 EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH KING KYLE BARREN Earlier this week the Free Mundus Network gained an exclusive interview with one of Mundus' most controversial figures, King Kyle Barren, leader of the Borland Seperatists, and more recently Prince of Northern Borland, a semi-autonomous principality within the land border of Zimalia. Barren sat and spoke with one of our journalists and answered a variety of questions on a range of subjects. FMN The Principality of Northern Borland is fast approaching six months of life, how are things going there? KB Life there is good, in so much as a massive building project can be. When we acquired permission to establish the Principality of President Lewes it was essentially just a collection of mud and wood huts, today it has a decent standard of home for 10,000, a further 50,000 have been accomodated in temporary housing and we have plans to get them homed within a year. The town there before had no running water, no sanitation and no health care, under my reign we've got running water in 40% of homes, access to water for everyone else, we have our own small health centre and last month opened our high school for the first 200 students. We're making a real go of it. FMN Do you feel that Northern Borland's future growth is hampered by your presence. KB You know maybe, the issue is this though, we've done more for this area in six months than the Zimalian's were able to do in decades. That's no offence meant to President Lewes, he has enough problems and a whole country to try and improve. But lets just look at how Northern Borland came to be, inaction. The Zimalian virus, or whatever people call it these days, was ripping its way through the people here and nobody stepped in, the international community with its mega bucks and big business sat back and watched. It was left to us, a group of Freedom fighters to step in and try and do what we could. From the ashes of that disease we have bounced back and we'll continue to do so regardless of international support, although it would be nice to have our hardwork recognised. FMN Is this wish to have "hardwork recognised" the reason for your announcement of a disarmament? KB Partly, you see we've tried before to be statesman. We seems to be in an no win situation and going round and round. We try and fight for our freedom and birthrite only to get labelled terrorists, we acquire land that no one else wants in the form of High Rock, only for Dartfordia and there allies to quiet literally blast it from under us. Next we legally purchase land and get given permission to establish the Principality, we reach out to the international community and we get called illegitamate. We can't win, people want us to give up our armed struggle and when we do we make no progress. I hope this offer of disarmament shows the world we are serious about the Principality becoming part of an international community. FMN Do you think that is a realistic aim? KB I don't see why not. Take Acquitane, their Cartier was supporting the Sorority, he was aiding terrorists, now he's hailed as some kind of national hero in a newly formed nation that great powers like Rokkenjima have supported with no hesitation. In the past I have shown a commitment to the international community, I have signed the MCUR, I have signed the Uppsala Convention and I have stepped in to aid Zimalia when no one else would. We now see nations stepping in to aid refugees being lauded as great examples of international humanitarians yet no one mentioned our aid effort which risked the lives of our medics at all. FMNHow do you think an internationally recognised Principality would deal internationally. KB Ask the President of Zimalia, we've been good neighbours. We've offered to be good neighbours to the world on several occasions, once that recognition comes we could follow legal avenues to get our homeland back. I mean how can a nationality access things such as international courts when they aren't given that recognition? Us Borlanders are people of great faith, and our Cult of Helus I believe is a template for good foreign relations, aiding those in need, being hospitable, being charitable, keeping our words etc, all principles of our faith. I have great dreams that my people will be able to enjoy such things as competing in international sports, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the IFFA World Cup, I'd also like to see us offer some economic opportunities to the world, us Borlanders have a lot to offer. FMN Final question. With no heir are you concerned about your Kingdom's future?[/b] KB I think my thoughts on the death of my son are well documented. You'll forgive me therefore if I keep my private life exactly that way for the time being, I wouldn't wish my children to be targeted for murder once more. |

Utmans: The Worlds Forgotten Victims  Utman men being scrutinised by Lakhzov soldiers at a checkpoint in Khalin We live in a time when the worlds attention is sharply focused on the plight of the victims of war. Scarcely a day goes by without media headlines or politician speeches about the humanitarian crisis that the wars have created or the refugee wave that is forcing the issue to the fore of political agendas. However at a time when the worlds focus is sharply turned on the lives of the victims of war one group finds itself ignored. For thirty years the Utman people have lived with the appalling consequences of losing the civil war. Persecuted, underprivileged and despised by the Lakhzov majority life has been made intolerable. Today world leaders from some of the most respected nations on Mundus are being hosted by President Sachim Kadassa a man regarded by some as a war criminal and violent dictator. Accusations have arisen of government policies designed to facilitate the ethnic cleansing of the Utman people from their traditional homelands. These policies include the sealing off of large areas of the region effectively severing the connections between Utman communities, while in the city checkpoints and roadblocks disrupt the flow of everyday life sometimes preventing people to return home after work if a checkpoint has been closed, something that appears to happen arbitrarily. With mounting tensions and the introduction of new laws apparently designed to dispossess the Utman of their land fear and anger are beginning to rise. However unlike previous waves of protest that took the form of spontaneous and easily repressed riots, a new organised movement is forming with at least three different groups seeking to redress historical grievances and win freedom for the Utman people. The Utman are a people overlooked by the world, their suffering ignored by a world political order that would rather flatter and deal with a dictator than use their immense diplomatic power to force Lakhzovia to grant the Utman people the human rights they deserve. If things continue as they are violence is sure to follow, perhaps then the world will take notice. |

 QUEEN OF SEAFORTH INTERVIEW Its been a hectic few months for the new Queen of Seaforth, a battle against drug addiction, a war that tore apart her homeland and a marriage to a man attempting to cement his position as King of Seaforth. The Free Mundus Network managed to acquire an exclusive interview with Queen Alys. How are you finding life in Seaforth? Seaforth is very different from Marseille. There was some culture shock, different people, cooler climate. Some Seaforthians don't like me very much because of my marriage to King Richard. Others like the familiarity of a monarch and treat me with the deference and respect due to the Queen of Seaforth. Isn't the Queen of Seaforth actually called the Queen-Consort, an honorary title and position with no real power or influence? Richard has done away with that practice. In the modern world, women are a vital asset, the equal of men. In the past, the Queen-consort was married to the King and her only job was to bear an heir and manage the household. Richard expects much more from me and Seaforth deserves a Queen rather than a Queen-consort. How is the recovery from addition? It's a daily battle. I will always be an addict. What I must do is accept the fact that relapse if a part of recovery and do the best I can to move forward and make good choices. What future role do you see for yourself in Seaforth? I am Queen of Seaforth and all that entails. I will lend myself to worthy causes, act as a representative of Seaforth in diplomatic engagements and do the best I can to promote the status and prosperity of Seaforth. One day, Richard and myself will bring the Grand Duchy of Marseille into the fold...the beginnings of a Grand Empire. What are your views towards the Aquitane situation? I am of two minds about it. In the Grand Duchy of Marseille the were only three dukes. The Grand Duke and Duchess of Marseille, The Duke and Duchess of Orleans and The Duke and Duchess of Normandy. The history of Marseille is very much like that of East Moreland. Just as there is no King of Borland, there is no such Duchess of Aquitane. On the other hand, I am pleased that my realm has not completely degenerated into factional warbands and under the thumb of the traitor Anna La Montange and the Sorority of Materna. I did not know General Cartier very well, but what I remember of him he was a very capable man, a patriot, and the best chance this pretender has to bring stability to Eastern Marseille. Can you explain what your relationship with the Sorority was? I was and am a follower of Materna. At no time was I ever a member of the Sorority. In my youth and my addiction, I placed my trust in Anna La Montange. I was betrayed, just as she betrayed the people of Marseille and brought death and suffering to nations around the world. Do you think your presence in Seaforth will effect the nations relationships with other nations? In some instances it will be difficult, but nothing that cannot be overcome. I have been questioned intensively by the Archon's people and by Achkaerin Justicars. I have been cleared of culpability in the actions of the Sorority and I look forward to moving past this and working to repair the Grand Duchy of Marseille and rebuild relationships internationally. We understand you had an argument with former CTO Secretary-General Tim Carpenter, can you explain what happened? To my shame I cannot accurately recall that meeting. I was very frustrated with the situation. Marseille was under immense pressure, despite my efforts I was ostracized by Empress Beatrice and many world leaders. I was deep into my addiction when I met Mr. Carpenter. I can only hope he will one day accept my most sincere apology or my behavior and for striking him. Analysis: The Utman Crisis  Rioters clash with Territorial Guard Officers in Khalin the city that has been at the center of much of the violence Lakhzovia is now facing a second month of deadly violence as the Utman population appears to be rising in revolt of 30 years of Lakhzov rule. With the death toll reaching 2341 Lakhzov dead and 6549 Utman killed in clashes the government has been unable to effectively control the situation. The question of course arises why now? what has changed that has led to the sudden tidal wave of violence? Many point to the passing in to legislation numerous acts which empower special courts to make binding rulings on land disputes, this has opened the door to numerous claims by ethnic Lakhzov against Utman communities and individuals often on the flimsiest of evidence. The whole scale dispossession of Utman peasants certainly has a role to play; however there is more going on here than a simple reaction to the new laws. The violence has been exceptional in that it demonstrates a level of organisation which can only come from a centralised body with popular support among at least some sections of the Utman population. Some analysts had sensed this change a number of months back noting that a more political, organised form of resistance was growing in the Utman territories this recent violence appears to mark the first fruits of this new found organisation, what will be of particular concern to Lakhzovia is that the conditions for a full blown revolt are falling in to place. Who are these new organisations? So far there has been little evidence to provide many clues, however it would appear that at least some within the network are educated chemists and it is strongly suspected that the leadership comprises former Utman officers from the last days of the United Peoples' Republic and given the geographical distribution of attacks it can be said with a certain amount of confidence that the command structure is based in the flash point city of Khalin. Lakhzovia watchers have noticed certain indications that the leadership is split on how to respond to the crisis, this is seen most potently in Lakhzovia's apparent willingness to at least articulate that they would consider instituting new policies to improve the situation of the Utman community; a year ago this would have been unthinkable. Even for those who dismiss Lakhzovia's statement regarding improved Utman conditions as an attempt to mollify the international community the very fact that they articulated such a possibility is exceptional having never happened before in the entire 30 years since the end of the civil war. Whether this anomalous offer is an indicator of a softening within some of the leadership or an act of deceit it suggests that the dynamic within the leadership is in a state of flux. Unfortunately this doesn't automatically transform in to good news for the Utman. If indeed the leadership is actually feeling unsure of itself for the first time in thirty years then that could have drastic consequences. It is entirely possible that the government fearing the destabilisation to be caused if the violence turns in to a full blown revolt may attempt to preempt the situation and launch a military assault on the Utman populace. As unlikely as this might seem it is impossible to predict how the Kadassa regime would react to the fear of the loss of power, with the world currently focused on the Zachachevanian use of Napalm in Helgara the regime may feel that the current conjunction offers a rare opportunity to carry out wide scale ethnic cleansing before the world community has time to take notice and formulate a full response. Beyond these possibilities the future is impossible to predict, however it is the opinion of at least one well respected professor of international politics that it would be impossible for the Utman to obtain independence if it were to launch an armed uprising at the present time, he warns that such an event would lead to a humanitarian disaster that would set the Utman population back a decade. |

The Next Step For Helgara After recent strings of deaths among the Helgaran elite, the country is at a crossroads. There are many questions; who will now lead the country? How will they deal with the damage from the recent conflicts? And the dissatisfaction from large portions of the population? Currently High Paladin Victor seems to be the one who has to come up with these answers. Victor is generally well-liked, known as a brilliant military general and one of the more important member of the military top brass. Since the formation of the Helgara Collective, he has had the hard task of coordinating efforts between the Paladin Sects and national military. Many believe that his former role has given him the skills necessary to unite the divided nation. But there are still many unanswered questions. Who is responsible for the deaths of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Secretary of State, Oracle Fellros, and High Commander Marr? While no one has directly accused Victor, there is growing group that is questioning his rise to power. This group is lead by Oracle Daiku and Oracle Miz. Sadly, Oracle Miz has been able to do little with his ever declining health. Sources close to him report that it won't be long until the Oracle passes away. As for Daiku, she is young, lacking the connections and experience to really push for answers. If foul play was used, in the current situation, it is not likely to be uncovered. And if that wasn't foreboding enough, Victor has declared martial law. While in another nation this wouldn't be a problem, the current Helgaran constitution directly states that martial law, in any form and for any reason, is illegal. When questioned about this, Victor simply stated that, "the constitution would need to be fixed and changed and until then the provisional government would have total power to do what must be done." Victor has promised elections when it is possible, but has given no timetable or conditions, giving little creditability to his words. It seems that with the end of hostilities in sight, there is still no end to Helgara's problems. |

 KINGS BLOOD TAKE "PRINCE" JAMES. BARREN DEMANDS RELEASE A video has emerged showing James Ironside, formally a Prince of East Moreland, in the hands of the Kings Blood group whom many nations have labelled terrorists. The organisation have managed to find James who has been wanted by East Moreland authorities for almost a year after escaping from Northfort Military Prison. It is thought the group found him hiding in Zimalia amongst a small community there who were unaware of his real identity. The "Prince", aged 26, is currently expecting to be a father after a girl who he meet while hiding with a religious community became pregnant. The video released by King's Blood showed the "Prince" tied to a chair along with several clues as to when the video was made and where. It would appear to have been filmed in Sparta as the capital cities skyline can be seen in the distance while the main speaker, identified as Simon Miller, shows copies of the days newspapers. It is thought the video is authentic. During his brief speech the man demands all Borlanders held in prisons around the world, whom he called "Prisoners of Conscience" be released before offering to spare those nations that do from " punishment". The video has yet to draw any response from nations across Mundus the exception being from the Principality of Northern Borland. King Kyle Barren of the Principality of Northern Borland said, "I think the King's Blood group are doing our nation more harm than good. We have dedicated ourselves to peace in the Principality and our work there shows it, we've built some new schools, tried building a hospital and then see it destroyed. James Ironside is not a pawn to be used in this game, I would urge my cousin Sarah Wallis-Campbell to release James into the custody of a nation such as the UNP on condition that he not be sent back to East Moreland, I fear his trial was nothing but a joke and his punishment unjust. He must be given justice. While I too would like to see Borlanders held unjustly around the world freed this is not the way." Barren went on to talk about his CTO hopes, "The Rokkenjiman proposal is just a joke, our Kingdom is built upon the monarchy who are dedicated to leading our nation, people who are guided by the Gods, our people are loyal to the King and I am in turn loyal to them and to Helus, the fact Rokkenjima fails to see the insult to that system is a slight insult to the Cult, a faith that says that a person must show loyalty to their monarch. To take away their monarch is unjust. I am also surprised that they seem to ignore the work that is happening in the Principality, what other so called "Terrorist" group builds hospitals and schools? I'd be intrigued if the Empress could tell us that." |

