 PRINCESS ELIANOR INJURED ON ROYAL HUNT  Princess Elianor "The Courageous" has been injured in the latest Royal Hunt. The hunt, which takes place with weapons from the medieval period so as to reflect the nations proud heritage, was taking place in the woodland outside of the town of Hanoon when the Princess was apparently attacked by a puma. It is understood that she is expected to make a full recovery and that the puma was dealt with by Crown Prince Manius and Prince Robin. This incident has led to several calls from the populace that the hunts should be revised to avoid dangers like this though the King has not been reachable for comment. |

KING RICHARD IN ILL HEALTH  King Richard is reportedly in bad health. The King who has not been publicly seen for several weeks has been admitted to the Royal hospital in Oakshield. The King's health has been a concern for many years however it was believed that he was making excellent progress in his battle against the cancer. The Royal family have confirmed that at present the King will not be carrying out any official duties and that for the moment the duties will be split between Queen Isabel and the King's children. There is currently no prognosis for the King though the longer this continues the more people will begin to ask questions about his fitness to rule. |

VAFLEON MOVES ONTO INTERNATIONAL STAGE  The rumors around King Richard's health continue to not only circulate but seemingly grow in credibility, it has been the way for some months now. The increase in credibility of these reports comes from the new direction of Vafleon's relationship with the rest of the world, while King Richard has in the past preferred appeasement of the nobles at home there appears to now be a change in plan, as Crown Prince Manius (pictured above) has according to reports signed Vafleon up to the Council of Illumic Nations otherwise known as COIN. Such a dramatic shift has caused much discussion among the nobles and the people leading many to believe that the reign of King Richard is nearing its end and at some point soon the Crown Prince will ascend to the throne. It is also believed that Vafleon will, if the present trend is anything to go by, look to expand on this by signing other such treaties. |

FOUR HUNDRED DEAD, TWO HUNDRED WOUNDED IN TERRORIST ATTACK  A missile fired by terrorists from inside Academecia has struck Saint Luke's High School in Everstone on the last day before the Christmas Holidays, killing four hundred students and staff and wounding at least a further two hundred. The attack has been swiftly condemned by the Royal Family with Crown Prince Manius stating that; "Such an act is completely unacceptable and retribution will be swift, my thoughts and prayers are with those who've lost loved ones." It is understood that the Crown Prince and his sister Princess Elianor are to spend time over the next few weeks visiting each of the affected families. It's also been revealed that a second missile heading for Vafleon as part of the same attack was intercepted and destroyed by a patrolling Achkaerinese naval vessel, a letter of gratitude is believed to have been sent to the Achkaerinese embassy. KING RUSHED TO HOSPITAL FAMILY TOLD TO PREPARE FOR THE WORST  His Majesty King Richard Silverwood has been rushed to hospital this morning. The King who has been suffering with a terminal tumor for a long time, had been thought to surprisingly be making good progress in his fight against the disease but that took a down turn earlier this morning. Queen Isabel remains at her husband's side while Crown Prince Manius has released a statement informing the nation that the Doctors have informed them to "Prepare for the worst." indicating that it is highly likely that the King is not expected to survive and even if he does survive this latest scare there are questions being asked by the Barons and Sheriff's about whether he can continue on the throne as his health continues to deteriorate. PRINCESS CATRAIN MEETS WITH ACHKAERINESE MINISTER  Princess Catrain has spent the last three days holding talks with Senator James Williams, the Youth Minister of Achkaerin. The pair visited Saint Luke's High School that was struck by a missile during the Academicia crisis and spent last evening at Oakshield Theatre. The visit was touted as a re-establishment of a relationship that decades ago was of significant importance to Vafleon. It is also understood that the pair discussed developments relating to climate change in the wake of a warning of an impending sea level rise due to an ice shelf break in Hrothgar. The visit concluded with the Princess presenting the Achkaerinese Minister with the Dragonstone, in respect and recognition for all the sacrifices that were made in decades past. The stone, Achkaerinese in origin, was taken as a prize many centuries ago by Vafleon and it's return marks the first step in what the Princess described as "Rebuilding the relationships of the past."
