![]() Fairview Islands Football Federation (FIFF) Announce New League GREENVILLE, Fairview Islands - A big announcement has been released earlier today by the Football Federation of the Fairview Islands. A new football league has been established for the Islands following increasing popularity of the sport. This has been largely due to the recent qualification of Fairview in the upcoming Mundus World Cup. The league had been in discussion by several top members of the Federation for the past several weeks. Details of the league are minimal, but here is what FINN has uncovered thus far. Twelve teams from across the Islands will play each other once home and once away in a double round robin format. The team who finishes with the most points at the end of the season will become Fairview's national champions and will be eligible to participate in the Mundus Champions League. It had not been announced yet if there will be a secondary league which will allow promotion and relegation. Logos and uniforms have also not been announced as of yet for the clubs. Host Cities for the competition will be Bayonne, Fort Pierce, Georgetown, Greenville, Kingston, Lakewood, Lexington, Milltown, Newport, Providence, Port James, and Riverside. All teams have available a stadium capacity of 15,000 or greater with Port James being the largest, being able to seat close to 34,000 people. As mentioned above, more details will be released as soon as more information is available. ------------------ COMMENTS [TOP] ------------------ @hillman_thomas: Can't wait until this thing kicks off!