Buddhist Terrorism?  Four Truths Child Soldiers in a Black Market Before Being Arrested by Shogunate Authorities There has been a war raging on, in the Land of the Samurai, an idealogical one in the face of the Death of the Darai Rama, Toshikawa's central leader of the Buddhist religion and Leader of the National Temple. His death has led to the search for next Darai Rama, however this is no normal ritual search across the land. Some of the Darai Rama's last words were that he was the last Buddha to be reincarnated, often alluding to the prospect that the Buddha has never been reincarnated and niether is he. This has created more tension among the traditional and progressive lanes of the communities. Traditionalist believe strictly in the old teachings, not willing to accept any modern scientific ideals or evidence that deject the original lessons of the Buddha(the first Darai Rama). Progressives are the closest to the National Temple, embracing the modern, liberal Darai Rama's word. Extremism has developed on both sides, but the most noticeable is the Four Truths. In the early 2000s Hase Tutyame was arrested for religious haye speech against Christians and Muslims in Toshikawa. He was released in 2014, quickly rising through the traditionalist Buddhist ranks with his book, "The Real Noble Truths." otherwise known as the "Four Truths." Quickly things became violent when over 1,000 monks were arrested for slaughtering Muslim communities in his name. Hase Tutyame called it 'justice' and the "Unfortunate but necessary Sacrifice for wordly truth and dharma." Recently now, over 300 raids across Toshikawa has effectively siezed attacks and the former group known as the 'Four Truths' is in shambles. Toshikawa authroities say the Buddhist temple is under control, however Hase Tutyame is no where to be found and nor are his closest advisor's despite the entire organization being torn apart by the Shogunate. But there are still supporters out there... It's estimated 10,000 monks believe in Hase's ideal but few have devoutly followed and acted upon his calls for terror. But support is still there, Shogunate forces continue to effectively fight the remnants 9f the Four Truth's. VIDEO REPORT Live Report From Nueva Ardia "I'm Harry Fuentes, reporting live from Nueva Ardia, the capital of Lacuna." the reporter said, standing ona balcony overlooking the dark city. "It has been about two weeks since the power had been shut off by Toshikawan cyber attacks, but we have some backup generator's that are still running, barely, we've been able to get some rather slow internet connectivity, but I am still able to get through to you for live reporting on the situation here." the video skipped and paused for a few seconds, finally coming back. "Have been scavenging and the situation here has been just about apocalyptic, with the outbreak of disease and the overhanging threat of possible Toshikawan invasion, Nueva Ardia is cut off from the entire world. No ships have came in from the port, many materials and chemicals brought in to farm have been halted and the infrastructure to transport goods like food have been disabled, so this country has literally been starving. However what's even worse is the water situation, the military has been overrun and their stockpiles raided as people try to rush in desperation for a drop. Around 1 million plus have already died from starvation and dehydration, or that's what we can safely estimate though experts here say it's well over 3 million." A sudden explosion in the background at downtown of the city interrupted him. "My god, there a large explosions, no two, three, it's just continues and we can feel the shock waves. Loud screeching jets are heard above but not seen in the night." the image cutout for 2 minutes, then came back. "They are car-" it cut out again, screams and explosions closing in could be heard. "They are carpet bombing the city!" the reporter yelled out. "There was also a substantially loud explosion as the regional military base, a loud flash and fire spread into the ci-!" the image suddenly cut out with a loud defining bang. Analysis: Toshikawa's Redfound Imperialist Policy of the Century  Since the end of the Warring Period, Toshikawa has been heading in an inevitable direction of conquering and manipulation. It's typical, ever since the nation's history has been first recorded there have always been strong period of rise, then instability, nearly all of this involving war. Toshikawa's economy has grown to love war, it's what drives the spirit of the Bushi Code, which above the Shogun, governs the country. The national education, welfare and economic management is left of to the Shogunate, a clearly defined military organization that governs the country. What is a militarizes purpose? To defend a nation, however it's not a thriving business if there's nothing to defend it against. Combined with Toshikawa's seemingly convincing charisma and manipulation on the world stage peace is almost garanteed for domestic economics, however this is self sabatoging for the Shogunate, an organization that needs war to stay in power. Even Sora Yoshimo, admitted that the Shogunate is a system that needs to be torn down but won't until peace put's it out of the business and the aristocracy of the Samurai won't have a leg to stand on. This has been tried to be accomplished by Shogun Aang Yoshimo, trying to incite democracy in Toshikawa finding that the ideology failed horribly at the peak of Samurai dominion of Toshikawa. However it sent the nation into it's warring period, the overthrown regim itself responsible for millions of deaths. Before this, Toshikawa considered a strong nation, a threat to the Federal Republic, in which Toshikawa sought to liberate Rokkenjima from the viewed 'Ardian Government'. In the 60s and 70s, Toshikawa intervened in the nations of Takeda and annexed them swiftly, the lest costly war in Toshikawan history. Beforehand however, after World War two and the occupation of the Qinjing homelands, Toshikawa commenced the genocide of over 10 million Qinjingese, essentially wiping out the ehtnic group of people, deemed too poor and unworthy of Toshikawan satisfaction. Throughout the victorian era leading up to World War One, these same events can be recorded, like every other occupied territory in Toshikawan history, the inhabitants were forces to work or die, leading to mass killing in unstable working conditions. This would lead to Toshikawan colonization. However in the modern era Toshikawa has abandon it's eugenics ideals, though most still do view themselves higher than any nation. The nation widely has economic dependencies on Rokkenjima and other parts of the world, along with alliances and integration into the CTO with a generation of wiser Shogunate's and constitutional limitations, it's expected Toshikawa will remain on the straight and narrow. However what is happening now is far from that. Toshikawa, will little evidence other than disclosed military word, have invaded Nueva Ardia at the cost of millions in carpet bombings, rumored to exclusively target civilians to discourage any Guerilla action, what Nueva Ardia is known for. But Sora was killed by the Nueva Ardian government and Hase Tutyame apparrently, these are perhaps facts but does it justify the invasion> The loss of millions of lives? The fact of the matter is: Toshikawan Military Intelligence truly doesn't know what happened and they admit to it, in fact little intelligence but a unverified message from Mako Yoshimo within country can indicate that, which came through Toshikawan networks and can't be verified as authentic. Even as we speak, the Shogunate is releasing a five year plan for Nueva Ardia occupation, describing in detail the cleansing of Nueva Ardia by eliminating rebels and associations with Tero Melos and Hase Tutyame, then prescribe it under Daimyo rule. With may change however, as the Rokkenjimans are expected to keep the situation and generally, Toshikawa in check with their treaty. But again, Toshikawa has shown that it can manipulate and conspire against international opposition to get what they want countlessly. Currently, an inhumane war is being raged well against the Uppsala Convention yet, most turn a blind eye. Achkaerin's Crown Princess Surrenders to Enlightenment  Good evening everyone I'm Caspar Schiffer of the Free Mundus Network. Ever since the conflict in Supreme Sovereignty started we at the Free Mundus Network have been doing our best to gather the Enlightenment's side of the story to report on their point of view, this style of journalism has afforded us exclusive access to high profile figures within the movement. In the early hours of this morning that access meant that we were informed by the leadership of the movement that they now hold Crown Princess Serenity Azurewind of Achkaerin prisoner. Upon further investigation we have discovered that the Crown Princess was not taken by force, rather she gave herself up to prevent an escalation of an Enlightenment attack around the main base of CIS operations, this in my opinion speaks either highly of the Crown Princess's character or it speaks of a high risk gamble paying off. The Crown Princess is presently around seven months pregnant with what will be her first child, it is not known why the Enlightenment sought to target the Crown Princess in this way but it can't be anything good. For the better part of a week now Achkaerin aircraft have been patrolling just outside Zimalian airspace and Mr.Mulamba confirmed this was not the first incident between the air force of his nation and the Achkaerin Air Force. "Some time ago we have had to warn their planes about approaching our air-space. We view this as nothing but a poor attempt at provoking our nation into conflict. We are a peace loving nation and we have turned the other cheek many times in the face of these aggressive moves by several nations." Tensions on Alba Karinya have been raising since the Principality of Borland was declared a sovereign nation by Zimalia followed the sale of land to King Kyle Barren of Borland and the Borland Folk. This however has not been widely internationally recognised and the CTO have been accused of dragging their feet over the issue. In the meantime East Moreland forces are known to have carried out many incursions into Zimalia. It had been thought the Achkaerin forces were present to deter attacks however the recent announcement by the Zimalian government seems to suggest they are supporting East Moreland attacks. When asked East Moreland press secretary Malcolm Tucker refused to answer questions on the announcement preferring to say, "Our nation has always done what we must to defend our citizens and this is something we shall continue to do." He's fought in three theatre's with his world renown group of Guerilla's. Fight Against Rising Crime Rate In Andean  Toshikawan led forces which invaded Nueva Ardia have since the invasion established an overall vassal police state in order to stabilize the region. The crime rate was expected, however what was not expected was the sudden hike of resistance when Toshikawan building and city developers came in. While many Andean collage students demanded collages to re-open, many left when the schools were to be Toshikawan or Rokkenjiman led and funded. This has happened in many other areas as well, with the planned reconstruction of all affected cities by the war, as well as re-vitalizing the entire' coutry's infastructure in general. This has led to to beginning of cultural assimilation, every day it seems the Toshikawan cultural influence in Andean grows and many, seem to accept it as fact. Ed Guerrez, a working man before the war, says alot of opportunity has come into Nueva Ardia these days. "We have been through alot and we remember what war looks like. This is alot better. My family is happy and sustained, I'm tired of fighting a revolution or being resistant, I just want to live. I think most Nueva Ardians need to wake up to the fact that we prosper greater under capitalism and that the Toshikawan methods have honestly, already brought an abundance of income and recovery to my country." and most Nueva Ardians do seeem to believe this, they're tired of fighting and more everyday, many turn their backs on the faint revolution of Zavala Rodriguez. But there is still a significant portion of the country which sees all of this as injustice and rightly so. The leaders of this rebellious attitude are what is considered the spike in crime, the Andino Gangs. "We don't want their culture, we don't want their buildings. I am Andino, I want to be me, I want to independent in my thought. My homie Andino's and Negro's feel the same cut, for my leader Tero Melos, may he live in peace." meanwhile Toshikawan authorities blatantly attack any resistance, many of the lower scale communities, the poor(over 80%) have reported ruthless beatings and mistreatment by foreign police forces, with only 10% of the polciing force being native. Toshikawan Ministry of Andean reports: "Not enough native officers are willing to join the police force, So we've had to institute our own policing force." UNION OF NORDIC PEOPLE GOES DARK  Late last night a terrible confusion gripped possibly the most peaceful nation of Mundus, for several hours many here in the capital believed that they had been targeted by a series of giant bombs, the reality is however much more devastating. This was no strike by an enemy nation, after all the UNP had no enemies, they were a nation intent on peace and neutrality and found themselves often acting in the role of peace maker. In Uppsala a violent Earthquake tore into the capital, measuring around an 8 on the Richter Scale, soon after the sea broke through the walls near the harbour flooding the lower of parts of the city, many homes collapsed leaving thousands trapped, this however was not an end to their misery. Some minutes after the Earthquake struck a terrible thunder could be heard and soon a shock wave like nothing I have ever witnessed hit, it picked people on the street up and threw them several feet, those brave buildings that once stood in Uppsala gave up their feet leaving only a handful of their concrete brothers standing, including the Riksdag building. As people, including myself began to emerge from the rubble fires had begun to break out across the city and an erie glow could be seen in the far of distance. The Nords are a religious people, they follow their ancient God of Odin proudly, last night many believed this could only be the beginning of Ragnarok, the end of time. Several hours later I had managed to make my way to the Riksdag, a round building standing proudly on its island, securing permission to enter as a member of the press I witnessed chaos, horror and then absolute devastation at what I learnt. This had been no military strike, it had been not a bombardment from a powerful enemy, but rather a strike from the heavens themselves, a meteor had struck the nation, a large one by all reports, somewhere out in the cold countryside of the UNP a meteor had impacted Mundus creating a wave of destruction, igniting a fireball nearly 100km wide, sending the shockwave and Earthquake that my research tells me was even felt in Krokom in the neighbouring nation, how far away in the end it was felt I can not confirm. News began to filter in as Air Force pilots that had managed to find serviceable machines flew sorties relaying information back here, all grim news, whole towns lying flat, forests on fire, forests smashed into matchsticks. I had the impression that no one was in charge, no Minister had presented themselves at the Riksdag, communications where all but down, people relying on satellite phones or old fashioned radio. Then just as darkness began to fall, whether from the giant dust cloud now enveloping the nation or just the natural setting of the sun I couldn't tell. The government had gone, with the UNP cabinet meeting to determine the years coming policies it appears the whole government leadership structure had gone, they had been meeting out in the countryside , just a few kilometres from what was now being called Ground Zero. It took most of the night to contact experts, get people brought in, begin sifting through the rubble but early estimates seem bad, initial reports show that no major city escaped, Uppsala being the furthest from the blast had stood the best chance, and here I stood in the rubble of my hotel as I complete this article. The news began to filter out via a handful of still functioning radio's, they had little electricity left, that would be diverted to hospitals and the military who valiantly began efforts to aid those, but where to start, in a nation of roughly 80 million it is estimated that at least 30million are probably dead, a further 15million injured, many out in the wilds, and here in Uppsala, a city of around 800,000 souls the emergency response has hardly even begun to touch the surface. The Union is in crisis, it is rudderless and many here believe it is doomed. |

