Posted Image

Alistair has risen to the Altan Throne as the successor to Temur Jon Khan, today he is proclaimed as Alistair Khan, the new Khagan of Castamere. Alistair Khan is 27 years old, coming into power early after the untimely death of his father Temur Jon, the former Khagan. Investigation into the Temur Jon's death is still ongoing, with the announcement that Allistair Khan would be succeeding his father, Alistait Khan also stated, "The investigation is continuous and swift, it is inconclusive at this point however whether his death under uncertain circumstance were malicious. I continue to advise the media to stop provoking such superstition." In addition, a Khan spokesperson confirmed that a ceremony for the coronation of Alistair Khan is in the works with the guest list being kept confidential "for now".

Lord Protector Election Approaches

The election of a new Lord Protector is approaching, as Jacob Setip gave his formal resignation today on the grounds that, "Working with the Alistair Khan administration is the least of my wishes." The Ulamjlalt Party shortly after apologized to the Altan crown, stating shortly after the not so quiet resignation og Jacob Setip that, "Lord Jacob Setip was asked by a majority party vote to step down after he was under investigation for being involved in the death of Temur Jon Khan. The Party has nominated a temporary Vice Lord Protector to manage the government until election time comes around." This comes after the Devshil Party pushed for two months against the Ulamjlalts and ultimately outvoted the former Ulam majority countrol in Parliament to force the resignation of Jacob Setip, forcing the Ulam party to ask the Lord Protector to step down. Elections are due to take place in several months, with party nominations not yet chosen, later than often.

All Drugs Officially Decriminalized
Posted Image

For nearly a decade, the SPC has deliberated on the matter of drugs and dangerous affects they have on the population and if the self-proclaimed Castamerian war on drugs is helping. In 1994, the Temur Jon Khan, help begin the war on drugs after overdose and abuse became a massive epidemic. These concerns brought stricter policy, which attempted to approach countering drugs from various different ways. In late 2005, after the SPC deemed military involvement in the war 'unconstitutional', a daring proposal was made in 2008: decriminalize all drugs.

The movement, small at first, gained significant traction, mostly through the means of the Libertarian Coalition of Castamere, which spoke out claiming strict drug laws only hurt taming the issue and that he increasing laws began to impede significantly on civil liberty. In 2011, thousands protested across the country demanding action, the Libertarian Coalition happened to be there and gained a solid case. The debate, entered the SPC later that year and was a drawn out process. In 2012, it was set that all drugs would be decriminalized in a steady controlled process, though the laws would no change overnight.

Today, the government releases it's statistics on the process of decriminalization, logically most if no all in some areas, types of drug related violence or crime has gone down. Generally, drug use and abuse has decreased, but this hasn't been solely dependent on decriminalization, though the Libertarian party may tout it that way. The Ministry of Public Health and Welfare, has invested much of the budget toward establish programs that curve hard addiction and advocate awareness about the effects of drugs. In addition, many attribute a large successful factor of this process being the enforcement of a Guarnteed Minimum Income, to curve poverty rates, which have been found to be the precursor to crime in Castamere.

The Ministry of Education has also taken significant strives, though "Universal Education is definitely off the table", regulations on tuition rates as well as new programs to subsidize those below a certain income bracket have been made. Generally, the primary and secondary education systems are also ongoing an independent process of re-aiming priority.

Ministry of Energy Ushers 'Nuclear' Bill Through the SPC
Posted Image

Minister of Energy and close Adviser to the Khagan, Argun Chasar, has successfully moved the deemed 'Nuclear Bill' successfully through the Senate of the People of Castamere. After much deliberation, the bill went through the Senate untampered and a new Nuclear Commission of Castamere Organization(NCCO) has been formed. The Nuclear Bill will go on to serve as the basis for a major overhaul of the country's energy system. Provided the necessary funding, the NCCO's goal is to replace most, to all forms of fossil energy with Nuclear Energy. This does not account for investment in new Nuclear technology however, though the newest reactors are being assured.

