Veduro News.Co.VE Today the Consul held a debate in the Council of Estates proposing his plan for Veduro's economic future, this comes as the Veduran Economy is expected to take yet another hit this year after falling year after year for the last seven years. The Emperor has appointed 9 Consuls in this time each failing to help the shrinking economy, the frail Emperor who turns 85 this July took a back seat role in the nations running 15 years ago but it now seems he may have to come out of retirement to help resolve the issues at hand. Pracchia Daily Today the Emperor will attend the Council of Estates to announce yet another election. The current council has been in power for 7 months but has failed to act sufficiently on helping the slowing economy. Veduro News.Co.VE Today the new Consul took office he promised that he would help end the economic downturn paralysing the countries institutions. Many Councillors walked out of the Council of Estates today in protest of the new un-elected Consul calling the Emperor a 'traitor to democracy' as one Councillor Margarita Plathe put it. The new Consul announced that he will cut spending on social programs and freeze military spending at it's current rate. In respone to the appointment protesters marched along the streets outside the Imperial Palace in Pracchia calling for the abdication of the Emperor. Second in line to the throne and granddaughter to the Emperor Grand Duchess Maria-Therese of Antium has said that she does not stand by the appointment. The Dominions economy has seen slight improvement in recent months but that is still not enough to put the nation back on track. |

 Grand Duchess become's Heir to Imperial Throne Yesterday Grand Duchess Maria-Therese became heir to the Imperial Throne. This followed after the unpopularity of her father threatened the monarchies existence. She said that the day she becomes Empress a new constitution will be written effectively removing any power the monarchy has.  Stock Market at it's Highest in Four Years Cheers could be heard in Anthea today as the stock market reached it's highest point in 4 years. To many this is a sign of good times to come as the Government changed it's economic forecast for this year and set it's sights on 1.1% growth in the next quarter. This comes after the Government loosened it's restrictions on the finance and manufacturing industries. The economy has been in crisis since growth figures began to shrink 7 years ago, following a light recovery in 2011 the growth figures began to shrink again in Autumn 2012.  Emperor Rushed to Hospital after Collapse Today the Palace announced the Emperor has been rushed to hospital after collapsing whilst walking down the stairs in the Palace. Palace officials said he fell from the 13th step all the way to the bottom of the stairs. Many are worried whether he will survive or not with his Granddaughter and heir Crown Princess Maria-Therese put on high alert in case she needs to return from the Commonwealth Treaty Organisation meeting she has been attending. Crown Princess Preparing to Take Throne! Today the Palace announced that the state of the Emperor is dire and that the Crown Princess is planning to return from the CTO meeting she is currently attending to potentially prepare for her ascension to the Throne. Her father who recently renounced his rights to the throne following low popularity has said that 'Sadly, this an awkward coincidence as his young daughter was not expecting to take the throne for another 5 or so years'. the Priest at Galpioli chapel in Antium City has been put on standby for an emergency funeral and coronation. The Hospital has been put under strict monitoring for security and the Emperor is expected to be moved to the Palace to pass as is tradition in the House of Visconti. Upon ascending to the throne Maria-Therese will be the 5th Monarch of Veduro and it's first female head of state. She has announced plans for a new constitution and has already assembled a team of Councillors from all parties to draft a new constitution. It is expected that elements will be took from the many constitutions already proposed by various councillors. However, many expect for the constitution to be quite Right Wing due to the current majority parties Centre-Right stance. Empress Visiting Protoa Today, the Empress left on a trip to Protoa, she will be meeting with Emperor Lucian in the capital of Protos for discussions of which the subject is not yet fully known. However, the Government has expressed interest in allowing nations to maintain military bases in the Dominion and this could possibly be brought up by her highness. This is her first international visit since the death of Emperor Julius Augustus I and is expected to be a restarting of relations with the world following a period of mourning. New Elections to be Held Today the Electoral Commission announced that fresh elections would be held on July 1st this comes after a vote of no confidence in the Consul. They also announced a new title for the next Head of Government officially calling him the Prime Minister. Valieri Burlusconi is said to be running despite slim chances of his party the People's United Front winning. the PUF is the fourth largest party and has seen a steady decline in popularity due to austerity measure they've passed. Juliana Laogano UCF Candidate Today, the UCF announced it's candidate for if it wins the upcoming election. They announced that the current Minister of Foreign Affairs Juliana Laogano will be the Prime Minister in the case that they win the July 1st election. The Workers' Party which is tipped to win suffered a storm today after many top Councillors urged the people to vote against the WP after the Secretary-General said that he would use the win to push through a bill that would see workers unions be given a share of 51% in the company they worked for the Councillors warned that if he won and this passed 100s of thousands of jobs could be at risk due to companies being unable to afford to pay the high wages that would almost certainly come with the proposition.  Council blocks Selling of State assets before officially dissolving Today the council has officially dissolved but not before voting strongly against government plans to sell off the nations assets. The Council also debated the possibility of foreign military bases being hosted in Veduro but said that this would be a decision to be taken by the future Council and that future governments shouldn't be held hostage by the decisions we take on our very last days in office. |

