The Daily Telegraph is a multi-national newspaper and news source. It prides itself on being thorough and not politically correct, we print stories from Journalists who are not afraid to say it like it is and believe that free speech is the most important part of any democracy. It currently has circulation in every major city.

OOC: This paper is on the conservative side of the political spectrum as are most of its articles. The logo must always be used as well!

Our New Prime Minister: Why we all should be scared!

Special Report by: Kate Ellis

Today Apsley elected a new Prime Minister while this may have been the answer many Apsleian's wanted. However I can assure you that what we will see from this new Labor Government is exactly what former Prime Minister Jackson Jones was elected for eleven years ago. New Prime Minister Matt Callsman is going to wreck havoc on the economy by simply making it so that more and more of this nation has to rely on the government for handouts. This has been proven in the past, remember the last Labor government under then Prime Minister Samuel Brake. Back then Apsley was just starting to come out of a recession, unemployment was at 6% and government debt was at $300 billion dollars and to top it off we had an immigration crisis with illegal boat people lapping at our doors. With recorded asylum seekers arriving every single day in 2005, Apsley was under attack!

Our nation was heading for destruction!

But Thankfully eleven years ago the United National Coalition was elected under the strong leadership of Jackson Jones. It was this political courage that lead us away from a nation on the verge of collapse to a nation which is more whole as a result. Under the former PM he managed to turn this nation into one of hard work is rewarded. The tax cuts introduced by Luke Clarkson spurred the economy and pushed forward our prosperity. It was through shrew, conservative economic management that Apsley was able to prosper to become the nation we are today. Jones ability to come back time and time again with his most famous line obviously being 'The people who come to this nation will be decided by the people who live in this nation!' Never were better words spoken. I think a vital question we must ask is, do really trust Prime Minister Callsman to keep our borders safe? I for one think that we will find ourselves with weakened borders because of this PM.

We must be wary!

I am truly scared that the new Prime Minister is going to try and turn our nation into some Ardian-Albion style welfare state. This was not the country that I grew up in! This is not the country that I want my kids to have! That is why we must be scared of PM Callsman because he may work to undo all our progress that has been achieved. Prime Minister Callsman would love to see your electricity prices go up just to save a couple of trees. This type of thinking will again lead Apsley into a recession upon which we won't be able to recover. Now that we have our new PM you can say bye bye to the Surplus and Reserve and say hello to debt and deficit once more.

Hopefully the Apsleian people will be able to realise the mistake they have made and come the next election kick the Labor Party all the way to the curb and make sure they never again control the keys to the cottage!

Rokkenjima Involved in Andean Genocide: Not Even Close!

Over the past couple of days we have seen emotion and myths replace fact and reality. In the face of the terrible events of the Andean Genocide we have seen some nations use this tragedy as a way to score political points and that is just sickening! Firstly let's look at the facts, there is no concrete evidence of any kind of link between Sumire Abruscato and the Rokkenjiman government. For this idea to even exist shows just how outrageous the claims are against Rokkenjima. The facts stand that the entirety of the Genocide was committed by the Toshindai government. No one else is responsible for the genocide. As it currently stands all nations should have acted sooner rather than later because now we have over 60 million people dead. This is a condemnation on our leaders for not reacting and should lead us to question how can we prevent these things from happening again. This doesn't mean that any one nation is responsible so before we all go out and point fingers we must first find the people responsible and bring them to justice. I wouldn't be against the death penalty for these people as the government of Toshindai is truly one of the most vial we have on this planet.

Now some people may raise the issue of the devastating accident that occurred with the Meteorite and how Rokkenjima dealt with it. I say that that event was merely an accident nothing more and nothing less, they had to make a decision and they acted. Unfortunately they couldn't do their best and it ended up hitting the UNP with devastating consequences, however you have to remember that this was done only because Rokkenjima was trying to save its own citizens from destruction, wouldn't you want your government to do the same to save your family and your neighbors.

Also we have to remember that some people have had the strange idea to accuse the Lord High Steward of Rokkenjima of committing the acts himself and his response is more than justified. Due to these ludicrous accusations the Lord High Steward Mr Ofdensen has had his hand forced, he simply had no other option than to threaten that funds be withheld from the CTO. You must also remember that Mr Ofdensen is a man of high integrity and competence and he regularly demonstrates this in event where he is called upon to provide his service. We must also not forget that currently Empress Beatrice lies in a critical condition due to a woodby assassin. As the Empress was delivering an address which would have helped put us on the path of healing has unfortunately been punished for attempting to fix things. This truly is a dark time that we live in, where not even the empress of Rokkenjima is safe, what will happen next, will the King of East Moreland be shot for simply helping out in the international effort.

I think I speak for most people when I say that I fully agree with, and will echo the words of the Emperor of Dartfordia.
Quote:

"Today is truly a day many of us will wish to forget, however, I encourage you all to remember it. Our Empress, my wife, stood before the world to claim responsibility for one of Rokkenjima's greatest mistakes, and was cowardly gunned down as she did so. I cannot promise I will hold my hand in restraint once the responsible party is brought to justice, for he has attempted to take the life of the mother of my children, but I can promise this: we will move forward together, and we will persevere. The challenges before us are many, but we meet them together. I am not a religious man, but if Islyna is just and holds the same faith my wife holds in her, tomorrow I can tell you she is still with us. Until then, those who are responsible for her shooting, pray for death; for it shall show you more leniency than I ever could."

"Even when she admitted wrong, even calling her actions naive, you struck her down. As she apologized you struck her down, as she pledged to return home to effect justice you struck her down. I shall grant the same leniency you granted her as she admitted our wrongs as you did her; when we find you, you will be struck down without mercy. As I have been empowered to act in her interests I promise our People and world this: when those responsible for this cowardly shooting of my wife are discovered, they will cry out for death and pray for hell; neither of which will oblige them."

The fact that someone was shot and now lays in a critical state where they may end up dying is truly soul destroying. That is why I ask of you this simple thing, next time you go to criticise Rokkenjima for their supposed inaction or the false claim that they funded the Andean Genocide. I ask you to stop and think before doing so because your words could inspire the next woodby assassin to commit an even worse crime. I would certainly not want my words to quoted back to me as a reason for another world leader being assassinated. Imagine if you woke up the next day and the King of East Moreland had been killed simply because all you said was that he was a bad leader. Your words could see this man of integrity and competence killed because of your opinion. To think that he would be leaving behind a family and a nation that loves him makes me sick to gut that it is even possible. So please for the love of all things good, hold your tongue before uttering words which you may end up reggretting because remember words are like arrows. Once you release them you can't take them back!