Great Toshindai Famine Strikes  With no central government and reserves completely depleted, all of Toshindai has slipped into an ongoing famine. Rennyo reports massive shortages while trying to take in refugees and they only keep coming, with millions being turned back forcefully at gunpoint. Meanwhile everywhere else food and clean water is hard to come by. An outbreak of Cholera has lead to a strain of other diseases affecting Toshindai with millions now homeless or on migration after the war. How the CSU and CTO Backed the Andean Genocide, Leading to 100 million Deaths Globally Connected to Toshindai  On-field Journalism by Bill Simmons I recently visited Nueva Ardia for one month to cover their story of reprise after the Second Andean Revolution against the ruling Toshindainese government. What I witnessed was a horrific wake, left behind by the toil of war and blatant genocide by the Eastern conquerors from the Ardian Peninsula. When Toshindai first invaded, the Army and Navy were entirely dismantled by the intense bombing campaign of the Toshindai airforce. The entire country was scorched by the deliberate bombing of cities. Free Mundus Network covered the start of the invasion live, where our reporter was never found and is presumed dead among the remaining rubble, where thousands are still missing among the aftermath. A journalist can ask the locals, and be filled with the anger that they express. However, one may think these are only words of emotional distraught after a series of traumatizing unrest, digging deeper I find that there is truth in these words though. Exclusively, FMN has been allowed to discuss with Zavala Rodriguez, who will be representing Nueva Ardia in the CTO. "The CSU and indeed the CTO has been major contributors and enablers of the recent atrocity committed on out homeland." Zavala says. "Millions have died, and those indirectly responsible, who enabled it only send their condolences, or hardly a recognition of our struggles. It is okay, Nueva Ardia has always proved themsselves against the current." I looked deeper into Zavala's words, though he assured us with facts that he had garnered, FMN delved deeper to truly uncover as to why Nueva Ardia saw the CSU and CTO as an enemy. Uncovering the wars, Toshindai was under heavy financial and economic stress, to support their Military industrial complex, the Shogunate secured an array of economic deals, those pertaining to the CSU and political manipulation within the CTO. While the world was busy deliberating over Borland, with political discourse evolving with Rokkenjima and Achkaerin against eachother the stage was set for Toshindai to wage war against Nueva Ardia. A war which causes are confused and still questioned today. Toshindai had adopted the Ducat and in many ways was directly financially aided by the CSU through Rokkenjima, specifically in the bailout which saved the Toshindai economy for the time being. FMN looked deeply into this, however it was very well known, though not recognized by many government's around the world, that Toshindai was deliberately targeting civilians on the Andean Peninsula and carrying out a series of aggressive unwarranted attacks against the Andean People. Even when these reports were confirmed, even by Toshindai media itself, the funds kept coming through and the Toshindai military machine kept bombing, shooting and starving out people on the Peninsula. During the alleged genocide of the Andean People, the CSU happily bailed out the failing Toshi economy. This only continued the slaughter and paid for the extensive cultural assimilation programs the Taira Shogunate put in place. Tech Sgt. Yoneda Mitsuo spent his young years in the military, at 22 he was deployed to the Peninsula as one of the first marines on the beaches. "It was underwhelming, and the others would agree." Yoneda said. "There was glory in it because it was tame, we passed destroyed military complexes, bases, we saw the might of out airforce. Every once and a while a few pop shots would pass over us. It was horrifying to see the many displaced people, that's when many started to question it in the back of their head. But then we witnessed bombings, and more bombings, and more. Anyone was a Guerilla spy, a co-conspirator against the government and therefore needed to be killed." Yoneda took a break from the interview, not wanting to continue. "I killed many, most I have questioned. It was chaotic, dishonorable but most of all deliberate, and I will have to live with that." a few days later after we interviewed Mr. Mitsuo he committed suicide. In this, the CSU bailout funded the direct killing and deliberate starvation of 30 million Andeans. The systematic torture, killing and re-education of a people well above the magnitude of the USR went entirely unnoticed because of Toshindai's deep rooted associations with the right people. More so, Toshindai has a seat on the Security Council and the CTO gave the 'okay' for the invasion. Even after the brutal reports, it went ignored to what seems like political manipulation and vote buying on the part of Toshindai. In this, we have unveiled the corruption and/or incompetence of the worldly 'good guy' administration. So in short, the reality: the CSU funded the Andean Genocide while the CTO enabled it, all did this knowingly. Not since the USR has something like this happened, but this even surpasses the wield of the USR, making it child's play. CSU money funded the death of 30 Million on the Andean Peninsula, allowed the funding of a space mission which killed 40 to 50 million in UNP, by the hand's of the Toshindai Shogunate. And that same enabled Toshindai system, led to the death of 25 million of it's own people. Will Toshindai answer for these crimes? Most likely not, they have the bureaucracy on their side. Meanwhile, in northern Ardia the Toshandai government were perpetrating the most violent and destructive genocide in Mundus in its history. The media in Rokkenjima, Dartfordia, East Moreland and her other allies kept quiet as innocent civilians were raped and slaughtered, innocent children massacred by a government funded by the world’s ‘benevolent superpower’. 30 million people. I cannot stress this number enough. 30 million people were massacred with the help of funds from Rokkenjima. This alone is damning on Beatrice and her Imperial Council, all of whom are unelected, and all of whom hold enormous control over their country. But this not the only case. Another, much greater and much faster genocide was about to take place. In order to preserve its murderous neighbours, the Rokkenjiman government and her allies hatched a plan to divert an asteroid. Of course, their aim was to knock it completely off course – almost Armageddon style, perhaps with Serenity Azurewind taking the role of Bruce Willis. Regardless, everybody knew it would fail – and they knew the potential consequences. So it was a mater of who were they prepared to sacrifice, would it be Quinntopia? Tytor? Dartfordia? The UNP? The single greatest disaster on Mundus since the destruction of the Dinosaurs, engineered by the First Empire of Rokkenjima. Once again the benevolent superpower used its power and money to kill. As millions of civilians were being slaughtered, the Union stayed quiet. As Toshandai attempted to pull off an impossible feat that resulted in millions more dying, the Union helped. Rokkenjima’s imperial Union of subservient nations supported her and, by proxy, killed millions. So it is convenient for the Rokkenjiman monarchy that their matriarch is shot by a protestor. While always a possibility, I can’t imagine such a false flag like this being planted by the Empress, though the question of it being planted by a member of her government sure does make a worthwhile conspiracy. However, it is clear that the focus of the world’s media will not be on the genocide enabling government, but on the health of its leader. Yet with the Empress incapacitated for now, those closest to her will now face scrutiny. I am talking, of course, of the three joint interim heads of state: the Emperor, the Vicegerent and the Grand Marshal. I would like to pay particular attention to the Emperor, Alexander Anselmo. The man who, in some near or distant future, will be crowned King of Dartfordia. A man who I will one day be a subject of. While members of the Dartfordian Royal Family should remain neutral, it is easy to forgive the Prince for his support of Universal Rights, the Fair Seas Concordat, the failed Commonwealth Treaty Organisation and, of course, his role as a schoolteacher. But is there a darker side to the dashing Prince that stole the hearts of Dartfordians and Rokkenjimans alike? Judging by his last statement, there most certainly is. I understand that the man will be angry. Who wouldn’t? His wife could be dead. He has every right to be outraged. Yet anger exposes a darker side to your personality, the person who you truly are. Let me quote you part of his speech, “when those responsible for this cowardly shooting of my wife are discovered, they will cry out for death and pray for hell; neither of which will oblige them.” Are these truly the words of an Emperor of a benevolent country? The words of a father? Of a schoolteacher? Here the Emperor openly and clearly states that the Empire will violate their human rights, their universal human rights, the same universal human rights that Rokkenjima cowrote back in 2014. This is the man that will be leading Rokkenjima through the next couple of weeks, if not months. And, if the Empress does pass, years. Our own civil liberties are at stake now, with an Emperor demanding a man pray for death, ‘for it shall show you more leniency than I ever could’. This particular revelation tells us more about the Prince than we have learned in the six years he’s been married, and the many years before that. It tells us that this once isolated man is prepared to violate universal rights, that he is prepared to see others suffer. Did he have a role to play in the genocide? While the accords do not bare any royal signatures, there is no way on Mundus that Sumire had supreme authority within the Rokkenjiman government. An Imperial Councillor for Defence with ‘responsibilities for Rokkenjiman-Toshandai relations’ should not have been able to yield such significant influence in Rokkenjima. So how was it done? Convincing the Imperial Couple’s closest advisors? Convincing the couple personally? Who knows. I doubt such information will ever come out. By the Empress’ own admission, she foolishly trusted Sumire. But I can’t fathom the idea that Sumire alone could so easily convince the Empress. The likely answer? Alexander Anselmo. Given his current disinterest in upholding Universal Rights, it is certainly not beyond one’s imagination to consider that he actively participated in the authorisation of Ducats to a nation perpetrating genocide, or that he valued the UNP less than he did that of Toshandai and authorised Rokkenjiman equipment to be used to save his neighbour’s hide. We all know it would be him that the Empress would turn to for advice, and if he were to have advised her against it it would most certainly have not happened. There for he must have been a proponent of the bailout. Now while perhaps he may have not known the full extent of the Andean Genocide, the deaths of 30 million people is not light news. And the coverup in the Rokkenjiman and Dartfordian media paints a harrowing tale of how an entire regime ignored an innocent nation’s cry for help. Alexander Anselmo will one day be King of Dartfordia. But is that exactly what we want? A man who, while officially supporting human rights and their institutions is so willing to distort and ignore them? A man who ignored and enabled a genocide that killed 30 million? He is the consort to a politically active head of state that helped kill 90 million innocent civilian lives. And one day, we shall be asking God to save him. |

FMN Journalist Arrested in Lakhzovia for 'Espionage'  FMN Journalist Juli Anderik arrested on espionage charges while researching a story in Lakhzovia Free Mundus Network investigative journalist Juli Anderik was arrested on suspicion of espionage while investigating a story in the Republic of Lakhzovia. Juli, a long time employee of FMN best known for her articles on minority rights had entered Lakhzovia on a press visa in order to report on the current state of Utman minority rights in the troubled Republic. She was specifically investigating claims by the Utman Liberation Organisation (ULO) that the Lakhzov government has been waging a campaign of land confiscations with the displaced population being transported and detained in temporary settlements against their will. She also sought to establish the extent of the Hand of Emet activities in the tense Transmecuria province. She was arrested in the city of Khalin shortly after meeting with the sister of an imprisoned ULO activist accused of being a part of a terror cell. While on a satellite phone, providing an update to her editor, she was approached by Lakhzov security officials and left the line open while they questioned and searched her. From that conversation we have been able to ascertain that she was arrested on suspicion of espionage for her entry in to Transmecuria without having obtained the necessary permits, had failed to file an itinerary with the Transit Registry and was in possession of an undeclared satellite phone. FMN has had no official communication from the Lakhzov government as the the condition, status or location of Juli and the state has failed to respond to requests for comment. FMN is resolute in our stance that this is a direct attack on press freedoms and a violation of Juli's human rights. While the Lakhzov government refuses to confirm whether or not they are holding Juli and is refusing requests from our legal team to provide representation for her we are in contact with a number of agencies and representatives of various countries to attempt to secure her liberty. |