Many economist see drawn out backlash from this however. Several fossil fuel-based energy firms have already stated their displeasure with the ongoing pursuit. Castamere, being a major buyer of fossil fuel energy, switching to self-sustaining nuclear will hamper the market in Castamere to some extent. Jobs, are expected to be lost, and though the Ministry of Energy says it's willing to propose a bill that would ensure those who lose their jobs, there is no formal or solid proposal.

Senate of the People of Castamere Deny Aid to Austeros
Posted Image

The Senate has denied Lord Protector Quintus' proposal and formal support of the Republican Austeros faction. Speaker Sorkhaghtani, stating in the final vote this morning that, "We will not allow, or approve Castamere getting involved in a massive, confusing and pointless civil war on the other side of the world that does not concern the people." while the Senate's vote has an approval of over 80%, the country is generally worried about neighbors to the north, Wegry-Szwejca. Lord Protector Quintus has openly stated, "Because Wegry-Szecja is in such close proximity, Castamere will not risk hot tensions at the border, therefore we remain entirely neutral on the issue." Nationalist sects of the government are lashing out, calling the statement cowardly and in itself, a threat to national security. Alistair Khan has only spoken in approval of the SPC on the matter of Austeros.

Government Document's Leaked By Hacktivist
Posted Image

The Castamerian born hacker group called 'Fsociety' announces the successful hack of the Space Systems Operations sector of the Armed Airforce of Castamere. Though the Airforce denies fsociety severely breaching he network, a host of secret space operations, past and present have been leaked. One of the major ones, being a botched mission to the Moon, and currently the running of a mass communication network of satellites scanning the globe for heat signatures and imagery analysis aimed at several unidentified foreign military facilities. The airforce writes this off as a common practice of many nations, and fsoceity's hack is universally seen as miniscule. However, fsociety left the message: "This is only a show of force to show our reach."

In recent weeks, fsociety has also been responsible for several protest across the country, bringing light to the Senate's bill that would impede government regulations over the internet. fsociety themselves are responsible for the development of the 'C-Browser', referred to commonly as Covert which is entirely private and lashes against common search engines and companies associate themselves with the government, enabling them to at times, run their networks. "net neutrality needs to be protected." fsociety says. "but this is only the beginning of our revolution, the big hack is definitely coming."

"Piracy in the Illumic is a Growing Problem" Lord protector Quintus states in Response to Hijacked Oil Tanker
Posted Image

It's been confirmed that the tanker seized a few hours ago by Zimalian pirates is indeed, Castamerian in origin and has a full Castamerian crew on board, with maybe a few unconfirmed other foreign crewmen. In a steadfast press statement on the rising issue, Lord Protector Quintus, openly stated that this marks the a "New age for piracy in the Illumic, near the Zimalian coast. Never before has a ship been hijacked or attacked in near Zimalia or in the Illumic. This says, that piracy in the Illumic is a growing problem that we can no longer set aside. That said, we are investigating reports and the route of the Oil company. But for now, we're working with everything we can to get the crew back."

After the press statement, Zimalian pirates address Alistair Khan personally, asking for ransom from the royal treasury. So far, Castamerian authorities have openly proclaimed they are complying with the pirates for the safety of the crew, despite call for immediate action. The 300,000 ton ship is currently being held, wit the Pirates demanding ransom and with no intent of leaving the tanker behind as well. CastaOil, estimates this hijacking will result in the loss of millions, they say they are working fully with the authorities to work through the sea route and roster. Royal Khagan Commissioner of Sea Trade and Commerce, Daniel Rykhe, criticized CastaOil saying, "Their route has been advised against several times before. However to cut monetar losses CastaOil has taken to chance anyway. Despite well due sanctions by the government."

At the moment, Military Intelligence officials only concern is getting the crew back safe and sound, as the pressure mounts and the authorities are pushed to make a move.
