NKBC Yer-Sub Celebrations ![]() Following the start of a new year, many within the nation have began to and have already participated in the annual 'Yer-sub' with over 170 cows being selected for ceremonial preparation. This marks the largest offering within the past 35 years, a request by the Empress herself in hopes of gaining the favor of Tengri and the seasons. While such a large massacre is not uncommon within our nations history, each has always been performed by Khan's who seek great reformation against tides of unchanging winds. The Empress continues to reassure the nations elderly and youth that this massacre shall not be the last under her rule, nor will it be the last throughout the entire Stra dynasty. A promise she hopes will dissuade any conservative push back against planned reforms. Military Suppresses Ikh'erin Religious Minority ![]() Soldier raises regimental colors Following the Royal Palace decree of Yer-Sub, religious minorities in the tribal lands of O'kara took up arms against the surrounding authorities, pleading exemption from the decree and threatening full secession if demands are not met. The primarily Hindu-led force consisted of around 700 armed combatants and 1,400 unarmed supported who assisted in engineering efforts to block off roads, secure outlying towns, and demolish public and government property. The minority itself stems from a missionary effort back in the 1000's which sought the conversion of the nation to Hindu practices and the establishment of caste. While the movement failed to catch on, the province itself became well known and avid supporters of the faith and have long remained docile. Their leader "Ak'er", as he is known, announced the following hours before the initial revolt was telegraphed:
While the initial revolt was met with temporary success, governmental forces have since stormed the local villages and towns and enacted a curfew of 8:00pm. Citizens are warned that any further resistance shall be met with suitable force. A militia of 500 soldiers were dispatched as-per Royal Palace's demands. While no fighting has been reported, tensions are undoubtedly high and cause for violence around every corner. |