Official Findings of the Peninsular War Crimes Tribunal Under General Assembly Resolution #0005 section (4) the Peninsular War Crimes Tribunal was established and given the mandate to investigate the allegations of war crimes during the Toshindai invasion of Nueva Ardia, as a multinational team of investigators we retain our independence and in order to symbolize that we choose to announce our findings through the Free Mundus Network rather than any national media outlet. The actual report itself is some three thousand pages long and goes into what the youth of Mundus would undoubtedly call 'nerd level' detail, however our findings are as follows: 1) War Crimes were committed by Toshindai forces before the Mentorship Period 2) War Crimes were committed by Toshindai forces during the Mentorship Period 3) Rokkenjima, despite treaty obligations to the contrary, did not intervene. 4) That it is highly likely that the highest levels of the Rokkenjiman government knew of the unfolding situation inside Nueva Ardia. 5) That Toshindai forces did steal gold from the Andean Peninsular during the conflict. There can be no doubt as to the culpability of Toshindai forces in respect to war crimes committed, as a previous independent investigation showed. What was concerning however was that war crimes seemed to have been committed on Rokkenjima's watch. However we must treat both situations separately as one concerns the CTO and the other concerns Rokkenjima. In the instance of actions that occurred in the period of time prior to the Mentorship we ask the question 'What did the CTO know?' upon Consulting Security Council Records we find that thanks entirely to the Achkaerinese representative Colonel Steven Ayanami appropriate questions were asked, we further note that similar questions have been asked during previous sessions of the Security Council in relation to the situation in Marseilles for example. The answers provided by the Toshindai representative General Ran seem to clearly indicate according to military and intelligence expert witnesses the expected answers meaning that the Toshindai answers do not raise alarm bells. This is a key point because it strongly indicates a calculated deception of the CTO on the part of Toshindai, in that they were given a mandate to tackle the terrorist group known as the Four Truths, this puts the CTO initially in the position of the victim insofar as them being duped. However we do not extend this to events occurring after the invasion. Once it was known that Toshindai forces were carrying out actions in contravention of the Uppsala Convention the CTO General Assembly should have issued a condemnation against Toshindai and commissioned action to end the conflict, had they done so this would be where this report jumps to the recommendations however they did not. But this remains the CTO's only offence- guilty of inaction, we note however the acceptance of the current Secretary General for that failing, we note the acceptance of the Achkaerinese, Morelander and Dartfordian delegates for that failing and finally we note that under Resolution #0005 the establishment of the Andean Claims Commission. In the instance of war crimes committed during the Mentorship period we are faced with a much simpler task thanks to the existence of the Addendum to the Sakura Umeko Accord. Our primary concern here is not the war crimes themselves but Rokkenjima's involvement in relation to them. It has been cited many times when discussion of this point has been held but the key section is:
That could not be clearer, under the Addendum Rokkenjima is making itself obliged to stop any military action that Field Marshal Lancaster does not authorize, so how is it that war crimes were committed? Either Field Marshal Lancaster was deceived in the same way as the CTO and failed to act, which would be a violation of the Addendum or he was complicit in the war crimes which would make him answerable under the Uppsala Convention, either way it is clear that he has questions to answer. In addition during the Mentorship period Rokkenjima held sovereign control of Toshindai, this is no secret, however while assuming that responsibility to aid Toshindai Rokkenjima also accepted by their Empress's own signature on the Addendum all the adverse responsibilities- in short Rokkenjima is in legal terms for the duration of the Mentorship the equivalent of the Toshindai government and is therefore answerable for criminal actions committed by Toshindai during that time. In the course of our investigations we also considered the role played by Sumire Abruscato, she was effectively made the 'provincial governor' of Toshindai answerable as one would expect to the Rokkenjiman government, considering the close friendship she reportedly had with Empress Beatrice we must ask the question 'Why were alarm bells not ringing when the Genocide reports continued? The Addendum again is clear:
Given the close friendship shared between Ms Abruscato and the Empress, we would expect to be seeing some form of communication of the concerns around this but none occurred. It is therefore logical to assume likely corruption on the part of Ms Abruscato. The above point also brings us to an issue of great concern- 'How much did the Rokkenjiman Government know?' given that Ms Abruscato was the Imperial Councilor for Defence it was important that we determine how far up the food chain as it were the corruption went, initially we were satisfied that it began and ended in Ms Abruscato's department however recent revelations in the Dartfordian press by the Emperor of Rokkenjima's Senior Private Secretary Mr Harry Riptide throw that satisfaction into quite serious doubt. It now appears to be the case that the Emperor of Rokkenjima knew about what was going on and that Rokkenjima was not fulfilling its obligations, since it now appears to be the case that the Emperor of Rokkenjima knew it now seems rather fanciful to believe that the Empress of Rokkenjima did not know, that the Imperial Council did not know, that key members of the Imperial Diet did not know. The issue of Rokkenjiman funds is not one we are directly concerned with, though we do note that insofar as the Andean gold is concerned, the return of some of it by South Toshindai suggests that there is truth to that allegation. The issue is a matter for the Cross Straits Court of Justice inquiry chaired by Mr Jacob Summers. Having considered all of the evidence discovered, analysed and all the witnesses questioned the tribunal makes the following recommendations: 1) the transfer of all those arrested and subsequently arrested to CTO custody pending further investigation or prosecution and trial. (in accordance with #0005 section 5) 2) The immediate arrest of the Emperor and Empress of Rokkenjima in order to determine the truth. We note that in the case of the Empress this will initially be a form of house arrest as she is presently hospitalized and while we do wish her a speedy and full recovery we must carry out our responsibilities. 3) The adoption by all nations of the international arrest warrant for Sumire Abruscato. 4) The immediate suspension of Rokkenjima from the CTO subject to further investigation and action. 5) Toshindai factions to pay the equivalent of 90,000,000 USD to Nueva Ardia for war crimes committed against them before the Mentorship period (30 million each) 6) Rokkenjima to pay the equivalent of 30,000,000 USD to Nueva Ardia for war crimes committed by Toshindai forces during the Mentorship period. This concludes our findings and recommendations and we commend this report to the CTO. The Peninsular War Crimes Tribunal OOC- All of the above is based entirely on IC points, in short everything in the report can be inferred from the IC and the recommendations are what people realistically must have guessed was likely.  The Real Resistance Fighters in Vienra The debate on the Vienra Resolution beginning in CTO, Free Mundus thought it would send some reporters to check out the city thrust on the world stage for ourselves. Immediately we had some concerns when all attempts to send in reporters to the city were bared by the Ardian provisional government. But fear not, because it was actually surprisingly easy to get based the Ardian patrols. We meet with a woman who went by simply as the Widow in Hamantra. We paid the Widow 200USD per person, the only stimulation was that we couldn't use any Holy Rupees, the official currency of Ionia. Since the occupation of Vienra, the Ionian economy has fallen drastically, and despite attempts from several nations to stabilize the market, the Rupee is still down. The Widow fed us and put us up for the night. We were awoken the next morning at 3 am local time by a band of armed women. Between the women very little english was spoke, and communication was complicated at best. They led us to a white van, loaded us up and we were off. After a few hours of going through the desert, we made a pit stop to change vehicles. This time it was an open top jeep with a machine gun mounted on the back. We figured that was more for emergencies, but as we got near the city we quickly learned we were very wrong. Ardian helicopters frequently passed overhead. During these brief moments of contact, both the Ardians and rebels would exchange a few shouts. This small battles were quick, neither side wanting to waste their resources on the other. Eventually Vienra came into view. It was a surreal experience looking at the husk were a city once was. There were smoke columns rising from dozens of locations, the women proudly tell us that many of them are rebel bombings. The roads into the city, repaved only a week ago, are rocky, lined with shrapnel and bullet cases. The once grand city walls, monuments from the time of the Ardian Empire war crumpling, and we drive through one of the new openings. Immediately after entering Vienra, the women hand us over to a small army. We were surprised to see that our escort was made up of kids, the oldest among them was only 17. Unlike our drivers, the almost all the kids new a good amount of english. They told us about the state of the conflict. Lacking supplies, numbers, and training the rebels are forced to use less than savory tactics. Car bombs, public shootings- terror tactics. Also it wasn't uncommon for kids, like the ones walking with us, to be armed. Most of the time they were far away from the fighting, holding a safe house or hospital, but that wasn't always the case. We entered a rebel encampment, several bombed out buildings swarming with individuals. There were injured everywhere, many lacking even basic coverings on their wounds. Doctors were few and forced to use the little medical equipment they had on those they knew were savable. Already disease was spreading rapidly in the horrid conditions, coughing could be heard all around, never stopping. After touring the encampment, we sat down with the leader of this rebel contingent. His name was Dorvius Palus, before the occupation he was a member of the Nir'Shado, the Ionian variant of the Watchmen. Apparently across the city, the Nir'Shado were leading the rebels, unwilling to watch untrained civilians be slaughtered. The Nir'Shado presently are perhaps the only chance Vienra has of defeating the Ardian Legionaries, but with the rise of a theocratic state in Quintax, the intentions of these Watchmen becomes highly questionable. |

Utman Liberation Organisation seeks redress from CETO  Dr Racip Uttaman Chairman of the ULO The Utman Liberation Organisation announced today that they would shortly be approaching the Culture Exchange Treaty Organisation (CETO) to seek their intervention in to the case of the Mausoleum of Hardwari. The mausoleum, destined to be submerged due to dam construction, was saved due to the intervention of CETO who made Lakhzovia's entry to the organisation dependent upon their conservation of the site. However during the conservation work Lakhzovia claims that a discovery was made that showed the tomb to be Lakhzov cultural property, this was then enforced by the Court of Disputations, a body established under the Land Reform Act to rule on cases of conflicting land claims. Utman leaders believe that this has been a deliberate provocation by the government testing the Utman community's resolve and determining the level of resistance to cultural expropriation. Dr Racip Uttaman, chairman of the ULO announced their plan to approach the international body in a speech he delivered to an Utman community meeting in Wegry-Swieta where he blamed CETO for failing to follow through on their pledge to protect the Utmann site "I announce that the Utman Liberation Organisation, on behalf of the Utman nation under occupation, will be approaching CETO to demand that they intervene and right the wrong Lakhzovia has done to us, condemn Lakhzovia for their cultural theft and expel the from the organisation for failure to abide by their conditions of entry. Perhaps the world has forgotten but we have not. Lakhzovia's entry to CETO was conditioned on their preservation of our holy site that they sought to destroy through flood. Lakhzovia was accepted on the basis that they allow a CETO team to oversee the conservation work, that team never appeared and Lakhzov 'archaeologists' descended on the shrine and miraculously discovered "proof" that they own the shrine. Having failed to destroy our holy site they sought to take it from us in a growing attempt to erase our people from history, to deny us our natural right in the land and to further humiliate us. We will demand that CETO intervene to right this injustice and that Lakhzovia be dealt with appropriately.." |

