 Bringing the news to you since 1908  SEBASTYAN LISZ; NEW MAYOR OF POLYANA The Results of Last Week's Elections are in, and it was revealed 47 year old Sebastyan Lisz of United Brusnya came out victorious in the polls. From the start of the race it had been evident Mr. Lisz was a fan-favorite among the citizens of our capital, and early polls even had predicted he would be victorious. It was a very close race, at one point it even seemed that Mr. Lisz was not going to win the elections when it was leaked by an unnamed source that his opponent, 59 year old Heinrich Kohl of the Democratic Party was far ahead of him in the polls. But in the end, Mr. Lisz came out victorious. Tomorrow morning at eight o' clock on national television, Mr. Lisz will be inaugurated as Mayor of Polyana by President Ivanovich. We have reached out to the Office of Mr. Lisz for a comment on his victory, but we have yet to receive an official response. NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM ASSEMBLED After months of intensive scouting by the top scouts of the BSL [Brusnyan Soccer League], it was announced today that a team of Brusnya's best soccer players has been assembled. Listed below, are the players for the new national team, and their positions on the field. They will be playing a 4-3-2-1 formation. It may be interesting to note, that Brusnya's favorite player; Robert Semyonovich almost did not make the cut, but eventually was picked after all due to another player declining the offer for a spot on the team. The name of the aforementioned player, is unknown.

Bringing the news to you since 1908   EAST MORELAND, DIJEL LEADERS RESPOND TO PRESIDENT IVANOVICH Recently, President Ivanovich has written a letter to the leaders of Mundus, expressing his desire to forge diplomatic ties, as well as bonds of friendship between Brusnya and the outside world. This, has not happened in almost three-hundred years that a President of our nation has ever reached out to the other nations of Mundus and their respective leaders. This letter, marks the end of many years of political and social isolation from the outside world. The first to respond to his letter, were Archduchess Sophie Harrison-Ironside of East Moreland, and Prime Minister Ronan Vallerius of Dijel. The two leaders of the respective nations graciously accepted our President's hand in friendship, and even responded to his suggestion that he perhaps could come visit their nations or that they come visit Brusnya's capital; Polyana. The latter, was something the two world leaders seemed interested in as well. While we do not know what's to come, we anticipate that the relationships between Brusnya and East Moreland, as well as between Brusnya and Dijel, will be strong ones.  WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION MARK HENRY STILL CHAMPION Last night, WWE World Champion Mark Henry retained his WWE World Championship Title in a battle of the greats. He faced former champion John Cena, who lost the title to the creator of the Hall of Pain two months ago and has been attempting to win the title back ever since. In a fifteen minute battle that seemed like it was never going to end, the two men fought as if they were involved in an all-out war. While there were moments that it seemed like Henry did not even need to put up an effort to knock the living daylights out of Cena, Cena himself had a few moments of his own where he seemed almost invincible, and invulnerable to Henry's hard-hitting attacks. In the last two minutes, Cena seemingly became a super-hero of some sorts when he managed to hoist the 400-pounder up on his shoulders for an Attitude Adjustment, but failed to execute the move; Henry's weight caused Cena's legs to buckle which caused him to fall down and practically be crushed underneath Henry's weight, who ended the battle with a World's Strongest Slam followed up by a devastating splash from the second rope. Henry is scheduled to face Kane and Bad News Barrett in a triple threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship at this Sunday's Pay-Per-View; Money in the Bank. Matches scheduled for the Pay-Per-View also include Jack Swagger versus Bray Wyatt for the Intercontinental Championship, and the annual six-man Money In The Bank ladder match. |

Bringing the news to you since 1908   ROKKENJIMAN, SPARTAN LEADERS ALSO RESPOND TO PRESIDENT IVANOVICH'S LETTER Not long after the leaders from Dijel and East Moreland responded to the letter of President Ivanovich that ended hundreds of years of political and social isolation, Vicegerent Euphemia Anselmo of Rokkenjima and President Carl Solon of the United Spartan States have followed suit. Much like the East Morelandish and Dijeli leaders, they have expressed willingness to forge bonds of friendship as well as diplomatic ones. It remains to be seen if more leaders of the world shall follow suit, but the response received so far already is formidable as it is. |