UCF Polling slightly behind WP The latest poll for the general election put the United Conservative Front slightly behind the Workers' Party Candidate Fernando Arraud. As the poll results came out campaign managers rushed to the UCF's headquarters in Anthea with United Conservative Front Head of Campaign Activities, Umberto Benitzio saying thid "Despite today's clear lead to the Workers' Party in the poll we will fight on until tomorrow and Juliana and her team will continue to fight. Juliana who is currently away in Lakhzovia is expected to return today to make a final push for the voters who're still undecided ahead of tomorrow's election.

Parties Campaign hard as Veduran's head to the polls Today the general election is to be held with parties running around the country to gain support. The Workers Party concentrated there time on the workers in the industrial sector of Pracchia meanwhile the United Conservative Front held various meetings and dinners in Anthea, Mrs. Juliana Laogano also visited the non dire district of Anthea where the poorer workers live meeting with various families and setting out a plan to get them work. She also held a dinner that night at Fenstine Plaza Hotel where she was surprised by her family. Valieri Burlusconi, the current Prime Minister and his party have been campaigning hard for support but are still unpopular due to there close ties to the Imperial Family. The third place party the Liberal Party has seen a gain in support and is expected to be vital to the parties in the case that a minority government has to be formed.  |

 Juliana Loagano's United Conservative Front win the Election! Anchor: 'AND... Good Morning, Veduro, we can now confirm that Juliana Laogano and the United Conservative Front have won the general election with 62% of the vote. This is a major win for a Conservative Party who haven't won a majority in over 20 years. The stock markets abroad are already rising and it looks like we're in for good day in the markets. Now, I'll hand you over to out Political Correspondent Wanda Gunrow.' Wanda: 'Hello, Veduro, so Juliana Laogano's United Conservative Front or UCF as they're know have won and I'm going to discuss what this means for you at home. Firstly it could mean more jobs recently the economy has been in a slump but Juliana has special plans to boost this and it could lead to a stronger Veduro on the world stage. Secondly, more military money, Juliana has expressed doubt at the insufficient funding of the military saying it's a laughing stock on the world stage. Government announces bill that strengthens Prime Minister's power Today the government announced a new bill that would see control of the military given directly to the Prime Minister during times of emergency. The bill has had mixed reactions with some opposition parties calling this a grab for power by the UCF. The Prime Minister's office today said that this is not the point and that the aim is to increase national security in times of uncertainty. Some Military officers were displeased by the bill and said that it took the power away from the military whilst some hailed this as a way to ensure the whole nation is united in there aim during times of problem. The bill will be debated in the Grand Senate on Wednesday before a vote on Friday sees if Juliana Laogano receives the powers she has pushed for. Some have tried to criticise the party as power grabbers but a spokesperson was quick to say that it was a manifesto pledge and that the people had voted for it.  |

Back to the Past? It has been over 70 years since Veduro gained autonomy from it's close ally and friend, Achkaerin, but today that all changes after Achkaerinese and Veduran delegations met in the capital. They discussed the threat to the area and came to an agreement which means that at 2359 hours on the 26th of July 2016 the Dominion of Veduro becomes an Achkaerinese protectorate. The government offices are clearing as the nation prepares for the handover, thousands have shown up on the streets to celebrate what many are calling the re-unification of an Empire meant to be together. This is an exciting time for Veduro and her people and we look forward to the best that is yet to come. |