The Felysians, Who Are They and Their Conquering of 'Massilliae' It was reported that the Felysian Islands erupted into lava plains after a volcanic cataclysm affecting the islands took place months ago. Ash and clouds covered or passed over much of the planet following and with the air now clear in many areas, nations have begun surveying the land, looking for survivors. Little did the world know however that several thousand Felysians survived by escaping on an ancient world war one ship, named the Cario, a ship from the Ardian Empire during world war one, acquired by the Felysians during their slave rebellions. It is theorized that their goal was to land in Zimalia and claim their ancestral homelands, but instead after poor navigation ended up near Marseilles, now proclaimed by the Felysians as Massilliae. On the way Cario sunk several cargo ships to access supplies for those starving on the ship and eventually, launched a small military campaign in Marseilles to annex the country. On field reporters recorded the combat, taking note that the benchmark of the religious war, in which the Felysians introduced the 'Fellowship of Mater Insula' against the Church of Materna, a since then declining religion since the wars in Marseilles, which left the country in a poor state, and the people spiteful against their own god. This Benchmark was the battle of Cannae, which resulted in a Felysian victory and essentially opened the doors for a Felysian controlled Marseilles. At that time, the Cario was reported to attack a Protoan, take SEN prisoners, and shoot down a South Hillian aircraft. They were led by the self-proclaimed Queen Victricia Felysian, who has been captured by the Northerner and has been seemingly rejected by a known, Felysian explorer known as Abelus, who has seemed to take up administrative duties in Marseilles. A Look At Zachachevania Fighting began about 2 years ago, when union protests in Catalia, a city on the north of Zachachevania's coastline, largely composed of anarchists and communists, turned violent. There had been rising tensions in Zachachevania for over a decade, since President Pedro Mendoza was elected President of the Republic of Zachachevania on a platform of right wing economics, nationalism, military strength, religious piety, and social conservatism. Mendoza immediately began to strip down the strength of unions in Zachachevania, to cut spending to social programs, to subsidize corporate enterprise, and strengthening the military. Mendoza's opponents were quick to criticize Mendoza on what they called rampant human rights abuses, and infringements on the freedom of speech and religion. Mendoza's party, the Zachachevanian Conservative Party, backed government surveillance on a massive scale, and also supported largely militarizing the nation's police force. Mendoza's opponents claim he began to crack down on anyone who disagreed with him, especially anarchists and socialists, using the claim that they were inciting violence, and disturbing the peace, both of which are crimes in Zachachevania, when in fact they were not. Mendoza's supporters say that all those jailed were in fact convicted rightfully, and had been inciting violence with calls for rebellion. They further stated that these calls for rebellion were in no way justified, as Mendoza was rightfully and democratically elected. By the time his first term of five years were up, Mendoza's approval rating had fallen to 41%, but he was still reelected, due to the level of unity in the Zachachevanian Conservative Party not found among his opponents, who were divided between several smaller parties, encompassing liberals, socialists, libertarians, environmentalists, secularists, and anarchists. Rioting began in Catalalia in response to a law passed by Mendoza which required all union members to forfeit all firearms in their possession, which Mendoza's supporters called a necessary move to prevent leftist terrorism, and Mendoza's opponents, mainly leftist anarchists, to call unfair discrimination against unions and an attempt to disarm the populace so they could not resist potential tyranny to come. Protests turned violent when an explosion of unknown origin injured 4 protests and 6 police officers, with Mendoza blaming the explosion on a crazed protester, and most of the anarchists declaring the explosion to have been caused by a police hand grenade. In response, Mendoza declared martial law in Catalia, stating that it was necessary to prevent further terrorism and rioting, to prevent civil war. This lead to many anarchists declaring that the bomb was a false flag, intended as an excuse to declare martial law, and a group of several hundred armed anarchists stormed administrative buildings in Catalia.  A police officer struck by a Molotov cocktail during riots in Catalia Following the seizure of Catalia by anarchists, similar uprisings, composed mainly of anarchist militias, erupted all across the more left-leaning northern half of Zachachevania. Since then, bloody fighting raged on for nearly two years, eventually resulting in the leftists forcing Mendoza's soldiers out of the three northernmost provinces of Zachachevania. Recently, a league of anarchist militias have declared themselves to be the "Free People's Federation of Zachachevania", a federation composed of anarchist communities, mostly of the anarchocommunist and anarchosyndicalist types. The city of Yohalla in west Zachachevania, also held by anarchists, has declared itself independent of the leftist anarchist federation, and has formed what they are calling the "Free League of Zachachevania", an anarchocapitalist stronghold. There has been conflict between the two philosophies in the past, with both declaring the other to be false anarchism. Mendoza's government has retained control of most of the southern half of Zachachevania, except about half of the Grano province, a mostly rural agricultural province, which has been taken by the Democratic People's Republic of Zachachevania, which, like the Republic of Zachachevania, is governed by representative democracy, but is lead mainly by the Democratic Socialist Party of Zachachevania. It is unclear what direction any of these new states will take, but our analysts predict what remains of the Republic of Zachevania will only become more conservative, now that the more left leaning provinces have seceded from the union. Tarranova Launches It's Ground Campaign in Nova Ardia After an extensive air war waged by both sides, Tarranova has gained a slight upper hand. The Chancellery of Defense announced this as an opportunity to strike quickly on the ground, and launch the official invasion as sufficient air cover can now by guaranteed. The ground assault began 24 hours ago, with Tarranovans cross the border in mass to meet limited resistance. Reports from our sources within Nova Ardia say chemical weapons such as VX nerve gas and white phosphorous were used widely in the initial bombings. We do have confirmation however that mustard gas is being deployed alongside Tarranovan assault, with troops dressed in full mask and hazard. So far, without the bias of Tarranovan and Nova Ardian reports, FMN can accurately estimate that over 9,000 military forces on both sides have been lost and over 20,000 civilians are now dead in Nova Ardian due to widespread bombing in an attempt to disable the countries' communications and logistics. The Nova Ardians are mostly scattered now. After Ionia, Nova Ardia was cut off from it's only source by proxy to the sea and international trade. Alongside renewed aggression with Tarra, and other neighbors being a non-factor, Nova Ardia is struggling to maintain many parts of the country. In the first 24 hours of invasion, catastrophic damage has been dealt to the country, with Tarranovan forces decending on the first pivotal city to the war, Cannae. The city of Cannae holds the key to several supply routes and cutting it off could disrupt the eastern oil supply. CARPENTER QUESTIONS SANITY OF MUNDUS  In a frank statement from the former Chief Councillor of East Moreland, and current civilian leader of the Celtic Protectorate in Mercia, Timothy Carpenter has spoken about his fears for Mundus, even going so far as questioning the sanity of Mundus. We have however in the last few days seen nations launch major naval exercises on the edge of another nations territory, firing missiles into the sea, causing Helus knows what damage to the environment, all because of a base that's been there probably longer than I've been alive. We see people withdrawing from organisations, in the last few days the CTO has hemograged members, the organisation was born with so much hope to foster international co-operation, people blame it for being inactive, yet they are members who drive the activity. When I was Secretary-General we had the Marseille Crisis, we tried talking to the Duchess of Marseille, it failed, even going so far as having her slap me during negotiations, only then did our military intervene and bring the carnage there under control. The CTO had active members, yet now people don't use it. We've seen the same with other organisations designed to promote co-operation, take for example the Fair Seas Concordt, a foundation of international law that gives even the smallest nation protection, we have seen Temcluse breach it time and again, yet could have easily talked to nations and formed a solution to their issues that didn't see a naval build up. People can not and should not negotiate at the end of a gun, essentially closing the Northern Matilda channel is doing exactly that. Even when it comes to protecting the world nations don't wish to co-operate, The Treaty for The Protection of Wilderness was a major development in trying to help protect Mundus, yet just four nations have signed it. My question would be why? When crisis hit the planet people bury their heads in the sand, The Joint Emergency Team have time and again put themselves on the line to support any and every nation that has suffered from war, natural disaster or any other type of crisis. Yet again we have just five nations supporting it. Co-operation is something we should encourage, global, multi-national co-operation, everyone seems to view everyone as an enemy, there are regional organisations that could do so much, but people won't work with neighbours because the slightest issue is cause for war. Check what is happening in the Illumic, a Council exists to help nations communicate and co-operate, yet we see Rokkenjima sending more ships without using the Tripartite or Illumic Council, we see KaiserAdolf firing missiles into another nations EEZ, something against both the EEZ and spirit of the Illumic Council, but I know what will be said, "We aren't a member of this or that", well that's a shame rather than work with a neighbour people would see them as a rival. It is my belief that unless people actually start co-operating at a basic level we'll see conflict in coming months that could have been avoided." SPOTLIGHT on Ander Teroto:-  The Communist State of Ander Teroto has today taken shipment of the first medical supplies from the Global Childbirth Initiative. Aircraft, medicines, specialists and building materials have been arriving from all over the globe to the port at Sunyong. These were freely given by several nations after a direct plea was made by the government of the one party state to the global community. This move by Ander Teroto is in stark contrast to recent developments regarding their treatment of minorities. Indeed, Ander Teroto has recently started to round up members of the Ismaili sect of Islam. Although, as is typical of Ander Teroto, no comment has been made by them, this news network as been told that as many as 4,000 individuals, including women and children, are being sent to re-education camps across Ander Teroto. Typical of the Communist government, younger children are being separated from their families and placed with the families of local party officials for "safe keeping". Recently the National Committee announced that two of the huge industrial furnaces used for the production of steel were to be restarted, which in itself is highly unusual, given the fact the agricultural sector of the nation relies so heavily on manpower. Diverting manpower to production could have something to do with a recent satellite photo that was leaked to this network.  This image was taken some 18 months ago and is not particularly large, but a more recent, and better quality, image has been made available to us, and it is concerning.  As you can see, huge areas of land have been drained and cultivated with large amounts of vegetation. It seems that there is also cleared land around the site, which our experts speculate to be minefields with clear lines of site for an approach. What is it? What are they up to? Well, would it surprise you if we said that this installation, whatever it is, is only 20Km from the border with Lodja? Recently Ander Teroto started to build significant defences on the border with Lodja. More minefields and motion detectors with fencing and large walls are going up all only the border. Work as also begun on a huge dyke, which is being uniformly dug some 20 metres behind the new structures. This ditch is 30ft deep in places and full of fixed caltrops. Are they planning to invade Lodja? We don't think so, but we have one last piece to this jigsaw. Although internet access in Ander Teroto is heavily restricted, along the borders modern mobile phones can be found, they normally are connected to networks in neighbouring states. Someone by the twitter handle of Ngyen the bold, tweeted, "I missed school for two years for this shit!!" and then posted a picture:   We believe it could be some sort of weapons array, but we are still not entirely sure, but if the building has really taken two years to build, it is amazing that the secret has held for so long. What is Ander Teroto up to, but more to the point, does anyone actually care? The fate of the Ismaili population of Ander Teroto hangs in the balance, and Ander Teroto is building possible super weapons, this network hopes someone cares! |

MERCIA THINK SO  Yesterday the Commonwealth Treaty Organisation moved to vote a resolution concerning the status of the High King of Mercia, a resolution which in the eyes of many in Mercia is illegal. The resolution calls for the recent election for High King, which saw King Rupert of Hassop victorious over King John of Bretton and King Robert of Calver, to be ignored. Going so far as to claim that Rupert may not even be the legitimate King of Hassop. Mercia has a complex constitution which recognises the Kingdoms of Calver, Hassop and Bretton as being ruled by a monarch. The three Kingdoms form a Commonwealth which is presided over by a High Monarch who is elected by a Commonwealth wide vote with the three Kingdom's rulers as candidates. While the separate Kingdoms may set their policies on a number of issues, foreign policy, defence, law and order and several other factors are set by the High Monarch, who rules for life or until they abdicate. The main bone of contention however is the article contained within the Resolution which will name King John of Bretton High King, an unelected High Monarch in a sense. This move has angered many Mercian's as Justice Minister Rosie Sheppard explained. "I can understand how to the outside world this situation may seem like an unjust election took place. Our constitution is clear, 14 days after the death of the last High Monarch an election takes place, every registered citizen over the age of 18 is permitted to vote regardless of faith or their Kingdom of origin. That happened, what I believe many think is that because of the security concerns around the time the result is questionable, however we do not think so." The Minister went on to add, "What the CTO resolution essentially does is say that our age old system is wrong, that our system returned a result they do not like and that the preferred candidate of East Moreland and Achkaerin should have won. As such they are now using the international community to confer onto the head of a man accused of being a traitor to his people the crown of our Commonwealth." Members of the public also pointed out that since the last election King Robert of Calver has abdicated on health grounds and been replaced by his son Arthur, who is now King of Calver. We spoke to William Haroldson, the Commonwealth's Finance Minister and former advisor to King Robert of Calver said, "How is this a fair resolution, even if it was found Rupert's election was illegal then how can handing the crown to one of the other two candidates over the other be legal. We are seeing the CTO ignore a nations laws to impose on them a government of their choosing. The CTO was designed to bring peace and stability, we have a fragile peace in Mercia at the moment and this resolution is only likely to see division." Another element to this is the presence of the Ui Cennesliag military within the Celtic Protectorate, should this resolution pass then their agreement with the Mercian's will be seen as void. Lt.Col Shay Jones, commander of UC forces in Mercia said. "The fragile peace here is held together by our men and women actively patrolling the streets to ensure there is no divisive actions, meanwhile an outside influence such as the CTO is about to do exactly that. If the CTO pass this resolution that will effectively end the Protectorate and then we have no mandate to be here in a legal sense. I believe the CTO will be opening a Pandora's Box." However the move was meet with delight by some, one Bretton who refused to give their name stated, "I didn't vote, I'd been forced from my home and was hiding from roaming death squads. Rupert shouldn't have won and everyone knows if Bretton's weren't hiding in the countryside in fear of their lives John would have won. The CTO are just enforcing the result everyone knows would be passed." With the resolution currently having 3 votes in favour and 2 absetnetions it is highly likely it will pass. As Rosie Sheppard explained, "We shouldn't be surprised the CTO are no respecters of international law, we saw in the past they proposed to ignore the FSC by imposing a reduced EEZ on Nya Aland when anti-whaling protestors turned up, I fear the CTO is about to now break our laws." The results of the resolution will be known in the coming days and those within Mercia will be watching the results with a mixture of excitement and worry. |

