time.’

6) 'This House believes that husbands and wives (and parties to a Civil Partnership) should automatically receive half of the assets owned by either and/or both of them on divorce/dissolution.’

7) ‘This House believes that voluntary euthanasia should be legalised in the UK.’

8) 'This House believes that gay couples should not be allowed to adopt a child'

9) 'This House believes that trial by Jury has outlived its usefulness'

I'm a Brit so obviously these refer to the UK but you get the idea.

Okay so to begin we're going to have a central subject BUT, it will not be an open debate, it will be a 2v2 or 1v1 and after this main debate, the panel will open for questions and debate among the masses.

the following subjects are up for debate:
- Capital punishment is the only way to deter criminals.
- Church is a positive factor in our society.
- Democracy doesn't work.
- Capitalism is not a fair society.
- Equality of opportunities in a society is only a dream.

PM me your vote. If your volunteering for the debate panel rank each subject to you liking and mark your stance on each one by naming F or A beside them, meaning For or Against.

when things are formed up, the debate will begin ^^

last call, if not i'll throw myself in the ring to be butchered by these two.

In edition, both may collaborate and decide which subject will be at the centre of the debate since they were the first team.

PM me about it guys.

Are you sure? You have to really believe in the subjects stated above, either you're for them or you're against them

Well, it's sort of hard to be generally for everything, as I have varying opinions on different things. Really, it just depends on the subject we're debating.
