Comrade Marshal Announces Diplomatic Ambitions

Posted Image
Comrade Marshal Tkachenko opens the door for relations with the broader world.

Comrade Marshal Tkachenko has announced that the People's Commonwealth would be "opening her doors to foreign dignitaries to forge relations with the world around us." Speaking with Svessian Central Broadcasting the Comrade Marshal said there was much for the world to gain from relations with the People's Commonwealth, "just as there exists great opportunity for Svessia in interacting with the world around her. Kurepin Petrovich's self-imposed isolation, stringent controls over the internet and other forms of media, brought with them the Great Disconnect; those outside our borders know not of the progress the September Revolution has brought to our People and motherland. This, too, must be rectified before Svessia may claim her rightful place amongst the community of nations."

We also had the opportunity to ask our Comrade Marshal what she thought of present international affairs. "Simply disgraceful," she said as she shook her head, "You see these bourgeois nations, take Rokkenjima for example, and her cohort of vassals as they trample across Mundus, always seeking their next battlefield, their next conquest, their next victims. Always so quick to dredge up a phantom enemy, yet when their own initiatives blow up in their faces, leading to the deaths of tens of millions, what excuse is given? 'It was just this one!', they will say, 'Their dishonour is not ours but theirs to bear alone!'

"The cowards, throwing their own comrade under a train, only to then back it across so that it may break their legs as a reward for their loyalty. We then see her institutions, this 'Commonwealth', which conveniently stands by and does not one thing while all of this takes place. Yet the USR, as flawed a state as it was, is quickly stomped upon, not because its crimes were any less reprehensible, but because it was not afraid to use its voice against Rokkenjima. For that, I must respect Comrade Stalin in some measure at least, for at least he had courage."

"In a few weeks time, however, we will open our doors to the international community, the same honesty you see here today will persist. Many nations respect that, it is after all an art lost upon modern diplomacy, then again it has been some time since Mundus spoke with a Svessian like this. Will we garner enemies? Perhaps, as there are many men like Mr. O'Donnell, who would be a better choice as an Oompa Loompa extra than a serious politician, so ignorant of history and politics that each time he speaks a thousand shames befall South Hills. So, no, I am not worried about our prospects; indeed, I look forward to them eagerly."

This has been an exclusive report of Svessian Central Broadcasting. All glory to the Comrade Marshal! All Glory to the September Revolution!