Thousands March Against the Theocracy in Tarranova -- Analyzing Tarranova Reports are coming in that thousands across the country are marching against the Theocracy and this eveidence is being covered up by the Orthodox Cult of Helus. "We have fallen on harder times than ever before." one protestor exclaims. "There was a big divide between us and the rich with the liberals but now there is a huge divide between us and the Paladins! I am glad many of the elite were put out of power, but the Orthodox Cult only put their own elites into power! I respect the Paladins but the system needs to be reformed!" This is a growing call that has been ignored, and blocked from the world by the state controlled media who as of late, has been attempting to romanticize "Emperor" James. Many Tarranovans don't believe in this picture. "We were in the mass hysteria of just being attacked by Nova Ardia, he seemed like a grand figure here to save us, it was emphasized that he was a descendant of Unasson, which we all respect. But that doesn't excuse that he is a f*cking a**hole and not fit to be our Emperor." it seems the honey moon phase for Tarranova is over, and as explained before, the cons of democracy and liberalism are perhaps what sent Tarranova in it's deplorable state in the first place. But how did Su Mai come to power? As a non-Helusite and not native to the country? Our cultural analyst point to Tarranova being immensely diverse and open, despite its common political attitude. Tarranova is indeed very diverse, which allows the country to adapt to varying circumstance. This includes accepting a complete foreigner, promoted by the Orthodox Cult, as the Empress of the country. The general attitude torward Su Mai is mixed, most are indifferent and some positive. The most positive coming from the Asiatic influence on Tarranova, most Toshindainese descendants view her as an inspiring and perfect figure, while typical Tarranovans view her as strong but unfamiliar. Su Mai hasn't been particularly outspoken and is seen as more of a loyal figure to her husband, though it's unsure whether the stories of their 'true love' is fabricated or real. With her pregnancy announced, her approval has climbed. Many forget her reputation in Toshindai however. Su Mai has been known to either be tyrannical or a great leader, her rule has never been tested however, only her brutal military command. She is considered to be largely ambiguous in interpretation and it's unsure who she really is, which is what scares FMN. Doing important digging into Su Mai reveals a bleak past, she was born to a high class Clan in Toshindai, groomed for military command after her intelligence was observed. She became the first woman officer known in Toshindai and quickly rose through political echelons until the outbreak of the Warring Period throughout the 1980s. Her motivations become clear in her writings, indicating she wanted to abolish the Shogunate and create a more centralized, and authoritarian Kingdom. She gained this traction quickly, as the Samurai in Toshindai sought it out as a power grab, tired of serving the Daimyo's and wanting to fufill a controlling and protector role over Toshindai. This was staunchly opposed as upsetting the balance. Su Mai won time and time, what's even more uprising was that she was a conqueror and politician at the mere age of 16. This is what potentially intrigued many people. Su Mai was eventually defeated however, presumed dead she rose again after working behind the since to manipulated the Yoshimo Shogunate to bring a civil war and quickly conquer the country. With a more modernized and resistant population however Su Mai was defeated and fled with her Samurai loyalist to Tarranova. It's gathered that she was in conspiracy with the Orthodox Cult and was converted before. Su Mai's influence and advise to Grand Vicar Rayen Hunalya may have gave the Orthodox Cult the will and guise to commit to their coup. Both James and Su Mai comes from broadly similar background, ambitious rulers running from defeat, one intelligent, the other a dunce, the dunce is James obviously. Insider reports state James is hardly involved in the political process of Tarranova, only assuming the appearance. With East Moreland being discontent with James being the 'Emperor' it seems only a matter of time. East Moreland is the Holy Land to Tarranova after all, and by ethics of the Orthodox Cult, they must heed to the demands of the Holy Land. EXCLUSIVE: Forgotten People - Inside Lakhzovia's secretive network of slave labour camps  Pictured: Part of one of at least 38 "labour townships", in reality little more than a slave labour camp The Lakhzov government is being accused of engaging in modern slavery and risking the lives of thousands of people by forcing them to live and work in appalling conditions in government labour townships. Despite Lakhzovia's ban on our new agency, the Free Mundus Network has utilised our extensive network of contacts to gain exclusive information and footage from one of these townships smuggled out of the country by activists. Deep in the upper Transmercurian hill country lies the Birza township where men, women and children live in makeshift settlements lacking in basic necessities such as electricity, running water, access to healthcare and basic sanitation. The residents of this network of camps, of which there are at least 38 though figures are difficult to come by, are exclusively from the Utman community and have been evicted from their homes and rehoused in the townships through a combination of coercion and deception. It is believed that tens of thousands, including the majority of families were moved to the camps after being forced from their homes during the severe winter floods that affected the region last year. However what had been presented as a temporary measure by the government has continued with no end in sight for those trapped in the townships. The township we gained access to is a densely packed labyrinth of ramshackle huts built out of scavenged materials on a muddy hillside. Forming the backdrop to this scene of deprivation are the looming towers and chimneys of the huge foundry, the expansion of which most of the residents are engaged in while others process waste by hand from huge rubbish tips built on top of the spoil dump, which is 100m high and 500m across - a smoking, steaming pile of waste. Filming inside the township and work sites is strictly prohibited, but one of the workers was prepared to smuggle a camera inside to see what it is like and to get a sense of how miserable it is. The pictures reveal men, women and children lugging building materials around by hand and scaling the high scaffolding of the construction site where there is a complete lack of any apparent safety measures. The situation for the waste processors appears even worse with dirty, ill looking women and children clambering around on the spoil heap filling sacks and buckets with their bare hands before hauling them off to depots for transport. From the smouldering dump gasses leak into the air. The nauseating vapours are a constant. Locals say illness is never far away. Dr Yulias Anan, an Utman medical professional who lives in Achkaerin and works for the NGO Healthcare International stated that "For the people living in these conditions the health implications are particularly severe, especially for those exposed directly to the toxic material in the waste dumps. We know from the toxins they will have been exposed to that they are at far higher risk of developing severe respiratory conditions, cancers as well as birth defects. Particularly worrying is the lack of medical provision in these camps and the fact that they cannot go to a hospital or doctor as they are not free to leave the township." On the busy streets of nearby Brumal, Transmecuria’s third city, there is little concern for the poorest members of this society. For its part the local authority denies discrimination; arguing rather that the Utman choose to live outside normal society. "People just expect everybody to follow the same rules they do, and to cope with the same problems they do and expect to have the same chances and opportunities they do," Brumal city spokeswoman Oana Buzatu said. "I think in terms of local mentality, this is the general idea. Some take all the responsibilities and opportunities and rights that come with belonging to a community, some don't. So I think it's in that, maybe a matter of choice. It's true that this choice can be improved and changed through education but this takes time." For years human rights groups have criticised Lakhzovia for its treatment of these people. But as this country's international partners continue to turn a blind eye to the plight of the Utman, prospects for any sort of future for them in President Kadassa’s Lakhzovia seem increasingly dim. Some among the Utman believe that their current situation is unsustainable and that Lakhzovia will sooner or later be forced to end their oppression against their community, whether by external pressure or through domestic upset. However for now such a dream seems the preserve of a distant and uncertain future. Tarranova to Host Constitutional Convention After Heightening Unrest and Economic Recession, Will Emperor Septim be Ousted? Several insurgencies, not only in Nova Ardia but in Tarraova have plagued the country, demanding a constitutional convention to fulfill the promise of a democratic government. The Orthodox Cult of Helus gave in to these demands, Grand Vicar Rayen Hunalya publicly stating to Free Mundus Network, "The people will get what they want, they are the people of Helus, after all." This uprising demand, specifically in the rural south and east of the country, is largely in part due to the hard recession that has hit Tarranova. The Orthodox Cult's devout defense of his actions and status have only cause more unrest and disdain torward the Orthodox Cult, with calls now coming for Rayen Hunalya to step down. Empress Su Mai Nekhaga, who is pregnant and more loved by the people, has stepped up in the political scene. Publicly announcing her disdain for the Orthodox Cult shaming the Grand Vicar and saying, "Unfortunately, our honorable Grand Vicar has lost her way." The people have backed her, holding her up as a true warrior of Helus. "James is a descendant of our prophet" one citizen is remarked saying. "But he is not the right one. Power should be vested in the Empress, she is what Helsci truly represents." The constitutional convention will consist of hundreds of elected officials who will meet in the capital to discuss brought forth proposals. Many say, that if this constitution fails, Tarranova risk a civil war which also reflects the international economy. FMN economic analyst, Gerard Shepard, states. "Tarranova owns a considerable amount of the world's total GDP, this constitutional reform could bring many things to the table, in regards to market rises and pitfalls." and Tarranovan political FMN contributer, Xotel Aman, states "The country is heavily divided. In recent years to the south and east. The south and east have been largely marginalized by the prosperous, white collar north, becuase of this large rural parts of the country are becoming more and more socialist and communist as the income gap grows by the day now. So people are fed up, Su Mai though she is a royal herself, is seen coming from a humble position. She has striven for power and stability most of her, losing but always getting back up. The common people really admire her, especially with her pandering rhetoric. But people are blinded by her charm. In part of why Communism is rising too, is because her time spent in Quintax among the coined, 'Communist Samurai'." On top of internal political strife, Nova Ardia is becoming an insurgency battleground. Recent Tarranovan reports confirm that since the capital was captured, over 1,000 Tarranovan troops have been killed in fighting insurgencies and that the Capital of Roma is an intense battleground. Daily, Tarranovan forces are working to clear houses, compound and the countryside. The Tarra-Ardian mountain range, inbetween Tarranova and Nova Ardia, have been plagued by guerrilla activity, disturbing key supply routes to forces in Nova Ardia. Several attacks by Nova Ardian terrorist have also been records in many border cities. Three car bombs have killed a total of 200 civilians and missile strikes are common with border towns. This, is one of the key factors that drives people for reform and toward Su mai Nekhaga, who has personally disavowed the war, and says if "I was in power, the war would have never happened and we would keep a calm head. There is no direct proof that Nova Ardia was behind the attack, this was only a ploy by the Orthodox Cult and unfortunately, my husband." |

HAVE SCORDISCI "WEAPONISED" JAKOBSEN VIRUS  Following an outbreak of a previously unknown illness in Protoa the Kingdom of Ui Cenneslaig have made a rather unique claim against their neighbors in Scordsisci. Members of the Ui Cennesliag military immediately mobilized to support Protoa tackle the virus which seemingly causes extreme rage and violence. The medical teams have taken to plasti-cuffing anyone suspected of being infected or in contact with people who have. The outbreak has been seen in several Ui Cennesliag cities however the rapid isolation of people and the remoteness of many towns has seen the virus have less impact than on Protoa, however over the Ui Cenneslaig border in Scordisci the virus has not been tackled so well. This has lead to claims by troops observing the border that the Scordisci government have in effect weaponized the virus. Speaking from a border control point policed by East Moreland but observed by the Ui Cenneslaig military, Major Connor Harris of the Royal Medical Corps said, "Since our ceasefire with Scordisci we have seen maybe five or six crossing a day here, however since this virus we've seen maybe fifty attempts. We've turned them all back because they don't have the necessary permits, however we saw during the SFU attacks our border can be rather porous as most of it is heavy woodland so I suspect that some may have crossed illegally. When we have questioned some of these people they have explained that their govenrment have requested them to seek medical aid in Ui Cenneslaig, they are clearly deserting their obligations to their citizens." We were permitted to visit one of the border posts and saw for ourselves six or seven groups of three to four people arrive at the outer post of the DMZ. At this point the East Moreland military, wearing NBC gear kept them at a distance of ten meters or so, an unseen soldier keeping a protective aim on them, there have been cases of Scordisci being infected attacking the Morelanders, these have resulted in a few deaths of civilians who were frenzied, however on this day we saw nothing. The Morelanders turned the group around having given them bottles of water and information leaflets, we did however see on family attempt to cross through some woods close by however a Morelander vehicle intercepted them and turned them back once more. The Morelanders have also made attempts to disinfect everything coming into contact with potential infected people. We did manage to speak to one family over the barricade who confirmed that the Scordisci government had given them $500 a letter informing them that the best hope for treatment lay in Ui Cenneslaig, as the Cenneslaigains had developed a inoculation, something that is in fact a lie. It is this that has lead to the Cenneslaigians believing this is an attempt to weaken their nation with the virus. We contacted the Scordisci government for comment however they have yet to respond. |

Hundreds Arrested on Christmas Eve in Altumhechis Three days ago in a late night crackdown by Hechisian law enforcement, several hundred people in the Dominion of Altumhechis were arrested on Christmas Eve for violating laws related to the holiday.  KING RUPERT FACES SCANDAL A series of voice records, video screen shots and documents have appeared on whistle blower website Indyleaks casting doubts over whether High King Rupert of Mercia has been faithful to his wife, the recently abducted High Queen Mary. The exact source of the various files is unknown however they have been posted through ISP's across Mundus, attached to some were messages hinting that further leaks will appear in the coming days. One file was a video still of the King in a state of undress kissing his Minister of Justice Rose Shepherd, the attached note claimed that the whole video would be released in the next few days. Since the abduction of his wife, an act claimed by the Borlander off-shoot known as King Blood, the King has made several emotional appeals for her return, along with their son Crown Prince Oliver, however now these incriminating files have come to light many are already beginning to doubt his sincerity. One of the audio files appeared to have the King talking to a man about the purchase of cocaine, and in a further still from a video he was seen snorting what looked like a white powder from the body of a mystery woman, this image was date stamped from the day before the Queen gave birth. The files also contain images taken by East Moreland special forces during their raid on Hassop Hall, the King's royal residence, these include surprise footage of the now Archon-Emerito James Septim, also known as former Prince James Ironside of East Moreland. It would appear that he had taken a domestic position as a Chamberlain in the Hassop Royal Families household under the name Philip Masters. One of the attached files was of an interview with James by an East Moreland Red Legionnaire in which he claimed "Rupert is a male slut, I've seen at least ten different women come and go from his rooms." Statements that lend weight to the other files. Having reviewed the whole range it would appear that the High King is likely to have been bugged at some point and cameras hidden in his private residence where most of the footage comes from, who hid the devices is however unknown. Henry Adamson, a former member of the Hassop Royal Household said, "In the days when Rupert became King the nation was in confusion, the Palace had been gutted by the fire fight with the Morelanders and as such so many people came and went. I have no idea who did it." We asked the Mercian Royal Family for a statement however we were told "At present the King has more to worry about than works of fictional published by liars." |

 RUPERT A DISGRACE SAYS PRINCESS ALEXANDRIA The sister of the King of Calver, Princess Alexandria has today come out and called the High King a disgrace following revelations leaked on whistle blowing website Indyleaks. The 25 year old Princess was at one time in a relationship with the then Prince of Bretton, however broke up after 2 months under a cloud. Following the abdication of her father King Richard of Calver the Princess has moved to Krokom to study a Masters degree. While the Mercian Royal Press Secretary has been calling the Indyleaks claims "a vile pack of lies" the Princess has however cast doubt upon this defence.
The Princess also added that she once caught Rupert in bed with two other women and that he once asked her to drive across Fernwood to pick up tablets of ecstasy for him. While the Mercian Royal Press Secretary still refuses to give any direct comment from the King, nor explain why these claims are false their are likely to be more allegations. |