Bringing the news to you since 1908  WHAT IS A BORLANDER? Was the question asked by Maksim Ivanovich, the youngest son of President Ivanovich, to Rynath Lielor, Dumatil of the Hall of Air and Chairman of the Odmonian Communist Party. She had tweeted out something regarding the 'Borlanders', to which the young man responded with the question 'What is a Borlander?'. He received a response to this question, from an actual Borlander. By a man known as 'King Kyle Barren', to be precise. This man, is supposedly the 'King', of the 'Borlanders'. But that was not the only response that the young man had gotten to his question. An account going by the handle of '@SWC_MrsKingsBlood' tweeted to him;  'Kings Blood', is a terrorist organization that recently has tried to assassinate King David of East Moreland. In an attack that left many wounded, and even caused the death of an important Government Official, they attempted to assassinate East Moreland's King, but they ultimately failed at doing so, only leaving the King badly injured. The young man did not seem too fazed by this threat, however, and tweeted out the following in response;  Perhaps this was not the wisest move to make, but it does show that a Brusnyan is not afraid of empty threats. The young man then went on to rattle the cage of 'King Kyle', minutes later.  While neither accounts have tweeted out a response to the President's youngest son, we suspect they might do this soon. And it also has left us with the question 'Will this have any type of backlash for the young man or for the people of Brusnya? Will we now have to fear a terrorist attack on Brusnyan soil might take place because of what a child has tweeted? We also would like to take this moment to send out our heartfelt condolences to the Kingdom of East Moreland to those who have lost someone during the assassination attempt on their King's life, and we also send our best wishes to those injured during that very attack, and hope they will have a speedy recovery  FOREIGN MINISTER ROBERT KENNEDY OF EAST MORELAND VISITS PRESIDENT IVANOVICH Today, Robert Kennedy, the Foreign Minister of East Moreland, visited President Ivanovich to discuss several topics -that have not been revealed yet by the Government's Press Office-. The foreign diplomat arrived early in the morning, alongside two other East Morelanders who were not, unlike Mr. Kennedy, government officials. After an exchange of gifts, they were taken to the Presidential Palace outside of Polyana where they would have tea, and would discuss several political topics. Inside sources reveal that both the President and Foreign Minister Kennedy of East Moreland were quite positive during these talks, and that they have made several agreements on topics such as the ease of traveling restrictions between East Moreland and Brusnya, though this remains unconfirmed as of yet. Bringing the news to you since 1908  TROUBLE TO COME FOR PRESIDENT'S SON? Recently, we reported that the youngest son of President Ivanovich; Maksim Ivanovich, had received two tweets from known international terrorists when he had asked nothing more than an innocent question to a foreign politician who tweeted something about 'Borlanders'. It is rumored that many of the active, as well as retired politicians are not happy with the president's youngest offspring, and that they are even calling for a restriction of internet usage across all of Brusnya. While the President has ruled that out, it is not known whether his son has been reprimanded for what has happened, even though it happened completely unintentional. |

Bringing the news to you since 1908  ACTIVISTS ARRESTED Two activists have been arrested today in Polyana's city center, where they were participating in a protest rally against something that was not quite clear to the local authorities. Protesters started tossing various objects and firecrackers at Police officers who were only monitoring the ordeal to make sure it would be a peaceful event, which led to the arrest of two notorious activists named Mark Melikov and Erik Hetagurov.  Melikov (R) and Hetagurov (L), posted this picture on social media an hour prior to the protest rally The two young men - according to several eyewitnesses - were throwing rocks and various other objects at the police officers on the scene and resisted against their arrest. Mr. Melikov, age 23 attempted to flee the scene shortly after Mr. Hetagurov, age 20, had already been detained by a police officer. He was, however, arrested at the city's airport where he attempted to buy a plane ticket for a plain headed for East Moreland. The reason as for why he was attempting to flee to East Moreland, is unknown. Both men were the only ones captured, the other activists managed to evade arrest. The duo is scheduled to stand trial in the next couple of weeks. Local authorities have denied speculation that Mr. Melikov and Mr. Hetagurov were arrested because they are homosexuals, and that the protest rally was for equal rights for homosexuals in Brusnya. Bringing the news to you since 1908  EAST MORELAND AMBASSADOR APPOINTED It was announced today that Madam Anastasya Dobrev has been appointed as Brusnya's Ambassador for the new Embassy in East Moreland. President Ivanovich himself has appointed the seventy-nine year old politician to this position, this move makes another step in the President's plan to open the nation to the international community. Madam Dobrev has been active in Brusnya's political scene for over forty years now, and is famous for being the first ever female politician in Brusnya. She has fought for equal rights for women in Brusnya for almost her entire career, and has accomplished many things in this field. |
