Emperor Finally Elected Speaker of the Senate, Huemac Ichtaca, was finally inaugurated by the Church's Conclave as the new Emperor of Meshika today. The announcement comes after the Conclave finally came to the consensus of ending Huemac's probationary period as Speaker, awaiting official induction as Emperor. This means, the Confederation under the High Minister Axatonal, has been dissolved under the new Treaty of Huitzilopochtli Imperial Policy, which assures the renewment of the Imperial Rule by grace of the Church. Meshika has been living under the Confederation for 80 years since the passing of the former Emperor, now the elections have concluded and Huemac is deemed by the Church, new Emperor enacting Imperial restoration. Navy Constructs New Ship in Honor of New Emperor  Credit: Helge129 The Royal Naval Defence Force has announced the construction of the new Huemac-Class Guided Missile Destroyer. This announcement comes after Huemac Ichtaca(now - Emperor Huemac) was chosen as the 25th Emperor. In the midst of the Imperial restoration, the military has shuffled it's ranks an re-assessed it's equipment, with the Navy unleashing it's 22 Billion dollar Huemac-Class program. Two are scheduled to be constructed, the 'Huemac' and '25th Imperial'. "We are proud to announce a new generation of military technology and show off Meshikan craftsmanship in military vessels." a Naval spokesman stated. |

Church Enforces Clean Energy Incentives One of the many Geothermal Plants making use of Meshika's active thermal hotspots "Religious agenda has overcome pragmatic progression." Tilcon says, CEO of the National Oil Energy monopoly, Tycho, who owns an array of sub-energy companies. "We cannot blatantly switch to clean energy overnight, the cost is a heavy burden on the people, proposed methods lack in efficiency and there is not pressing need for it." Tilcon says, in a testimonial to the Emperor and High Minister. However, his pleas were ignored. This move, originally invoked by High Minister Axatonal after the water crisis of 2010, which introduced scientific studies that enforced the idea that air and water pollution, from Tycho factories made the locals of the East Ponderosa's sick. Tycho has refutted these claims, with the ongoing investigation looking to be a slippery slope. CEO Tilcon alleged that the Meshika Church funded and environmental lobby that worked to twist the scientific findings, however these accusations have never been proven leading up to the coming court date. CEO Tilcon will defend himself in front of the Grand Imperial Court, the charges include knowing about the harmful affects of the factories from company studies decades earlier, but warping the facts so that the efficiency, overlooks the public health risk. Imperial Health Commissioner, Itzhuitl Tepin, stated that. "We have found that many document's from the past 1985 investigations were destroyed. Further investigation into the case has proven that Tilcon was likely behind the lobbying of assets in order toe deceive the Senate and public." The case has the potential to the reach Capital levels, as Tyhco's factories are all over the country. Emperor Huemac, for the time being has ordered them under government supervision by the Imperial Health Commissioner. The Meshika Church, has made a huge effort to incorporate large solar fields, as well as hydrogen factories to substitute and replace. Tycho has outraged, stating. "The government has no right to manage, takeover and change our business." |

IMAEC Announces Potential Manned Mission to Moon of Jupiter The Imperial Meshikan Aerospace Engineering Corps announced that a mission to Europa, one of Jupiter's moon's is on the table. Meshika scientist Nikil Teoscon, who is behind the project, stated that he would like to "Drill into the ice, put a submersible under it and see what comes up to lick the camera." The mission will take a long time to accomplish however, as a probe was barely launched to begin it's journey to scan the moon and send back geothermal data to determine the underwater ice composition and landing zones. A second probe would the be sent, to land on the surface, take samples and leave, by this time the journey is expect to be faster employing fast propulsion. Several probe missions are due to the surface before a manned mission can be officially planned. However, IMAEC states that putting humans on it's surface for official drilling operations will be the end goal. But probing missions will take place beforehand, to measure data and determined optimal safety of the astronauts. |

Navy Deploys Naval Infantry on Regular Patrol Emperor Huemoc has ordered the Coast Guard to be reinforced with fully armed marines, after one oil tanker ship was nearly hijacked and several Meshikan sailors taken hostage in the skirmish against piracy, which only seems to be climbing in the Sea of Kyne. Piracy has never affected Meshika, however a when a merchant marine was nearly hijacked the coast guard deployed rapidly to combat the onset of pirate attacks. Naval Command reported the attacks were ultimately failed, however raises the issue of Kyne Piracy to Meshika. The navy has begun the deployment of naval troops beyond the EEZ(economic exclusive zone) for maritime patrol, in hopes of thwarting or fending off any more attempts of Meshikan goods. |

Foreigner Arrested For Sexually Abusing Llama The Meshikan government has listed a Elbert Bass internationally with his ID, hoping a government somewhere would claim him. He is charged with defiling what in Meshika is deemed, a sacred and proud animal, the Llama. As it so happens, this is not an uncommon problem either with both Meshikans who have strange fantasies and foreigners who are somehow tantalized by the majesty of the sacred Llama. This is sadly, such a common problem, local police departement have opened a 'SLU', Special Llama Unit to help aid in cases in which a Llama is abused. |

Senate Passes 'Rokkenjiman Energy Development Aid' Legislation Emperor Huemac signed an initiative presented by the Church to cooperate with Rokkenjima on clean energy strife's in the country. The REDA bill effectively establishes a supplemental grant from Rokkenjima of $450m (243.2m Ducats - correct me if I'm wrong B :)), directed at funding a nationalized clean energy system. This will effectively, fully fund an entire overhaul of the current, dangerously polluting system which has sickened thousands in reported cases nationwide. Tycho, the corporation that holds monopoly of the energy over Meshika, is currently under a microscope for reportedly twisting the facts of previous studies and the harmfulness of fossil fuels, changing government and public opinion in favour. The government is currently considering an array of alternative energy incentives. Mostly, they have been pandering to Hydrogen Power. Scientist at IMAEC have been working on this research as well, stating that the development into hydrogen rocket fuel tanks and engines has further advanced national Meshika hydrogen power incentives. Though, most hydrogen is produced through means of fossil fuels in Meshika, the Health Ministry has put forth a two to three decade plan that would convert hydrogen production from fossil fuel dependency to biomass and electrolysis. Other more clean proposals include, nuclear energy, several nuclear energy plants are being constructed.