These secret documents, passed through several upper ranks of the Temple, come with the revelation that the Temple is responsible for conspiring and carrying out that attacks in Neo Skyharbor shortly after the theocracy performed a coup on the democratic government of Tarranesia, then called the Enclave League. The leaks indicate that even the Grand Vicar, Rayen Hunalya, reportedly knew of the attacks. However nothing directly indicates she herself was involved in the attacks.
It's confirmed that neither the acting Hegemon, James, had any hand in the attack as the leaks report James as an unknowing publicity stunt. Nor did the current Hegemon-Regent, Su-Mai Septim.
However this does not make Su Mai innocent. While Hegemon-Emeritus James Septim, was described as clueless and merely a public celebrity for the Orthodox Temple. These leaks indicate that Su Mai colluded with the Temple and undermined the Hegemon to gain power.
Divine Hegemonic state media also lied(surprising we know) with the release of approval ratings which have been proven to be manipulated and released by factions within the Orthodox Temple. At it's peak, when Su Mai came into power her approval rating spiked to 93% of the populous when indeed it had dipped below 50% and protest against her being a foreigner, were halted with military force. This unlikely partnership between Su Mai and the Orthodox Temple can be blamed on the beforehand known connections between Toshindainese bank investors, specifically the Nekhaga's, and Rayen Hunalya, who claiming to be an ascetic representative of the people, maintained a luxurious offshore account. This fact had been exposed inside of Tarranesia for a long time, however military oppression has quieted many dissenting voices. This lead to the exodus of religious minorities. What these document's do not tell is the faction behind the attacks on Neo Skyharbor. There is alot of speculation but it is a fact that the Orthodox Temple of Vahkeo was behind the attack. It was fabricated to be presented as Christian terrorist attack. This supposed attack, until now was deemed the worst terror attack in history, kill more than 3,000 Tarranesians. This false flag attack was used to justify an invasion of Nova Roma(a city-state), leading to a lengthy and costly war within within the massive city, leading to mounds of casualties in the bloodiest display of modern conventional warfare. Nova Roma had held off Tarranesia's efforts, even pushing them back as the terrain surrounding the city was tough to supply invading armies through. Nova Roma is now under control of General Zavala Draco, who took over the city and seceded it from the Divine Hegemony a few months ago. State media has downplayed the military's resilience to attack due to loyalty to the General, the military had outright refused and the Acolytes have established four autonomous governments on the four main islands. As these leaks come out, an emergency caucus is held without the Orthodox Temple or Hegemon. The voice of Archvizier Gripus has been completely ignored, as the government is fading into obscurity. Return of the Samurai? Rumors that Yoshimo-Shogunate aligned Samurai factions have been gaining traction within the Ikko Ikki state are confirmed and today Samurai are told to have been welcomed into the last stronghold after long months of fighting. This sudden return of more prominent Samurai is suspected to be because the legend of the return of Sora Yoshimo, the former Shogun who went missing. Many speculated his death, it had been considered a propaganda ploy to gain support, however today we have confirmation that Sora Yoshimo is indeed leading a new Samurai uprising. However, this Samurai uprising hasn't been fighting the Rennyo government, they've been fighting the Buke rebellion on their behalf. Reports from last year confirm internal conflicts regarding the Buke regarding the role of Samurai in Toshikawa, what natives call Toshindai. This Samurai uprising promises to promote the old ideals of the warrior and Katana Code, making the Samurai servants instead of tyrants or rulers. Sora Yoshimo, is leading this ideal, inspired by the western efforts of Gowu. He has not spoken publicly, nor can we reach him for a statement, but word has spread across the country quickly, seemingly halting much of the intense fighting in the mountainous country. Buke rebel leaders have proclaimed Sora Yoshimo, "Broken" and a "Coward" for "Abandoning the country and letting in turn to chaos when we needed the Shogunate the most." Many don't see it that way however, as Buke numbers are depleting and many in the nation celebrate the Shogun's 'revival' reveling him as immortal. Serious concerns of election rigging in Lakhzov election  President Sachim Kadassa out campaigning with his wife. Critics accuse him of being a dictator and fear he plans to rig the elections. Lakhzovia’s opposition leaders warned that the country risked a new descent into chaos, alleging that this week’s upcoming elections have been tainted by “monumental rigging” in which President Sachim Kadassa’s party has blocked millions from voting. With the polls just days away, Kadassa’s long-time thorn in the side Argan Tsagarai said he would refuse to accept the result when it comes, calling it “null and void” due to what he said are multiple instances of electoral fraud. His words were echoed by the Utman Liberation Organisation (ULO), with the Chairman Dr Racip Uttaman saying that Friday’s upcoming Senate poll had been “seriously compromised.” Tsagarai, who heads the Shanata Party is vying to win devolved powers for the Utman majority districts of Transmecuria as part of a plan to eventually win autonomous rule for the province. Speaking at a press conference, Tsagarai described the poll as a “huge farce”, and warned that it would destabilise an already crisis-ridden country. “The shoddy manner in which it has been conducted and the consequent illegitimacy of the result will plunge this country into a serious crisis,” he said, also citing accusations of the militarisation of the process, lack of transparency in ballot printing, and double voting. Meanwhile Uttaman of the ULO described what he called “monumental rigging” by Kadassa’s Lakhov National Congress Party. “It was done in a manner so crude it is unbelievable,” said Uttaman, who is currently exiled from the country. “Lakhzovia has suffered a democratic deficit ever since Kadassa and the nationalists came to power. We have heard reports from our contacts within Lakhzovia that mass voter intimidation is occurring in rural areas at the hands of the Hand of Emet militia, while those in urban areas are telling us that they fear reprisals if they turn out en masse for the vote.” Despite this Dr Uttaman and the ULO have been calling for all eligible Utman citizens to come out and vote for the Shanata Party stating “While we believe that this election will be far from free or fair, we understand that a politically engaged population at the ballot box is one step closer to freedom. People will be outraged at the result when the election is rigged and we hope that this outrage can be channelled into genuine political change for our people.” Apparently supporting the accusations of electoral abnormalities is the International Electoral Monitoring Group (IEMG), a coalition of 31 international non-governmental organisations, which has released a report accusing Kadassa of trying to interfere in the democratic process through state media bias, a campaign of intimidation in rural areas, and a rushed electoral process designed to take advantage of the inability of large numbers of internally displaced Utman to cast their vote. “These factors on their own fundamentally undermine the degree to which the election can be considered to reflect the will of the Lakhzov people,” the group said in its report. The Lakhzov National Congress Party dismissed the claims of vote fixing, while predicting that the party would be re-elected with a handsome majority. “We are expecting a landslide victory and the annihilation of the Shanata Party in Transmecuria” said Tesan Cikniye, Minister for Foreign Affairs. However others are sceptical of the LNCP’s prospects for a major breakthrough, even with voter rigging. Laian Illaniy, leader of the Democratic Alliance has warned that the current tensions within the LNCP between Kadassa’s faction and that of the Lakhzov Home faction could scupper the party’s plans to increase their representation in Transmecuria, with the likelihood of split votes leading to some surprising outcomes. Despite the electoral manipulation he claims that Kadassa will be hard pressed to rig the election in highly contested electoral districts for fear of triggering a full blown faction war and possibly a split in the LNCP. The longer term effect of the vote, Illaniy says, will the reversal of the steady progress the country has made in recent years to restore its ailing economy and regain international respectability. “It will be hard for the LNCP to say that the result reflects the genuine will of the people, and this will impact relations with International community and future investment,” he said. “It’s a very sad day. Having finally opened up the country and stabilising the security situation, this will send us right back to the worst days of the past decade and means the aspirations of the people will not be met.” Foreign election observers are banned from the country and the government has instituted a policy banning media from carrying out, or reporting polling. The government claims that this is to prevent pernicious, anti-government interference by foreign powers and interests groups, however many believe that it is to effectively make it impossible for the populace to determine if electoral rigging has occurred. The Great Deception As you may know by now, the Temclusi government deadline to all in rebel territories ended last night with the rebels refusing to lay down their arms. Muslim Aid Relief Organisation reports indicated that no new IDPs entered their camps meaning hundreds of civilians still lay im danger. Regardless of this by 11:05 PM residents of nearby hillside villages claim to have witnessed the commencement of what appears to be a indiscriminate bombing campaign carried out by elements of the TPDF. Reports are conflicting but some videos and pictures, taken from the villages have surfaced online showing the rebel area being lit up by air and heavy ground artillery strikes. My sources tell me gunfire was not heard until 6am but artillery barrages and bombing raged all throughout the night. "By 8am buildings were being demolished using explosives and even tank fire." Are we returning to the days of senseless ethnic violence?  Above:mobile phone footage taken from inside the town was posted on social media briefly before the account was taken down. Children can be seen crying halfway through. 5 hours before 11pm the all journalists covering the situation from Government lines were sent hundreds of kilometers back to Heshran City. With officials citing their "security is at risk". So far there has been no statement on casualties or even confirmation of such an operation taking place but there needs to be justice for the hundreds of unarmed women and children that still remained in those territories after the deadlines. So I would like to leave you with these questions. Could the TPDF have committed crimes war crimes by carpet bombing hundreds of civilians? Why has noone been allowed to visit the affected area? While short of the numbers required to form an absolute majority they share sufficient legislative priorities with other parties to be fairly secure in their ability to get their agenda pushed forward, and it is expected that should they be allowed to take their rightful seats that their first item of business would be the lifting of the state of emergency an act which would trigger a Presidential election as Kadassa's term is currently extended on the basis of emergency powers. The result is particularly shocking as Kadassa's LNCP was virtually wiped out in the capital province of Khakh with the Democratic Alliance gobbling up districts which 10 years ago were solidly green. More shocking still the split of districts in the province has resulted in the Shanata Party as the largest party and in a position to obtain the governorship. Interestingly a large swathe of LNCP losses in Khakh are due to the massive victories of the Axicz Progressive Party in the west Axicz plateau. Historically this part of the plateau falling inside the capital province fell to the LNCP in the founding negotiations between the sister parties of the LNCP and Axicz National Congress over the division of electoral districts each would run in. The result was that the Axicz of the western plateau were unable to obtain their own ethnic representation in the Provincial Senate and were neglected in favour of the rapidly developing south. The APP not restricted by such an electoral pact have spent a decade engaged in activist work resulting in their massive gains. In light of this fragmented political landscape it is understandable why Kadassa's regime is delaying the outcome, while many expect that when the results are finally announced that they will have been heavily manipulated. Unhappy at the delay thousands of Democratic Alliance supporters have taken to the streets across the country demanding that the government acknowledge the results of the election. The government has responded by deploying the military to the nation's heartland while DA leader Argan Tsagarai has called for calm and restraint.  HEMP NOT THE CLEAN FUTURE With Rokkenjima recently announcing the creation of Organisation of Sustainable Energy Producers (OSEP) while advocating for the use of Hempoline on a grander scale leading Nordic scientist. Dr. Felix Gustavasson has spoken about his concerns by the revolutionary fuel. "Hempoline is being hailed as the future, while I merely see it as a short term response to the weaning off oil process. Hempoline is, at least theoretically sustainable, much more so than oil, gas or coal. However turning the world into a Hempoline using environment is neither possible nor desirable. First if we look at the global agricultural situation, experts claim that as much as 1,000 gallons of fuel can be produced from 1 acre of land, that so far has been 27-36 gallons[1] As such the amount of the crop required to fill a 25 gallon fuel tank will feed one person for a year in the developing world. It is this developing world where much of this crop will be grown as farmers see it as a way of producing funds for their family. Furthermore the crop is likely to see a lack of diversity in local food production, this in turn will push the price of other foods up as their will be less farm land used to grow them as land is turned over to the production of biofuel. This will push food prices up meaning in LEDC's people will be less able to provide for their families. What we will see is the richer nations of the world, such as Rokkenjima, using poorer nations such as Zimalia as a source of fuel, much like we see already in a way in the regard that LEDC's allow themselves to be plundered in order to fuel the oil greed of the MEDC's. Next while, at least in theory, the production of Hemp would see us have a long term supply of fuel the long term environmental impact of hempoline is not necessarily positive. As we will require large areas of prime agricultural land for the growth of this we are likely to see clearance of large areas of woodland and forest to grow it[2] This destruction of forest can and will have a longer term impact, people claim the growth of Hemp will help absorb carbon, and they are correct, but if we are replacing trees with hemp the net effect is that we actually lose carbon absorbtion. We will also need to power the facilities required to heat and manufacture this new fuel, this will require electricity, and the process also requires water, large amounts[3] of water, as these are thirsty crops. Again in LEDC's, already stressed with water scarcity we will be increasing their problems. We also have a clean air issue also, when hempoline is burnt it produces formaldehyde, acetaldehyde and other aldehydes. In limited studies it has been shown that when these fuels are used there can be a 160% increase in the presence of formaldehyde in the atmosphere [4] Therefore while this may be economically sustainable for MEDC's it is environmentally still a problem. I admire the fact that someone is stepping up trying to end our reliance on fossil fuels, however Hempoline and associated biofuels are not, at this time, the solution for the long term. They present an issue in terms of food v's fuel and even their environmental impact is a long term health issue. I therefore would like to see OSEP not focus too much on this at the expense of other solutions which present a real opportunity to be long term sustainable for both the economy and the planet." Terror on the streets of Lakhzovia as Government crackdown begins   Reports and footage from our contacts inside Lakhzovia appear to show that the country is in the midst of a government crackdown on dissenters. In a radio broadcast at 21:00 the Security Minister of Lakhzovia Shalmi Meirah announced the imposition of a curfew and the curtailment of basic civil rights, while also threatening reprisals for those remaining on the streets. This announcement came as a result of the outbreak of violence on the streets of the capital where hardcore supporters of the Kadassa regime were bussed in by the government in order to attempt to reclaim the streets. These supporters then attacked the Democratic Alliance protesters triggering the outbreak of riots providing the government the pretext it required to launch a crackdown. As the midnight deadline for the start of curfew approached there was little sign that anyone was going anywhere and a little before midnight tanks began to enter the city centre while the numbers of heavy riot police were increased with the Security Ministry announcing the cancellation of all leave and for all emergency personnel to report to duty immediately. UPDATE - Happening Now We are receiving unconfirmed reports that the military has effectively created a cordon around the centre of Nakim and have begun advancing forward. It has been claimed that one person has had his leg crushed after a tank failed to halt its advanced down the street, he had been lying in the street in protest. Other reports claim that police snatch squads are seizing people from the crowd while a large group of people are being slowly herded by police horse and baton charges towards the Nakim Bay Stadium indicating that the police are attempting a mass arrest. |

Mechean Opposition Leader Challenges Corporate Political Influence in Court Opposition and Liberal Progressive Party leader Ert Lukax has filed a pair of lawsuits in the Federal Courts aimed at challenging the current state of megacorporate influence in the federal government. While initially submitted to a Furiktik Community Court, High Arbitrator Edgard Acker has moved the case to the Mechean Supreme Court. The first of these legal challenges is targeted at a number of public officials, including both President Aza Olit and Vice President Amika Aracan, over alleged conflicts of interest. Director Lukax and his legal team argue that these individuals, by all being high ranking officials of Meche’s largest corporations, have a conflict of interest between their public duties and their corporate interests. He argues that it is in the public interest that these persons sever their corporate ties so that they can be devoted wholly to their governmental duties, or that they be removed from the government, on the basis of select constitutional requirements. The second of these challenges revolves around the ownership of public shares by Aracan Consolidated Enterprises, Matifan Amalgamated Industries, Takiv Unlimited, and the Tosevok Corporation. He argues that ownership of public shares by these corporations is in violation of the constitutional requirement that public shareholders must be legal persons with Mechean citizenship. While allowing that the corporations are legal persons with Mechean residence, he argues that they do not technically have Mechean citizenship as they are group entities rather than individual persons, and that even if citizenship were extended to group entities, the latter three firms would be reasonably inapplicable for such citizenship as not all shareholders of these corporations are Mechean citizens. |

CARPENTER RETURNS  This week the CTO turned back the clock when Tim Carpenter of East Moreland was appointed the new Secretary General of the CTO. Carpenter was the organisation's first Sec-Gen and we had the first official interview with the man now in charge of one of Mundus' largest, and most under fire organisations. What prompted you to return for a second term in the CTO? I've had the opportunity to work with quiet a few organisations and groups across Mundus, I've seen the importance of international co-operation and I know first hand the fact that if the CTO is going to work it needs someone at the helm who has no personal agenda, no deep seated political ties and is open. I believe my first stint saw me take advantage of the fact I'm all those things and the organisation was active. It broke my heart seeing the thing I helped get moving forward dying. When King David was looking for a Morelander to nominate I felt I still had something to offer. What do you believe has been the CTO's biggest problem? I think it has two. The first is an over-reliance of the same three nations, during the last few crisis it's been left to East Moreland, Achkaerin and Rokkenjima to be the ones pushing for resolutions, using the organisation. The CTO has no leading nation and never will have, if for example Heyra, one of the smallest nations on Mundus, jointed to organisation they would find their voice equally as loud as Rokkenjima. Sadly no other nations have been seen to present resolutions or even challenge established views in debates. I'm looking for newer members to start chipping in and making the organisation truly global. The second issue I think the CTO has is it's past, it now carries several marks of shame, the Ardian Genocide, the destruction of the UNP, these events saw the organisation fail to harness its potential, those non members out there, especially the genocide victims and the government of Nya Aland can look at use and rightful not trust us to do what is right and that spreads. What will you be doing to advance the CTO? We've three sub organisations that do vital work, they have no leaders, their rudderless. I hope to put someone in charge of each in the coming days, I've my eyes on a few targets but if someone steps forward and says "Hey Tim, I can do the job, I've got this great idea" then why not, lets see what a willing voulenteer can do. The Mundus Crime Agency in my view needs to be reformed, next we have the Refugee Council it did some good work setting up the CTO Uppsala Response Team, sadly only two nations provided manpower there. Finally we have the Health Organisation that had a golden opportunity to do real good during the Jacobsen Virus outbreak, however it did zero. I need people in place to be proactive as these organisations can do a great deal of good. I also need to get new blood in, there are a lot of nations not members and I need to work out why and get them onside. Hence why I'm getting my rucksack on and heading around Mundus to see what folks have to say. What is in your view the biggest threat to world stability? I think we have a pretty stable Mundus at the moment, my big concern is how insular the world is becoming, nobody does anything unless there is automatic instant gain for themselves and thats no way to be. Human life is worth more than any prestige, bank balance or any other motive for sitting back and watching the world struggle. Nations should realise if one nation struggles it will have knock on effects, same if a nation thrives. We need to work together to make Mundus a better place and that takes teamwork. Apathy is the biggest threat to world stability. What are your views on Nuclear Weapons? That's a tough one, the issue is we can't turn back time. They exist, they are part of our world, we've pulled the cork out the bottle and now you can't put back the wine you've poured. They are of course frightening, I am thankful that at present we have so few nations with them, and I'd like to keep it that way. In my view we have a weird situation where the three nations with them are friends, it does beg the question as to why that's happened. We're not going to get Rokkenjima, Achkaerin and East Moreland to put them away and decommission them, anyone who thinks that's a possibility isn't living in the real world. What I would like to see is these three nations committing to a series of policies designed to reassure the world that these are not a threat, I generally think we can see that is the case anyway from the past actions of each nation. It is my hope an active and fair CTO will see other nations in the world have the confidence to feel they can use our organisation to solve problems and therefore not need nuclear weapons. WHO ARE THE BENE GESSERIT  In recent days the nation of Kaitaine's state controlled media has been full of mentions of the Bene Gesserit, a faith believed to have been unique to Kaitaine and wiped out during the Communist uprising and subsequent USR occupation during the late 19th Century. The recent mentions have labelled them terrorists, whores, witches and several other rather negative terms. Very little of this faith is known outside of Kaitaine and what is known has largely been controlled by a regime which has banned religion. However in some tiny libaries and dark recesses of the internet their exists ancient texts and documents that allow a committed thelogical researcher to piece things together, and they paint a far different picture to those of the Kaitaine media. The faith, as described by Prof. Maxim Kolarov of Lodja, is one of mystery in its very nature as he explains. "The Bene Gesserit is strange in that it does not claim to have a God or Gods, some faithful have written using the term God while others Gods, what they emphasis is the need to search for answers and lead a life in the pursuit of good deeds. A far cry from terrorism described by Kataine. Furthermore they emphasis scholarly study, the faith have produced many great poets, scientists, historians and engineers. One ancient text says that a Bene Gesserits strength is their ignorance as it means they have to constantly strive for knowledge." The faith also combines religions as each devotee interprets the faith slightly different, therefore there is a branch of the faith that combines the Cult of Helus with Islam, the exact manner of which lost to time. The faith also is dominated by woman who fulfil all the roles within it, and the order had four specialist roles. The first was the Mother's, religious leaders passing on the mythology of the order and its rituals, these were recorded and stored by a scholarly sect known as the Missionra Protectiva, their primary concern being family histories. These family histories could be complex as the ancient Bene Gesserit saw a need to produce superior bloodlines to produce a male super being which will be needed at a time of great universal disaster, this superhuman known as the Kwizach Hadarach. As such not only did prominent males father children with their wives, often selected for them by the orders head known as the Reverened Mother, but they also took concubines religiously trained by the Order known as the Honored Matres. This whole order was protected by a group of soldiers known as the Truthsayers who dedicated their lives to defend the order. These Truthsayers have attempted several coups in Kaitaine over the decades and these have all failed however the Truthsayers have demonstrated that they are competent soldiers. The faith however was slaughtered branch and root in the early 1900's and an estimated 200 or so remain in Kaitaine where they are hunted down and blamed as terrorists. However this leads to a question, for an organisation so disciplined and focused on their task of proserving mankind through a great Universal disaster how have they disappeared. It is the belief of many a conspiracy theorist that the numbers of faithful is more in the millions, hiding their faith waiting for the time when a new religious leader comes to power leading the faithful in a new coup. Other theorists also believe that the faithful are in hiding acrss Mundus all waiting for a call home. Now however with the persecution of the faith in Kiatiane it is likely that those rumours are false or if they are true that the time could come sooner rather than later for their uprising in an all or nothing effort to save their religion. |

SECURITY BREACH AT EAST MORELAND "KILOTONNES TO KILOWATTS" PROJECT  Secret reports obtained by the Free Mundus Network have shown that the new East Moreland project known as "Kilotonnes to Kilowatts" has been found to be "insecure". The project is taking four nuclear weapons and decommissioning them by converting them to nuclear fuel for power stations. The weapons were taken to a military base in Ostlake where they were processed and disassembled, they were then transported to a power station some 15km away in small batches. During these transports members of East Moreland's special forces unit, Red Legion, conducted security tests and on two occasions filed reports stating, "Had our Legionnaires been committed to taking the nuclear material there was nothing that could have stopped them." These tests are designed to inform security of potential dangers. Free Mundus Network have obtained these reports from a "concerned member of staff" involved in the process. To date there have been 10 transports of material, however the number of tests has not been possible to confirm. When we presented these findings to the East Moreland government Royal Press Secretary Malcolm Tucker stated, "This is a non-story, we're talking about the best soldiers in the world who are know for out the box thinking checking on this security, rest assured they'd find a way to get the job done, that's why their the best. The great thing is we now know how the job would be done and we're better prepared. There is nothing to worry about. The announcement is merely scaremongering." He failed to address questions about whether Red Legion where now involved in security on these transports, however our observations did spot several armed military vehicles at the Ostlake facility leading some to think that regular armed police have been replaced. One military expert stated, "Nuclear material is a real threat to the world, it doesn't need to be a professional bomb, just some strapped to a regular bomb can cause huge damage that will take decades to sort out. Its necessary every precaution is taken to ensure the security of these materials. The project is a noble one but that can't compromise security." |

Utman Independence Movement gains strength as Autonomous Government takes form The recent unilateral declaration of an independent Utman Republic in the north west of Lakhzovia by the Utman Liberation Organisation has been greeted with lukewarm support by the international community who while supportive of the Utman liberation struggle have been sceptical of its ability to overcome the enormity of the challenge to form a functioning state while under the oppressive rule of the Kadassa Regime. However recent developments provide some indications that the optimists may be correct in their assessment that now is the right time for such an audacious project. Asides from the ongoing political crisis which has effectively crippled the Lakhzov government since the regime refused to release the results of an election they are widely believed to have lost, there has been a significant shift in the alignment of political forces within the Utman sector. For example yesterday the Utman Shanata Party which is a legally recognised party with seats in both the national and provincial congresses has voted overwhelmingly on a motion to unite with the Utman liberation Organisation at an emergency session of the Party Central Committee held in Khalin. Reading a prepared statement the party secretary announced the news to crowds of cheering Utman who had gathered in Taksi square in Khalin’s old city. “The Shanata Party has long stood for the empowerment of the Utman people to have the fullest possible control over their own destiny, we now find ourselves faced with the very real prospect of self-rule or destruction. While historically we have had our differences with the ULO and their maximalist programme, believing that it could only bring greater suffering for our people we are forced to accept now the success of the ULO project and have therefore agreed by majority vote of the Party Central Committee to unite with the ULO in order to form a unity government of the revived Utman Republic. We have directed our elected officials to make all necessary preparations at the greatest possible haste for the transition to self-rule.” Meanwhile the exiled ULO leader Dr. Racip Uttaman has returned to the newly born Utman State to assume the role of Provisional President of the new Utman Unity Government (UUG). In his first speech to a meeting of the UUG he emphasised the importance of decisive action and the winning of international recognition. During the session concerns were raised by some members of the new government that so far only two nations have given a caveated promise of recognition. They fear that without greater international recognition the new state will be crushed by the Kadassa Regime, Uttaman is reported to have replied that "the nations of the world are sympathetic to the plight of the Utman people, my talks with representatives of the various powers throughout my years in exile has assured me of this, what we need to do now is to show the will to power and begin the act of self-rule now, not to sit and wait for negotiations that will not come." |

Genocide of Culture in Lalishistan Lalishi Cultural Awareness Day has been declared by independence campaigners in Lalishistan, to publicise the ongoing cultural genocide of the Lalishi people. Lalishisthan, or North Anada District as the Saheristani goverment calls it, is the historical homeland of the Lalishi people. The Lalishi are, in most countries, culturally, historically and linguistically classified seperately from the majority Saheri. The 1991 Cultural Harmonisation Act instated Saheri alone as the official language of Saheristan, and relegated Lalishi to a "dialect" of Saheri, regardless of the substantial differences between the two alphabets and languages. As a dialect, the Lalishi language is forbidden in governmental and educational contexts, nor can any Lalishi-language book, film, literary study or scholarly paper be legally published. Radio and television stations cannot broadcast in the language without incurring punitive fines. Even before this, giving information on various municipal services such as culture, art, environment, city cleaning and health in languages other than Saheri was and remains against the Constitution. Against this background, the active colonisation of Lalishi land by Saheri settlers should come as no suprise. We spoke to ex-farmer Tahir Tewfiq, whose land was seized under eminent domain before being awarded to his newly arrived Saheri neighbours, as part of what the Saheristani government calls "local redevelopment". Lakhzovia tests new MRBM amid rising regional tensions  Lakhzovia has drawn condemnation from across the world as it carried out a test of a new medium range ballistic missile amid rising tensions in the region. The new missile designated as the LMBM-02, code named Sikmir II flew for thirty minutes before crashing into the Krimeon sea demonstrating a significantly increased range on its predecessor the Sikmir I with the potential to hit targets as far away as the coastal regions of northern Ardia. Experts believe that the timing of the test, coming as it does during a period of crisis and growing international pressure on Lakhzovia, was designed as a show of strength and a warning that Lakhzovia is capable of striking naval targets far outside their territorial waters, a feat that until a couple of years ago they had not been able to achieve. The most obvious target of the message is Rokkejima with whom relations have been particularly tense since the departure of Empress Beatrice who had been particularly indulgent towards the Kadassa Regime and had turned a blind eye to the growth of the Lakhzov missile programme as well as the worrying trend towards the rapid militarisation of the Lakhzov state. While Lakhzovia watchers do not believe that the Kadassa Regime would risk starting a direct military confrontation with the Rokkenjiman superpower the message is clearly one of deterrence. Worryingly such preparations suggest that Lakhzovia anticipates the failure of the Rokkenjiman attempts to find a diplomatic resolution to the Utman crisis, indeed some commentators suggest that the regime is set on crushing the Utman freedom movement by force and is using the Rokkenjiman diplomatic push to buy time while they make further preparations. This then begs the question, how will the world respond to the threat of yet another genocide committed by a belligerent state that has demonstrated that it has little regard for human rights or the norms of international law? |

These connections are what inspired him set up his company, Traverse, in Ahkabnil, as everything “Fell in Place” and he knew the language. “The market is fairly saturated in Moreland itself, there are monopolies that are hard to get by.” the Ahkabnilese government offered Richard James a unqiue deal, one which permitted him to construct launchpads and runways in designated parts of the country in conjunction with public construction companies like ‘Teohl’ and ‘Binchuyi Inc’ as well as deals with native aerospace industries like ‘Starlane’ and ‘Kechkul’ for the co-development of rocket and plane parts. Richard James also acquired subsidization from the Ahkabnilese government. The Airforces Space Division(Huli Ahlek - HULEK) Commander, Tekoni Uhzin, was the chief contributor to the acquisition stating, “Traverse has alot of pull, and so far they’ve shown tremendous prowess in spaceflight engineering. In conjunction with each other i believe we can work toward great things.” HULEK de-orbited the Ahkabnilese Space Station ‘Seeker’ in 1993 and had since then, just cooperated with aerospace companies in designing and testing new aircraft, since then Ahkabnil had outsourced few satellite launches except military ones, which the Space Division belongs to. However with Traverse, HULEK is offering facilities and the government had created the ‘Civil Space Division’ (YELA) in order to compensate for Traverse’s civilian geared space tourism mission. Richard James has stated that, “I hope the private space industries can kick off beyond providing rocket parts, with research subsidization i’m sure we can accomplish what we need in a timely manner.” Traverse has already announced its “optimal” rocket design, saying that Traverse’s rockets will be powered by a Starlane S1-2 solid boosters and Traverse’s very own ‘Atomic C rocket engine’ a liquid fuel engine that Richard says one day will be ‘really nuclear’.
